The Quickie…

Stats: Rosanna Leo is a multipublished author with Liquid Silver Books. Her favorite things are her family, dusty libraries and Nutella. She loves it when the geeky girl ends up with the hot guy. Rosanna is the author of For the Love of a God, Up In Flames, Sweet Hell, The Selkie and the upcoming Sunburn.
Latest Release: The Selkie
Genre: Paranormal Erotic Romance
The Selkie, Blurb: This was supposed to be her year. However, after losing her job and discovering her fiancé cheating, Maggie Collins has her doubts. When her grandmother dies, she hits rock bottom. Maggie travels to her grandmother’s home in Orkney, Scotland to sort through her gran’s things, only to discover the old woman has left her a seal pelt as her inheritance. She also learns that others are after the pelt.
To add to her frustration, Maggie’s dreams are filled with luscious images of a long-haired man, images that draw her to the magical beaches in Orkney. Although she’s lost her trust in men, this dream man inspires her with a lust she’s never known before.
Calan Kirk has also been dreaming. Dreaming of Maggie, the mortal woman who arouses him as no other woman ever has. Meeting her in the flesh when she arrives in Orkney is nothing short of spontaneous sexual combustion. But she is a human, and not to be trusted. He needs the seal pelt, not a red-haired temptress.
As a thief ransacks Maggie’s grandmother’s house, Maggie and Calan are thrust together. They must search for the animal skin, a mythical relic which once found, will either bring them together or rip them apart forever.

Smex Quotient: Did you see that book cover? Seriously, did you see it?! I want a freakin' selkie and I want one now! All I can say is yum and please Rosanna, can I please, please have some more!
The Afternoon Delight…
What is a selkie and what made you decide on a incorporating the selkie myth into a romance?
Rosanna: Great question, Laurel! A selkie is a mythological creature from Scottish and Irish folklore. It is a seal shape shifter, basically...with a very sexy twist. When a selkie is wearing his/her seal pelt, they can move as a seal in water. However, they can shed their seal skins and become human and live on land. The myth says that if you find a discarded selkie pelt, that selkie is obliged to pleasure you. And selkies are reputed to have incredible lovemaking abilities. So search those beaches! However, the selkie will always want to return to his beloved sea and will try to find his pelt. There are countless legends of selkies who've been "captured" for a time, even sired children with humans. However, when they find that hidden pelt, they drop everything and leave, even deserting their devastated human partners. I thought this was a very sexy myth, and formed a great conflict for two characters. Will he leave? Won't he?
I love Maggie's character, you just wanna grab her and give her a big old hug. What inspiration did you have for her character?
Rosanna: I actually know a woman, a wonderful, giving woman, who was horribly mistreated by a couple of men. Without saying anything too personal, let's just say her story really inspired me, and I wanted to give her a happy ending.
Maggie and Calan have some pretty hot and heavy, OMG! Chemistry. How did you decide how these two would first meet (outside of their dreams of course)?
Rosanna: Thank-you Laurel! I knew their first meeting had to be on an Orkney beach. After all, he is a creature of the sea and Maggie was so fond of her grandmother's Orkney heritage. There's something inherently sexy about love on a beach. I knew I wanted that first proper glimpse of Calan to be with him rising out of the dark waves, his hair wet and streaming down his back, water droplets kissing his bare skin. I wanted Maggie to be utterly blown away by this man.
I never thought I would ever say this but...Calan is one sexy seal! How did you decide what the embodiment of a hot water seal would look like in flesh and manly bone?
Rosanna: Well, when you read the myths, selkies are hot! And any artist interpretation has been so as well. People said to me, "I don't know about seal shape shifters." But when you research these legends, the human forms of these creatures are stunning, captivating. He had to be super gorgeous. And I made him cheeky, but a little badass, to compensate for any visions of cuddly seals. Calan is mostly man in my book. I don't dwell on the seal much. I talk more about the powers granted to one like him.
If Maggie and Calan were to participate in Casual Smex Friday, which segment would they each like the most, The Quickie, The Afternoon Delight or the Midnight Grind?
Rosanna: I have no doubt that Maggie and Calan have experienced all of these pleasures many times! LOL. They are...how shall we say...very active. And as Calan puts it himself, selkie appetities are insatiable!
Can readers expect to see more of Maggie and Calan anytime in the future? If not do you have any other mystically inclined works to whet our appetites?
Rosanna: Well, Calan has 6 dishy brothers, and I'm already planning the next brother's story. I'm sure Calan and Maggie will make a little appearance there. And if you like myth, I have several Greek god novels to my credit: For the Love of a God, Sweet Hell, and the upcoming Sunburn (releases Jan. 7). I love my men supernatural and mythological, and adore pairing these incredible creatures with flustered, geeky mortal women!
The Midnight Grind…
So banish any thoughts of cold wet seals, and imagine the smooth hot bodies of two people intent on pleasuring each other. Hmmm the beach never seemed so appealing so brace yourselves for some sandy naughty fun...
She was attempting to stand on her wobbly legs, only to fall back down on her bottom, when she heard the sound of splashing water. Thinking it was her seal, Maggie turned to look.
Her breath caught in her throat. It wasn’t the animal at all.
It was a man. He was rising out of the waves, walking toward her. She froze. He was nude, utterly nude, and was staring at her with overflowing intimacy. As if they’d had, God help her, relations.
And she realized, with sudden panic, they’d had! In her dreams. He was the seal-man from all her sex dreams.
No. Impossible.
Her first instinct was to call for help, but there was no one near. And then she realized with frightening awareness that she didn’t want any help anyway. Glued to her spot, she couldn’t help but drink him in.
He was beautiful, if unnervingly wet and naked. He had long, shiny, brown hair that hung down past his shoulders. His face could have belonged on an ad for expensive cologne, and he had a body to match. Sculpted shoulders gave way to arms corded in muscle. His defined chest was blanketed by a smattering of sparse, brown hair that led tantalizingly to his rock-hard abs.
Maggie held her breath as her gaze traveled lower on his body, taking in trim calves and thighs a quarterback would envy. And, she noted with simultaneous hunger and horror, his penis was the biggest she’d ever had the pleasure of seeing. It was thick and long and glistening with the droplets of water that yet cascaded over his body. And it seemed to be reaching for her. She gulped, and forced herself to look back up at his face.
There was a faint glow about his skin, a shimmery aura. Dismissing it as a trick of the moonlight, she shook her head.
He was almost upon her, and his full lips were taut in a teasing grin. Maybe he was a surfer who’d lost not only his board, but his shorts in the waves. She knew she should be frantic, but wasn’t. There was something in his brown eyes that was so familiar, so soothing, even as they swept over her own body with lustful appreciation.
He stopped in front of her, and stood boldly, unashamed of his glorious nakedness. She managed to spit out one hushed word. “You.”
“You,” was his equally awed reply.

Virtual Book Tour: First Stop!

The awesome ladies at Goddess Fish Promotions have set up a virtual book tour for Negotiating Skills and it officially starts today! My first stop will be on the Rachel Leigh Romance Blog (rachelleighromance.blogspot.com).
So what is a virtual book tour you ask? A virtual book tour is a tour where an author (moi) tours different blogs around the internet instead of bookstores. I get to have guest posts and interviews with different book bloggers and review sites and get exposure to their readers and audience. It's a great way to get exposure and to meet other bloggers, readers and writers.
I'm super excited to finally get started! Follow me along on the tour and get a chance to be one of three participants who wins either a $10 Amazon gift card, 4GB USB flash drive or an "I heart Dr. Who" coffee mug!

Casual Smex Friday with Fiona McGier

Hello All,
Are you ready for some smex? Admit it, you're in the mood to get smexy and I have just the thing for you. Welcome to Casual Smex Friday! Today you’re encouraged to sit back, relax and get smexy. Remember, smex day posts consist of four segments.
1.) The Quickie- For those of you who only have time for some quick relief.
2.) The Afternoon Delight- For the reader who wants a little foreplay before smexing.
3.) The Midnight Grind-For those of you who want to go beyond foreplay and get to main show.
4.) The After Glow Strut- For those of you not afraid to show your love and go for another round.
Today I’m bringing you an interview with the apocalypticly smexy inclined Fiona McGier. Let’s get started shall we?

The Quickie…
Name: Fiona McGier
Stats: Fiona has always had stories in her head. Characters intrude into her thoughts and insist on showing her scenes from their lives. She discovered that when she ignores them, they start to yell louder; if she writes their stories and they can live in readers' heads as well, they usually leave her alone. Only to be replaced by a new group of story-tellers. Her head is usually a very crowded place, but she likes it that way.
Latest Release: Prophecy of the Undead
Genre: Paranormal Erotic Romance
Prophecy of the Undead, Blurb: Keisha is a neurobiology researcher determined to discover the secret to intelligence to save humanity from itself. What she learns leads her to realize a bigger threat comes from beyond the stars. Yuri is a Russian vampire whose long-dead feelings respond to the scientist whose brain he admires but whose curves he can't resist. Will his love reach the places in her heart that she has ignored for so long? And can they defeat the prophecy of the undead to find happiness sharing eternity?
Availability: Eternal Press
Smex Quotient: Holy Mayan apocalypse Batman! I've yet to get my hands on a copy of this book, but Fiona was nice enough to share several excerpts with me and let me just say...Whooooo Wheee! Just brace yourselves lovelies, for a scorching read.
The Afternoon Delight…
Mayans, vampires, apocalypses, Oh my! What made you decide to decide to write an apocalyptic romance?
Fiona: Dreams. Two of them. In the first one I met Keisha, who wanted to make everyone as smart as her, which obviously would not make her popular with those who want the masses to be ignorant and controllable. In the second dream I met Yuri, the handsome Russian vampire who has a scientist's heart, despite his peasant upbringing. And I wanted to "play" with the idea of the Dec. 21, 2012 date that some fear, yet most of us think is going to be as unspectacular as the advent of the year 2000.
I love a smart and quirky heroine. What made you decide to make Keisha a neurobiologist?
Fiona: I love intelligent and resourceful heroines. I've written alpha females also, but this particular woman has always ignored her passions to pursue her scientific goals, to improve the lives of everyone around her. I've been reading a lot of Anthropology and Sociology books, and thinking of how much more the human race could achieve if we all turned off the TV and read and talked to each other more. And enough of beating up nerds for liking to learn!
The chemistry between Yuri and Keisha is more than a little hot (more like volcanic really), If they participated in Casual Smex Friday which segment would they each like the most and why? The Quickie, Afternoon Delight or Midnight Grind?
Fiona: They do like quickies. They have a few in the course of this book. Afternoon Delight would be impossible at this point, because even though Yuri is old enough in the blood to be awake for part of the daylight hours, Keisha is too young and basically goes "dead" when the sun comes up. Midnight Grind would be their favorite, because everything fun is even better when you can take your time!
What was your favorite scene or set of scenes to write?
Fiona: I really liked the sharing of minds that Keisha does with the two older vampires...the mated gay couple. I loved the idea that when you are sharing blood, you are in someone else's memories. I loved the idea of sharing yourself on this level, and of being privvy to someone else's life experiences like that. I love my close friends and family members, but I can't ever "be" in their heads. This was my opportunity to imagine what that would be like: the ultimate cerebral intimacy. Good sex doesn't all just occur with physical bodies...your mind has to be involved as well.
Yuri is by far one of the sexiest vampires I've had the pleasure of reading about. What was your inspiration for his character?
Fiona: At the risk of embarrassing him, I'd have to say my husband. I've always been partial to tall men, and when I met him he was tall, blond and had very light skin because it was in December. He used to want to be Illya Kuriaken (David McCallum) in the old TV show, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. because along with his Russian accent, Illya was smart and clever enough to solve problems while still looking hot in a black turtleneck and black pants. That's my Yuri: Tall, blond, light-skinned, hard-bodied, intelligent, and attracted to smart, curvy women. If not every woman's dream, at least he's mine!
The Midnight Grind…
So when the end of the world is near what's a neurobiologist to do? Get to smexing of course! Here's a smexy excerpt for your reading pleasure...
“Don’t we have a plane to catch?” Her voice was a husky
murmur.
Yuri bent his head further down to slide his tongue along the
side of her neck. He poked the tip of it into her ear, gently biting
her lobe and blowing softly into her hair. When he spoke it was
directly into her ear.
“We have some time before we need to be at the airport.”
“Enough time?” She felt brazen as the words left her lips.
He chuckled, a sexy low sound, as his chest moved up and
down again. She remembered this from the dream he fed into her
mind when he brought her into this reality.
“Perhaps not for all of the things I imagine doing with you.
Enough to take the edge off my need...and yours too.”
His fingers traced the cleft between her glutes and continued
until they reached the source of the moisture her body produced.
One finger moved forward again to reach the tiny bud under the
hood of skin—rubbing...swirling...rubbing.
With a small scream Keisha came, trembling with the intensity
of her feelings.
“You see—becoming what we are makes our skin so much more
sensitive. I haven’t desired anyone for many years. Now all I can
think about is how much I want to act out that dream I gave you.”
“Which part?” She gasped.
“This one.” He pushed himself forward to part her nether lips
with his cock. He held her suspended in the air so she wrapped
her legs around his hips and pushed back against him. The feeling
of being opened by him was overwhelming. Every hair on his
groin rubbed against her skin. The delicious feeling of being parted
and filled was followed by his withdrawing. All the while, her
inner muscles squeezed against him, trying to hold him inside of
her. Then he surged forward again.
Gravity forced Keisha downwards. She rode the rod as it entered
her then pulled out and entered her again. The full weight
of her body pushed her clit against his pole—its hood pulled back
to allow her to feel everything. Even without needing to, she panted
and shrieked out her passion. She rode him hard—aiming for
more and more of the small orgasms rocking her world, blinding
her with the flashes of light that played against her closed eyelids.
Suddenly, she ceased all movement as she concentrated on the
feeling that something big was happening...something huge was
about to happen. Then she exploded.
The intensity of her orgasm slammed into her like a freight
train. She screamed as much in surprise as in extreme pleasure.
Every cell in her body pulsated with the blood pounding at the
confined space of her body as if it wanted to explode outward.
Then the pleasure peaked again and again and again.

My blog is the first page of my website: www.fionamcgier.com. Foreplay Monday with Fiona McGier

Welcome to Foreplay Monday! I've been thinking about starting a post highlighting upcoming book releases and book events for authors. It's also a great way to prepare you for the Casual Smex Friday posts ;). So please join me in welcoming author Fiona McGier. She's stopped by today to give us a sneak peek into her upcoming book, Prophecy of the Undead.
Introducing Fiona McGier...
Fiona has always had stories in her head, with characters telling her about their lives. Often she wakes up with entire story arcs that she has to feverishly write down before starting her day. Now that her four children are erudite young adults, she hides from everyone for hours, bringing the stories to life. She hopes that you enjoy your short trip into her mind as you meet some of the heroines and heroes who live there, and now on these pages also.
You can learn more about Fiona and her upcoming book releases via her website and blog at www.fionamcgier.com.

Genre: Paranormal Contemporary Romance w/ Erotic Elements
Blurb: Keisha is a neurobiology researcher determined to discover the secret to intelligence to save humanity from itself.
Release Date: November 1st 2012
Publisher: Eternal Press
Tell us a little bit about your upcoming release, Prophecy of the Undead. What was your inspiration?
Fiona: Actually it was a couple of dreams. Good dreams, I might add! I dreamed of the heroine and ideas of what happens to her, what she looks like, what her job is, etc. I started to write and got writer's bloc after the second chapter, so I put it away. I had another dream about 6 months later, and a tall, blond, sexy man told me I was having trouble because I was giving her the wrong hero...it had to be him. I asked him why and he smiled, showing vampire teeth. I told him I don't do vampires...too over-done. He laughed and told me to research the Mayans, since I was planning on working the end of the world idea into the book. I discovered how totally saturated with blood were all of the religious rituals...why did the Mayan gods need so much human blood? But then if they were vampires...
Can you give us a little taste of how your hero or heroine would go about foreplay?
Fiona: Yes. The image Yuri projects into Keisha's mind while he is draining her blood to save her life:
She was suddenly on a downy-soft bed, naked, with a man's head between her thighs. His tongue was driving her mad with desire as he alternated between licking her from front to back, then nibbling on her clit gently. When his fingers pulled the hood back and his teeth grazed her clit, she screamed with pleasure as the orgasm crashed through her with the force of a tsunami. She felt herself rise up off of the bed with the tightening of her muscles, then the man loomed before her, spread her thighs uncomfortably wide and his hips surged forward.
If your heroine could describe the one thing they find the sexiest about the hero what would it be?
Fiona: Keisha feels safe with Yuri, and his proclamations of eternal love give her hope for the first time in her life, that someone really loves her the way she's always wanted to be loved. So she finds that extremely sexy.
Yuri finds her intelligence to be a real turn-on. He was fascinated reading her scholarly published works, and intrigued by her picture. When he actually met her he was enthralled and smitten. He also loves her generous curves!
What was your favorite scene/ situation to write?
Fiona: I really enjoyed writing about when the heroine meets and shares blood with some of the oldest vampires the hero knows. I wanted to portray how they exchanged thoughts along with the blood, gaining abilities from each other in the process. I enjoyed thinking about it, I hope the readers will also.
Is there anything else you'd like to tell readers?
Fiona: Please give my book a chance even if you don't like vampire books. I promise I have a new "take" on them!
Hmmm, it sounds like this book will indeed be a scorcher! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. Frankly Ms. McGier had me at neurobiologist. This book will definitely be on my TBR list at the very top. For those of you who need a little more stimulation to get you in the mood here's an excerpt of Prophecy of the Undead for your smexing pleasure...
"Does this mean that when I feed on people I will be killing them? Can I use animals instead?"
Yuri shook his head, "Animals can be used in extreme emergencies, but not on a regular basis. Whatever we are, whatever it is that lives inside of our blood, prefers human blood. I don't know why...that's one of the things I was hoping you would find out for me."
"I don't know how I'm going to research anything anymore. If Dan knew about the plot to kill me, then he's in on it," she looked away and appeared to be concentrating deeply. "In fact, since he's one of the only ones who knew what I had found, he probably knows about what I discovered about my work also. In fact, that may be part of why he was so friendly with me to begin with. Shit! I thought I was just using him for sex, but apparently he was pumping me for information all along."
At Yuri's startled choke she looked at his face and realized he was chuckling again. He shrugged. "Sorry...but that's not all he was pumping you for."
Keisha stuck her tongue out at him, "Ha, ha. Okay, pun unintentional, but acknowledged."
"Keisha, if you don't mind my asking, what had you discovered that made you suddenly so disposable?"
She shifted around on his lap, "Of course I don't mind your asking. You can put me down now. I think I'm done having a panic attack."
He smiled at her, "Are you sure? I kind of like holding you on my lap."
Keisha started as she felt a part of him twitch against her thigh. She looked closely at his face, "We can still have sex? I thought that wasn't possible anymore."
Yuri laughed out loud. "What would be the point of eternal life if you had to give up having sex? Like I said, the longer you are a vampire, the more you discover about what you can still do. Whatever makes us alive wants us to be happy or it can't be alive within us," he shrugged again. "Besides, haven't you read any vampire erotica lately? We're all the rage these days."

With his domineering, alpha male personality Quint can tell that Alejandro is a man accustomed to getting what he wants, and he wants Quint. But this time Alejandro may have bitten off more than he can chew, while Quint is wondering if there is more to this arrangement then him needing a top notch PA?

The Afternoon Delight…
Tessa has an interesting habit of speaking to herself out loud. What inspired you to give her character that trait?
DeLeetra: Truthfully, I have no idea. She started talking one day and at times she would just go off, on a random tangent. It was as if she was not talking to me, but thinking out loud. Also, I think that it is hilarious when people say what they are thinking. You can see them cringe because it was not supposed to come out of their mouth. That two second brain lapse is the funniest part of my day. I truly wonder what people are thinking and I sometimes make up thoughts for their facial expressions. Is that weird?
Galliani's character is pretty much sex on a stick. A hot, sexy, tattooed, deliciously yummy stick. If he instituted a Casual Smex Friday for his company (with only Tessa of course) which segment do you think would be his favorite? The Quickie, The Afternoon Delight or The Midnight Grind? What about Tessa's favorite? and Why?
DeLeetra: For Galliani…the Midnight Grind. I think Galliani is a midnight kind of guy, you never know what is going to happen when the clock strikes twelve. Now Quint, her favorite would be the Afternoon Delight, just because she would get a kick out of whispering to Sin’Jin “Afternoon Delight”. It would so turn him on to think of what she meant and all the endless possibilities. Although, knowing these two, they would have good intentions only to end up in a Quickie.
A Little Mini Madness is equal parts funny, romantic and erotic. What made you decide to write a humorous erotic romance?
DeLeetra: I honestly just mixed two things I love. Sex and humor. I know it sounds crazy, but I like to laugh and I enjoy pleasure. My mind wondered to “what if..” that about sums it up.
Describe Tessa's ultimate fantasy of a fuck me shoe.
DeLeetra: I could never do it justice, but I will try. For Quint a fuck me shoe is that one shoe that makes you feel like the sexiest woman on the plant. Doesn’t matter what you are wearing with the shoes. You could be in a plastic trash bag, but those shoes give you the sense of being in a paradise. You feel exotic. It is a pair of shoes that makes you strut (not walk) you are graceful and every sidewalk is your run way. It is a pair of shoes that when you put them on, your posture changes because you have to walk tall with you head up and your chin to the sky. You get that rush of adrenaline and you are free to take on a Hydra. You are every man’s wet dream and every woman’s dream come true. It is a sense of self awareness. You are aware of your body and the way it moves. I know you wanted me to describe a shoe, but it is not the shoe itself it is how you wear it. Although a good example would be the rose shoe by French Designer Mai Lamore.

Was A Little Mini-Madness the beginning of a series for you and do you have any new and upcoming projects for readers to keep an eye out for?
DeLeetra: Yes, A Little Mini-Madness is the first in the TGP series. There will be a total of five (originally there was only supposed to be four), but characters tend to come out of the wood works when you start writing. I am working on a paranormal romance as well, that is coming along very quickly. I am not sure which will come out next. You will have to stay tuned.
The Midnight Grind…
Lock the door, poor some wine and light those candles, it's about to get smexy up in here...
Why was he removing his tie and jacket? He was not staying. He moved forward and Quint moved back, right into the bed. She moved fast and almost fell off her pumps trying to get away from that bed. Quint, could move fast when the need arose. That was not the only thing that had arisen. Move girl, move and talk. It doesn’t matter what you say, just say something.
“Who put this here? It doesn’t belong in this room. Excuse me Galliani, I need to call the movers. They made a mistake, this bed is not mine.” I said stall Quint, not make a fool of yourself. Idiot! You want him, just do it. Where did that come from? Just be strong. All Quint could think was that he had a chest chiseled by Michelangelo and a stomach sculpted by Leonardo himself. Nipple rings and a tattoo? Why, my two favorite things. Nipple rings and tattoos are so damn sexy. The tattoo covered his back as well as his chest. Quint could tell because of the mirror on the dresser that faced her bed. That mirror in my room is a cursed thing. It goes tomorrow. I’m doomed, but who would have thought that straight laced, starched and clean cut Galliani was hiding nipple rings and a tattoo of a dragon with the wings of an angel. The damn thing covered his back and the wings seem to reach over his shoulders and meet as if in prayer, the detail was incredible. He had to have sat for a while and it had to have been painful. There were words in the wings, looks like Latin. Quint used her fingers to trace the artwork that was him. She moved around to his back and ran her fingers down his spine. Quint was intrigued by the masterpiece, she was trying to translate the words that were in Latin, but it wasn’t one of her best languages. The feel of his skin keeps breaking my concentration, so warm it was almost hot, but smooth. I want to feel that warmth all over me. She pressed herself to his back and just inhaled. I can’t get enough of that scent. What is it? I just can’t put my finger on it but it smells right. As Quint rubbed her cheek over the tattoo she could hear his heart beating a mile a minute.
Quint moved around to face him. She wasn’t sure what she was doing, it was like being on the outside looking in. Quint rubbed her cheek against the rings. The rings were cool, but his skin was so hot, a startling contrast that made Quint moan with pleasure. His nipples seemed to strain toward her mouth, begging her to take one between her teeth. Are they pleading with me to give them a lick? Quint pressed her nose and face into the center of his chest.A Little Mini-Madness, Available Now Via Amazon
