So I met this guy. He has the trifecta of awesomeness; hot, built, and amazing in bed. But the best part of it all is that he loves me. Did I mention that I puked all over him when we first met? No? Well, that’s a different story. Now the whole world wants to barf on us because we are disgustingly in love and let’s face it, the cutest couple on earth. But what happens when our love for each other may not be enough to face the road ahead? As the saying goes, first comes love, then maybe if your lucky he’ll put a ring on it, then comes…oh, the crap in diapers. So far I’ve faced a malicious girl scout, and jealous hoochie and a skunk that I may or may not have turned into a fur stole. Now Miles and I are facing our great challenge as a couple. As I’ve found out, sometimes life isn’t all daises and unicorn farts.

Amazon

A soft knock came from the door and one of the staff went to open it. In came what I could only describe as dollar store rendition of Mickey’s best dog pal, Pluto. This person was wearing yellow sweatpants, a matching sweatshirt, yellow gloves, tennis shoes, and a black felt string attach to the ass with duct tape. To make the situation worse, they were wearing a plastic Pluto head that looked like it was purchased at a Halloween store. It reminded me of those stupid unicorn heads that guys wore at frat parties because they thought they were the coolest ones there.

Dysfunctional Pluto came over to our table and waved at everyone without saying a word. I looked at Renee and Ryan, who were sitting opposite of Dillion and I at the table. Both of them were trying hard to suppress their laughter. Renee waved back at him, and I just looked at Dysfunctional Pluto like he had the plague. Dillion jumped out of his seat and ran over to hug Pluto, and I wanted to pull him back because I thought for sure this person was hiding a weapon somewhere and was about to massacre us. Maybe Miles couldn’t pay the upgrade charge to bring in a real Pluto so they had to substitute with Pluto’s mentally disturbed cousin, Sudo.

Sudo surrounded Dillion in a king-sized hug. He then gave Ryan a handshake and patted Renee on the head. When he came to me, he pulled me out of my chair. He took the long tongue that hung disturbingly out of his mask and made a huge slurping sound as he drew his plastic tongue up from my chin to the top of my head.

“Wow. Thanks, Pluto. That was sweet.” I patted him on the shoulder, but he wasn’t finished. He took his gloved paws and engulfed me in a hug and hooked one of his legs around mine.

He finally released me and signaled to Renee to take our picture. He stood behind me and once again wrapped his giant paws around my waist. His large plastic head rested on my shoulder.

“Pluto, I know you’re a horny dog, but this is the last time I’m warning you to keep your paws to yourself.”

Then Sudo quickly grabbed my butt and gave a tight squeeze.

“That’s it!” I said through my teeth. I turned around and kneed him right in his big doggie balls.

Renee and Ryan gasped as Sudo fell to his knees, grabbed his puppy pals, and let out a moan.

“Jesus Christ, Moxie!” Sudo said, still on his knees.

“What the fuck!” I covered my mouth with both hands. “Miles?”

“Is it always your reaction to knee Disney characters in the crotch?” Miles stood, still wincing.

“You we’re groping me! What are you doing here dressed up as sudo Pluto?” My hands were in my hair and my eyes went wide. “I thought you were stuck at home working?”

“It’s supposed to be a surprise. It was all planned,” Miles said, his voice sounding less strained.

I turned around to look at Ryan and Renee. “You knew?”

They both nodded, biting their lips to try to contain their laughter.

“What about you?” I eyed Dillion.

“I was told that if I said anything to you, Daddy would cancel my subscription to National Geographic.”

“I still might cancel your subscription. Hasn’t anyone taught you it’s not nice to lie?” I admonished, but Dillion kept smiling because he knew I was the one lying.

“This is so sweet, Miles. But you didn’t have to do all of this. You could have just come with us on the plane like a normal human being.”

“Then it wouldn’t have been as memorable.” He put his gloved dog paws on his hips.

“Why does it have to be memorable? It’s just a… Oh, shit!” It hit me like a lightning bolt.

Miles dropped down to one knee and took my hand in his fake dog paw. “Moxie, from the moment I met you, you surprised me at every turn. I love how honest you are, caring, and even how outspoken you are. You make Dillion and I complete with your love, and I want you to make our family complete. I love you, sweetness. Will you marry me?”

Ryan handed Miles a black box, and Miles, having some issues using his gloved hands, opened it to reveal and large solitaire princess cut diamond. Everything I wanted and dreamed about were at my fingertips. I wanted a future with Miles and Dillion more then I wanted my next breath. Tears rolled down my cheeks, and I clutched my stomach with my hands.

“Moxie, this is the most quiet I’ve ever seen you. Can you please say something so I know that you’re still breathing?” Miles held the ring in front of him.

I looked at the ring and then back to Miles, his eyes filled with tears. This was the moment of fight or flight. “Miles, I’m pregnant.”

As a little girl, it was always a dream for Z.B. Heller to become She-Ra Princess of Power. Since this dream was unobtainable, she spent what was probably way too long in college trying to "find herself." Becoming an artist scratched the creative itch until the stories in her head got to be too loud for her to get anything else accomplished. She lives in St. Louis with her husband, son, and Flemish Giant rabbit, Chloe. In her spare time she likes to read, stalk celebrities on Twitter, and create the type of art people scratch their heads about.

The final journey of the Saving Angels series has come to an end. All roads have led you to….

“What’s the address?” she asks.

“Eleven Sparrow Way.”

She closes her eyes for a moment. “I like that. Our journey has flown us here, flown us home….”

Gabriel Roberts found his happily ever after at The Crossroads of his life. He found his brother, Michael, his history in the Legion, and the love of his life, his Evangeline. He has finally arrived at the place he always yearned for—home.

But time stops for no one; not even an angel.

For years Gabriel has guarded what is most precious to him, Evangeline and their transcendent love story. When the opportunity presents itself in an unexpected way, Gabriel decides to tell his story, and in doing so, answers the riddle of his heart: If life is the journey of years, perhaps love is the journey of a lifetime?

My eyes savor every inch of her bare flesh. The gentle sway of her body, the way her waist melts into her rolling, swinging hips. Her body is soft, but firm. Her eyes are full of longing and bright fire. Her stare melts me, like a slow burn. My will drips, drips, drips as she moves into me.

“I can’t get you close enough, fast enough,” I breathe. I want to drink her, absorb her, until every pore in my body is overflowing with her. Her tongue tastes like warm, sweet honey. I can never have enough of her this way. Of this I am infinitely positive.

Her head tilts backward. Her lips curl in an upward smile of pleasure. Her hair falls around her back, uncovering her breasts. The sweet smell from her bare skin enraptures me. Her hands rush through my hair. She traces the lines of my face; her fingertips seem to float across my skin. “Memorizing you,” she breathes out as her hands make their way to my body, undressing me.

I move into her, trembling, dripping with heat. My fingers pulsate and pull against her soft skin and her knees buckle.

“When you touch me, you feel like thunder pounding against my skin,” she whispers.

I’m careful now—the want needs to grow until it can no longer be controlled. Like a beast being released after years of being caged.

The tension builds, causing my soul to stir.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Annie has a habit of shortening her words and telling long stories. She speaks with a southern flair and cooks with it too. At the tender age of twenty- one, she hitched up her wagons (took her first plane ride) and moved out west to the big shake (California).

Her writing career began one sleepless night when she imagined a gorgeous woman and a man with maniacal hair floating above her like lightening bugs falling from the sky. Curious about them, their story, and why they were floating around in her head, she sat down and penned (typed) her first novel, Marigny Street. A dream come true for her, she hasn't stopped writing since. She loves a damn good love story, always has, no matter what the genre. She is particularly moved by imperfect love that in its own unique way is perfect, the notion of love at first sight, soul mates, and things that are generally out of the norm.

When she's not writing she enjoys dabbling in photography and finding new, inspirational music to add to her collection. Deciding on a whim to hitch up those same wagons, Annie currently resides in Texas (where everything is bigger) with her husband, daughter, and their two peculiar dogs, Boudreaux and Tabasco (who, call her crazy, bark with an accent).

SynopsisIf…
Someone hadn't scarred my face.
I hadn’t followed my dreams to LA.
That tweaker hadn't attacked that homeless guy.
I hadn't invited a stranger over for Thanksgiving.
I hadn’t fallen in love.

If I hadn’t lost him.
------
If…
I hadn’t gone for that drive.
I saw the world like everyone else.
My “genius” wasn’t slowly destroying me.
I had just walked away before I could ever know her.
She hadn’t ignited the spark.

If the spark didn’t ignite the madness.

Excerpt“Let’s start with something simple. How about a tree, in the fall, so you can play with color?”She smiled. “That sounds perfect.”“Okay, we’re going to use acrylic because if you make a mistake, you can paint over it as soon as it dries.”“Oh ye of little faith,” she said, coming over to stand in front of me at the easel. She was so close, I could feel her warmth even though we weren’t touching. The pale glow that surrounded her now grazed me.I squeezed out green and white and showed her how to mix for the right shade. Then I told her to lay down short, staccato thrusts, but her swipes were, frankly, juvenile and clunky. “No, see, you are trying to draw the tree. You just need to focus on the leaf, and then pull that back to how the light hits the leaf because a leaf, even a leaf that you just see as green, is many shades of green.”“And this is why I’m a dancer,” Bird said. “Here,” I said, grabbing some of the brush handle from behind, “let me guide you.” It was a mistake. Her lavender scent grew strong, and I could smell her fruity shampoo on top of it, and the curves of her behind pressed against my pelvis. The heat rolled down my neck, and to my fingertips. Even though I was touching wood, I felt the warmth of the coziest blanket rubbing against them. “Okay,” she said in barely a whisper. Her voice moved in transparent cerulean and seafoam wavelengths in my line of sight. I slid my hands up the edge of the brush, so my hand was over her delicate hand. And shit, I am only a man and I just wanted her so bad. But, I focused on the empty sheet on the easel. “So you start soft, tentative, until you find a rhythm.” My words were barely a breeze against her ear. “Just relax.” I gently guided her hand and she let me take over. I used the hand of my muse to fill the canvas with strokes of green. “This will be the foundation, but soon we’ll fill it with browns and oranges, even pinks.”“We? You’re doing all the work, but I like it that way,” she said, almost woozily, as if she were in the same trance as me. She leaned back, resting her head against the front of my shoulder. My heart thudded so hard, I was afraid she would be able to feel it. I guided her hand to a cup of water and she dropped the brush. But I didn’t let go. I didn’t want to let go, and I don’t think she wanted me to either. “Let’s come back to this, we can work on it a little each day,” she said, turning her palm up so she could thread her fingers into mine. The heat was everywhere, like a warm rush of water, lulling me to do whatever the hell she wanted. “Now, I show you how to dance.” She turned, using my hand, and then she was facing me. Her skin radiated through tiny freckles on her cheeks and nose. The next song on the album played. “I love this song,” Bird said, pulling me to the open floor in front of the record player as “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart” began to play. “There’s only one way to dance to a song like this,” she said, stepping in close, guiding my hands to her waist, as she wrapped hers around my neck. There was too much. A kaleidoscope of lilting colors, the strong scent of lavender, a sweet taste like nectar, the blooming warmth rushing through my body. I am only a man.

Mia SullivanBlue eyes & Brown hairNewly divorcedMother to AdamArtist

Mia's POV
Ever since Mark left last year, sleep and I have broken up as well. I’ve tried damn near everything to keep her close—counting sheep, noise machines, sleeping pills, even hypnotherapy—but nothing works. She officially hates me.If I’m lucky, I get four or five hours straight, but most of the time, it’s a couple of two to three hour stretches a night. So it’s no surprise to me now, as I lie awake in the dead of night, with the clock reading three-fifteen, I’m unable to fall back asleep.Crawling out of bed, wearing only a tank top and a pair of tiny pajama shorts, I slide my feet into my fluffy slippers and pad down the stairs to make some coffee. If I’m up, I might as well be alert and functioning, as I often do my best brainstorming and creative work in the wee hours of the morning. I flip the power switch on the Jura Pro 10, the Rolex of coffeemakers and my most valued possession, prior to snagging the cream and sugar.Once my caramel vanilla cream coffee is mixed just perfectly and everything is put away, I spin around on my heel to go and hole myself up in my art room for the rest of the morning, only to find a man—a very large, shirtless man—shuffling into the kitchen, rubbing his groggy eyes. Scaring the shit out of me, the mug slips from my hands and shatters on the floor, splashing the scalding hot liquid all over the travertine tile, as well as my legs and feet.“Oh shit! Are you okay?!” As soon as I hear the deep voice, I immediately realize the stranger is Grayson, Adam’s longtime best friend. “I’m so sorry, Ms. Sullivan. I didn’t know you were down here. I didn’t mean to startle you. I’m so very sorry. Are you okay?”Rushing around the kitchen island and over to me as he apologizes repeatedly, he squats down next to where I’m picking up the broken pieces of ceramic and begins to help.“It’s okay, Gray. I know you didn’t mean to, sweetie. I just didn’t realize anyone else was home,” I assure him, lifting my focus from the floor up to smile at him.Familiar chocolate brown eyes full of concern meet mine and then drop down to my legs. “Look,” he motions his hand towards my feet, “it’s all over you too. Sit down so I can help clean you up.”“I said I’m fine. I’ll go wash myself off after I get the mess on the floor.”“Ms. Sullivan, you most likely have burns on your legs, and possibly cuts too. Please, let me take a look; the floor can wait,” he urges, tapping on my knee.I’m not really quite sure why, perhaps it’s the early morning hour or lack of caffeine in my blood stream, but I sit down, the floor cool on the backs of my legs, and extend my legs out in front of me, even as I say, “I really think I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt that bad.”Standing up, he snags a dish towel off the counter and runs it under the cold water at the sink before kneeling back down next to me and swiping the terry cloth up and down the lower part of my legs and around my feet. As he double-checks it’s all been cleaned off of my exposed skin, I find myself studying him, noticing how different he looks since the last time I saw him.Maybe it’s just that his currently disheveled, thick black hair has grown out considerably since he’s been in Spain. No, that can’t be it. Maybe it’s his chiseled jawline, which is covered in a couple days’ worth of dark stubble. As my gaze drops lower to his bare chest, I can’t help but notice he has broader shoulders than I remembered, and holy hell, look at those abs. I thought those only existed courtesy of photoshop and airbrushes. Barcelona must have some great gyms, and apparently Gray spent his fair share of time in them. But even that’s not it. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but he just looks so much…older.Even though he was a year ahead of Adam in school, I never really thought of Gray as being older. He stayed home to go to UGA, so even while Adam was in his senior year at Clarke Central High School, Gray was still around quite a bit. Sure, I was aware Gray was a good-looking kid—he and Adam both have always been handsome and popular, and there has never been a shortage of giggling girls hanging around them—but now…now something has changed. I’m not sure if it’s because I haven’t seen him in nearly a year, or if being on his own in a foreign country forced him to mature quickly, but my kid’s best friend is now, most definitely, a man.He clears his throat, ripping me from my borderline-impure thoughts, and my guilty eyes snap up to meet his. Smirking, almost as if he can read my mind, he lightly squeezes my calf, and a heated flush of embarrassment spreads rapidly across my chest, up my neck, and into my cheeks like a raging forest fire out of control.“No cuts, and though the burns don’t look too bad, you may want to put a little cream on them,” he says with a light chuckle, glancing back down at my leg. “And I’m really digging the glittery blue toenail polish.”Jerking my foot from his grasp, I scramble back to my feet. “I—uh, I let the girl talk me into something different. I’m not sure…uh, sure what I was thinking really,” I stammer, still ashamed over my earlier thoughts.“I was just teasing you,” he replies as he stands up next to me, grinning widely. “You don’t need to get embarrassed. You’ve got cute toes.”Did he just say I have cute toes? Oh Lord, I need to regain control of this conversation again. Fast.“I’m glad you appreciate my Smurfette piggies, Gray,” I joke, trying to redirect my train of thought and lighten the conversation. Grabbing a plastic bag and the disinfecting wipes, I finish cleaning up the broken cup and coffee splattered about. “What are you doing down here anyway? Shouldn’t you be sleeping until noon, like most young people do in the summer?” That’s right, Mia. He may look like a man, but he’s a young person, and you aren’t.He shrugs, grabs two fresh mugs from the wooden cabinet, and fills them both about three-quarters full as I throw away the mess. “Typically, yes, but I’m still not back on Georgia time yet. My body can’t figure out if it’s day or night, whether it should be awake or asleep.”At the mention of his body, my eyes instinctively drop to his very bare, very muscular torso and arms, and I feel a tightening sensation in my belly.“How do you take your coffee, Ms. Sullivan?” His gravelly voice rips me from my apparent gawking. Again.I lift my eyes back up to his, which are dancing with amusement, and the embarrassment I felt a few minutes ago morphs into full-fledged mortification. My son’s friend just caught me checking him out like I’m a disgusting, desperate pervert. What in the hell is wrong with me?“Your coffee?” he asks again, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “Do you like cream and sugar in it?”With a faint nod, I mumble a ‘yeah’, wishing I could escape back up to my room and hide in my bed until I’m sure he’s gone. However, I’m afraid that would make this entire situation even more awkward than it’s already become. I really need to get a hold of myself.Inhaling a deep breath, I pull myself together and do what every dignified adult in my situation would do—I pretend the last ten minutes never happened.I push my shoulders back and raise my chin as I walk over to the pantry and grab the sugar and powdered creamer, and then set it down next to the two freshly poured cups. “So how was your trip? Adam said you got in a couple of days ago.”“It was incredible—the people, the food, the history…all of it. Immersing myself in another culture like that was so eye-opening.” He stirs the accompaniments into both before sliding one of the mugs across the marble countertop in front of me. “I can’t wait to go back.”“Sounds like you had a blast. I’d love to travel to Europe someday.” I blow across the steam rising from my cup before taking a sip, unable to contain the tiny moan of delight as both the smell and taste of the sweet coffee engulfs my senses.“You definitely should,” he says matter-of-factly. I can feel his heavy stare on me, and against my better judgment, I peer over at him, careful to keep my gaze above his neck. “Especially now that you’ve got nothing holding you back, Ms. Sullivan.”Reality slams down around me with the reference to my recently single status along with the asshole’s last name. I’ve officially hit an all-time low as I stand in my kitchen thinking marginally indecent thoughts about a kid nearly half my age, imagining he’s actually flirting with me. It’s time to end this conversation. Now.“Yeah, I guess I don’t.” Forcing a tight-lipped smile, I turn to leave the kitchen, still mentally berating myself for acting like a pathetic idiot. “I’m going to paint for a while. Make yourself at home, Gray,” I call out over my shoulder before disappearing into my safe haven.

Synopsis: Players gotta play.
Hate is like a poison. It contaminates everything.

So does doubt.

Even though I deny what I overheard, even though I insist it isn’t true, the seed of doubt has been planted. I can’t help but be tormented with the endless what-if’s that have taken over our lives.

Romeo and I were happy in love. The future stretched before us brighter than any star in the darkest sky. Now everything is broken. Literally broken. Romeo’s entire career is at stake, my entire future is threatened… and my past?

It’s coming back to haunt me.

To haunt us.

Romeo says we’re in this together and right now the only sure thing is us. But how far can a love so new be pushed? The lengths we will have to go to save each other puts everything at risk.

Romeo is a #player but how much of the game can one person play?

There's danger in the beauty...

Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That's how long it had been since I'd seen my winged hero— not that I'd been counting. I'd suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn't crazy and knew he didn't exist.

But he did. And I was done waiting.

Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier... thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures.

Excerpt

We stood awkwardly for another moment before I had to break the silence. “It’s been a while.”

“Two and a half years.”

“I thought about you the past few Halloweens.”

“I thought about you more than that. It’s actually pretty humiliating now that I’m standing in the same room with you. I don’t know what I was thinking.” She looked away.

“I lied.”

“About?”

I walked toward her. I had to wipe that regret off her face. “I thought about you a lot more than just Halloween.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.” I stopped right in front of her. “You were very memorable.”

“So were you.” She licked her lips. Again with the lips.

“I probably should ask you a million questions right now, but would it be okay if we put those off and did something else?”

“I guess that depends on what else you want to do?” Her eyes widened slightly.

“I want to kiss you.”

“I’m okay with that.” Her eyes seemed to sparkle.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

I didn’t wait for her to change her mind. I brushed my lips against hers gently. I was going to keep it short, but I had to know if I was glorifying the last kiss.

She moved her lips against mine, and any thoughts of keeping it short disappeared. I wrapped my arms around her as I deepened the kiss, greedily pushing for access beyond those irresistible lips of hers. She opened up, welcoming me in with the same intoxicating taste as she had the last time.

She moaned, encouraging me to continue the kiss. I didn’t need the encouragement. I lifted her up and carried her over to the couch. I sat down, settling her on my lap. I needed her close, closer than standing would allow.

Her fingers tangled in my hair as she let me explore her mouth. My hands ached to explore more, but I didn’t want to rush it. I’d waited over two years to taste her lips again, and I was going to enjoy every second of it.

Book Review: Dirty Ties

Dirty Ties by Pam Godwin: Revenge.
I race to finance it.
I evade to protect it.
I kill to attain it.
I planned everything.

Except her.
The alluring, curvaceous blonde at the finish line.
With sapphire eyes that cheat and lie.
Whose powerful family murdered mine.

I hate her.
I want her.

I know she’s hiding something.
But so am I.
TeriLyn's thoughts: Dirty Ties stands as my first Pam Godwin book and will certainly not be my last. I really just want to stop real life and devour each and every one of her stories because Dirty Ties was beyond good for me and I'm so excited to have discovered a new author.

"The strongest love begins from a place of conflict." Her words effortlessly draw you into her world with vividly descriptive writing, Pam Godwin makes the reader feel alive with this dark, twisty love story between Logan Flynt and Kaci Baskel. The plot of this book so layered and perfectly executed. I'm in awe of the calculated way Godwin slowly pieces together the mystery of the story, always giving just enough but never everything until the most pivotal point. Her writing style was flawless in navigating this complicated web of a story.

A dark, passionate adventure describes this book. Dirty Ties is like Pam Godwin's contemporary version of Batman. Logan Flynt, a modern day vigilante seeks revenge on people who forever changed the course of his life. Thanks to Godwin's writing, the danger of the story wrapped around Logan bleeding into Kaci makes these characters that much more appealing. A strong hero and heroine who alter their fates to accept the undeniable storm the create in each other.

Adventure. Danger. Lust. Thrills. Betrayal. Loyalty. Lies. Passion. Forever.

If you love dark romances full of adrenaline with strong characters you don't want to pass on Dirty Ties. You heart will hurt, race, hope, and soar over this story.

Book Review: Three Simple Rules

Three Simple Rules (Blindfold Club #1) by Nikki Sloane: I would do anything for my dream job. Now I have to.

In order to save my skin at the office, I'm forced to sell it at an exclusive and illegal blindfold club. He paid thousands of dollars for one night to own me, but when my blindfold comes off, I want more. More nights, more rules, and more from this unavailable and uncompromising man.

Rule number one, no questions. Rule number two, no lies. But, rule number three? That's the hardest one to obey.

TeriLyn's thoughts: **Three Simple Rules generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**

4 "You're breaking my rule..." Hearts

I was asked to read and review Three Simple Rules and feel grateful that I was and had the chance to read this story. It wasn't an epic read for me but it's well-written, imaginative, and just plain erotic fun.

Evie works for Logan. Logan acts like a jerk boss. Quite unusual circumstances bring them together for a night of unbridled passion and a secret, office love affair ensues.

The depth of the story doesn't run deep. They aren't seriously scorned lovers or two people with terribly scarred pasts. But rather, two people who take passion to the edge with their flair for the erotic and make witty banter a good portion of their budding relationship. This author writes hot sex. The sexual tension between Logan & Evie is palpable throughout the story. The author didn't hesitate to explore the sexual prowess of these two, something neither of them were expecting, and she's done it quite convincingly. Each of these characters remain equally honest with what they share and don't hesitate to let each other know the fire they feel for each other. Slight drama creates surface level drama as the arc of the story relies heavily on the sexual relationship of these two and where the go from how they started.

Three Simple Rules stands alone as a can't miss fun, erotic adventure with compelling, sassy dialogue and a fast-moving plot. I read this book in one evening, easily turning the pages absorbed in the fun story Niki Sloane gave us. I'm excited I was able to read this and look forward to the next book in the series.
