Inheritance Books – Alana Cash

This week, I’m delighted to host Alana Cash, who is one of the most adventurous people I’ve had as a guest. Hi Alana, welcome to Inheritance Books. Please tell us a bit about yourself.

HeadshotI grew up in a military family and I’m an adventurer. I like to try new things and visit new places. I love Venice and Mexican border towns. I trekked through war-torn Serbia alone and a week later slept in a KGB Interrogation Cell which had been converted to a hostel. All night I could hear the clack of feet on...

Designing freebies to go in the conference goodie bag

2013-07-04 22.22.14

I’m going to the Romantic Novelists Association conference next week. I’m so excited about this, it’s ridiculous. It’s a whole weekend talking about writing and romance. More importantly, it’s a whole weekend being just me. Not the wife, not the mother, not the tech transfer lady, none of those thing. It’s just me, being me and being the writer. I. Can’t. WAIT.

I’m making lists – what to take (chocolate, teabags, wine… oh yeah, clothes), what notes to make on my WIP, people I need to talk to....

For years, I was a bit of a gypsy, moving across...

Inheritance Books – Carol E Wyer

This week’s Inheritance Books are from the brilliant Carol E Wyer.

Hi Carol, welcome to inheritance books, tell us a bit about yourself, written in first person.

Carol E WyerIt’s always tricky, writing about oneself. You don’t want to come across as a prima donna, cocksure or an idiot. I seem to manage to come across as an idiot quite frequently. It started years ago when I used to be the class clown, but that is another story. I suppose it’s easier to be a bit of a fool or a clown because if you are, you...

Rhoda Baxter

Reblogged from Isabella Louise Anderson:

About author, Rhoda Baxter: Rhoda Baxter started off in the South of England and pinged around the world a bit until she ended up in the North of England, where the cakes are better. Along the way she collected one husband, two kids, a few (ahem) extra pounds in weight and a PhD in molecular biology (not necessarily in that order).

Film review – Star Trek: Into Darkness

There’s no Inheritance Books this week, because it went out on Friday, so I thought I’d do one of my random film reviews. There are spoilers, so if you’ve not seen the film, turn away now.

I watched Star Trek as a kid. I’m not a Trekker. I say this not because I want to distance myself from the misfit/geek aspects of it (I’ll happily admit to both), but because I’m not dedicated enough to be a fan. I’ve only seen the original series, although I’ve seen enough of the Next Generation to know who...

Inheritance Books – T Michelle Nelson

This week’s Inheritance Books are from T. Michelle Nelson. HiMichelle (or should I call you T?), welcome to the blog. Tell me a bit about yourself.

Publication1I was raised in Benton, KY and graduated from Murray State University with a degree in Education. Later I moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio where I now live with my family and two ill-behaved dogs. When I’m not writing, I’m usually sleeping or working on fixing up a 100-year old house I bought here in this lovely town I now call home.

Which book have you...

Review: Wish You Were Here

Wish You Were Here

Wish You Were Here by Victoria Connelly

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ever since I read the lovely and quirky Molly’s MillionsMolly's Millions by Victoria Connelly, I’ve tended to keep an eye out for Victoria Connelly’s contemporary romances.

Wish You Were Here follows terribly sensible Alice Archer on her holiday to one of the Greek islands, where she makes a wish on an Aphrodite statue. She meets Milo Galani,...
