AIRPLANE SONATA tonight a man described a snuff film he saw online: “a couple Mexicans got killed with a chainsaw for a minute they were pleading and I thought the link would be less brutal …
i haven’t been on the internet for the last week due to moving into a new house. actually, it’s an old house, but it’s where i’ve been.
i’m at a starbucks using the free internet and i’m sitting near some possibly homeless crustpunks who keep asking to see people’s ankh tattoos.
anyway, i had a poem go up in the april edition of the bohemyth 4 days ago, which was a nice surprise.
i wrote the poem on an airplane last year in a tiny pocketbook and i forget where the flight was specifically to or from.
but then again i don’t care about places anymore because every place is the same.
simultaneously, the wind outside this starbucks and the position i’m sitting in are making me feel like i’m sitting on a diving board.

Daniel Bailey’s Gather Me
Mark Baumer wrote the first review of Gather Me. it is funny and strange and insightful. to be honest i forgot that i was white male, let alone a person, until i read this review. here is an excerpt that i liked from the review:
It really is about time that we had a poet like Bailey make his poems climb upon a large hill and say, “If poetry is still holding on to anger, resentment, or condemnation, it is clearly holding on to a distant past when it had not quite learned how to be a poem. This may give the poem a comforting sense of identity and solidarity with other poems, but it is keeping it in bondage to the past and blocks full access to its essence and true power. If poems exclude themselves from non-poems then this fosters a sense of separation and therefore is distant from its true nature.”
also, check out Mark Baumer’s project where he is rewriting/drawing jonathan franzen’s freedom a page at a time at the link connected to his name up above. it is one of my favorite things anyone has done in a long while.
thank you, mark.

Stephanie Dowda’s show “TOPOPHILIA" is opening at...

Stephanie Dowda’s show “TOPOPHILIA" is opening at Get This! Gallery tonight in Atlanta. Stephanie is one half of a very awesome power couple and one whole of a very good person who I am happy to have met since moving to Georgia. Check out her work, and if you are in town you should come see it in person. Gallery openings are great. There are very good looking people there and everyone is dressed well and there’s nice stuff to look at and you generally get free wine.
