Crown Hat I madeOther then writing I had no "thing" as I call it. My hubby has a talent for drawing, leather working, and he has a forge he is playing with to do metal work. I write. Oh and he cooks and bakes. I read. Our friend one day decides he wants to learn to sew and bam- he can use a sew machine like he has been using it since he was a kid. I got a little sad because they are all talented and well yes writing is a talent it really isn't a hobby, not to me anyway. I started working at the bank and they do Hats for Hope every year. People donate yarn and looms, and you can borrow a loom. One of the ladies was knitting on the loom and I thought I should try it. I didn't know I would actually be pretty good at it. I do hats, bags, and scarfs. I am building up to make a blanket soon. But while some people think it is boring I think it is soothing. I call it my zen moment. When I work with the look my brain goes to sleep. I don't think of work, life problems, and I can stop the characters in my mind. It is like reading, but only there is more quiet. For you writers what keeps your minds quiet. For everyone else what are your favorite hobbies?
