“You scare me.” I decided to go as honest as I could. My heart was pounding with both my admission and something else I couldn’t identify.

She scoffed. “Uh, do you see me? How can this—” she gestured to herself “—intimidate you?”

I slowly perused her from her sandal-clad feet, up the short black dress, and all the way to her now flushing face. “Yeah. I see you,” I whispered as I peered into her deep brown eyes.

She was dumbstruck at my words and let her guard down for a second. Then she seemed to snap out of it, shaking her head as if to clear her thoughts. “Screw this.” Kate turned, breaking our stare down to jam her key into the lock.

So quickly that even I didn’t know how it happened, I moved and suddenly I had her pinned against the wall next to the door. Her purse and keys clattered to the floor. “Hey!” she started to protest, but she trailed off as she realized that our faces were inches away from each other—a fact that I was now also painfully aware of. I had her hands restrained above her head with both of my own, and my lower body was against hers so that she couldn’t move. “Tristan, what—” she started to ask.

“I don’t know,” I managed to get out before my lips crashed into hers. I moaned when her mouth immediately opened to me. And she answered me back with her own sweet whimper as our tongues tangled together. She wiggled until she was able to hook one of her long legs around my waist. I let go of her hands to grab both of her legs, running my hands up and down her smooth thighs before resting my hold under her ass so I could grip her tighter against me. I couldn’t stop—I needed to explore all of her mouth, memorize the sounds she made, and show her all the things I couldn’t say with words.

After I had released her hands, Kate ran them over my chest, causing me to groan and push her harder against the wall, and then she tangled them in my hair. She anchored me to her, and I was too far gone to care about what any of this even meant anymore. Kate, Kate, Kate. I want you. But I know I shouldn’t. I don’t want to hurt you, beautiful girl. Give me what I don’t know I want.
Both our phones started to ring, the piercing tones shattering the moment. And I wanted nothing more than to stay in that moment—wrapped up in Kate. Kate was the first to break away, breathing heavily. I leaned my forehead against hers, still holding her up. Her eyes remained closed, but I kept mine open to watch her. I didn’t know what to say to her now. No words could convey what had just happened between us. All I knew was that I wanted more—more of her taste, more of her moans, more of her pressed against me—but I didn’t know how to tell her that. “Put me down,” she commanded softly as she opened her eyes.

T.N. Cole spends her time seeking new adventures, determined to make her life a memorable story. A recent graduate with a bachelor in biology, T.N. is headed to graduate school at Texas Tech to pursue her long time dream of becoming a pharmacist. When she's not reading, writing, or studying, you'll find her trying to stay out of trouble or planning her ultimate dream of traveling the world.

Book Review: Truth or Beard

Truth or Beard (Winston Brothers #1)
by Penny Reid

Beards, brothers, and bikers! Oh my!
Identical twins Beau and Duane Winston might share the same devastatingly handsome face, but where Beau is outgoing and sociable, Duane is broody and reserved. This is why Jessica James, recent college graduate and perpetual level headed good girl, has been in naïve and unhealthy infatuation with Beau Winston for most of her life. His friendly smiles make her tongue-tied and weak-kneed, and she’s never been able to move beyond her childhood crush. Whereas Duane and Jessica have always been adversaries. She can’t stand him, and she’s pretty sure he can’t stand the sight of her…
But after a case of mistaken identity, Jessica finds herself in a massive confusion kerfuffle. Jessica James has spent her whole life paralyzed by the fantasy of Beau and her assumptions of Duane’s disdain; therefore she’s unprepared for the reality that is Duane’s insatiable interest, as well as his hot hands and hot mouth and hotter looks. Not helping Jessica’s muddled mind and good girl sensibilities, Duane seems to have gotten himself in trouble with the local biker gang.
Certainly, Beau’s magic spell is broken. Yet when Jessica finds herself drawn to the man who was always her adversary, now more dangerous than ever, how much of her level-headed heart is she willing to risk?

Series Description:
Everyone in Green Valley, Tennessee knows that the six bearded Winston brothers have been imbued with an unfair share of charm and charisma… and are prone to mischief.
Truth or Beard is book #1 in the Winston Brother’s series. Each book is a standalone, full length (120k words), contemporary romantic comedy novel, and follows the romantic exploits and adventures of one of the six Winston Brothers.

TeriLyn's thoughts: Truth or Beard comes as my first Penny Reid story and it certainly won't be my last. I adored her brand of witty dialogue and fun story telling. Although there were moments in the book I felt agitated at the hero it was never enough to lead me astray. I read this first contemporary installment with dual points of view over the course of three days and each time I picked the book up again I was excited at the prospect of reading more of Duane Winston and Jessica James.

The two of them have known each other for years. The old adage "they only tease you because the like you" when it comes to boys and girls in youth rings quite true. Jessica has no idea the torch Duane holds for her until she return to Green Valley from college. Hilarity and a bit of chasing ensues while the two navigate the new storm of feelings thundering between them. Each of them bring something great to the reading table. Duane with his serious yet swoony word play. Jessica with her fast come backs and openly vulnerable, honest disposition.

Each grew up in Green Valley and made me feel right at home in their hillbilly town. Reid writes about Green Valley in such a way you feel like you're a part of the landscape having fun along withe her characters. But while Duane holds tight to his Green Valley roots and a sense of obligation, Jessica feels determined to spread her wings with a sense of freedom - thus there lies the angst for the characters and drives the the story. Throw in some unsavory bikers, an eclectic and interesting supporting cast, smart and hot Winston brothers and you've got yourself a good time.

I look forward to reading more stories about the Winston brothers and their exploits with the opposite sex. Penny Reid has quite a knack for writing quirky, fun books - I'm glad I finally read her writing.

Book Review: Spencer

Spencer
by Kerry Heavens

@TheSpencerRyan exudes confidence,
I mean, have you seen him???
His dark good looks and tattooed muscled perfection are too much.
He's hot. Lickably hot.
And he has a way with words that leaves me breathless.
But cocky doesn't even cover it,
this guy is so arrogant you have to fight back.
But God he's so lickable!
The thing is though,
he looks like sex but he'll taste like jackass.

@OMGJazzyP is a sexy, annoying ball of rage in fuck-me heels
and she hates me.
Although her nipples would tend to disagree.
It's a deadly combination.
She’s a princess.
And when I say princess, I mean intolerable, spoiled brat with a tiara.
Sure she's got that curvaceous goddess thing going on,
but that mouth of hers...
God it needs something in it to shut it up.
#GotJustTheThingRightHere

This is not your average British romance.
It's a tale of high heels, hot tattooed bad boys and
sex oranges, all wrapped up in a coating of chocolate.
It's 'love' in a social media world,
where not everyone is who they seem
and where some people’s bios should carry a warning.
#JustSayin
TeriLyn's thoughts: I feel really bad because so many of my GR friends loved this very much. I've been wanting to read it for a while now and I thought the cover was hot. Unfortunately, Spencer just wasn't for me. I could not get on board with Spencer Ryan Twitter antics. A man that self absorbed isn't a man that appeals to me. There's a difference between being an arrogant jerk and being a confident jerk. I liked the cocky manwhore he was outside of Twitter which was directly opposite of how the heroine Jazz felt giving me less of a kinship with her. She was way too back and forth for me. Throughout the entire book her feelings juggled between lust and hate making it seem unfathomable how one could continue on the same course of action with this man. The whole story felt juvenile and underdeveloped because of how they acted. Normally, stories of "I hate you/I like you/I need to bang you" are right up my alley but I couldn't connect with either character nor could I understand their connection especially for two people in their mid-twenties. The whole Twitter act throughout the entire story seemed very adolescent. The only silver lining for me was Mags and Will, each of the main characters friends.

There are a lot of hot sex scenes in Spencer where the writer did a great job with the passion. If she could have made their dialogue richer and more mature those scenes could have really hooked me, even the cyber ones. Her writing was fast and easy to follow just not powerful enough to hook me. I'd classify this as steamy NA and it's told from both characters points of view.

Book Review: The Hotel:Part One

The Hotel (A Billionaire Seduction #1)
by Lola Darling

“The best sex is hotel sex…”

Welcome to the Rexford, the most luxurious hotel in town. My internship is a dream come true – until I walk in to my first meeting and discover my one-night stand at the head of the boardroom.

Controlling billionaire, Dominic Rexford: CEO - and the man I was secretly hired to seduce.

Now, I just want to keep my head down and stay out of trouble, but Dom has different plans.

He wants a repeat of our wild night together – and he’ll do whatever it takes to get me back between those 700-thread count sheets.

I’m in trouble now…

*Part one of the sexy, scandalous new series*
TeriLyn's thoughts: **The Hotel generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**
I really enjoyed the start to Lola Darling's debut series. The Hotel introduces us to Juliet Evans and Dominic Rexford who meet under unusual circumstances. Their meet ramps up the sexual tension between the two as Dominic holds nothing back. Juliet, though a little out of her usual element, is fun and flirty right back leading to a very sexy night. The story was a perfect length for a novella and I felt what the author chose to portray really fit the story. There were no frivolous details that didn't fit the story and likewise all details provided intrigued me more.

As the story progresses it seems these two have a lot in common including the sexual tension. Lola Darling's writing really drew me into the story and kept the plot flowing to where I found myself wanting much more Dominic and Juliet. There were a couple times during the well-developed angst created between these two where I had wished Juliet made a different choice and while I don't agree with the choice she still made me believe in her character. It's interesting because I found her to be quite cute when she was frivolous and not inside her own head. I'm very interested to see where the author takes Juliet.

Bottom line is these two were fun. It's a cat and mouse game between a billionaire CEO and quirky college intern that starts off unusually and takes some turn that while I expected them left me excited for more of the story. Some questions are left unanswered about where the plot will go and characters introduced in Part One including the author leaving us hanging a bit at the end. As a lover of all cliff hangers, I thought Ms. Darling ended Part One in a perfect spot. Not too major but she dangled the carrot far enough out of reach that I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for more Dominic and Juliet. I'm excited for the next installment and grateful to have been allowed to read The Hotel. If you're looking for a short, fun, new series with a hot alpha and sweet heroine this is your series!

Book Review: The Hotel: Part Two

The Hotel Part 2 (A Billionaire Seduction #2)
by Lola Darling

“The best sex is hotel sex…”

Billionaire Dominic Rexford, CEO of the Rexford luxury hotel brand. Mysterious, controlling – and my new boss. He’s man who always gets what he wants, whether it’s in the boardroom or the bedroom.

And now he wants me.

But I’ve got secrets he can never know. And when his brother returns to claim his share of the company, the truth could tear all of us apart.

*Part two of the sexy, scandalous new series*
TeriLyn's thoughts: The Hotel Part 2 picks up right where the first book left us hanging with Juliet deciding just how much she wants Dominic Rexford in her life. I really enjoyed this installment of the series. The characters connections felt real and a little wild as Juliet swept away by Dominic's charm and ruthless passion. The Rexford Hotel in this addition to the story added great personality to the words as all Juliet's visions for the historic property come alive with her character. A lot of trust was placed in her from Dominic and I felt him opening up to her in a grand way. Near the end the drama takes hold without letting go until we reach the inevitable ....

Anyone who enjoys short, fun, sexy, contemporary reads with a punch written from the heroine's POV will enjoy reading The Hotel series.

Book Review: The Hotel: Book Three

The Hotel Part 3 (A Billionaire Seduction #3)
by Lola Darling

“The best sex is hotel sex…”

My secret is out. Now commanding billionaire Dominic Rexford knows the truth, he wants me gone from his luxury hotel. My career is over before it’s even begun – unless I make a deal with the devil to earn back his trust.

But there’s more than just my heart on the line. The stakes are rising, and someone isn’t playing by the rules. How far will Dom go to crush the competition? And when the time comes, will he choose his empire – or me?

*the final part of the sexy, scandalous series*
TeriLyn's thoughts: **The Hotel Part 3 generously provided by the tour promoters in exchange for an honest review.**
The final installment in the story of Dominic Rexford and Juliet Evans satisfies the readers! Another example of a short, punchy read Lola Darling writes in a way that allows you be charmed by the heroine's confidence, the changes in Dominic, the new characters she sheds interesting lights on, and the majesty of her setting at the historic Rexford Hotel in Chicago.

Dominic and Juliet are at odds to start off Part 3 and I loved how the author took what went down in Part 2 and totally took it in a direction I didn't expect with the characters she took on in Part Three. Dominic has a major attitude, let's say, in Part 3 where we see another side of him only Juliet can soften. Juliet's character could have taken on the world in my opinion.

This series has been fun to read with characters I'm excited I've met. There were a few loose ends I felt needed tied up better and I was really hoping for a more climactic ending to the series. We get very sweet and very sexy and it worked for these two characters. I'm excited to have been introduced to the author Lola Darling and her work. I'll be looking for more fun, HOT, contemporary serials from her in the future!

Hearts are fragile, and mine's been shattered before...

I have always thought of love in the abstract, never something to come true. My past has shown me time after time that those who are supposed to love you will only lead you to disappointment. Destiny, fate, chance...those are things that I never believed in.

Until him.

A chance encounter with a distinct pair of blue eyes and a heart-melting smile challenges my knowledge of life and love.

Because there's something about this stranger that has me believing in the possibility of more...

Amazon

My eyes fall on his full lips. Lips I want to taste for myself and to have them touch my skin again, in any way, shape or form.

Now’s my chance.

I lean forward, closing the distance between us and press my lips to his. It’s impulsive. It’s not something I would do, but there is no denying I want to do it, I need to do it.

I’m kissing a stranger. And I like it.

His lips are soft and sweet, the residual wine still faintly present on them. Slowly my lips move against his, careful not to push it further than I’m prepared for at the moment. Instinct takes over and I move closer to him, seeking his warmth and comfort, knowing it’s him my body craves. The blood rushes through my ears as the world drifts off into nothingness around us. It’s hands down the most perfect goodbye kiss I’ve ever experienced in my life.

Reluctantly I pull back, missing the contact instantly. He reaches up and cups my cheek, pressing his forehead against mine. Our noses touch. His breath is warm against my lips. I feel something pass between us, something pulling me further into him, telling me that I need to be with him. I know he feels it too because his free hand rests on my lower back, pulling me closer to him. I grab the lapels of his coat as I close my eyes and regain my composure.

“You feel it, don’t you,” he says, breaking the silence. It isn’t a question, so much, as it is a statement of fact.

The world restarts around us, the noise coming back into my senses, reminding me we’re standing on the street in a very public display of affection. Embarrassment sets in as I risk the glance into his eyes, knowing full well that I’m helpless to resist him.

I nod my head and pull away slowly, needing to put some space between us so I can regain my thoughts.

“Goodnight, Andrew.”

His fingers drag slowly across my lower back as I turn toward my car. Risking a glance over my shoulder, I can’t help the smile that appears when I see him place his hands in his pockets. A satisfied smile beams back at me as I disappear into the back of the car, sliding next to Kara.

ExcerptI pulled the cruiser into Jackie’s driveway. What the hell was wrong with me? It was only yesterday that I’d gotten her off and yet here I was, sitting unannounced in her driveway like a stalker.

If I’d thought it difficult to get her off my mind before, what had happened in the wine cellar had made it damn near impossible.

Everyone I’d talked to had said the same thing—that she’d turned down each and every cop or fireman that had asked her out. No one was sure if she was just trying to keep her personal life outside of the work environment or what, but I intended to find out. The insane pull between us didn’t leave me any other choice.

With a sigh, I unbuckled my seatbelt and glanced at the small bungalow. It was cute with white siding and black shutters. Hanging baskets of colorful flowers hung from hooks around the veranda and a kickass bicycle was leaning against the side of the house. That helped to explain why she had such a firm ass.

I opened the door to the cruiser when the front door of the house burst open, and Jackie stood there frozen, her hand held to her chest and such an expression of fear on her face that I bolted out of the car and up the front steps.

“What’s wrong?” I demanded as soon as I was in front of her.

“Wh-what are you doing here?” she asked in barely a whisper.

I relaxed a fraction once it was clear she was okay. “I figured you could use a lift to Don’s place for your car. Didn’t think you would’ve driven home last night.” I shrugged. “It’s been quiet today, so I popped by to see if you wanted me to drive you over.”

She released a pent-up breath and relief washed over her face. “Oh, thank God.”

I frowned and gripped her upper arms. “What’s going on? Everything okay?”

She glanced down at where my hands lay on her soft skin and looked back up to me, blinking twice. “It’s nothing. When I saw the cruiser in the driveway...never mind.” She shook her head.

I studied her for a moment. She was sexy just rolling out of bed with her hair thrown in a messy bun and last night’s make-up still on her face. “You sure?”

She nodded and her eyes flicked down to my hands once more. “Why are you always touching me whenever I see you?” Her voice had come out all breathy, not at all convincing me that she didn’t like my hands right where they were.

I grazed her collarbones with my thumbs, causing goose bumps to form on her skin. “I think you know exactly why.”
