Moon Craving

Several years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Lucy Monroe when she attended a RWAus conference in Melbourne. We had many laughs over dinner and I was amazed at her productivity.

Here's a bit about her upcoming release:
Moon CravingFeb 2010 - Berkley Sensation
ISBN-13: 978-0425233047
Children of the Moon Book 2
If it were up to him, Talorc—laird of the Sinclair clan and leader of his werewolf pack— would never marry. But when the king orders that Talorc wed an Englishwoman, the lone wolf is...

Weekend rituals

I run around all week and work like a trojan, so I love my weekends. Yes, I still write most weekends, especially with non stop deadlines, but I always, always take time out. My weekend ritual involves brunch on Sunday, either at my favourite cafe or trying a new one, spending all day doing family stuff with the kids, and curling up on a Sunday night with a book and reading for at least an hour or two. Absolutely adore the weekends! So what's your weekend ritual?

Call me

I have succumbed to peer pressure.

Am the proud owner of an iPhone.

All looks very glam and fabulous...now if only I could get the thing to work properly...

See my stagnant word count? Blame this!
Trying to figure out all the ins and outs is a real time suck.

No prizes for guessing what I'll be doing over the weekend...making up lost word count!

eHarlequin bestseller

Woo-hoo!

MARRIAGE: FOR BUSINESS OR PLEASURE? hit the Top 10 Bestseller list on eharlequin yesterday.

Nice :)

In other snippets, here's an interview I did recently, some answers appearing on 9MSN.Money today. "Love is in the Air: Can you make money as a romance novelist?"

(Note: I do not write 8 books a year across 3 Harlequin series. Not sure where that came from...)

THE WRITE WHISPER: Dream journal

In my last WRITE WHISPER post, I discussed the hypnologic state, and how I solve plot problems/have inspiration during this time. So as a follow on, let's discuss dream journals. Personally, I've never had a dream which has resulted in a book, though I've heard some authors have. For me, it's that pre-dream state which is a cauldron of bubbling ideas. Our subconcious never sleeps so why not tap into it? The art of keeping a dream journal is simple. Keep a notebook and pen by the bed. The...

Sailboard romance

TWO WEEKS IN THE MAGNATE'S BED is out in Germany today!

I love the cover! And I'm assuming I don't need a translator to figure out it says 'Love on Board'?
(Quick plug for my Mod Heat buddy Natalie Anderson, who's giving away books at her blog !)

The big chill

This is what I'm doing today.

Thinking ice. Lots of freezing cold ice.

Anything to stay cool in the 41 degree celcius temperatures we're expecting.

It has been a super hot 3 days so far, which means lots of lovely swims with the kids, but 41? Seriously, the only thing to do is hibernate.

Ice also nicely represents another situation I find myself in.
Are you ever left wondering why people do the things they do? What motivates them? I guess as writers we do this with our characters but I'm at a ...

Four eyes

Yesterday (between working like a maniac to complete tweaks on the mainstream novel and finally finishing around midnight) I took kidlet to get glasses.

He's been screened for years, since toddler and a few months ago his eyes took a turn for the worse. He has what I have so to not fall behind at school, glasses recommended and after picking up a few signs, off we went.

I've been gearing him up for it, and all I hear is 'kids will laugh at me.'
His best friend wears glasses, which helps, but as...

Spinning plates

This is me at the moment.
Seriously.

I have a Modern Heat due Feb (which I thankfully started last night and made good progress.)

I have a partial and proposal I wrote last week which my agent loves (yay!) so further stuff happening there.

I have a mainstream novel which needs a tweak done ASAP. Like now. For my agent.

So all the plates are in motion, spinning...spinning...let's just hope I can keep them all properly balanced!
