TRIPP (My Way Series #2)SYNOPSIS:
Lacey’s Story…
Covering up pain is easy. It’s keeping it tucked away that’s hard. I’ve always needed the cover of tattoos to hide the nasty past that leached its way into me, tainting me beneath my skin.
Not the shiny, trendy tats, but the ugly broken kind, meant to keep the world at bay. If they weren’t enough, then my piercings, foul mouth and crazy hair usually did the trick. Life had taught me to never follow the rules, because when you do, you get burned.
My life was perfectly imperfect until Tripp…
Our relationship is what most would describe as fuel meeting fire. We were both hell bent on burning each other to the ground. Tripp was sexy as hell, a charismatic beast, and soon became one of my best friends. We shared a love of ice cream and tattoos as we blazed our own path that could only lead to a beautiful train wreck.
The only question left is, will we set the countryside ablaze with our hot tempers and foul mouths? Or will we paint our own happy ending filled with all the gushy shit normal people crave?

Book Review: A Beautiful Wedding
A Beautiful Wedding (Beautiful #3) by Jamie McGuire: You know that Abby Abernathy unexpectedly became Mrs. Maddox. But what do you really know?
Why did Abby pop the question?
What secrets were shared before the ceremony?
Where did they spend their wedding night?
Who else knew about it . . . and didn’t tell?
Everything about Abby and Travis’s elopement was top-secret . . . until now. Fans of Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster will get all of their questions answered in this whirlwind tale of the wedding day (and night!)—and as with all good stories, this one will definitely have been worth the wait.
Whairigail's thoughts:
“If you're not with me, it's not where I want to be.”This book is the third in the Beautiful Disaster series.
Book 1:Beautiful Disaster
Book 2:Walking Disaster
I ABSOLUTELY ADORED Beautiful Disaster - Travis was my very first book boyfriend, my first book lover and my first book forever-man.
Walking Disaster - I was thrilled at the prospect of a second book but it was mostly just book 1, re-written and bored me.
Then I realised a novella was coming out and I was THRILLED because I thought it would be a new part to the story. Which, in a way, it was.
Firstly, and because this irritated me no end, was the cost. £3.99 for a novella was just something I could not justify. I buy aprox 30 books a month and will gladly pay £3.99 for a full length novel but I think the publishers truly screwed up on this. I only decided to read it as I found the paperback in Asda for £3.50 - CHEAPER THAN THE eBOOK!!
The book itself had some new material, all of which – to me – seemed pretty morose. I was expecting (and looking forward to) a happy account of Travis & Abby getting married but we didn’t get that.
As always, Jamie’s writing was stunning. Her writing flows, her characters are true and she can evoke emotions easily.
It was better than a 2.5* book, but not as good as a 3.5* book so I’ve decided on a 3* rating

Book Review: It Ain't Me, Babe
It Ain't Me, Babe by Tillie Cole: Sinning never felt so good...
A fortuitous encounter.
A meeting that should never have happened.
Many years ago, two children from completely different worlds forged a connection, a fateful connection, an unbreakable bond that would change their lives forever…
Salome knows only one way to live—under Prophet David’s rule. In the commune she calls home, Salome knows nothing of life beyond her strict faith, nor of life beyond the Fence—the fence that cages her, keeps her trapped in an endless cycle of misery. A life she believes she is destined to always lead, until a horrific event sets her free.
Fleeing the absolute safety of all she has ever known, Salome is thrust into the world outside, a frightening world full of uncertainty and sin; into the protective arms of a person she believed she would never see again.
River ‘Styx’ Nash knows one thing for certain in life—he was born and bred to wear a cut. Raised in a turbulent world of sex, Harleys, and drugs, Styx, unexpectedly has the heavy burden of the Hades Hangmen gavel thrust upon him, and all at the ripe old age of twenty-six—much to his rivals’ delight.
Haunted by a crushing speech impediment, Styx quickly learns to deal with his haters. Powerful fists, an iron jaw and the skillful use of his treasured German blade has earned him a fearsome reputation as a man not to be messed with in the shadowy world of outlaw MC’s. A reputation that successfully keeps most people far, far away.
Styx has one rule in life—never let anyone get too close. It’s a plan that he has stuck to for years, that is, until a young woman is found injured on his lot… a woman who looks uncannily familiar, a woman who clearly does not belong in his world, yet a woman he feels reluctant to let go…
Contemporary Romance/New Adult Novel.
TeriLyn's thoughts: **It Ain’t Me, Babe generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**
With It Ain’t Me, Babe Tillie Cole wrote a poignantly beautiful novel, rooted in salvation or better, finding salvation in the most unlikely places. Starting the book I had no expectations. The only thing I knew was being a fan of this author. Ms. Cole’s Sweet Series drew me to her writing and stories so I knew it was imperative I read her newest work. This book did not, in any capacity, disappoint. If you’re a fan of Rome and Molly you know the strength of this authors work. However, this is not Rome and Molly’s story or anything like it. It Ain’t Me, Babe grips you from the beginning but it’s a dark, gritty, twisty tale of love.
This story portrays the life of a woman whose soul, her very essence, was stolen from her only to be claimed by others who held great power (but not enough power) over her body and mind. It’s the story of a man with a beautifully tarnished soul who’s constricted in life by silent words but reigns as a fierce MC leader and protector. It Ain’t Me, Babe tells the story of two people who under the circumstances should have never found each other yet are fated together against the odds. The book moves you by being both devastatingly sad and joyfully happy. It’s evocative, telling, and revealing of the triumphs of human spirit.
Styx and Mae shine as the hero and heroine. The author not only made me fall in love with them but she made me BELIEVE in them too - in their love, in their enduring strength. Styx’s strength and endurance as a leader, as a man, admonishes that of his foes. Something in the beauty of Mae captivates him to the point of obsession for years and years. He knew instantly that she freed the beast inside him holding him hostage. Mae on the other hand is free of beasts inside. It’s the beasts on the outside she knows Styx can and will protect her from. Her strength goes beyond being admirable. It’s an intrinsic strength, a deep faith in oneself. I admire Mae; facing life head on, instead of cowering in fear. She’s a beautifully fierce woman.
In the interest of preserving this uniquely well-crafted plot I will not relay too much. The story flows seamlessly, captivating you with each scene. Greek mythology and religion woven into the story enhancing the depth of emotion allow the reader to engage in a completely different kind of reading experience. I found myself googling Hades and Persephone’s sordid story. The parallel Ms. Cole draws between the two relationships is brilliant. The secondary characters help build the romance and plot in this story. The friends and villains alike add magic to the plot. The shocks and twists leave you as breathless as the beauty of this grand love story.
It Ain’t Me, Babe sends a powerful message through the strength of its main characters, the fluidity of the writing and dual POV’s in which it’s told. The book makes you think, it engages you, encourages you to feel for the lifestyles portrayed whether good or bad. It questions the sanctity of one’s own beliefs. It Ain’t Me, Babe touches your heart and your mind staying rooted for days after finishing. If you hadn’t the pleasure of reading a story told by Ms. Cole, read this gritty captivating tale. If you have, let Ms. Cole once again guide you effortlessly with the beauty of her words and her passion for storytelling on this beautifully dark and twisted journey. Brilliantly done, Ms. Cole.

Review: Play
Play (Stage Dive #2) by Kylie Scott: Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller Lick.Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl. Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?
Rosie's thoughts: Wow! I didn't think this book could be as good as 'Lick', the first in the Stage Dive series, but dare I say that I think it is better! 'Play' picks up where 'Lick' left of, but focusing this time on the drummer of the band Malcolm (Mal). I had already begun to fall in love with Mal in the first book because of his support to his buddy, guitarist David.
Mal met Anne at a party and asked her to become his pretend girlfriend. She agreed and the next thing she knew Mal had moved himself into her apartment along with some new furniture. It didn't take long for both of them to fall in love with each other, without telling each other. Mal's parents arrived and quickly we realize that something isn't quite as it should be.
Without giving too much away Anne supports Mal through some difficult times. Anne has had a difficult childhood but this has made her a strong and independent character. The kind of girl we can empathise with. Through the twists and turns of their relationship including a breakup, some hot sex, fights and a cute puppy called Killer Mal and Anne admit their love for each other.
This book develops the relationships between all the members of the band, Stage Dive and excited me as to what happens next with them.
I am loving the writing style of Kylie Scott she manages to draw me in quickly to the story and fall in love with the characters.
I look forward to reading more of her work.

“I love it when you’re jealous.”
I playfully smack his chest. “I am not jealous.”
He laughs. “Yes you are.” He kisses my forehead and I there is that shiver of goosebumps that fly across my skin and that is something I know I never want to get used to when it comes to him. “Cami, every single minute of the future I see is filled with images of you and me, and maybe even little ones running around. I’d propose to you right now if I knew you’d say yes, but I am also enjoying us just the way we are. We start talking about marriage and then other things factor in.”
I pull my hand up to rest on his chest and I place my chin on top. “Other things like what?”
He takes a deep breath. “Things like you starting your career at Bold, me getting my post Love Is Burning career moving forward. Hell Cams, I don’t even have a place to live. When I’m not with you, I’m in hotels. I feel so unstable and I’ve felt that way for a long time. When I’m with you, I’m finally starting to feel some sense of normalcy and stability, but I not quite there yet.” He pauses momentarily. “Sure I have loads of money because I don’t spend it.”
I can’t help the chuckle that escapes my lips. “Don’t spend it? My ass, do you not remember your Tarah bill?”
He laughs a little at that. “Oh I remember it, it’s hard to forget over two-hundred thousand dollars.”
“I told you that I’d pay for half of that.”
“Shh, we’re done talking about that. I told you no before, and I am saying it again. No.” I roll my eyes at him and he smirks at me. “Seriously, though, my career could be over tomorrow, I could get cut from Catalyst or whatever the hell the next one in New York is, the minute they find someone better, or decide to give up. I could not find another script I like, then I end up settling just so I can do movies. Cams, my career is a nightmare and there are no guarantees.”
“There was one point you were ready to give it all up.”
He adjusts himself underneath of me and puts his head back into the pillow. “I’m still not sure that might not happen.”
“Is that what you want?”
He sighs. “I don’t know. It’s not as fun as it was before.”
“That’s my fault.”
His head comes off of his pillow and he looks at me. “Explain please?”
“Well look at the last six weeks. Things were great, you go to L.A., then you come home to find me in the mess I was in, then we come to Montana, and I’ve been miserable and a bitch. Look at everything around you Tristan, don’t you think that factors into why you’re not enjoying yourself.” As soon as the words leave my lips, I’m not sure that’s really how I wanted to say that, but I do my best to brace myself for whatever he has to say back.
“These last six weeks have down right sucked. I won’t lie Cami. I was so afraid to leave you, scared shitless about what I was going to come home too. I thought maybe if we got away and came up here, out of your condo, that things would be better, but they only got worse because he’s thirty minutes away and after today, I don’t know what to expect from you anymore, and it scares me.”
2 -
Cami is standing in the bathroom, at the mirror, she’s just finished with her hair, which of course looks beautiful, pulled over one shoulder and held back by a flower, similar to the one she wore in Tarah for one of our dates. Her beauty is something I can’t get over. It doesn’t matter if she has raccoon eyes, or if she is wearing no make-up at all, which doesn’t happen often. But tonight, I am more interested in the fact that all she has on right now is a black lace bra, matching panties, and lace top thigh-highs that are being held up by a matching garter belt.
Her panties leave very little to the imagination and I can’t help but stare hard at this beautiful girl. I sneak up behind her and wrap my arms around her waist, my hands gliding along her stomach and she melts into me.
“Hey beautiful.” I whisper in her exposed ear.
“Hey beautiful yourself.” She smiles at me in the mirror and our eyes meet. I love our little greeting ritual and it never seizes to warm my heart.
My hands continue to roam along her body, starting down at her thighs where her thigh-highs stop. Her skin is so soft and I can’t resist touching it.
“Behave yourself.”
I snort a laugh. “Never.” And I kiss her on her neck, just below her ear, the spot that always turns her to putty in my hands.
“We have twenty minutes before we have to get out of here.”
“I can be quick.” I blurt out, my erection straining against my jeans.
“Not that quick.” She says and she turns to kiss me. But it is soft and quick. She knows better than to work me up, but sometimes I wonder if it works her up just as much. I can’t seem to stop my hand from roaming between her legs.
“See you’re already hot and wet for me.”
“I’m always hot and wet for you, but we don’t have time.” She kisses my cheek. “Now go, before we will be really late and I don’t want the nasty look from Beau, because she will know exactly why we’re late.”
I huff. “Fine, but you owe me.”
She turns so quick in my arms that it hardly registers until we are face to face. “Behave yourself and I will more than make it worth your while.” She promises and kisses me, then playfully pushes me away.
I like her promises of making it worth my while, it usually means that she will do something extra special for me when we get home, so I back away and let her finish getting ready. I head down to the kitchen and pour us both a small glass of chiraz and wait, impatiently for her to join me. I haven’t seen what else she plans on wearing tonight and I don’t really care. I am already starting to feel the ache in my balls and it is going to be a long, horny night.

SynopsisEasy going soldier Kale Montgomery, a self-proclaimed ladies man, has no plans of settling down, especially not with his best friend- the sexy, sassy schoolteacher Lucy Dawson. Their relationship, though unconventional, is mutually beneficial, and they wouldn't have it any other way. Friends with benefits? Casual lovers? Whatever you want to call it, they’re having fun, in and out of bed, and to them, that’s all that matters. At least that’s what they think, but how long can you spend in someone's bed before you find they're also infiltrating your heart?
As their casual fling with no strings attached progresses, it's not long before they realize they're both in way over their heads. One fateful night changes their lives forever in ways they could never have imagined, giving them the push to finally admit that maybe, just maybe they want more than they’ve let on. Their mutual attraction rapidly intensifies as it shifts from burning lust to unrelenting want, need, and possibly even love. Suddenly the idea of settling down doesn't seem so bad. In fact, it sounds pretty damn perfect.
Just when things seem to be falling into place, past pain and renewed insecurities rise to the surface and threaten to smother the flames of their passionate relationship, reminding them both why they’ve always kept the idea of love at arm's length. Will Kale and Lucy realize that what they've been waiting for is each other, or will the blazing whirlwind of their feelings burn out too quickly, causing it to all go up in smoke?
ExcerptShe looks me over, and I love the fact that she’s checking me out. I don’t know why I’m so drawn to her, but I am, and I want to get to know her better, at least where the bedroom’s concerned. Eventually, she extends her hand, and I give a firm handshake, the kind she wanted when we first met. “Please, Kale, call me Lucy.”
Shaking her hand, I say it out loud. “Lucy. I like it.”
“That’s fortunate since I’m stuck with it. Okay, Montgomery. As much as I love flirting with a hot ass soldier in the parking lot of an elementary school, I’ve got to get going. Maybe I’ll see you around?”
She starts to walk away, but I grab her hand, reeling her back in. I’m not ready for her to go, yet I don’t want to seem like some crazy stalker guy.
“Can I see you again? You know, outside of an elementary school?” I ask, my eyes bearing down into hers, begging for her to say yes.
She hesitates, and I’m afraid she’s about to say no when she finally responds. “I don’t date. I’m not looking for anything serious, so if that’s what you’re looking for, I’m the wrong girl.”
My cock practically sings at her words. A no strings attached relationship with a hot teacher right before I deploy? I couldn’t have asked for better luck.
“I don’t do relationships, either, Lucy. I just want to get to know you and to have some fun. No feelings, no strings, no nothing,” I tell her, and watch as a look of relief washes over her.
She starts digging in her purse and I watch as she scribbles something on a piece of paper before hanging it to me. “Number’s right there. Call me when you’re feeling adventurous,” she says. Before I can say anything, she spins around and swiftly walks away, leaving me to wonder just how adventurous she can be.

***
To a restless dreamer like Vera Miles, it sounded like the experience of a lifetime. Instead of spending her summer interning for her astronomy major, she would fly to Spain where she’d spend a few weeks teaching conversational English to businessmen and women, all while enjoying free room and board at an isolated resort. But while Vera expected to get a tan, meet new people and stuff herself with wine and paella, she never expected to fall in love.
Mateo Casalles is unlike anyone Vera has ever known, let alone anyone she’s usually attracted to. While Vera is a pierced and tatted free spirit with a love for music and freedom, Mateo is a successful businessman from Madrid, all sharp suits and cocky Latino charm. Yet, as the weeks go on, the two grow increasingly close and their relationship changes from purely platonic to something…more.
Something that makes Vera feel alive for the first time.
Something that can never, ever be.

ExcerptClaudia shrugged and pulled down at her yellow tee. “Not my problem. Eduardo is nice but Ricardo is really nice.”
“How did it happen?” I asked, kinda wanting the sordid details.
She was coy. “The way it usually happens.”
“Did you make the first move?”
Another shrug. “Why not?”
I swear, a shrug and a “why not?” were the Spaniards’ go-to answer for everything.
“Well, then I guess it seems safe—and a little boring now—to tell you that I have a crush on someone.”
Her brows quirked up. “Other than Mateo?”
“What?”
“You are sleeping with Mateo, no?”
“WHAT?!”
“No?”
“No!” I exclaimed, appalled. “Why does everyone keep thinking that?”
“Because you are always together,” she said simply. She took a sip of wine. “The attraction is very obvious. So, I figured you must be sleeping together.”
“He’s married!”
“Yes, but you are not.”
I shook my head adamantly. “It’s wrong. I don’t want to be the other woman. I’ve seen my dad go for the other woman, and I can’t put Mateo’s daughter through that,” I said. “Or his wife,” I quickly added.
“That doesn’t mean that you can’t have feelings for anyone else.”
“Yes, it does mean that.”
“Maybe you are meant to be together.”
“We’re not! There isn’t even a together. We’re just friends. I haven’t done anything about it, and so far my feelings are totally one-sided.”
Claudia got up off the couch and brought a pack of cigarettes out of her front jean pocket. “If you think it is on the one side, you have not seen the way he looks at you.”
She walked over to her small patio table and pulled out a chair. I got up and stormed after her, my nerves dancing excitedly.
“What do you mean, the way he looks at me?” I asked, lowering my voice in case there were people around listening. I felt like bouncing off the walls.
She slid the ashtray toward her as I sat down. “You do not see it. But I do. I think everyone does. He looks at you like…like you’re his favorite food.”
“Favorite food?”
She lit her cigarette. “Yes. You’re like his favorite food in the whole world. He wants to have you, eat you, devour you. He thinks about you all the time, craves you. But he cannot have you for one reason or another. Perhaps you upset his stomach. Maybe he is on a diet, yes? All he wants is a taste, but he cannot even have that. That is how he looks at you.”
I sat there, stunned, as some of her smoke blew in my face. That’s how Mateo looked at me? Like he wanted to eat me? I was pretty sure that’s how I looked at him. Just last night I was contemplating nibbling on his earlobes.
“And yes,” she said, leaning closer to me, a small smile on her lips, “that is also how you look at him.” Great, a mind reader. “But you are more subtle about it. You try not to let everyone know. But, we know.”
“There is nothing to know,” I reminded her, poking the table with my finger for emphasis. “We are not sleeping together. He is married. I have a crush. That is it. The end of the story.”
“A crush?” she questioned. “Vera, I think you’re in love with him.”
No f*cking way. Not love. That did not happen with me, not ever and not now.
“You can’t fall in love in a week,” I told her heatedly.
“You can fall in love in a second,” she said with a snap of her fingers. “The heart has no regard for time.”
With that sobering thought, Claudia told me about her ex-boyfriend and how they fell in love at first sight then took the conversation back to Ricardo and their exploits. I envied her so badly right then and there. She could fawn over Ricardo, kiss him, f*ck him, and no one would ever bat an eye. It was okay for them to be together. It wasn’t forbidden.
I gulped the rest of the wine and left her apartment, heading back to reception to meet Cristina for my next one-on-one, my mind and heart and hormones all over the place. Lo and behold, Mateo was walking up the path toward me.
He was on the phone, smiling.
His shirt was off and slung over his shoulder, exposing his bare chest, abs, and arms.
Holy f*ck.
For a moment, I was sure that time had stopped. Or maybe ever single nerve, cell, vein, bone, muscle in my body just slowed as I took him all in.
From his thick-veined forearms to his sculpted shoulders and broad chest peppered with neatly-trimmed chest hair, to his six-pack abs, he had, by far, the best body I’d ever seen on a man. He kept himself in fine-ass shape, looking more like a young athlete than anything else. He and David Beckham had more in common than I thought, although David’s skin tone wasn’t as mesmerizing. Mateo’s color was amazing, just beautiful, this dark, golden bronze that covered him everywhere. I wanted so badly to just touch him, to lick the sheen of sweat off his skin. I bet he tasted like victory.
And to think this was the man that Claudia said wanted to taste me.
I really, really wanted to believe her.
Meanwhile, I was just standing there like I was melting into a puddle of myself. I clamped my mouth shut as he walked past and I heard him say into the phone, “No, mi tesorito, it was easy, I didn’t injure myself.” He was beaming, talking about the game, to his wife. To his tesorito. And he called their relationship complicated? This was complicated.
He winked at me in acknowledgement, his smile becoming broader. I tried to smile back but it wouldn’t come. I just stared at him, feeling stupid, foolish, and strangely rejected. In a perfect world I may have been his favorite food, but it still wasn’t what he got served every day. I turned around and walked down the hill, my heart feeling like a pincushion.
“Vera!” I heard him call out from behind. I stopped and nervously glanced over my shoulder. He was holding the phone’s receiver to his chest, grinning at me. “I need to ask you your question.”
“What?” I asked, hoping it was quick.
“Who is your favorite Spaniard here?”
Seriously?
And yet I couldn’t lie to him.
“You,” I said, more to myself than to him. Then I turned around and walked away as quickly as I could.
