He pulled out her chair and she sat, watching his every move as he made his way to his own seat. “I hope this is okay. This is the most private table they have.”

“It’s perfect.” She tried to breathe normally and ignore the strange feeling in her stomach.
Trace grinned, revealing the boyish dimples that framed his perfect mouth.

“They have the best steak here. Seriously. You better order one for yourself because you’re not getting any of mine.”

At that, she laughed and her nerves eased up a bit. “Oh, I bet you’d give me a bite if I asked nicely.”

He eyed her from over the top of his menu. “Do you ask for things nicely? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you do that before.”

With her stomach clenching from the heat in his stare, Kylie put her menu aside. “Maybe you’ve never had anything I wanted badly enough to ask nicely for.”
He raised a brow and opened his mouth to respond. But at that same moment, a waitress appeared and asked for their drink order. Kylie didn’t miss how flustered the girl became when she got an eyeful of Trace. It would’ve been irritating, but really, with the way he looked tonight, Kylie couldn’t blame her. She was still trying to get a handle on her own self.

When the waitress left, Trace leaned across the table. “Actually, I take that back. I’ve heard you ask nicely a time or two. Matter of fact, it bordered on begging. I think it went something like, ‘Oh God, yes, please. Trace, please.’”

Heat crawled over her skin at his imitation of her. Barely keeping the grin of embarrassment from her face, she shook her head. “You’re not right. What kind of thing is that to say to a girl on a first date?”
He grinned back, the promise of something dark gleaming in his eyes.

“Considering this date is going to end with that dress on my bedroom floor and your legs wrapped around my neck, I think it’s a perfectly acceptable thing to say.”
Good Lord. What was she going to do with this man? Oh yeah. Exactly what he’d just described.

Whairigail's thoughts: **5 Cowgirl Boot hearts**

I adored Girl with Guitar - It was a sweet, touching, sexy and filled with laughter. This meant I was waiting with bated breath for Girl On Tour and Caisey Quinn did not dissappoint!

"It's like you were made for me"

This book picks up where Girl with Guitar left off [and for those of you who have not read GwG, this may contain spoilers so stop reading now if you havn't finished GwG!] and starts with Kylie & Trace spending time together at his house with his sisters. Who, dissappointingly don't have much of a part in this novel (hopefully we will get more from them in book 3!).

The sizzling passion between Kylie and Trace just drips off the page - and we are treated to our first sexual encounter in the first 3%. Warning Ladies - Please don't read in public...you may get a bit hot and bothered!

"He walked them forward, still holding her in mid-air as he pressed her up against the interior wall of the barn. We're about to fuck outside. Up against the barn. Surely that's gotta count as wild sex."

""Hold on tight, baby", he rasped in her ear as he let go"

This book hurts my heart a bit. No, correction, it hurts my heart a LOT. Trace and Kylie are so in love, they melt into each other when they are together but Kylie is young and Trace is suffering from an addiction - a recipie for complete disaster.

Caisey covers the topic of alcoholism well - she makes it gritty, mean, hurtful and painful. All thing's that are true to those suffering from alcoholism and more importantly true to those who love an alcoholic. It makes for grim reading and, if you are like me, you will be SCREAMING "DON'T DO IT!" on more than one occasion.

Only brilliant authors can evoke such emotion from a reader and I think this show's the Lovely Mrs Quinn's excellence.

I fell completely in love with Kylie and Trace and loved this book just as much as Girl with Guitar. Cannot wait on Girl in Love - Hurry Up January 2014!!

Note: This book ends on a Cliff-hanger and Book 3 (Girl In Love) is not released until January 2014.

Both the book’s cover and description are awesome and more than a little bit chilling and we cannot wait for its release.

And if you can’t wait until September 20th for the release of THROUGH GLASS, the first book in her Imdalind series, KISS OF FIRE, is now available in eBook format for free at AMAZON, BARNES & NOBLE and for the KOBO.

We love the cover, but what do you think?

COMING SEPTEMBER 20TH, 2013
About THROUGH GLASS

Everyone remembers the day the sky went black. They remember the screams as the blackness ate those who were out in the open, those who surrounded themselves by light, and those who made noise.

Everyone remembers the voice from the sky, the way food disappeared.

Everyone remembers the day the sky went black, and the sun was wiped from the sky.

At least that’s what I hope. I hope that there is an ‘everyone’ that will remember.

I hope that I am not alone.

Because I remember.

I remember, because it was the day I became alone.

It was the day the house went silent, and the birds stopped singing. It was the day when everyone disappeared, everyone except the boy, the only person I have seen in two years.

The boy I talk to through the glass.

Blog Tour Giveaway & Review: Good

Good by S. Walden: Cadence Miller is a good girl. She just happens to make one terrible mistake her junior year in high school which costs her ten months in juvenile detention. Now a senior, she’s lost everything: her best friend, the trust of her parents, driving privileges, Internet access. It’s a lonely existence.

But there is one bright spot: Mark Connelly, her very cute, very off-limits 28-year-old calculus teacher. She falls hard for him—a ridiculous schoolgirl crush headed nowhere. She can’t help it. He’s the only good thing at Crestview High. She doesn't expect him to reciprocate her feelings. How inappropriate, right? But he does. And he shows her.
And that’s when her life goes from bad to good.

Good is the first book in the Too Good series, there will be a sequel!

PRODUCT DETAILS FROM AMAZON

Lori's Thoughts: I literally just finished reading Good. This is a hard review for me to write. The book was difficult for me to wrap my head around. As always, I love Summer's writing style. The humor she weaves into her writing. The magical way she writes. Good was not easy for me to love. I am still not sure how I feel about Cadence. I'm not a religious person, and no one has ever been able to accuse me of being "good." :) But the hardest struggle I had came from my intense distrust and dislike of Mark. Mr. Connelly. I wavered from thinking he was a creep to thinking he was even worse. Of course, I will have to read the next book...because our Mr. Connelly has a secret. My guess is, it's a humdinger and I have to find out if I'm right. The book ends in a good place. Is there a cliffhanger? Yes, there's a wee bit of an "OMG what's next? Now what?" The book is well written, the storyline is magnificent. The only reason I couldn't give it a 5 Heart rating is because I had a hard time connecting with Mr. Connelly and Cadence, both individually, and as a couple. Don't let the four heart rating deter you from reading the book. You might like the two main characters more than I did. :) Now, I must bite my nails until Book 2 comes along. Hopefully, soon!

Excerpt:

Angel on the highway

They couldn’t pick a busier road? Let’s just broadcast to the world what pathetic criminals we are.
I was out on Highway 28 dressed in my juvie garb finest—orange jumpsuit with bright yellow vest—walking along the shoulder picking up garbage tossed out of the car windows of other lawbreakers. I’d been assigned to a community service-based juvenile detention center. I guess I wasn’t hardcore enough to make it into the locked-down facilities. And I should have counted myself lucky: I actually got to leave the building on work assignments.
Yeah . . . whatever. I was freaking embarrassed. I was embarrassed every time they dumped me on the side of some road to pick up trash. My long blond hair was pulled up in a required ponytail highlighting flushed cheeks that turned a darker shade of red when a truck passed by slowly, honking obnoxiously, its passengers hanging out of the windows yelling at me.
“Cadence!” one shouted. “Nice outfit!”
I looked down at my jumpsuit. It was unflattering, clinging to my petite body like a baby onesie, but I could get over that. What I couldn’t get over was the hideous color that washed out my fair skin.
“Do not respond,” Officer Clements ordered.
“I wasn’t going to,” I mumbled, stabbing a Styrofoam cup with my trash stick.
“What was that?” Officer Clements asked, towering over me.
“Nothing, ma’am,” I replied, and continued my work. Just one more month, I thought, walking and jabbing, walking and jabbing.
I didn’t realize I had walked and jabbed my way down the road next to a car parked on the side, hoisted up on a jack. It was an old black Volkswagen, its owner a young man bent over changing a flat tire. Trash was littered about his work area, and I wasn’t sure if I should pick it up. But he seemed so wholly concentrated on screwing in the bolts that I was positive he’d take no notice of me.
I speared a burger wrapper near the back of the tire, and his face shot up.
My immediate reaction was to turn and run. I was afraid. I remembered a discussion in youth group a while back about angels and how every time they’re mentioned in the Bible, the first thing they say is, “Do not be afraid.” My youth pastor said that this was because angels were scary looking—eyes all over their bodies and under their wings. First of all, how did he know what an angel looked like? And second, why would God make his angels look like a bunch of freaks?
No. I didn’t think angels looked like that at all. I thought they looked like perfect symmetry, and that’s what scared the hell out of people. A form too beautiful to look upon. Like this young man bent over his tire, staring at my orange jumpsuit and trash stick, wondering what a little girl like me could have done to land in juvenile hall. Because I was little, after all. I stood at 5-foot-2 and weighed 100 pounds.
“I’ll be out of your way in a minute,” he said, wiping his brow with the back of his hand.
I nodded and watched him finish tightening the bolts, then stand and stretch his back. He wore the male version of skinny jeans and a black T-shirt that read “Midnight in a Perfect World” across the front in stark white letters. He sported red Converse All Stars, and a bunch of braided bands of various colors were wrapped around his left wrist. His black wavy hair stuck out in all directions, and I couldn’t tell if it was by nature’s blessing or hair product. I hoped it was natural. I didn’t want to think he spent a lot of time styling his hair.
He smiled at me, revealing soft dimples on both cheeks. I smiled back. His eyes were light. Good combination, I thought. Dark hair, light eyes. He was sexy. No doubt about that. Tall and lean. He looked like an intellectual. I figured he was some scholarly Emory University boy. Probably a philosophy major, I thought, smirking. I imagined he sat around chatting about existentialism with his hipster friends in some dive coffee shop (never Starbucks) sipping cappuccinos.
I giggled.
He stood at the trunk of his car putting away his tools and turned around when he heard me.
“What’s funny?” he asked. The smile still lingered on his mouth. “Did I split my pants or something?” He strained his head to look behind him at the butt of his jeans.
I laughed harder. “No. You didn’t split your pants.” I tried not to look at his butt.
“Phew!” he replied. “You know, I’ve done that in the past. Squatted on the ground to change a tire, and rip! Right down the middle. I happened to be on a date at the time.”
“No!” I cried, feeling just the slightest bit sorry for this stranger.
“Well, the date was on shaky ground once the tire popped. The pants-splitting sealed the deal, though. I guess she equated both of those things with ‘loser’ or ‘no money’,” he said.
“That’s awful,” I replied.
“Atlanta women are tough,” he went on, leaning against the trunk of his car. He looked me over and grinned.
“No, I’m not tough,” I replied to his unspoken question. “Don’t let the jumpsuit fool you.”
He shook his head. “What in God’s name could a little thing like you have done to wind up in juvie?”
I tensed. His demeanor. The way he talked to me. Like he’d known me for years. And he used “little thing” like a term of endearment. I knew I wasn’t imagining it. He did.
I opened my mouth to reply then shuddered at the sound of my name.
“Cadence Miller!” Officer Clements yelled.
“Shit,” I whispered, and turned around.

Emma's thoughts: I was given an ARC of Mirage from Ashley Suzanne in return for an honest review so here goes:

First of all let me just say that I love the cover of this book ~ it is stunning :)

WOW - Upon starting this book Oh my it was sad, I actually shed a tear, it was so emotional, I’m not going to go into detail or post any spoilers as I really want you to read this book and get the full benefit of it plus I don’t like to put spoilers in my reviews.

And so onto the characters... Mira, Kylee, Danny and Skylar are all likeable and believable and I think that Kylee is a wicked BFF, who wouldn’t want a bestie like that and Skylar.... oh my he is smoking HOT as in sizzling ;)....Mira is so lovely and has to deal with so much sadness, you can feel her pain at her loss and Danny he’s such a gentleman and so lovely and I’m trying not to give anything away...argh!! Not easy when I so loved this book.

Mirage has everything you could wish for in a book: emotion, sadness, love, drama, bikers (who doesn’t love a biker) oh and some sizzling naughty scenes.

So all that's left for me to do is to say a big well done and Congrats to Ashley on an amazing debut novel..... I can’t wait for book 2....oh and look out for the ending, total shock but brilliant...so well written and thought out.... 5 well deserved hearts.

Beautiful Broken by Nazarea Andrews: She's been broken by her past. He's been breaking for as long as he can remember.
Together, they can make each other whole--or destroy each other.

When his best friend asks for something, Dane rarely says no. But babysitting a newly sober Scout Grimes for three weeks isn't exactly a normal request. And with their history, it's a recipe for disaster. Not to mention, she's drop dead gorgeous and he can't touch her.

There are few people Scout trusts as much as Dane Guillot. He's always been her safe place, where nothing can hurt her. He's also been the only man she's never let herself want--screwing up their friendship isn't worth one amazing night together.

Release Day Blitz: Two Roads

18071872

TITLE: Two Roads

AUTHOR: L.M. Augustine

GENRE: New Adult

SYNOPSIS:

The only person poetry-loving Cali Monroe hates more than herself is Logan Waters, the geeky kid who lives in the dorm building next to hers.

Ever since Cali's parents told her she would amount to nothing, she has felt entirely inadequate. Friendless and alone, she takes on the mean girl role in hopes it will make her feel better--and Logan serves as the perfect target. He infuriates her with his obnoxiously long lashes, his all too perfect dimpled smile, and his complete lack of personality outside of his intelligence. It doesn't hurt that he's part of the reason her brother is dead, either. So Cali hates him, and he returns the favor. Thus, their prank-filled, insult-driven rivalry is born, and torturing Logan quickly becomes the highlight of her life.

But when Cali's parents set them up on a blind date, she begins to realize Logan might not be as boring as she always thought. He shares her love of poetry, takes a sadistic pleasure in making fun of crepes, and he makes her blush when he calls her smile pretty.

And hey, maybe those long lashes of his aren't that obnoxious after all…

Two Roads is New Adult Romance about finding love, standing out, and learning to embrace who you are. It contains some language and mild sexual content.

Blog Tour & Review: Epiphany

Epiphany by Christina Jean Michaels: "I had my first psychic dream when I was nine. Psychic implied power, and powerful wasn't a word I'd use to describe myself. I couldn't foretell the future or conjure visions at will, but I couldn't think of a more fitting word to describe what I sometimes saw in my dreams."

For 23-year-old Mackenzie Hill, tossing her life down the garbage disposal is easy after a painful incident shatters her life. Her heart is bleeding, and moving to Watcher’s Point is a chance to start anew, only she isn’t prepared for the guy who walks out of her dreams and into the flesh. Literally . . . because she’s been dreaming about this sexy stranger for years.

Mackenzie is even less prepared to face the dark nature of her dreams. They've turned disturbingly gruesome, full of blood and murder, and when they begin to coincide with the media’s headlines, she and Aidan realize her visions might be the key to stopping a madman from killing again.

Only Aidan has painful secrets of his own, and perhaps the biggest danger of all is falling for him.

Approximately 87,000 words. New adult/romantic suspense stand-alone novel. ***Mature Content Warning*** 17+ for adult situations and language.

Emma's thoughts: I was given an ARC as part of the Epiphany blog tour.
Ok, let me start by saying that I’m gonna keep this review as spoiler free as I possibly can as personally I don’t like to put them in reviews and that is simply because you should read this book for yourself.

I have given this book 4 well deserved hearts and that's because Epiphany has a bit of everything in it: Murder, mystery, suspense, romance and so many twists that I was getting kinda dizzy but in a good way with a touch of paranormal to add to the mix. I really didn't have any clue as to who was committing the murders but at the same time I wasn't surprised who it was either, if that makes sense and this novel is very carefully written in as much as the way it was all interwoven with all the characters to get to the end and boy did the revelations keep coming.

The reason why this book was not quite 5 hearts for me was because I wasn't hooked and addicted to it, I could quite easily drop it and pick it back up again and I didn't have that feeling where I had to read it but never the less it was still a blooming good read and if your into a bit of murder, mystery and romance then this is the book for you :)

Release Event & Giveaway: Recklessly

Celebrating the release of Recklessly by A. J. Sand, the author is offering great prizes and an excerpt from the book!

Title: Recklessly
Author: A.J. Sand
Release date: August 28th, 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age Group: Mature New Adult/Adult

Wes Elliott just met his match…and she might actually burn his entire world down.

Surfing and sex. This is Wes Elliott's life. And it's just the way he likes it. `
After seeing his parents stay in a loveless marriage his entire life, and burying away a heartbreak from his past, he knows where romance is best left: crappy chick movies. He'd rather lust and eventually leave, and that's exactly what the plan was when he met Lana Langston.

Except…turns out she’s only in it for the thrills, too. She's always only in it for the thrills: life in the literal fast lane on her motorcycle, and the hot nights in forbidden places without the awkward talks in the mornings after. She's Wes Elliott in way tighter jeans.

So, this should be perfect, right?

But the more time Wes spends with her, the more he wants the nights to turn into mornings. And maybe even longer. Suddenly, it isn't so perfect for him anymore.

And the things he thought were buried are digging themselves up.

Now Wes is in a lot of trouble.

He’s falling in love with the one girl who might be a bigger risk than even a guy who gets barreled by the most dangerous waves in the world is willing to take on.
Can Wes and Lana figure out a way to make it work? Or is he headed for something far more reckless?

Due to the sexual content, language and violence, this work is not recommended for readers under 18.
