Let Love In Melissa Collins Release Day!
Release date: May 10th Blurb:

That’s exactly what happened to Madeleine Becker when her parents died when she was ten years old. Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again. The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can't get hurt if she doesn't fall in love.
That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy's pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world. Maddy's inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past.
Together they find out what happens when they let love in.

Book Review!

Blurb:VEGAN ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE:
In the post-apocalypse worlderness, zombies rule the earth. They're allergic to meat, and brains literally make them explode.
Zombies now eat blood potatoes, parasitic tubers grown in the flesh of humancows corralled in maximum security farms.
The necros, barbaric human nomads travelling the worlderness in floating villages, worship the zombies. The necros both eat the zombies, and wear clothes made from them; they live in houses built of bricks of undead flesh. They also keep zombies as sex slaves.
Two fugitives meet in the ancient ruins of Texas. The first is Soil 15-f, a womancow who's escaped her farm a week before she's due to be killed and her blood potato crop harvested. The second fugitive is Able Kane, former head necros food technician, now sentenced to death for heresy.
But Soil is no ordinary humancow. Unknown to herself, she's the vegan zombie agricultural revolution, and the zombies desperately want her back.
And the necros equally desperately want Able Kane dead. He's fled with a forbidden discovery which will reshape the world for the worse if used. And Able is just hardheaded/misguided enough to use it.
With android zombinators and the head necros assassin (Able's ex-girlfriend Morphia) after them, Soil and Able Kane have no choice but to climb the lemon tree to Haeven, residence of the zombie god Necro.
And by anyone's reckoning, Soil and Able Kane are the two people in the worlderness who should never have been let into Haeven.
Back cover description:
Fear not mankind, the omniscient God Necro proclaims that your tasty brains will be safe from the ravenous undead during the impending zombie apocalypse. Unfortunately for most of you, however, the enlightened zombie hoard plans to herd you like cattle on their potato plantations and use your fertile bodies to grow their specialized blood veggies.
Only by prostrating yourself before the Great Necro can you join forces with other faithful necros and defend humanity from the ever encroaching zombie invasion. But it won’t be easy, especially if you’ve just escaped from the vegfarm – and you already have the cattle brand on your forehead and the telltale potato vines sprouting from your body.
Bounty-hunting zombinators, flying cleaver-laden helicopters and cockrockets, will soon be hot on your trail as you race toward the Promised Land and the sanctuary that is known as the Republic of Texas.

What is your favorite quote and why? *Beware Rant Inside*

My parents pushed religion on me, when they didn't go. Yes that can create a bitterness in one so young. If I had questions my parents didn't know what I was talking about. I don't know about you but Catholicism can be scary at some points. I was given a choice to follow other religions when I turned 10 which led me to other churches and learn other religions. Which opened my mind to other peoples believes. I have friends who are Buddhist, Catholic, Rastafarian, Wicca, Jewish, Atheist and oh so many others.
Another is Race- I grew up in a town that had me as a minority. Was I treated any different by these people, no, why because we were all low income families. So we totally got what was going on. Yes the richer kids treated us differently, but other then that. I didn't hate based on race. I had friends of many races, and I loved learning about their lives. I also showed them things. One of my friends I introduced to sour cream for the first time, and she went on a sour cream bender. My favorite thing of course was trying the different food and explained how it was prepared. If I had been closed minded I could have followed after some of the Prejudice views that I was raised around, and because I had an open mind I learned a lot.

Another favorite is: A person is a person no matter how small they are.-Dr Seuss. It seems fitting. So if you made it this far what is your favorite quote and why?

Snippet Sunday!!
Here is another snippet from my Dark Adult Fantasy Playing with Magic which I am editing at the moment.
“Mississippi looks nice in spring,” Envy said. “How do you know when it looks nice? You’ve never been here before,” Ivy Lee replied handing her baby to Linden. Who looked at the crying infant unsure on what to do with it. He might have helped create it but his fathering skills were lacking unlike Drake and Rowan who both leak daddy mojo. “Give me a fucking break,” he finally said angrily standing up. “Should we pull over?” Drake asked from the front. “Yes,” River and Rowan said together. They might have been on the road for about a week, but to them it felt like a year. With the babies crying and everyone stuck together bitching.Drake pulled over. River pulled out a small revolver, and opened the door cautiously. He looked around and jumped out gun pointing wildly around. When he noticed he was in no danger he shoved the gun in his pants. “Hey I know this place,” he said. “My daddy brought me here when I was younger.” Drake had pulled off beside the Mississippi river that ran through a nice little park. “I thought you were born in Tennessee?” Envy asked. He shrugged. “So. Dad liked to take me places when I was a boy. This park was on the way to New Orleans. Dad liked to go there a lot.” Drake stretched yawning. “Someone else has to drive. I’m beat.” Envy hugged him, planting a sloppy kiss on him. River and Rowan both turned away making grossed out faces. River walked down through the long grass passed sick looking trees to the river. His dark blue eyes scanned the rock bed and found a fairly flat stone; he picked it up and skimmed it across the river surface. “Yo, kid. I’d be careful by that water,” a deep voice said at his left. He jumped pulling out the revolver, and pointing it at the man. “What do you want?” The man had a cigarette dangling from his lips. He took it out of his mouth, blew the smoke from his nose and flicked it in the river. The water instantly caught on fire, and the orange-yellow flames spread out over the river surface. With the gun pointed at the stranger River’s mouth fell open. “I’ve been waiting to do that for two years.” “Why did you do that?” The man shrugged. “I felt like it.” Rowan and Drake ran over. “River,” they started to say and stopped when they saw the man. He was dressed all in black. Black jeans, black shirt, black leather riding jacket, black boots and black sunglasses. His hair matched the darkness. “The devil does live in Georgia,” fell from Drake’s mouth. The man let out a good-natured laugh. “Not really, I believe Florida now. So where are you heading? And let me add I plan on doing you no harm.” He motioned to the revolver still pointed at him.

Blurb:Take a walk with a crying stranger, sit down to play chess with a strange old man, see what happens when Lucifer has an eye on you, watch what happens when you win in a future lottery, and other tales to scare you into the night. Meet monsters, mutants, aliens and demons in Flight of Delusion, a collection of short stories that range from the weird to the scary.
Excerpt:The Crying Stranger
A luminous glow radiated around the silent figure. Her white skin untainted by the sun’s harsh touch, as her eyes twinkled like fiery green emeralds. Her straight calf length auburn hair flowed around her like a red veil. Her natural crimson lips moved as she sang to herself. The song seemed so right on this dark dreary night. She walked through the darkness unafraid of anything around her. She had no worries. The millions of stars burned brightly above her small head. Her feet bare amongst the new spring grass made her feel almost alive. She stopped. Bending her head slightly to the left, she listened. The small night sounds were so crisped to her elfin ears. She listened through the sounds until she heard it. The call.
Cestoda
Bobbie found himself hiding in the dark, noises and screams all around him. His heart hammered hard in his chest. Think you idiot, he said. He moved the plastic aside for a small peek under the table he hid under. The sun had started to set about half an hour ago. The sight of everyone tripping or jumping over the dead bodies seemed almost unnerving. He was so glad the acid trip was over. Two other people slipped under the table. He moved to the very edge, scared. They too were frightened by the sight of him. No one said anything for some time. They just stared at each other while the screaming and the scuff of shoes passed by. A loud shriek filled the air, which made him think of Sky. Bobbie tried to think back to how he had gotten here. Fucking weird day.
Windigo
Eating the flesh of another is said to steal their essence to become more of what I am. It’s a half truth, I have become more powerful but in a way that is making me less human more animal. I don’t mind it really; the animal part is a relief from the human in me who finds it disturbing to eat a fellow person. The Native Americans call creatures like me Windigos. I went to the library one evening after work and looked it up. Again half truths, is all I found. I know what I am or rather what I’ve done and need. There it says a person who gives themselves freely to that of the Windigo will go into the forest for seven days and fast and sacrifice themselves to the spirit of the Windigo. That isn’t what happened to me.
The Job
May you walk through the raining pools of blood, and dance on the guts of your victims. The words floated to the top of her head. She had been given a job, a good job, a job she knew she could really do. A job she had been dreaming for since she could remember. Remember since when? Lucifer had explained her duties, and she planned on doing her very best. To show not only Lucifer, but his other head-honchos that he chose well. Raining pools of blood.
