Moving across the country during her senior year was a living nightmare for Dominque until she meet Infiniti, from that moment on, moving will be the least of her troubles and it all started with a Ouija board and the visions of a red desert, pure evil and death…hers. Is she losing her mind or is there more to this move, her parents and their secrets than meets the eye?

Settle in, because this journey is more than a teen, angst-filled fantasy. Learn about a race called Transhumans, that nine lives are more than a “cat” thing and that Dominque’s survival is the key to the survival of humanity. Witness Dominque’s world implode as she becomes a target for death, finds young love and gains a protector who has been with her for every life she has had. His job now is to not fail and make her 9th life last a long, long time.

FINAL LIFE by Rose Garcia is a fast-paced tale of fantasy and science fiction, of good versus evil and one girl’s quest to believe in her own sanity, her heart and to stay alive against the odds stacked before her.

Rose Garcia makes her characters believable, they come to life, some are quirky, some mysterious and you may doubt their intentions, but in the end, fabulous scenes, well-defined characters and great dialogue all come together to create an atmosphere that is both chilling and entertaining!

I want to give a huge THANK YOU to AToMR for allowing me to be a part of this great tour. I have been reading a lot of different books and when I received this book I was excited to read it. It is a new world and let's face it I really loved the concept that the main character having nine lives.

Dominique has moved from Michigan to Houston. She is nervous about starting a new school and making friends. When she gets to Houston she starts to see things happening that are not normal. She also feels like something big is going to happen. She is used to super natural things happening but this she knows is a little different. Then she meets Farrell who is her protector.

After meeting Farrell she finds out from her mother that they are from a lost civilization called Transhuman and that Dominique is on her ninth life and must save her race from the dark transhuman. As the secrets start to unfold and Dominique finds out what her family really is and what will happen if she does not defeat this dark transhuman she has to learn to lean on Farrell who is her protector. What will she do in the end? She is on her last life and after nine there are no more lives for her. Will she trust Farrell in the end? Will she be able to take down the dark one?

This book is a fast read fulled with action and everything in between. This is GREAT summer read and I can't wait for book two to come out so I can see what happens!

Final Life, is yet another example of why I have been attracted to Indie authors books. They are a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read this fascinating story and to be able to share my affections for this book.
Rose Garcia has spun a marvelous story with unique twists that pulled me in until the very last page. The idea of have multiple lives to "get it right" was captivating in itself. I found myself very curious as to what happened in those past lives, and if the protagonist was going to conquer the evil in her last and Final Life.

"You're Being Helped. There are heavenly forces working behind the scenes to help you, even if you don't see results yet."

The concept of using Oracle cards and numerology fascinated me, throw in an Ouija board and a whole lotta creepy presents itself. Dominique had her numerology done by Jan, Infiniti's (her new friend) neighbor, which told that Dominique was in fact on her 9th and final life. Visions of a red desert haunted Dominique. Her parents introduce her to Farrell Walker, whom will stay with her while her parents go out of town. She always believed her mom and dad to be geologists, but she learns that her life is not what she thought it was. Transhumans inhabited the earth and had the ability to control the energy within them and around them. A pact was made to not interfere with its history, but some broke the pact when mankind appeared. Instead of working for good, they turned, and worked for evil by corrupting the weak souls on New Earth. They are called the Tainted. The ones who honored the pact and protected mankind later became known as the Pure. The fate of the race rested on one human soul, the marked one, Dominique.

Dominique is torn between Trent, and the Walker who's assigned to protect her.

This story was so fascinating, I can't even begin to describe the coolness written in this book. There are so many unique twists thrown in the mix and blend perfectly into the storyline. I loved the characters, especially Dominique, Farrel and Trent. Dominique was a tough protagonist and she was determined to survive Tavion, the evil and a bit scary Tainted. He wanted to take Dominique's ninth life.

I really felt bad for Farrell. He had loved Dominique, but in this life, she had feelings for Trent. They are both great guys, and I feel so torn about which one I like better. I sort of hope she sways to Farrell. I really liked Trent too, but there was just something about Farrell that has me cheering for him. Of course I am not going to tell you how this ends, but I will say, your heart may just break a little bit.

Final Life is filled with magical moments, heart aching moments, action, and suspense. I look forward to the next chapter of Dominique's story.

Lately I have been in kind of a reading slump. It's not that I have been reading bad books, because I haven't, but I just haven't really gotten into the last few books that I have read. They just took me a lot longer than normal to get through. But I think I am officially over my reading slump! I'm pretty excited about this, and I'm also pretty excited about Final Life. It was such a great read! I thought the pacing was perfect, the characters were well developed and the story-line was really intriguing.

I think the real star of Final Life was Dominique. She was relatable, smart and intuitive. She was accepting of the supernatural but also a touch skeptical and questioning. She was a little stubborn and shy, but it rounded out her personality well, in my opinion. Farrell, Trent, Jan and Infiniti rounded out the cast of characters in Final Life and I really liked them all. We got to know Trent more than Farrell, which kind of bummed me out. Trent is a great guy, but I wanted to really get to know Farrell, and learn more about his thoughts and feelings. I think there is a really good chance of seeing more of him in book 2, so I can't wait for that!

I kind of wish we saw a little bit more of Infiniti and Dominique's friendship. At one point Infiniti said that Dominique was her best friend and she thanks her for their friendship. It was a really nice moment, but we didn't really get to see too many "best friend moments" throughout the book. I would have liked to see a little bit more of that as a backstory.

Overall, Final Life was such an excellent read. I read the book pretty quickly and I was left wishing I had book 2 in my possession so I could read it right away. I can't wait to see more of the Transhuman saga unfold. I am really interested in learning more about them. The writing is great, and the plot is even better. This is a series to look out for.

'Final Life' is a wonderfully interesting book that focuses on the concept of Transhumans - people that existed before "normal" humans and who have above-normal abilities. These Transhumans are divided into Pures and the Tainted who are at war over the Marked One. The Marked One will decide the fate of the Earth and of all Transhumans.

Without knowing it, our heroine Dominique is the Marked One of the prophecy. All she knows is that she just moved to Houston, Texas and is miserable. Soon she has a weirdly familiar hot guy named Farrell living with her family and everything she thought she knew about her life and the world, is about to be turned upside down.

The storyline of 'Final Life' is refreshing and gives new life to the YA sci-fi/fantasy genre. The characters are all likeable and believeable, and we get to see Dominique grow into her role in destiny and accept her fate as The Marked One. There are normal teenage issues to deal with - moving to a new school, making friends, crushes on cute guys - all intertwined with the much bigger plot of saving the world as we know it.

Garcia does a great job of creating a realistic scenario for her novel; one that doesn't seem so unbelievable. The narrative is well written and flows easily, making this a great page turner that I ended up flying through in one day. 'Final Life' is a great YA novel that explores how far someone will go to fulfill their destiny and save the world.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Dominique is 17 years old, it is her senior year and high school, and her parents have made her move from Michigan to Houston. New School, no friends, it really sucks. She meets Infiniti on Facebook, who happens to live down the street, and who invites her to a party. That's when things really start to change. Ouija boards, Tarot cards, then visions she doesn't understand are more than she can take. She meets Trent, who is really hot and her parents end up moving in Farrell, who is the son of a friend, and he is super hot to. Talk about confusing. Jan, another neighbor, introduces her to the concept of numerology, and she finds out that she in on her final life. Could things possibly get crazier? The answer is yes. Her parents aren't what they seem and neither is Farrell. Not only that, Dominque has been marked, and if she doesn't get things right this time.....time is up....and not just for Dominique.

I really enjoyed Final Life. It was a quick read and had a very interesting paranormal twist. The whole transhuman concept had the whole Sci-Fi/Fantasy element going on, yet Rose Garcia has written it in a way that is both fresh and believable, with the classic good versus evil theme incorporated. There is romance, and a love triangle of sorts that is very well done. Dominique ends up rising to her calling and being a pretty kick-butt heroine. The story also ended well, which I feel is important in any series. This was an excellent YA story that is both intriguing and entertaining and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance.

This was a fast paced read. When I first began I thought Dominique was a little bit childish and acting petulantly. Sure she moved but dang you don't need to be all nasty about it. Thank she goes to a party and everything changes. Cards are read and the Red Desert images begin. Now you are transformed into a world of evil and darkness. One that she doesn't understand quite well until explained to her and one that can kill her. With only one life left while her friends are on her first she literally has everything to lose.

As she is dealing with the neighbor and the tarot reading, her numerology and dreaming of the Red Desert she still has school and guys to navigate. Farrell the gorgeous mystery man moves in and she is instantly drawn to him meanwhile she is attracted to Trent at school. Trent has a attraction to her as well but does it lead anywhere or could it with her life in such chaos.

As she is brought into the world of what her parents and Farrell are and how she fits into the legend, so many things happen. She learns of her love for Farrell, Trent gets closer, she figures who to trust, realizes she can die and has in the past, gets a burden put on her shoulders of keeping the world safe and is trying not to be caught by Tavion.

the adventures never cease and the story will suck you into the world that Rose Garcia has created and never let you go. Anxiously I await the second in the series to see if her and Farrell will recapture the romance of the past, and what about Trent?

I was intrigued by this novel from when I first read the blurb. I think it was the concept of 'soul lives', which is explained in the story with other fascinating factors that all really blended well into the story. From chapter one, we instantly get a glimpse of something eerie and mysterious. The conflict, the main scenario, that threatens Dominique and others was creative and instantly I wanted to know more, so this was a definite page turner. All the characters were written really well; good descriptions that made me visualize what they might look like, and how they would act. Dominique at first feels alone, as she recently moved to Houston, from Michigan, and to top it off, it's her Senior year of High School, but all she wants to do is go back to Michigan for College. But she wont seem so alone as there are two guys (Farrell and Trent) that are suddenly in her life, and you'll just have to read how this love triangle plays out.... Apart from characters, there was also good description in the settings; I love it, as it made me feel I was there with the characters(s), so this was a movie in my head, from beginning to end! The writing overall was wonderful; there was a nice flow, and reading from Dominique's POV was great, as we are on this road with her, as she experiences and discovers things that she never thought were possible. This is the first book of a promising series, so I hope you read this story, as it's one not to miss! :)

I received this book in exchange for my honest review. This is Book one of The Transhuman Chronicles. I was really surprised by this novel, quite a bit happens and the book is only 185 pages long. Dominique’s family moves to a new state during her final year of high school. Not only is she the new girl in town, but her old friends have moved on without her. You can understand Dominique’s frustration at being lied to for so long by her parents as she grasps trying to understand what has been happening to her and what the visions are she has been seeing. She learns of a war between the Tainted and the Pures, which she has been fighting for 8 lifetimes…this is her final life. Will she end the war or die trying? I guess you’ll have to find out for yourself. I honestly can’t wait for book two, this one was practically impossible to put down.

When approached to do this tour, I just couldn't help but want to review this book. The synopsis had me hooked, and I couldn't help but wonder what I would do in a similar situation. I loved the writing style of the author and thought that the story line flowed well. The descriptions of characters and situations were so well done that I could imagine myself in the story as well. I can't wait to see what else the author comes out with :)

MY REVIEW

Final Life tells the story of seventeen year old Dominique. Dominique is a young woman who after relocating to Houston, becomes aware of who she really is. All her life Dominique dreams of a Red Desert, where she dies numerous times, so with the new relocation from Michigan to Houston, and being away from all she knows plus the resurgence of the dreams; she is miserable. Not too long after her arrival in Houston, Dominique begins to have terrifying experiences, and her life is under attack; Dominique is not sure of what is going on when her parents call a young man to stay with them, the very handsome Farrell. Soon she and Farrell are inseparable, and she develops feelings for him, as well as the new guy she meets Trent. After several attacks, Dominique is finally told of who she is, that she has lived before, and that the fate of mankind and beings called Transhumans depend on her survival. Dominique discovers that her parents and Farrell are of these beings called Transhumans, and that they have been trying to protect her over eight different lives; and that Dominique is now on her ninth and final life. Soon, she discovers that an evil being, a Tainted called Tavion, has killed her eight times, and is ready for this ninth and final time. He desires to drain her energy and then the world will never be the same. Dominique has help from her friends Infinti, Trent, Farrell ,Jan and Abigail, all who directly and indirectly assists her in this battle. Dominique and Farrell’s whole desire is to stay alive, but Dominique is forced to surrender within three days time, when her parents lives are shown to be at stake;thus there is a final showdown between good vs evil.

I enjoyed Final Life, it was well-written and the story and pace was very good, making for an interesting read. I loved the characters, and was drawn into the mystery of what was happening regarding Dominique. I was right along with her, trying to understand the clues of what was happening to her and what everyone’s part was in this situation. I felt the small thrills when Dominique’s feelings were detailed for the protective and mysterious Farrell, I did feel a little irritation at first when Trent was brought into the picture more and more, because I had a desire to see Farrell and Dominique to remain together…but soon Trent grew on me, and I was right along with Dominique confused, but feeling pulled to both guys:)

Final life, had action, romance…but not so much it overtook the story or slowed it down; all was sprinkled through perfectly. I was so nervous at the final battle scene, which I will not go into detail, so to not spoil it, but I was on the edge of my seat. I thought the sentiment behind the white feather(because yes, I was stumped throughout the WHOLE book about that feather, and could not wait for a revelation;) so I was satisfied with the explanation and how all the events tied together:)

I enjoyed this and look forward to further works from Ms. Garcia.

Go grab a copy!

Happy reading all:O)

The summary for this book sounded too intriguing not to read. I love finding something new and fresh. This book was really good. I enjoyed reading the story, getting to know the characters (Farrell), and being a part of the Dominique’s crazy senior year. The book was very fast- paced, it had me biting my fingernails in anticipation a couple of times. It is the good old story of good vs. evil with some paranormal, a couple of pretty hot guys (Farrell), a few nutting but interesting characters, many surprises, and a bit of action.

The story is Dominique, her senior year she is moved from Michigan to Houston Texas. Thrown into a new environment, Texas hot, Michigan not, and a new school. She makes a friend pretty quickly on Facebook and finds out she lives down the street. She joins for a party where she meets some pretty interesting characters and strange thing begin to happy. From there on out the weirdness keeps coming. She starts to a vision and has a pretty creepy interaction with an Ouija board. She soon finds out she is a transhuman, a being of light, a pure, and there is an evil transhuman, the tainted, out to get her and the new hot guy(Ferrell) that lives with her family is her protector.

The characters are amazing, Dominique seems like your average teenage girl from first glance. She had a life in Michigan and she’s very unhappy with the move, she complains, but she does what she can to make the best of it. She forces herself to meet new people and to make friends. When she finds out about being a transhuman she is mad at first for the secret then she becomes frightened at the thought of being hunted. She quickly learns something has to be done before she loses those she loves and learns to fight back. I really liked her and it didn’t take me long to grow attached.

The other characters are pretty cool too. Infiniti is wild, crazy, care-free, and a little strange. She was fun to be around. Trent is pretty hot and sweet, genuine. He has a great relationship with his grandmother and does the right thing when he can. My favorite is Farrell.

I fell in love with Farrell right away. The name may have drew me in at first, seems like a wild name to me. But what really got me was his personality and well he looks aren’t so bad either. He is quite most the time but when he speaks I was shocked, awing, or cracking up. He has some pretty good one-liners. He is very protective, I know he is a protector, but I could see it was more than that. He really cares for Dominique. I just love his that is all.

The story was really good. It had the normal paranormal romance going on with the thrill of the hunt as an added bonus and mystery and intrigue thrown in to the mix too. The end left me wanting for more.

I received this book as part of a review tour and I am very happy that I chose to participate.

Rose Garcia did an excellent job with this story. Paranormal is my favorite genre and I have just recently started to read more YA. (Another choice I am happy to have made) The book is well written with a good story line. I really liked the characters and love the conflict of good vs. evil!

Rose described the settings in the way that I look for in a book. If I can see and feel what the characters are then the book plays out in a movie in my mind (with no commercials lol!) making it hard for me to put the book down. Which in this case I finished the book in one sitting!
Final Life is about a 17 year old senior in high school named Dominique.
Dominique’s parents move her from Michigan to Texas, a move she is not happy about. Who wants to move their last year of high school to a place they have never been to and to start all over? Not me!

She has been having dreams about a red desert for years, but they are now starting to bother her. Now she is having terrifying experiences and she is under attack. Soon after the attacks start her parents tell her that some friends of theirs son Farrell is going to come stay with them while his parents are away overseas. The guy is hot, and she finds herself attracted to him in a familiar way, like she knew him before.

After being attacked multiple times Dominique is told who she really is. A normal human, whose purpose is to save mankind,. And that this is not her first life, she has actually lived 8 lives before this one..

Her parents and Farrell are not human they are Transhumans and they have been trying to protect her throughout her eight previous lives. Dominique is now on her ninth and final life. She discovers that an evil being named Tavion,is a Transhuman hunter. He is the one that killed her in all her past lives. And has plans are to end her final life also. His purpose is to kill her and drain her of her energy and this will change the world forever. But, this life is different somehow. Dominique doesn’t remember her previous lives, and as she learns about her identity and purpose, she has to prove she’s brave and strong enough for this final fight…… want to know how it ends? Pick up your copy of Final Life and see, you will not be disappointed!

In case you are wondering about the feather….I myself like many of you, wonder what the significance behind the white feather is (Yes, I was stumped throughout the WHOLE book about that feather, and could not wait to find out!) I am happy to tell you that there is an explanation and how all the events tie together.

So I joined this book tour for a few different reasons… the first being I love being a part of a book tour! I get to read so many books by authors that most people have never heard of! The second reason I wanted to be a part of this book tour is because the book sounded completely different from anything I had read before.

The book is still paranormal… it is rare that I veer too far away from that genre (although I am getting better at branching out) and as with most books that I have had the opportunity to read from a tour… I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

Dominique is a normal teenage girl… but what sets her apart is that she has already lived 8 other lifetimes she just cant remember them, although her parents always do. I cant even imagine how that must feel… her parents have lived every life over with her, and each time they have to watch their daughter die.

This book also introduces us to Farrell, who is super awesome he is powerful as well as sweet. It is also super obvious how much he cares for Dominique even though he does a pretty good job of hiding it.

Then there is Trent, he is human 100%... or is he? I don’t think I am completely sold on him being a human… but I don’t want to give anything away… so lets just say he is basically perfect! He is popular, nice, sweet, loves and takes care of his grandmother, and he falls for Dominique hard. Oh did I mention that he is hot as well?

If I had to choose who Dominique gets with I would definitely have a very hard time because both of them seemed perfect for her!

The other thing I really enjoyed about this book, is that unlike most YA books Dominique has and lives with both of her parents. Sure they don’t have a normal relationship by any means, especially when she realizes her ‘destiny’ but she still has 2 parents who are happily married, not dying, and love her unconditionally! How rare is that for a YA book!?

If you have not heard of this book before, or the author Rose Garcia… go to Goodreads right now and check them out! This is a fantastic first book in the series and I can not WAIT for the next book to come out! I will totally be hoping I can be a part of a future book tours involving Rose Garcia!

3.5 stars

Final Life is a YA paranormal with an interesting plot and just a touch of romance. I've always been fascinated by past lives and tend to gravitate toward books that feature them. This one is a bit different than many others about past lives. The title refers to Dominique's final chance to overcome the evil that has followed her through eight other lives. No pressure or anything.

Dominique thinks she's a normal teenager until a couple incidents reveal her true destiny, forcing her parents to tell her the truth. She is on her last life and if she doesn't defeat the evil pursuing her, a horrible fate will befall the Earth. For some reason, her parents kept this important information from her. Instead of training her to take on the evil, they remain silent. Interesting choice given the circumstances. In fact her parents' actions were so difficult to understand, I was just left scratching my head.

The entire mystery occurs because people keep things from our intrepid main character. Why do people always do that? Personally, if I was in Dominique's shoes, I'd want to know in advance. Well, for whatever reasons, Dominique is forced to uncover the mystery herself. I found the plot intriguing, and enjoyed the pace in which the mystery was revealed. This is a lightning fast read—the pages just seem to fly by.

Romance takes a backseat to saving the world, but we are treated to a bit of a love triangle anyway. First we have the adorable, sweet, and intelligent Trent who shows an immediate interest in Dominique. To complicate matters, gorgeous, stoic, and close-lipped Farrell moves in with her family. Farrell is deeply connected to her past, and Dominique feels an instant connection with him. Of course, she is also quite attracted to Trent, who makes her heart race with his mere presence.

Final Life has an ending! That's right, it's a standalone novel with a real ending. A rare find in the YA paranormal genre. I recommend Final Life to everyone high school and up that enjoys a good paranormal read. If you're into past lives, I think you'll really enjoy this one.

Title: Final Life
Author: Rose Garcia
Date of Release: May, 15th, 2012
Source: ATOMR For Tour Review
Summary from Goodreads:
Eight lives. You'd think Dominique would get it right, but she's failed every time. Now on her final life, Dominique must discover the secrets of her past before confronting the Transhuman hunter who wants to kill her for the last time. Farrell, a mysterious Transhuman protector, and Trent, a hot guy from school, want to help. But it's up to her to get it right this time—or she’ll be dead. For real.

Review: I just couldn’t not read this book after reading the summary and being drawn into the eyes on the cover. To this very second I can’t stop thinking about how twisted this book is. The beginning didn’t initially draw me in, but than BAM. It picked right up. I loved the way it was written. Rose Garcia will explode your mind with action packed scenes and emotional turmoil.

I was weary Dominique was going to be just another character in a book for me. Let’s face it at this point in my reading life, I’ve met many characters. It takes a truly special one to get me into a book nowadays. I am excited to say Dominique is one of these. I was torn between Trent and Farrell, and I think I have my feelings about both figured out. BUT I want you to go through all the mystery and guessing like I did so I won’t share those.

Final Life, is one of those great finds that you keep going back to when you think about a new book to read. I mentioned how twisted the novel is and I don’t anyone to be confused about my usage of the term. I mean twisted in a totally insane mind blowing cool way. The whole world Rose Garcia created made me think about the actual world I live in. Man, guys this book is a must pick up.

THANK YOU Supagurl Tours!!

Every teen age girl loves hot guys and if they are nice besides, well who's to complain? Dominique is irritated by the move from Elk Grove Michigan to Houston Texas. She hates the idea of being the new girl in town mid-year....and life just gets weirder and weirder for her. Her first new friend, Infiniti, is quite a character and introduces her to tarot card reading, the ouija board and Jan across the street and her numerology system. Infiniti is on her first life, but Dominique is on her ninth and final life. And she is marked for certain death. Not only is she finding her days numbered, but the hottest boy in school is her new admirer and his competition is found in the form of Farrell (see above). Her parents are watching over Farrell while his parents are overseas......and he is one HOT dude. All is not as it seems and Dominique needs truth to help her sort through and save her own life as well as the future of the world itself!

Final Life is a smooth, fast read and it was quite enjoyable. I loved the characters, Dominique and Infiniti especially. They were certainly good together! It would be hard to make a choice between a normal teen, like Trent and a paranormal like Farrell, but Ms Garcia took care of that very neat and tidy. I appreciated that being settled. And this could be a stand alone book if you never took it further. But I hear this is only book one in the Transhuman Chronicles....so there is more to come if you desire it! I think I can not wait!!

I've been a fan of fantasy, urban fantasy and paranormal books for several years now, and I think that's part of what drew me in instantly to the book Final Life by Rose Garcia – the first book in the Transhuman series. I thought the ideas and concepts she used were unique, and the paranormal elements were great. I can't think of another book that I've read that has used something quite like what was used in this book as far as multiple lives and humans that are something more than human. From chapter one, there's a slow building of suspense as something out of the ordinary happens at a party, which terrifies Dominique. This piqued my curiosity, and it made me want to read more as she learned more over time about who she was and what was going on. The reactions she displayed felt real as well...from disbelief and denial at first to acceptance of what was taking place.

Dominque, as a character, was one that I definitely liked. I could understand her hesitance to accept what was going on at first. I also thought the secondary characters were developed well. The one that I grew to like the most were Trent, Jan and Farrell.

Final Life, as a book, doesn't end on a cliffhanger, but it is the first book in a series. Having read it, I'm interested in reading the second to see how the story progresses.

I recommend this book to anyone who like paranormal or urban fantasy books.

Masterpiece!
As soon as I read this book's description I knew I had to have it! I am so glad I did too, because Final Life turned out to be so much more than I had imagined. A whirlwind of decisions, emotions, & truths revealed. Without knowing it Dominique has hit a major turning point in her life. She soon finds out it is much bigger than deciding which college to attend after graduation. As if being forced to leave your hometown, friends, & everything you once knew to be true weren't enough she now has not one but two hot guys attempting to win her trust & affection. How to choose when they both pull her to them like magnets for completely different reasons? Top everything off with new friends who lack a bit in good decision making capabilities, odd neighbors who seem to know things about you, nightmares that are so real you can smell them, deadly secrets, a kind abuela with knowledge far beyond her years, & unseen forces popping up to play and you've got a masterpiece!

When I got the change to read and review this book, I wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but the further into the story I got, the better I liked it and the more I wanted to read. By the time I put my Kindle down the first night I started it, I was over half done.

This is the story of Dominique, who thinks she's an ordinary 17 year old girl who just got uprooted from her home in Michigan and planted in Houston, Texas just after Thanksgiving of her senior year. She finds out quickly that things aren't quite what they seem.

The plot of the story is a great mix of paranormal and reality to make it a believable story, which is one of the things I love about the story. It was easily relatable to anyone who wants to read it. It's not set in a fictional world, it's set right here on earth in our own time.

The biggest complaint I have? I have to wait to see what happens next! Yeah, the ending was a bit abrupt, but it left me wanting more.

Final Life is a fresh new take in the paranormal/fantasy realm of books. The characters were very believable and one could relate to them in the real world. The main character Dominique is on her final life of the Transhuman realm and she has to fight her last fight to keep her life. Dominique finds unlikely allies and a love triangle with two men Farrell and Trent, while discovering the secrets of her past, learning she has been lied to, and getting ready to face her future.

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book, but after reading it I was pleasantly surprised and very glad I read it. If you are looking for a fresh new take in paranormal/fantasy/YA I would definitley recommend Final Life and I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.

Awesome read! I really enjoyed Final Life. This book was thrilling and moved at a good pace. I loved the teenage angst that the main character, Dominique, was feeling having to move to a new city and learning new secrets about her past. I loved the supernatural aspects and edge-of-your-seat feeling that made me never to want to stop reading. This book was very exciting, it had an interesting love triangle dilemma with two gorgeous guys that ended bittersweet and had me in tears.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series and I can't wait to see what is in store for Dominique.

Final Life is such a fascinating concept! I loved the idea of a person having nine lives and the history and powers of the transhumans. I am a fan of love triangles, but I usually choose a side quickly and stick with it. But I found my self waffling nearly as much as Dominique between Trent and Farrell! I loved them both!

The prose was quick paced and I found myself eager to keep turning pages until I was finished. I'm excited to find out what happens to Dominique in the rest of this series.

This was such a fun and different read. Well done Rose!

I leaned more towards 2.5 stars for most of the book, but that ending I think bumped it up to a full 3 stars. There's a lot of potential here that simply wasn't executed in the best way ever. Lots of action, barely any impact. Enjoyable but empty. Best points: 1) Houston motherfuckin' Texas. 2) Kick-ass best friend. 3) Adorable love interest of color.

This is not my usual genre but once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. It is an action packed drama with a great storyline that kept me enthralled throughout. The characters are well detailed and their interactions are remarkable. Dominique has a life changing event happen that sets everything in motion. Decisions must be made and truths come to the surface. Cannot wait to read more of Dominique's journey!

I give this book 5 stars
