First memory of writing
I have always made up stories. I have an overactive brain. I love to daydream always have. I have to think when I started really writing I started writing Newsie FanFiction with my best friend Jamie. LOL. Newsies is a musical based on the New York City newsboy strike of 1899. When young newspaper sellers are exploited beyond reason by their bosses they set out to enact change and are met by the ruthlessness of big business. This Disney movie featured one known star Christian Bale as one Jack Kelley. He sang and danced with a group of other young men.
So Tell me for those writers out there what is your first memory of writing?

Summer Movies
I am not a fan of Summer. Me and the sun do not get along, Usually after 15 minutes in the sun I tend to turn red, to redder to lobster red. I do love that more fruits are available, and growing fresh veggies in the garden. Warm nights of writing outside is the best. But my favorite thing about summer are the summer blockbusters!
My Top Six Summer Movies:
Iron Man 3Star Trek 2Man of SteelPercy Jackson 2Despicable Me 2This is the EndThere are a tons of others but these are the ones I can't wait to see. What are some of the movies you really want to see this Summer?

Sunday Snippet! Playing with Magic book 2 in the Element Trilogy.
“My, My.” Moorgun said walking around Peardon after walked in dropping the man on the floor. She took in his short black hair and his hazel eyes, he was shorter than most of the others. He might do. She licked her lips, and ran her liver spotted left hand over his shoulder. He is fit enough. He will do tonight, but first. “Who sent you, my little lamb?” her voice came out as seductive as she could make it.
He crossed his arms in front of him, and made no motion to talk. Bryce stood behind him like a silent sentinel making sure the man didn’t hurt his Lady. “Let me, mistress,” Bryce said pulling out a silver double bladed knife so quick that even Moorgun didn’t see. The hilt she knew was of bone, because she had given it to him as a gift.
“You will speak when Lady asks.” He held the blade firm and tight against the traitor’s neck. He could feel as it sliced into the thin layer of Peardon’s neck, but he had to hold himself back. The bloodlust called and he wanted to finish the job and just slit the man’s throat. If Peardon struggled it would happen anyway.
“I have nothing to say to you bitch!” he finally shouted already knowing his life was about to end.
She stepped back. “Did you hear what he called me?” she said raising her voice. Bryce put more pressure on the blade. Blood flowed from the wound.
“No. I need him. He must talk,” Moorgun said.
Neva came in carrying another wooden box of herbs. What a good tasty girl. It’s such a pity I might have to kill her, Moorgun thought.
“Can I do it my mistress?” Bryce asked.

Saturday Review!

This one had me not want to sleep or go to work. I am trying to add the next book into my must read soon pile. Percy meets the Romans and we learn what happened to him after he disappeared. Annabeth, Jason and the rest are on their way, but Percy and two new friends with dark secrets are off to a land not touched by the Gods on a quest that means life or death for everyone.
Next week's review will be:

VEGAN ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE:
In the post-apocalypse worlderness, zombies rule the earth. They're allergic to meat, and brains literally make them explode.
Zombies now eat blood potatoes, parasitic tubers grown in the flesh of humancows corralled in maximum security farms.
The necros, barbaric human nomads travelling the worlderness in floating villages, worship the zombies. The necros both eat the zombies, and wear clothes made from them; they live in houses built of bricks of undead flesh. They also keep zombies as sex slaves.
Two fugitives meet in the ancient ruins of Texas. The first is Soil 15-f, a womancow who's escaped her farm a week before she's due to be killed and her blood potato crop harvested. The second fugitive is Able Kane, former head necros food technician, now sentenced to death for heresy.
But Soil is no ordinary humancow. Unknown to herself, she's the vegan zombie agricultural revolution, and the zombies desperately want her back.
And the necros equally desperately want Able Kane dead. He's fled with a forbidden discovery which will reshape the world for the worse if used. And Able is just hardheaded/misguided enough to use it.
With android zombinators and the head necros assassin (Able's ex-girlfriend Morphia) after them, Soil and Able Kane have no choice but to climb the lemon tree to Haeven, residence of the zombie god Necro.
And by anyone's reckoning, Soil and Able Kane are the two people in the worlderness who should never have been let into Haeven.

Guest Post!! Kharisma Rhayne talks about celebrity crushes with pictures! :)
Thanks so much to Ellie for allowing me to stop by and wreak a little havoc in her domain. After all, there’s absolutely no way to tell what will come out of my mouth.
So, I was on Facebook working out a monthly guest post for a blog I appear on. As I commented on my progress, Ellie offered me space here, as a guest. Now, we all know that I used to guest blog a lot. (Ok, well, maybe we don’t all know…but I used to blog everywhere.) Needless to say, it tends to run you out of topics in a hurry. ☺
Ellie listed a long list of this or that and also a few random questions. One really kind of struck me as fun. Perhaps somewhat embarrassing, but fun.
Today, I’m going to talk celebrity crushes.
You’ve been warned.
You may learn more about me than you want.
Again, you have been warned.
Let’s go back in time a bit. My first celebrity crush ever was when I was into fake wrestling. It was even still WWF at the time (they got sued and changed to WWE). Shawn Michaels. Long blond hair, confident (ok…arrogant). Then, he posed for Playgirl. (Come on. Someone has to remember this.) I’ve never purchased a magazine like that…but I made an exception the month he was in it. (For the record, I’ve never bought another either.) Imagine how ripped off I felt when….yes he was naked…but that damn WWF (again they weren’t WWE yet) title belt was covering the fun stuff. Talk about disappointment. Let’s not even mention how embarrassed I was to go into the adult section of the store to purchase the Playgirl…then having to go to the counter and allow the male employee to ring it up for me. (Yes, times have changed. Today I wouldn’t bat an eye over purchasing it. It just shows how much we change over time and maturity.)
[image error] Then it kind of progressed. How about Batista (again WWE)? OMG—those muscles, those abs….that ass. *drools* -- To this day he’s still sort of drool worthy (even though he is older than my typical maximum age limit). He even gets props for going to something real (MMA…one match to date, and he won). Now, to my knowledge, he’s never done anything fun like Playgirl, but he does have his shirt off a lot….and even looks awesome in jeans and a T-shirt (have I mentioned how well that man fills out a pair of jeans?). [image error] Oh and of course, on and off in there was, of course…Triple H and his amount of name/character changes. Muscles…abs, biceps…hell, he also had a great ass. I loved the arrogance and just asshole-it is he seemed to do so well. (Have I mentioned that I love my guys overly confident? Arrogance can be a real turn on…for me anyway.)
Moving on again and to more current standings…tastes change, of course. We get older…see things differently I suppose. Generally, I love heavily muscled guys that are at least 6’3” and over 230 pounds (yes, I used to have some real strict [image error] qualification rules).
So, there’s Corey Taylor. You know, lead singer from Slipknot and Stone Sour…has also done a song with Apocolypta? OMG…I’d be content if he just sang to me. And how awesome does he look in some of those later Stone Sour videos and the I’m not Jesus video? And, just randomly – have I mentioned how absolutely hot neck tattoos are?
[image error] [image error] I also, as those who follow me on Facebook likely already know, love Native American men. So, I discovered David Midthunder. His wife is one very lucky woman. (Go ahead, Google his images, you know you want to.) Let’s not count out Rick Mora (who will be at Unlimited Lit-Con in September 2014). And there are others, but I’ll stop there.
[image error] Since many of us are authors and readers…let’s not forget Sam Bond (who has graced a number of my covers). Not only does he look great, but he’s a really nice guy too. Muscled and blond – perfect.
[image error] One of my most recent obsessions, errrr….celebrity crushes….is Dustin Clare – Gannicus on Spartacus (who came to a not so great end recently). He’s likely one of the shortest guys I’ve ever thought was hot (lol). However, the second I saw him in the prequel (short second season) of Spartacus (while Andy was struggling and hoping to get well)…I instantly had a list of things to do with the large swords. ;) Blindfolds… *slaps hand over mouth* I say, how about a nicely packaged “Gannicus” under my Christmas tree this year? Santa—really, I’ve been a very, very bad girl and will gladly teach him all my tricks. So, who’s your celebrity crush and why?

Guest Blog! Author Toy Davis has a story for us!
Price of a Smile
Angela sat on her boulder as she stared into the river. This was her place. One day she would be in that water, but for now her place was on this boulder where the white rapids could keep her calm.
Leslie, the girl from over the hill, sat down beside her. “What are you doing?” she asked as she hugged her knees.
“Watching the water.”
“Why?”
“Because it is my job.”
Her lips tightly pinched together. She didn’t understand. “Why is it your job?”
Angela let out a heavy sigh as she eyed a dragonfly that hovered over the water. “Because it just is.”
Everyday Leslie came to this boulder and asked her numerous questions, and everyday Angela provided her with the same answers. It was very tiresome.
“Do you want to play?” She perked up. Leslie loved to play. “I will let you ride my bike.” She had a pink and white bike.
“I do not want to ride your bike.” Angela had never ridden a bike, and had no desire to. She had a job to maintain the balance and that was exactly what she was going to do.
“You never want to ride my bike,” she grumbled as she looked away. Disappointment dimmed her good humor. She laid her cheek on her arm. “Why do you never smile Angela?”
The question startled her because she wasn’t expecting it. Out of the corner of her gold eyes she looked at the young girl. Though these two appeared to be the same age, Angela was actually hundreds of years Leslie’s senior. “When I smile, it is different from when you smile,” she tried to explain.
Intrigued, the girl lifted her head. “Do your lips not curl up?”
“Of course they do.”
“Do you not feel joy when you smile?”
“Yes,” she rolled her eyes. “I feel joy.” There was an edge to her tone now.
“Then how do we smile different from one another?”
It was such an innocent question. How could Angela explain it? How could she admit what she was to a mere child?
“Oh look, a kittie,” she exclaimed when a gray feline hopped out of a bush. Its paws were white. It was a short hair cat. The topic was forgotten as she bounced off the bounced off the boulder to pet it.
The cat froze as it watched her approach it. Would he let her pet it, Angela wondered. It did. It stood still as it allowed Leslie to stoke his fur.
“Come; pet it,” she called to Angela. “Its fur is very soft.”
“I am sure it is,” she mumbled, not moving from her spot.
The child’s joy and excitement reminded Angela of times long past. A time when she was still innocent. A time when she was allowed to smile. It was before she knew of responsibilities and destiny. It was a time she missed. Sadness filled her and kept her calm. Sadness was her anchor; its what maintained the much-needed balance.
“Come on,” she beckoned to her. “Come play with me. I want to see you smile.”
“I cannot.” She looked away. “I must not.”
“You’re no fun,” Leslie pouted. The cat sensed her disappointment and decided to play some more.
The two chased each other. Leslie’s laughter reminded Angela of what she missed. She turned back to watch the two. Leslie laughed again as the cat jumped out at her. The innocence of them playing was so pure it tugged on Angela’s heartstrings.
Joy started to sing within her as a faint smile curved her lips, and crinkled her eyes.
Leslie stopped playing. She looked at her friend in awe; an unnatural glow seemed to come from Angela.
“You’re beautiful,” she whispered.
Gray storm clouds gathered in the sky as the wind brutally picked up. The cat ran for cover as he sensed what was coming. Leslie looked up. A double rainbow appeared in the sky, as if the Gods were frowning on her. “Uh oh, it looks like rain.”
The child’s native remark filled Angela with amusement. It had been decades since she allowed herself to feel this way.
“I should go home.”
Angela laughed as she rose to her feet. The wind whipped her hair around as the rain begun to pour. “You should run home child, run!” She raised her arms as she swayed side to side. She allowed her chaos of feelings to roll out of her. Excitement filled her as the elements raged around her. The river swelled as the fresh water overflowed its banks.
Frightened Leslie hopped on her bike to race home. She had to warn her parents of what was happening.
Angela laughed as she spun in a circle. The elements fed off her energy. Lightening danced in the sky as thunder boomed in the air. She was a part of the race that was the watchers of the elements. Their moods controlled the weather. Their emotional balance and calm maintained this earth, and today that balance was tilted by Angela’s smile.
The flood came swift, and was gone quickly as she danced on her boulder. The town and people were swept away as she sang with the thunder. She embraced her long forgotten dreams as the wind uprooted the surrounding trees. Today she smiled, and for that the world would pay.

Blood Witch Reviews
I have gotten some of the best reviews for Blood Witch and just wanted to share some of them.
4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! April 17, 2013By jamie nortonFormat:Kindle EditionSo this Book was neat with the way the characters and storylines are written.
I was super excited to read it due to the fact it was written about Merced County, California (a place I was born n raised)
I Loved all the characters but especially Leslie, Collin, Patrick and Nathaniel (yummy) lol
My only problem was the ending could have had a better cliffhanger instead of leaving me feeling like it just dropped off. But it was still enough to make me want to read the next one
**Disclaimer--This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review**
4.0 out of 5 stars Good intro to a series April 17, 2013By mtibbittsFormat:Kindle EditionWhen I started reading the book I had a little bit of a hard time getting into the story. I am glad that I stuck with it though because it gets SO much better the farther in that you get. My only complaint is that it seemed to me like there could have been more added to this initial story to wrap it up and begin the sequel. I loved the characters and the overall story though and I hope to be able to read any future books in this series because I really want to know what happens!!
4.0 out of 5 stars Worth Checking Out, April 15, 2013By HopeWasHere - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Blood Witch (Opposite Side) (Kindle Edition)Overall I really enjoyed reading this book. Ellie's cast of characters definitely kept the plot moving and the pages turning. Leslie, a rare blood witch is faced with constant predicaments that challenge her at the her core. At first the story centers around Leslie and her two roommates/co-workers Collin and Patrick as she introduces you into their world. I liked the camaraderie that Ellie was able to describe between these three because Leslie seems like she's going to need some solid friends. Once Nathan is introduced into the story as the local werebear pack's king and spices up the plot with a little romance. I do wish the story hadn't ended so suddenly though. Towards the end your introduced to a lot of new twists and turns but nothing is tied up at all. However, I am awaiting book two in this series in hopes that I can become more attached to the characters and figure out what was going on in the first book when it just ended. If you're looking for a book that has a fast moving plot, good dialogue and a nice array of characters and elements, you should give Blood Witch a try.
5.0 out of 5 stars Blood Witch April 10, 2013By K.J. DahlenFormat:Kindle EditionI read the first part and can't wait to read the rest. Ellie, you are such a tease!
The story line is intriguing and new. I haven't read anything quite like this before. You sucked me into your plot almost from the beginning. Can't wait to get the rest of it!
