About The Author
I live in Morgan Utah with my husband, daughter, and dog, Kolo. I write as often as my active daughter will let me and my husband has the patience of a saint. I find inspiration from dreams, people I meet, and life experiences. When I write, I usually end up drinking one too many cans of Peace Tea, eating three too many Fruit by the Foot fruit snacks, and accidentally kicking my pup and best buddy, Kolo, too many times since he loves to sleep under my desk at my feet.
I started writing as a teen, but my fear of the unknown won out every time and I threw everything out. After becoming a mother and deciding to stay at home to raise my beautiful little girl, I tried again when I couldn't stop thinking of ideas. I loved every minute, every hour of sleep lost, and every character that came to life in my mind.
It's strange, but my favorite moments are when I have writer's block because I can turn to my husband and find inspiration through him by just doing what we do best together. Talking, laughing, and just being in love. He doesn't like to read, but he never stops encouraging me to keep going.
Writing has become an important part of my life and every book has a special place in my heart.

EXCERPT

            The image
of blue sky, white sand, and calm waters popped into my mind, edging out the
fear and panic that had taken over me.            My body
slipped to the ground. My knees sank into the cool, pebbly sand. A soft breeze
flowed through my hair. Farrell stood beside me at the water’s edge, staring
out at the still water. He extended his arm and helped me to my feet. I brushed
myself off, recalling the terror and pain I had just left behind in the red
desert. I patted my chest.            “Am I
really here?”            “No,”
Farrell said sadly. “Only your mind is here.”            “Farrell,
am I—?” I paused, not wanting to say the words, as if keeping them to myself
would change my fate. “Am I dying?”            “Yes.” He
took my hand. “There’s nothing I can do.” His calmness filtered into me. And
for a minute there, death didn’t seem so bad.            My
attention turned to a bird in the distance that soared through the cloudless
sky. For eight lifetimes now I had died, and this was my last time. The world
would never be the same, and it was my fault.            Farrell
squeezed my hand. “Remember what I said? The last time we were here?”            Of course I
remembered. “You told me the end is not yet written, and to trust myself.”            The bird, a
white Egret, flew closer and glided right over us, wings outstretched. A lone,
feather escaped its plumage. The delicate quill drifted back and forth in the
sky. Just like the feather from my dreams and the feather Ms. Ryken had given
me that I had later seen at Jan’s. And then it dawned on me that it was the
same color as Farrell’s aura. I extended my hand, reaching out for it. When it
touched my palm, it disappeared.            Like
flipping a switch, I was back in the desert. Heat exploded inside me. The air
in my lungs had almost emptied. Warm, thick blood dripped from my fingers.
Farrell and Trent were on the other side of Tavion’s dark energy force, and I
was still inside, barely alive. Tavion continued to lift me at my throat,
squeezing the life out of me.            “Dominique!
Fight!” Trent yelled.

RDL & Giveaway: #Hater

Book & Author Details:
#Hater by Cambria Hebert
(Hashtag #2)
Publication date: January 12th 2015
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance
Synopsis:It started with unspoken animosity. The bitter bite of jealousy. And now its full blown hate.

It was during my first football game that I first felt the first chill of hate. I looked it right in the eyes and felt its sticky tentacles reach out for me. I’d never experienced something so cold and empty before.

The effect of that look lingered, like an unspoken promise, long after it was gone.

Becoming a couple – becoming the other half of a campus celebrity wasn’t easy. I let down walls guarding my heart and he looked past my glasses and accident prone tendencies. Romeo and I are an unlikely match, a #nerd and a jock. But we made it.

And we’re happy.

Zach doesn’t want us to be happy. He wants Romeo to pay for getting him kicked out of Omega and for the night he spent in jail. He’s going to use anything and everything he can to get his revenge. Including me.

As the weather on campus grows cold and the days become dark, revenge becomes the center of someone’s life and the happiness Romeo and I worked so hard for is threatened.

I can’t help but worry that our love is going to be overshadowed by hate.

Book Reviews: Angel Dreams

Angel Dreams (An Angel Falls, #2) by Jody A. Kessler: Supernatural boundaries will be crossed as Angel of Death, Nathaniel Evans, risks his eternal soul to save the one he loves, the paranormally gifted and nature-loving, Juliana Crowson.
While working with a new client, Nathaniel finds out that pissing off a demon-wielding warlock in order to help a suicidal teen with misplaced sexual tendencies may be the last thing he ever does as an angel. Unable to stand aside, Juliana’s involvement in Nathaniel’s new case quickly develops into a misadventure with gun-toting bikers, table dancing, and a shamanic exorcism performed by her temperamental Native American friend, Chris Abeyta.
Can Nathaniel and Juliana’s love endure blood-letting rituals in the forest while helping a terrified teen find the will to live, or will fate and the rules of the afterlife tear them eternally apart?
Julie's thoughts: I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

“Angel Dreams” by Jody Kessler is the second book in the An Angel Falls series. The first book in the series, “Death Lies Between Us”, was a 2014 RomCom Readers’ Crown Finalist for Best Paranormal Romance.

This series is a little spookier than all of the other paranormal romance books I’ve read. It isn’t too spooky, though. I’m scared of my shadow and was fine reading it at night while everyone else was asleep. The books kept me on the edge of my seat with much anticipation about how things were going to work out. While they both leave you knowing that there is more to come, neither ends with a cliffhanger.

In my opinion both books are way more paranormal than they are romance. If you are looking for a sexy-type book, this probably isn’t for you. But if you love suspenseful, paranormal stories with a more YA romance feel, you should give these a try. I really enjoyed both books and can’t wait for the next installment. I just hope I don’t have to wait as long for the next one.

Book Review: Ignited

Ignited (Whiskey Nights #2) by Suzannah Daniels: IGNITED is a new adult, contemporary romance intended for adult readers.

James “Hawk” Hawkins always knew he’d be a firefighter. At twenty-four years of age, he’s dedicated his entire adulthood to the perilous job of saving lives and extinguishing flames. After a chance encounter, he carries a young woman to safety, but it’s unlike any rescue he’s ever performed. She touches something deep inside of him, not because he finds her attractive, which he does, but because she doesn’t want to be saved. For the first time in his life, he doesn’t need to put out a fire…he needs to start one.

Twenty-year-old Amber Lawson escaped to the small town of Creekview, Tennessee. She was running…fleeing from a tragedy that left her heartbroken and shrouded in despair. Struggling with the desolation that has engulfed her, she tries to start anew, hoping that if she evades the reminders of her past, she can slowly begin to heal.

Hawk is determined to rekindle her passion for life. Along the way, he realizes that’s not the only passion he wants to ignite. With his heart on the line, it could be his most hazardous rescue yet.

Plus, a bonus scene from Mason and Lexi of WASTED.

IGNITED is the second book in the WHISKEY NIGHTS series. Since each book focuses on a different couple, they can be read as stand-alones, but many readers may prefer to read them in order for maximum enjoyment.

WHISKEY NIGHTS SERIES ORDER
Wasted #1
Ignited #2
Deceived #3 (coming 2015)
TeriLyn's thoughts: **Ignited generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**

After reading and really enjoying book one of the Whiskey Nights series I was thrilled Hawk would be getting his own story. Unfortunately, for me, the plot and heroine fell a little flat.

Hawk caught my attention in Wasted during scenes at the bar. From his interactions I knew immediately he was a man that would make a good hero, a good savior. Being a firefighter, Hawk feels the need to save and protect. This came through beautifully in his character. And while I thought a love connection was going to made with the comical Haley, I understand the author's choice of choosing someone like Amber to catch Hawk's eye. Understanding doesn't mean I agree necessarily, because I was hoping for someone to be Hawk's equal.

Amber was in need of saving. Her story saddens the reader enough to feel for her but there were times it felt like too much wallowing and not enough reasons why. I never felt a connection with her character, I never felt as though she became Hawk's equal. She was always just someone in need of saving and she filled the role of damsel.

Ignited turned out to be a completely different book than what I was expecting. Where Wasted was laced with humor and witty dialogue I felt this book lacked in that very much. The dialogue didn't feel as clean to me but instead clunky in places. I found myself skimming through parts rather being immersed in the words. I still find Mason and Lexi to be great characters, I'll keep a soft spot for Hawk in my heart, and still look forward to reading the story of confident, sassy Seren in the next book of the series.

Book Review: In Deeper

In Deeper (In Deep #2) by Kella McKinnon: In Deeper is part 2 of the In Deep series. It continues right where book 1 left off.

Criss has broken up with Brie again. He is so back and forth I think my neck hurts. Criss is gorgeous and very in love with Brie but he just can’t see that he is worthy of her love.

Brie does everything she can to show Criss how much she loves him and that he can trust her. She is almost had enough of his indecision though.

With everyone in danger, Criss does what he thinks he needs to do to keep everyone safe; including making a decision for without Brie knowing that will change her life forever.
TeriLyn's thoughts: **In Deeper generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**

In Deeper, much like the first book of this series, proved a bit hard for me to review. In the end it just didn’t live up to expectation with how enthralled I was with book one. Essentially I enjoyed how the characters ended up in the end but the means by which they go there just went wrong somewhere for me.

Elements of this story really drew me to the characters. An alpha, player, damaged male meets the head strong female he can’t get out of his mind from which an inferno begins to burn. Something quite alluring held me captive with these two characters. I liked their fire, their will, their restraint, and their freedom together as a unit. It’s something neither of them expected nor wanted to fully accept. The relationship develops even more quickly in book two making the plot a bit farfetched and wonky for my tastes. While the characters I found most intriguing, even the decisions I didn’t agree with, the plot working beneath their personas didn’t always work for me. Events took place I didn’t follow or see the importance of while I just couldn’t believe some of the others. Acts of pure desperation I understand but didn’t feel the honesty in the desperation. If you know what I mean in the difference.

The writing kept me rooting for these two though even while it got a bit choppy in some of the dialogue. Reading from both the hero and heroine’s points of view gave us a deeper look into the two of them, I think that’s why I wasn’t totally appalled because we got to read some of the motivations. If you like alpha males, a lot of passion, and a super crazy ride to the HEA – In Deeper will work for you.

RDL: Come Here, Go Away: Book 3

Welcome to Part Three in the reading experience of my new serial novel titled: COME HERE, GO AWAY.

What is a serial novel? It is one, long saga, told episodically. COME HERE, GO AWAY is a very steamy, angsty, emotionally charged and flawed romance between a feisty self-defense instructor and a jaded billionaire who may or not be responsible for the death of his ex-wife. It will be told over a five-week period, each installment available every Friday, beginning January 2, 2015 for the low, low price of 99c for each episode!

Follow along with Tori and Ambrose in real time during the first five weeks of their roller-coaster-ride of a romance.

COME HERE, GO AWAY is the story of the steamy, screwed-up romance between Victoria "Tori" Isley and Ambrose Flynn. A couple of complete opposites brought together when Flynn--a smoking hot billionaire--hires Tori to train his daughter in self-defense.

Flynn was accused of hiring a hit-man to kill his ex-wife due to their bitter divorce and custody battle. Though Flynn was acquitted, the killer was never found and some still insist he's guilty. His daughter moved back home with him, and now, Flynn's convinced someone is going to kill her. Flynn maintains he had nothing to do with his ex-wife's murder and believes it was motivated by revenge. When Flynn hires Tori to give his daughter private lessons in self-defense at his mansion. Sparks fly!
