Sunday Snippet! Playing with Magic book 2 in the Element Trilogy.

“My, My.” Moorgun said walking around Peardon after walked in dropping the man on the floor. She took in his short black hair and his hazel eyes, he was shorter than most of the others. He might do. She licked her lips, and ran her liver spotted left hand over his shoulder. He is fit enough. He will do tonight, but first. “Who sent you, my little lamb?” her voice came out as seductive as she could make it.

He crossed his arms in front of him, and made no motion to talk. Bryce stood behind him like a silent sentinel making sure the man didn’t hurt his Lady. “Let me, mistress,” Bryce said pulling out a silver double bladed knife so quick that even Moorgun didn’t see. The hilt she knew was of bone, because she had given it to him as a gift.

“You will speak when Lady asks.” He held the blade firm and tight against the traitor’s neck. He could feel as it sliced into the thin layer of Peardon’s neck, but he had to hold himself back. The bloodlust called and he wanted to finish the job and just slit the man’s throat. If Peardon struggled it would happen anyway.

“I have nothing to say to you bitch!” he finally shouted already knowing his life was about to end.

She stepped back. “Did you hear what he called me?” she said raising her voice. Bryce put more pressure on the blade. Blood flowed from the wound.
“No. I need him. He must talk,” Moorgun said.

Neva came in carrying another wooden box of herbs. What a good tasty girl. It’s such a pity I might have to kill her, Moorgun thought.

“Can I do it my mistress?” Bryce asked.
