Hmmm... I Did Something A Little Naughty...

Hello Lovelies,

I did something a little naughty tonight...No not that naughty :) On a complete and totally procrastination inspired whim, I removed Negotiating Skills from  BnB, Kobo and All Romance! What? o_O! Yeah I know! Since the sales for the book are winding down and I'm already in the midst of several other works in progress I figured it was time to see what the hoopla is all about for Amazon's kdp select.

Yes I know for some it is the devil and for other's it is a godsend. Frankly I'm not really expecting much. I really just want to make sure as many readers get a chance to read it as possible while I works on getting my next few books out and published.

So I'll be offering my baby up for free starting today through Sunday! Yes I know I should probably do some promo of this right?  So I will. Would it had made more sense if I did it in advance? Most definitely, but since I'm really just trying to procrastinate my night away I'm going to do it any way.

*Sigh* Yes I know I'm being belligerent but I've been re-writing the same final chapter for weeks now and I'm in serious need of a mini mental break. The twenty minutes of joy I got from searching out the James Van Der Beek gif for this post was priceless along with the knowledge that for the next 90 days I only have to worry about checking one publishing site :) So spread the word. Negotiating Skills is a free read via the Amazon Kindle market through to Sunday! Wish me luck smex monsters!

Talk to you soon,
Laurel

Those Smexy Heart Breakers! #HeartHop #Giveaway

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml... html, body, div, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, ul, ol, dl, li, dt, dd, p, pre, table, th, td, tr { margin: 0; padding: 0em; } p { text-indent: 0em; margin-bottom: 0.2em; font-family: "Georgia"; font-size: 18px } p.centered { text-indent: 0em; text-align: center; } span.centered { text-indent: 0em; text-align: center; }

Hello Lovelies,

As you can tell by the super smexy picture to the left, I have an extra special treat for you all. I was lucky enough to join the Heart Breaker Blog Hop and the topic du jour is...Heartbreakers of course!

I'll be giving away an EPUB or MOBI copy of Negotiating Skills to one lucky commenter. What do you have to do for a chance to win? I want to know what your definition of a heart breaker is. Are they worth it ? So go ahead and comment away:)

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of tension when it comes to writing and reading romance, so when the question of what makes a heart breaker was presented I couldn't help but smile. Heart breakers are those men or women who make your skin tighten, your pulse race, your heart sigh and your soul pant. In other words they're the ones that keep you tense and achy for them.

Whether it's the shy guy next door, the brainy IT tech, the commanding boss, the mysterious detective, or the sultry musician, the simple truth is that the person you can make all of your senses pause in rapt attention is a HEART BREAKER! You never know what may float your boat, but when you find it be sure to go for it and hold on tight.

In Negotiating Skills it takes awhile for Veronica to realize that the bossy Victor Rossi is her perfect match, but hell if they both didn't have fun while she figured it out ;)

Negotiating Skills...

Blurb: Witnessing a private act leads to some interesting negotiations...Software programmer Veronica James is struggling to make her new business a success. After finally landing a major account, she's at risk of losing it all when she catches her new client Victor Rossi in a very compromising position. In an effort to regain the upper hand, Rossi insists on some sexy and compromising concessions from her that have Veronica reconsidering her hard fast rule of not mixing business with pleasure.

Hello Lovelies,

Welcome to back to another Foreplay Monday! These posts are dedicated to highlighting upcoming book releases and book events for authors. It's also a great way to prepare you for the Casual Smex Friday posts ;). So please join me in welcoming author Yvette Hines.

Yvette was nice enough to stop by and share some smexy facts about her upcoming book Wedded in Passion. The book is part of the popular Stir Sticks & Stilettos series, and I'm sure I'm not the only one excited for this sneak peak! So without further ado...

Please welcome Yvette Hines...

Hi Yvette, tell us a little bit about yourself...

I'm simply Yvette Hines. I'm an erotica author that loves pleasurable hours between the sheets. Whether it is a blended tale of interracial lovers, the clandestine bite and wicked passion of a paranormal mates or the sting of a commanding whip against tender flesh. However, life is too busy and most of us have more than one job, family and other activities that don't allow us long hours to read any more. I've been penning erotic tales since 2006, on the hedonistic side of the romance genre. I'm eclectic by nature. I'm married to my best friend. A guy that makes me laugh 'til I can't breathe and one who steals my breath every time he walks into a room. I believe in happily ever after like the rising of the sun depended on it.

Wedded in Passion...

Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance

Blurb:

When Katy Heely had dreams of her perfect wedding, it never featured a cheating fiancè. However, that was precisely what she got. The night before her wedding she discovers her groom is not the man she had fooled herself into believing. When the bottom drops out of what should be the best day of her life, she's angry, ashamed and clueless in how to right the situation.

In walks Char Randle, her best friend, and the guy who has always been there for her; until she allowed her jealous ex-fiancè to push him out of her life. She discovers that Char's appearance at the hotel is not by chance and just like always she finds herself leaning on him. Support of a long time friend becomes a night filled with ecstasy as she's never experienced. Now, she has to make some choices.

It doesn't take her long to discover that a wedding filled with passion is the only 'I do' ceremony she desires.

Release Date: February 4th 2013

Publisher: Romance Management, Inc.

Availability & Format: eBook only

Tell us a little bit about Wedded in Passion. What was your inspiration?

Yvette: I was recently watching a romantic comedy where the heroine had two guys fighting over her. She chose the "hot guy", now the sweet sincere guy, also good looking, it felt so "clichè" I was like, if I was in the movie I would have went for the guy with integrity. Well, I love weddings and geeks that become hunks kind of stories. Not to mention the best friends to lovers stories. So, I took all those loves of mine and rolled them up into what I hope was a fantastic erotic short.

Can you give us a little taste of how your hero or heroine would go about foreplay?

Yvette: From the hero: An intimate moment should always start with a kiss, one that is soft, gentle then builds to something so passionate neither of you can breathe or think straight. However, the kiss alone doesn't do it. A woman should be caressed as well, her face, her back, her hands…just touch her. If these two simple things are done correctly than the woman will be ready for the next level just as much as you are. If not, hope you brought a jacket.

If your heroine could describe the one thing they find the sexiest about their hero what would it be?

Yvette: Vice versa. My heroine would say she finds the hero's loyalty and acceptance of who she really is sexy. The hero would say he finds the heroine's laugh very sexy, the freedom in it, also her courage to step outside the normal "box" of what she is accustom to doing.

What was your favorite scene or situation to write?

Yvette: Uh, the sex scene. Well, honestly in my Stir Sticks & Stilettos series everything is leading directly to the sex. However, that is what always comes to me first for a story. Even the longer ones. Then I ask myself, who are these two people and how did they get into bed?

This sounds like the perfect smexy story to get lost in. Come on lovelies, I know you're practically panting for more. Lucky for you Ms. Hines was nice enough to leave us with a hot excerpt.....

I knew he was going to kiss me. The racing of my heart and the pull I felt toward him since he stood before me when the elevator door parted assured me of that.

Lifting up some, I met his lips. Those sexy lips I had been admiring.

The kiss began light; just a simple brush of our mouths. I felt him exhale from his nose. His breath tickled my cheek and caused heat to stir low in my stomach.

Still holding my chin, he urged my lips to part with the slightest pressure. I opened to him, allowing him access. I wasn't prepared for the impact when the kiss deepened. An electric current coursed through my body, from my lips to my feet and ignited in every area in between.

As I joined him in the kiss, sliding my tongue into his mouth, tasting him, my hands gripped his sides. I could feel the firm muscles beneath the material of his shirt. I hadn't seen Char without a shirt since we were teenagers. I wanted to know how he had changed from the gangly teen into the man kissing me passionate now.

The hand behind my back held me against him; pressing us together. My breasts we crushed to his chest, the closeness caused my nipples to tighten in response. I arched my spine, rubbing the tight buds on him–needing more contact.

Char groaned.

The kiss ended abruptly. He pulled away, leaving a large gap between us as he dropped his hands. I could see the rapid rise and fall of his chest, he was breathing just as hard as I was.

WEDDED IN PASSION, Coming February 4th 2013

Ahem. Wipe the sweat from your brows people, and take a deep breath. This is definitely not a "sweet" wedding night. If the suite is rocking don't come knocking! Well I don't know about you but I'm officially primed and ready for this book release. If you want to learn more about Yvette and Wedded in Passion head on over to her website and check out some more excerpts from her other books and short stories.

Yvette, thank you so mch for stopping by today. Is there anythng else you'd like to tell readers & followers?

I read EVERY SINGLE review readers write on ARe, B&N, Amazon, Good Reads...napkins at restaurants. Okay, totally joking on the napkin bit, but I value the good and the bad of readers thoughts about my stories. Why? Because I want to grow as a writer. Now, I wish I could say all reviews were helpful, but I'd be living inside of a rainbowed cloud. However the constructive ones, or the ones where readers tell me what they enjoyed most...I keep trying to add that to each story.

Persuasion Skills #amwriting

Hello Lovelies,

It's been a while since I dropped you all a note on my works in progress, so I just wanted to give you all a quick update. Here goes...

1.) I'm finishing up the final touches to Persuasion Skills (formally titled High Stakes). This book is next in the Boardroom Acts series that began with Negotiating Skills . Persuasion Skills is a stand alone contemporary erotic/sensual romance using one of y favorite tropes&emdash;friends-to-lovers. For those of you who enjoyed the tension and banter between Veronica and Victor in Negotiating Skills, you're sure to love the romance between Pepper and Jaxon. She's a savvy and successful business woman and he's a mischief making computer engineer. Trap these two together in a romantic cabin and smexy hilarity smoking hot encounters ensues.

I'm still debating on whether I'm going to self pub this book as well, or submit it to a publisher. I keep teetering back and forth on it but, you'll know one way or the other :).

2.) Frosted Bites is a trio of paranormal contemporary short stories that will definitely be released April 15th via Amazon, BnB and All romance. These short stories just kind of happened out of the blue. I was sitting in yet another round of Miami traffic one day when the idea came to me. Each story focuses on one of three siblings in the Graves family. I had a lot of fun with these characters and I hope you will too!

3.) WIP#3:Title Unknown-I still haven't settled on the title for my third work in progress. However, this one for sure will be an industry submission. It is another paranormal contemporary that I plan on making a series. The heroine is a little quirky and was a little inspired by Samantha from Bewitched, Martha Stewart and Tank Girl. Yes you read that right :) I don't really have a timeline for this one yet, but I'm definitely hoping to have it ready for submission by August of this year. I know that seems like a long way out, but the storyline requires a lot of research and fact checking so yeah...

So for now that's it! I do have several other WIPs that are still in the outline stages and I'll let you know more once I decide to add them to my queue. 2013 is going to be a busy year!

Talk to you soon,
Laurel

Casual Smex Friday with Lily Harlem!

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml... html, body, div, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, ul, ol, dl, li, dt, dd, p, pre, table, th, td, tr { margin: 0; padding: 0em; } p { text-indent: 0em; margin-bottom: 0.2em; font-family: "Georgia"; font-size: 18px } p.chapter { text-indent: 1.5em; font-weight: bold; font-size: 2em; page-break-before: always; margin-top:5em; margin-bottom:2em; } p.centered { text-indent: 0em; text-align: center; } span.centered { text-indent: 0em; text-align: center; } p.response { text-indent: 1.5em; text-align: justify; } p.questions { text-indent: 0em; text-align: justify; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; color: #FF70B8; } p.excerpt { text-indent: 1.5em; text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.2em; } p.segment { text-indent: 0em; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; font-size: 125%; color: #FF8C00; } p.tag { text-indent: 1.5em; text-align: justify; font-weight: bold; color: #FF70B8; }

Hello All,

Welcome back to Casal Smex Friday! It's been a long week smex kittens and I don't know about you but TGISmex :) For those of you unfamiliar with the Casual Smex Friday posts, here's a quick breakdown. On Casual Smex Friday you’re encouraged to sit back, relax and get smexy. Remember that Smex day posts consist of the following four segments:

1.) The Quickie- For those of you who only have time for some quick relief.

2.) The Afternoon Delight- For the reader who wants a little foreplay before smexing.

3.) The Midnight Grind-For those of you who want to go beyond foreplay and get to main show.

4.) The After Glow Strut- For those of you not afraid to show your love and go for another round.

Today I’m bringing you an interview with the deliciously naughty Lily Harlem. So close the drapes, assume the position (reading position of course) and let’s get the smexing started!

The Quickie…

Name: Lily Harlem

Stats: Lily Harlem is an award-winning author of contemporary erotic romance and erotica and lives in the UK with Mr Harlem and a host of rescued pets. She loves to spend her days dreaming up naughty stories and penning them whilst looking out her attic window at rolling green hills. When you read her books be warned though, the bedroom door is always left wide open and every tiny detail laid bare!

Her latest release, Dangerous to Know, is a short erotic story out at Ellora’s Cave. Dangerous to Know is dark and dirty and follows New Yorker Karen as she explores a dangerous whore fantasy with a man she really should have stayed well away from.

Latest Release: Dangerous to Know

Genre: Erotica/Contemporary Erotic Short

Dangerous to Know: For too many years I’ve hidden a sinful, erotic craving in the darkest corner of my soul. Within this deeply buried sliver, shameful fantasies rule and images—seedy, degrading, filthy images—burn through the dark of the night and hold my dreams hostage.

Luckily, the center of my whore obsession is keen to play my slutty game. I know nothing about him, other than his taste, touch and smell, but that’s how I want it, because the one thing I’m certain of is this man is dangerous to know. But despite the risks, in the very heart of New York, in open view, I’ll tempt him with my wares, show him my skills and prove I’m up for the job.

Availability: Ellora's Cave

Smex Quotient: This one should definitely come with a burn notice! Put the vicar on speed dial cause you're going to be in desperate need of confession. Smudged lipstick and torn pantyhose nevr sounded soooo good! Bless me Father for I have sinned and can't wait to do it again...

The Afternoon Delight…

You have a knack for taking naughty fantasies and bring them to life on a page, what was your inspiration for Dangerous to Know? What's driving your heroine's, Karen, fantasy?

Thanks, I'm thrilled that you think I have the knack for bringing naughty fantasies to life on the page, I certainly try to. When I wrote Dangerous to Know last year I was going through a dark, edgy phase in my writing. I'd just penned Anything for Him with my co-author Natalie Dae and that had turned into a very gritty tale of obsession and desire, also slutty fantasies of being used as an object had been a theme throughout the book. (It was eventually published by Harper Collins). I guess when I decided to write Karen's story I was still in that edgy mood. A picture inspired me of a woman giving a man a blowjob in a dirty backstreet alley. I got to wondering what their story was and decided that she was being paid to service him, not because she needed the money, but because she wanted to experience using sex as a transaction, a business deal. Satisfy a client and be paid for doing so. You see Karen is a sweet, wholesome, hard working woman, she's independent, has a responsible job and to all intents and purposes a perfect all-American girl. BUT, she also can't get this idea of her body being a commodity out of her mind, it steals her dreams, invades her thoughts, and so, she believes, the only way forward is to find a man who will be stand in as her client and allow these fantasies to become reality... trouble is, dreams like this, and men like Jovica, are dangerous to know!

This book is so not your classic romance, What would you label it as and what was it like to write outside of your normal comfort zone?

No, Dangerous to Know is not a romantic book by any stretch of the imagination, in fact Ellora's Cave, the publisher, have put it in the Exotika line, which means it's all about the sex and the journey/experience of that sex. No wedding bells, red roses or cuddling up on the sofa for my couple! It's erotica, plain and simple. What was it like writing out of my comfort zone? Mmm, it was new but because of Anything for Him, not the first time I'd tried it. I enjoyed it though, very much, I adore my romantic erotica - which is the sub-genre the majority of my novels fall into - but it was a refreshing change to be all about the filth, especially in a short, snappy story that goes straight for the main event, no messing around!! I'm eagerly waiting to see what erotica readers make of this book.

What part of this story was your favorite scene to write?

The end actually, but of course I can't tell you that here, it would be a complete spoiler, but I like to think it shows just how risky her behaviour is, and how both bad and good her 'client' is. I've also given the story a '...ever after' so readers can imagine what the future holds.

If this couple participated in Casual Smex Friday, what segment do you think they's like the most? The Quickie, Afternoon Delight or Midnight Grind?

Definitely the Midnight Grind! That's the deal!

Do you have any project's you'd like to tell the readers about?

Oh, can I? I have a really, really busy and exciting few days ahead, because not only is Dangerous to Know out on the 1st of Feb, Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs and myself is out on the 4th! 'What?' I hear you ask, 'Are you talking about Lily?' Well, some of you may have caught publisher Total-E-Bound on the International News last year when they launched Clandestine Classics they caused quite a stir by asking some of their authors to add steamy, saucy scenes to old Classics such as Pride and Prejudice, A Christmas Carol, Wuthering Heights (to name a few). I was one of these authors and was lucky enough to get my hands on Tarzan of the Apes (all of these books had to be out of copyright) and spent a few months in the jungle with Tarzan and Jane penning in all the scenes readers previously had to imagine, and I can tell you now, Jane is one seriously lucky lady, Tarzan is hot, hot, hot!! You can find out much more about Tarzan of the Apes, listen to his famous yell, enjoy pictures and find buy links, on my Tarzan website page

The Midnight Grind…

The line between naughty and dark is oh so tempting to cross sometimes. How far will you go for a smexy thrill? Ms. Harlem takes us there with a steamy, pulse raising excerpt for your reading pleasure...

Oh, the way he said the word whore was delicious; his wide mouth seemed to pull out the “r” at the end as if savoring it, playing with it.

“Do you want me to be?” I asked brazenly.

He shrugged. “Keeps it simple, I suppose.”

I twitched the side of my mouth into a half-smile even though I wanted to beam. It seemed I’d just found a man to fulfill my forbidden desires and make all my bad dreams come true. “Then yes, I’ll be your whore.”

“Just mine?” He pulled on his cigarette, but this time when he blew out, the smoke shot from his mouth in a thin stream.

“Yes.”

I rubbed my hand over my chest, tweaking my hard nipple. His gaze followed my movement then slid over my right shoulder. I heard footsteps.

Someone was coming.

He glanced back at me, as if daring me to stay in my exposed position. Always one to rise to a challenge, I kept my legs spread. Willed my knees to stay apart and my pussy bared. I was desperate to clamp my thighs together—as a rule, I was not an exhibitionist and had no desire to flash my cunt to any old Tom, Dick or Harry. But I could and would do this—it was a means to an end.

In my peripheral vision a woman appeared. She wore a cerise cardigan and walked a ginger boxer dog. She didn’t pause as she stepped past us, nor did she look back and notice my bare pussy. Well, why would she? It was broad daylight, this was a park, why would my intimate female flesh be on public display?

He raised his eyebrows and I had a sudden rush of accomplishment. I’d surprised him—clearly he’d thought I’d tuck myself from view. Good, I liked to be a surprise. Being predictable was not in my nature, well, not in my whore-self’s nature anyway.

He placed his newspaper on the bench between us and took a last drag of his cigarette before stubbing it under his black boot. “I’m not really one for fucking whore’s pussies, even pretty ones, but…”

“But.”

“I’ll pay you to suck my cock.”

Inside I welled with triumph. The idea of sex as an arrangement, a transaction, was what thrilled me the most. No emotions, no strings. A customer, money and a murky act. That was what appealed to me. Forget candlelit seduction and emotional intimacy, I wanted sleaze, I wanted filth, I wanted to be used as a sexual object by a rough bloke who took what he wanted on a very basic level.

“Okay. Where?” I asked.

He glanced left and right, his gaze searching, then nodded straight ahead. “Down there.”

I looked in the direction he’d indicated. Through the trees and railings, I could just make out a gap in the buildings. “It’ll cost you twenty.”

He shrugged. “Whatever.”

Finally closing my legs, I stood. My knees felt weak and my stomach clenched. This was something I’d been dreaming of, plotting for so long. Never had I thought I’d find the courage to actually go through with my foolhardy plan. The man was a stranger. He could be a complete psychopath and murder me the minute we were out of view. Stuff like that happened to whores all the time. I’d seen it on the news, read about it in papers.

It was a risk I was willing to take.

Stepping ahead, I turned to make sure he was following. He was. Sauntering in that menacingly purposeful stride of his that I’d become totally fascinated by. I also realized now that I was on ground level how tall he was, a whole head above me, and wide too. If he did set his mind to subjecting me to a gruesome back-alley death there was nothing I would be able to do about it. He could squash me as if I were an ant, choke me without breaking sweat.

Tugging at my cheap, tarty skirt, I headed for the location of my first whore experience. As we reached the entrance, he pressed a hand into the small of my back and urged me into the murky world of New York’s dark, dingy alleys.

DANGEROUS TO KNOW, Available Now Via Ellora's Cave

Like most great superheroes (or super-villains, depending on who’s telling the story) I live a double life. By day I'm a mild-mannered crusader for justice (or nefarious deeds, depending on who’s telling the story) and by night an indestructible creator of prose (or pathological liar, depending on who’s telling the story) while munching on my favorite cookies—oatmeal raisin. A native West Coaster who hails from the sunny state of California I have loved the romance genre ever since I convinced my dad it was required reading when I was eleven. I believe love shouldn’t have a color code and strive to create stories that represent that belief.

Confessions of a Naughty Night Nurse...

Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance

Legnth: 56,000 words/224 pages

Blurb: When scalpels are set down, the ward lights turned off and the patients asleep, there is always time for Mischief…

I guess you could call me a jack-of-all-trades nurse. I find work satisfaction in whichever department the hospital needs me most, as long as it’s through the darkest hours. Needless to say I’ve seen it all over the years, been there and done that, what’s left to shock me isn’t worth knowing. But it’s so often the quieter nighttime where the real high jinx abound.

Yes, the nocturnal life is the one for me. With a weakness for sexy guys wearing white coats and dangling stethoscopes, my fantasies are often realised and I’m adept at finding relief from the hospital grind in shadowy corners and cozy linen cupboards.

Of course my dedication to patient comfort is paramount. What kind of nurse would I be if it wasn’t? But when one act of extreme, albeit highly inappropriate, kindness forced me to become the hospital director’s snitch, the length I went to in order to keep my job satisfied my desires and found me the love that had always evaded me. A love that made me push even my not-so-professional boundaries to the extreme.

Release Date: January 24th 2013

Publisher: Mischief at Harper Collins

Availability & Format: eBook only ( Amazon US, Amazon UK, EPUB )

Come on lovelies, don't be shy. I bet your pulses are racing and I know you're just as eager as I am to learn some more about this naughty nurse and her deliciously smexy exploits. Don't you worry, Ms. Harlem was nice enough to leave us with an excerpt...

‘Oh my God,’ I whispered when the door shut, enveloping us in darkness. ‘How the bloody Nora did you know they were in there, doing that?’

There was a small click and a bare bulb overhead gave out a pale light. We were surrounded by brown cardboard boxes full of bags of intravenous fluid.

Carl released the light pull and it bounced towards the wall. He shoved his hand through his hair and puffed out his flushed cheeks. ‘I had to come down here last week, in the middle of the night, to get some Gelo for Eyre Ward. I was on my own, didn’t bother to turn any lights on, and went out of the wrong door, ended up in theatres.’

‘It wasn’t locked?’

‘No, I suppose someone forgot, keeps forgetting. Anyway, you can imagine my surprise when I heard a bang and a grunt from theatre three, went to investigate and saw old Hartley with his junk out and about to diddle his scrub nurse.’

‘Jesus.’ I let out a low whistle of disbelief. ‘You’d think they’d go somewhere private and play, wouldn’t you?’

He shrugged and ran his finger around the collar of his shirt. ‘I’m guessing it gives them a kick, doing it in there.’

‘You think so?’

‘Yes, absolutely, catching each other’s eye the next day over a patient. A theatre full of staff and only them knowing they were fucking like a couple of horny teenagers on that very table the night before.’

I shook my head. ‘Yeah, I guess you’re right. Must be quite a turn-on pretending there’s nothing between them and waiting for the place to clear out.’

Carl looked cute as a button. His slightly unkempt, unshaven style, with his tired, bespectacled eyes and his easy smile had definite appeal.

‘You’d think they’d worry, though,’ I said, stepping up close and touching the askew name badge on his white coat.

‘About what?’

‘That someone might see them at it.’

‘At it?’ There was a definite sparkle in his work-weary eyes.

‘Yeah, at it, screwing. They should have picked a nice, dark cupboard.’ I slipped my hands over his shoulders, drew my mouth close to his. ‘One with no windows, no prying eyes or nosy colleagues.’

‘Like this one?’

‘Yeah, just like this one,’ I whispered.

‘Mmm.’

I pressed my lips to his and was pleasantly surprised by the soft willingness of his mouth and his small intake of breath.

He held my face, his big hands gentle on my cheeks and his fingers just slotting into my hair, over my ears.

The kiss deepened, our tongues tangled and I leaned my chest to his. He slanted his head and explored my mouth with a sense of passion and reverence. He tasted fresh, of water and mint. That lovely lemony scent of his that made me think of Mediterranean holidays swirled around me. A whimper of approval rumbled up from my chest and I ached for some action. I reckoned Carl was the perfect man for the job. If just his kiss had me throbbing, imagine how I’d feel when I actually got him inside me, pumping and grinding.

I slid my hands down his chest, over his pale blue shirt to the buckle of his trousers.

‘Sharon,’ he murmured through our kiss.

‘Carl?’ I whispered, exploring lower, over his groin. I found what I was hunting for — a lovely, long hardness straining against his zipper.

‘Please,’ he said, releasing my cheeks.

‘Please what?’ I squeezed him again then gave a firm stroke, base to tip. Wonderful, he was swollen and full and I could even make out the flare of his glans through the material. How fast could we get naked?

He groaned and reached for my wrists, held them tight as I worked his erection through the material.

‘Bloody hell,’ he gasped, his hips rocking towards me and then away.

‘You want me to suck you?’ I asked, speaking against his lips.

‘Fuck. No.’

I hesitated. It wasn’t often a guy refused a blowjob. ‘You just want to shag then?’

‘No, yes, I mean…’

‘What do you mean?’ I kissed over his cheek, found his ear and touched my tongue to the fleshy lobe. Cupped his balls with one hand and at the same time hunted for the zipper of his trousers and began to pull it down.

‘I mean I don’t, I don’t want to…’ He yanked my hands upwards, so they were captured between our faces. ‘I don’t want to do anything.’ His voice was harsh, firm.

I jolted, surprised by his sudden movement and shocked by his statement.

He was staring at me intently, his eyes wild and his lips wet from our kiss.

‘Oh,’ I said, shock and confusion muddling in my mind. Didn’t he fancy me? Was he gay? No, I didn’t think either was the case. The hardness in his pants told an entirely different story. ‘But I thought…you’ve got a…’

He swallowed, the sound noisy in the small room, and then blinked, long and slow, and sucked in a deep breath.

‘But you’ve got a—’ I said.

‘Tell me about it.’ His mouth twisted, as though he was in pain, and he gazed intently at me.

‘And you don’t want to do something about it?’ I licked my lips and smiled my sweetest smile. ‘I’m happy to oblige. We’ve been putting this off for months now. You and me, naked, it’s inevitable.’

‘I know.’

‘And?’

‘And yes, I would like to do something about it, with you. Soon.’

That was more like it. I tried to step in close again but he kept me at a distance with outstretched hands. Like I was some kind of sex monster about to rape him.

‘Carl?’ Now he was hurting my feelings.

‘I’m sorry, it’s just…’

I tugged at my wrists and he released them. My body was humming. I was hot for it but it seemed I wasn’t going to be getting any. ‘What. It’s just what?’ I snapped.

‘I like you,’ he said, reaching out and touching my cheek. ‘I mean I really like you.’

‘So what’s the problem?’ I couldn’t help my pout.

He shook his head and looked down at his feet.

‘Tell me, damn it. You drag me here to watch a damn sex show that gets me all horny for it, and then bring me in a dark cupboard, kiss me —’

Hello All,

Welcome to the first Casal Smex Friday of the new year! I know it's been a while and you're all hurting for some yummy smex but for the newbies on the block here's a quick breakdown.

Today I’m bringing you an interview with the sweetly smexy Keshia Robertson. So close the drapes (or not, depending on what you’re into) and let’s get the smexing started!

The Quickie…

Name: Keshia Robertson

Stats: With homage to our favourite romantic comedies of the 90s, Keshia Robertson writes fresh sensual to erotic contemporary romance with a multicultural twist. When she isn't crafting stories of sexy heroes and witty heroines you can find her on twitter @startswithakesh or on her website discussing her preferred writing techniques or the latest episode of a Korean drama.

Latest Release: Just As Good

Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance

Just As Good Blurb: Evan Hermes traded in romance for pragmatism when he suggested marriage at their New Year's Eve party to his girlfriend Kitt Preston. It was a “suggestion” which wasn’t well received by the love of his life. Though it’s taken him most of the year to figure out the perfect proposal, this time romance is front and center to obtain a yes!

Kitt has been in love with Evan ever since he asked her out during their first year of college. Tall, handsome, and a family man, Evan is the kind of person that most women would be falling over themselves to marry…but not her. Kitt is only willing to say yes to a marriage proposal that is worthy of their love and years together.

Availability: Amazon | Sugar & Spice Press

Smex Quotient: This one is definitely sugar and spice and everything nice! You'll be tempted to turn your casual booty call into a long all night romp of smexy naughtiness!

The Afternoon Delight…

Kitt and Evan are so cute together! The book begins with them several years into their relationship. What made you decide to begin "Just As Good" at that point in their relationship?

I was always really interested in what happens after the “happily ever” part of romance books but until that point, I only wrote about two people who just met. For “Just As Good” I wanted characters who were in a scenario that a couple could relate to. Especially over the holidays with too much of reality working into their couple-dom but of course romance fighting back for a win.

I loved the relaxed banter Kitt and Evan have with each other and that you set their story in the midst of family gatherings. Being surrounded by family isn't usually romantic, but you somehow made it work and work quite well might I add. Why did you decide to set it up this way?

After knowing each other for so long (since college) I pictured Evan and Kitt to be the kind of couple who reacted the same to each other anywhere and would be able to get the sparks flying even with the family inside the cottage as well *laughs* so they are kind of a frisky couple. Plus Evan's family jumped off the page with their attempts to engagement plan so I wanted them along for the ride as well.

Kitt delivers a great line in the book, "You must really like my messy," after Evan reveals that he loves her in all of her complexity. *SIGH* This couple is just all sorts of sigh worthy sweet and sexy. How do you go about reaching that balance when you write romance?

I mostly go with my gut when it comes to that sweet-sexy balance in drafting up a story and try to create those moments as much as I can while still being authentic to the couple and where they are in their relationship.

If this couple participated in Casual Smex Friday, what segment do you think they's like the most? The Quickie, Afternoon Delight or Midnight Grind?

I would have to say Midnight Grind for this frisky couple. They would definitely would enjoy the sexy excerpt foreplay.

The men in Evan's family sound both sexy and hilarious. Do they/will they have stories of their own? If so please list them so I can crush accordingly!

I loved the Hermes men as well and they basically came to life of their own accord with the sibling banter. I don’t have stories planned out for them in concrete yet but I’m definitely not saying goodbye to them.

The Midnight Grind…

There's nothing sexier than two people who've known each other long enough to make the smexing and loving last. So pull down those shades and put on some slow jams. This sweet and spicey couple will have you begging for more so get ready because here's a smexy excerpt for your reading pleasure...

4 days before Christmas

A second chance for Evan to propose felt about as miraculous as Santa Claus standing in the middle of his living room with an inheritance grand enough for him, Kitt, and their future children’s children to each share comfortably.

As a grown man, it was kind of silly to believe in things such as the miracle of the holidays, but even after discovering Santa’s nonexistence at the age of eight just as his mother lost her battle to cancer, he still saved some hope for Santa during the holidays.

Kitt had left the house that week to spend it helping her mother and stepfather get ready for their trip to Barbados. Evan shivered before pressing the doorbell to Kitt’s parent’s house. She had been the friend he lusted over for a greater part of first year until he confessed to her and they became a couple. He would forgive Santa for allowing people to say that he was someone who didn’t exist if the old man had his back for just this one holiday. He wanted to make it a Christmas that Kitt wouldn’t be able to forget.

Kitt opened the door with a large pink suitcase rolling behind her.

“Are you immigrating to my parent’s cottage?” he asked.

Evan smiled at her as Kitt stuck her tongue out at him. He knew her to be a person who traveled only after packing half of her closet even if it was just for a day.

“I always win your parents and brothers over with my runway model wardrobe,” Kitt teased. “And you know I have a lot of hair products.”

“I would figure,” he said.

Her thick, curly hair formed small spirals around her shoulders. It had been their first source of conversation after Kitt asked to stand under his umbrella on the first day of university classes. He had looked down at the shorter girl beside him seeing only curls, large glasses, and flawless brown skin before he decided that he had fallen for her.

He reached for her suitcase. “I’ll take that.”

“Ah…holding doors and carrying all of the heavy things…” she said. “Good boyfriend.”

She turned to lock her front door and then walked to his car. The word “boyfriend” was appearing in a grateful afterthought in her sentences. If he had done more than suggest marriage, he would be called “future husband” sweetly instead.
