On World Vision's stunning capitulation to world's most anti-gay voices

By now, you've probably heard that the Christian charity World Vision, after first announcing that it would accept the reality of Christians in same-sex marriages, has caved in to some of America's extreme anti-gay voices and reversed its initial decision. The charity is now pointedly excluding gay people.

This is one of the most galling decisions in recent memory. It's one thing to operate with an anti-LGBT mindset, as a sad number of Christian operations choose to do. It's another thing enti...

Video: When no one's buying your 'right' to discriminate, try AFA radio

Having little success with the public (including the Republican public), Heritage Foundation's Ryan T. Anderson today took his pro-discrimination views on business owners' supposed right to turn away gay couples to the uber anti-gay waters of the American Family Association. Speaking to host Tim "gay activists are a new kind of 'Gestapo'" Wildmon, Ryan attempted to "explain" to all of us why (a) people who sell cakes and flowers and assorted wedding accoutrements are casting an endorsement on...

In which 'Washington Examiner's Paul Bedard rumormongers a new anti-LGBT meme into being

FACT: The FBI's hate crimes division removed two links that it had listed under its "resource" section. Now this section only has four links, all of them either linking internally to the FBI or to the DOJ

FACT: One of links they removed was the Anti-Defamation League, which fights anti-Semitism; the other is the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tackles various forms of extremism.

FACT: There was no special distinction or reasoning given. If I had to guess, the removal was simply based on a de...

Another NOM social media #FAIL: Promoted #Marching4Marriage hashtag becomes pro-equality outpost

Today is the day that pro-discrimination special interest group National Organization For Marriage set aside as a "social media day" for its upcoming march on behalf of marriage discrimination. Only thing? Pro-equality activists had other plans, turning that hashtag into another kind of statement: one that speaks, pretty much in full, to history's right rather than wrong side!

Follow along and/or join in the fun:

Two year anniversary of us learning how divisive NOM really is/was/always will be #NeverForget

Two years ago today, we all learned the disgusting strategy that was in the early guiding documents of the National Organization For Marriage:

Enhanced-Buzz-30963-1332813895-176-6

In Secret Documents, Anti-Gay Marriage Group Looked To Divide Gays, Blacks [Buzzfeed]

Of course this was also around the time of the great marriage equality turning point. Since March of 2012, NOM has banked only one notable "win" (North Carolina).

Coincidence?

Liberals set up 'NY Times' story to turn anti-gay Republicans into Todd Akin. Or something

Over the weekend, The New York Times ran a piece about the word "homosexual" and how it's naturally fallen out of favor, particularly with the LGBT community. It was an interesting exploration of linguistics, humanity, and progress. Nothing controversial.

But according to Rush Limbaugh, the whole thing was some sort of journalistic plot to reshape minds and attack GOP candidates. The GOP thought leader, who asserts that "gay is a stolen word," ranted about it at length on his show yesterday, s...

Tony Perkins: Days ago, my daughter helped World Vision feed hungry; now can't because of GAAAAAAAAAYS

Tony Perkins is the latest to weigh in on Christian charity World Vision's decision to hire married gay people, and the proudly anti-LGBT Family Research Council prez is coupling his condemnation with a personal connection:

Our family has supported the work of World Vision, with one of my daughters actually participating in one of the group's "30 Hour Famines" this past weekend. But we cannot and will not support an organization that exalts the approval of the world over the authority of the W...

Video: As inequality gets closer to kicking it, Idaho's GOP AG borrows bucket to lay out SCOTUS marriage options

Sadly, Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden has chosen to defend his state's marriage ban, so he has an interest in explaining why he doesn't believe federal repudiation of discrimination can and should invalidate defense of these nasty state-level bans. Here's his explanation, sponsored in part by buckets:

Christian charity acknowledges reality of married, gay Christians; usual suspects lose collective sh*t

World Vision, a Christian charity that operates out of same-sex-marriage-having Washington state, has announced that it will hire Christians who happen to be in same-sex marriages. The charity says it is doing so not because it endorses same-sex marriage, per se, but that it wants to avoid controversy so that it can focus on its actual mission. Imagine that.

Within seconds, the politically active evangelicals who have thoroughly harmed religion in the eyes of so many young Americans went absol...
