Nice and solid

There's something about hardback books...

I love the solidity of them, that they'll stay on your bookshelf forever and stand the test of time.

My Harlequin Romance novels always arrive in hardbacks first and I love them.

So if you're a fan of hardback, here's your chance to grab some!

This month sees my Harlequin Presents THE BOSS'S BEDROOM AGENDA released in hardback (with TWO WEEKS IN THE MAGNATE'S BED out next month.)

(Quick announcement! If you're in Sydney and love a booksigning, NYT...

Hot trend

All you writers out there know not to jump on a trend bandwagon, right?
Because by the time you write the book, trends change.
And if you try to 'force' your voice to fit a trend, it may not fit.

That said, I just read an interesting article via RWA this morning.

Want to know the next hot trend?

Angels.

Not the nice kind either, but dark angels in all guises.
Sounds intriguing, huh? There's something alluring about a pristine angel fallen by the wayside...

Have you read any angel fiction?

A fab review to start the New Year

On the heels of my Romantic Times Top Pick for MARRIAGE: FOR BUSINESS OR PLEASURE? comes another lovely review, this time from Susan Barton (a first time reviewer for my books) at ROMANCE READER AT HEART.

Marsh is a master at expressing emotions...

Marsh beautifully decorates her idyllic beach resort setting with fantasy rooms in Nick's hotel...

The brutal realities of Brit's emotional and physical abuse by her father are offset by the tender re-awakening of love and desire between Nick and...

New Years Eve on rewind

I bet most of you had an exciting New Year's Eve.

Parties, champagne, people watching...me? I played nurse.

My hubby got carted off to hospital in an ambulance at 4am! That was the start of my NYE and it didn't get better, what with several hospital trips to and fro, playing nurse at home and no sleep.

Thankfully, his heart is okay. He has some bizarre bug he's still battling.

Looking on the bright side, things could've been a lot worse. But I'm hoping to put the health dramas of 2009 behind ...

Resolutions

I'm not one to make New Year resolutions.

Usually, I'm so exhausted by the end of another hectic year, I tend to loll around on NYE, drinking champagne, grateful for my blessings.

What about you?
Do you make resolutions?
Care to share any for 2010?

Age old tale

I now understand the hype behind Twilight.

I've read the book, watched the movie, and enjoyed both a lot more than I expected to.

I'd heard so many reviews, most of them not good, that I suppose I'd lowered my expectations so was pleasantly surprised.

For me, it's not about the writing.
Not about the plot.
Not about the paranormal stuff that I don't usually read.

The catch for me is the age old love story between star-crossed lovers.

Whatever happens in the plot, I want to keep reading to follow th...

Great recommendation!

A few weeks ago, I asked for good movie recommendations while I kick back a little over the Christmas period.

THE PROPOSAL was recommended by several people here so I grabbed a stack of DVDs from the video store last night and watched it.

Loved it! Made all the more special by the plot centering around the publishing world. And the zippy one liners between Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds were fabulous.

Tonight, it's onto Twilight (after just finishing the book.) Shall leave that for another ...

Merry Christmas to all my friends

(I'm sure George passes on his best to all you guys out there too!)

My sentiments are the same as George.
Wishing you all a merry Christmas and happy holidays.
May Santa fill your stockings with loads of fabulous books!

As I blog for 313 days of the year, I'll probably take a week off.
That said, I love interacting with all of you, I'll be home, so I can't see myself staying away from here too long!

Ho, ho, ho!!!

Romantic Times Top Pick!

I've received a lovely early Christmas present!

My current release in the UK, MARRIAGE: FOR BUSINESS OR PLEASURE? , out in the States in Feb, has received 4 and a half stars and Top Pick from Romantic Times!

Here's what they had to say:
It's been 10 years since Brittany Lloyd left New Zealand after bad boy Nick Mancini refused to go with her. Now she's on the cusp of a major career breakthrough but needs his help. She's in for a surprise -- he's now the multimillionaire owner of an...
