Scene-Snippet Sunday: Omega, by Susannah Sandlin

Welcome to scene-snippet Sunday! Each week, I trot out a piece of writing that contains part of a scene. This week, I'm pulling from an early scene in Omega (Penton Legacy 3, coming February 5). Check out Redemption (book one) and Absolution (book two), of course, so you'll be ready!

So, in this scene, Will's the designated supply-purchaser for the Omega facility. He's been to buy supplies at the Home Depot in Opelika, Alabama, which is about thirty miles from Penton (and also happens to be wh...

The Penton Times: A Vampire Looks at College Football

by Will Ludlam, as told to Susannah Sandlin

I freaking love football. I would've liked to play in high school but, well, that's a long story. Let's just say my grades weren't up to my dad's standards and "William" spent a lot of time doing extra projects.

Since I've been living in Penton, I've been following a nearby university. Well, okay, I actually went to the Auburn campus looking for nice, unvaccinated college girls (and boy did I find some beauties) but kinda got hooked on football when I...

Tag, I'm It! The Next Big Thing: Absolution (Penton Legacy)

I've been tagged in The Next Big Thing blog hop by author SM Blooding. So, before you head along your merry way, hop over to her website (and her great Blooding Book Reviews site) and check it out! Thanks, Frankie!

Now, I'm supposed to answer these 10 questions about a work-in-progress, but my real WIP is only two chapters long at present, so it's too early to talk about. Instead, I'll answer them with regard to Absolution, the second book in my Penton Vampire Legacy series, which came out Oct...

THE PENTON TIMES: Vampire Reality TV Shows

The Penton Times, a thrice-weekly newspaper of Penton, Alabama:

SURVIVOR: PENTON

By Aidan Murphy, as told to Susannah Sandlin:

I just don't get it. Susannah was in a swivet Sunday night, trying to get her DVR to record two shows at once.

In one show, a bunch of squabbling humans travel to countries around the world, doing humiliating things like eating bug larvae and having body hair ripped off using hot wax. Whoever gets hairless first and survives rides with taxi drivers who a) don't know their...

Scene-Snippet Sunday: Absolution

Welcome to a late version of Scene-Snippet Sunday! Each Sunday, I pull a snippet from one of my novels and offer a little taste. Today's snippet is from Absolution, where I briefly took some of the characters outside of Penton and to my favorite city, New Orleans. Glory has been taken there unconscious, has escaped, and is trying to figure out where she is...

She didn’t dare wait. The doorknob turned easily, and she flung it open, ran onto a broad wooden porch, and tripped...

THE PENTON TIMES: A Vampire Talks Presidential Politics

WHAT THE (Bleep)?

by Mirren Kincaid, as told to Susannah Sandlin

What the (bleep) is up with this election? I thought the Vampire Tribunal was seriously (bleeped) up, but this has gotten out of hand. I mean, did it ever occur to these politicians that if the money spent on political advertising were applied to the national debt, then it...oh, (bleep) it. If they were reasonable people, they wouldn't be in politics.

I think Aidan Murphy would make a good president, although he'd have a breakdown...
