I was holding off making this list so I could read a few more titles released this year, but they didn’t arrive before I left TX, though I’m sure they would be on this list too (e.g. Gather Me by Daniel Bailey).

10/31/13—Release party for Nicole Steinberg’s Getting Lucky in Denton, TX. This reading was great because of Nicole and Erin. Also, we were all in costume, duh.
*Obviously, I think Nicole Steinberg’s Getting Lucky is great, but as publisher of the book, I felt funny about adding it. But I do love the book. A lot.
In all honesty every year end list should include a disclaimer about gather me and how said list has been published prematurely because of gather me not arriving yet or late-year releases or something along those lines because gather me will make you all feel like you just bleached your dad.

I’d intended for the post below to be the final one here, but then this just happened at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service—not exactly a funeral, to be fair, but I’ll just go ahead and take credit for the whole thing. Thank you, world, and good night!
