The Origins of The Rebound Surprise

It’s so strange for me to be back on my blog! And nerve-wracking. I took such a long break from publishing, that I’ve been afraid to dip my toes back into this pond. But the break was much needed. It was time I needed to assess my goals and do the things necessary to achieve them. As I mentioned in a previous post, those things included working on my craft and working towards the path of traditional publishing. I’ve accomplished some of the goals on my vision board and am focused on continuing this journey and hope to accomplish more. All that being said, today, I want to talk about my upcoming release The Rebound Surprise. This book has an origin story born from a lazy weekend indulging in a coach potato marathon weekend that involved watching some of my favorite movies and re-reading some of my favorite books. When… Continue reading

Hello Again and Some BIG NEWS

It’s been forever since I’ve posted here on my website, but if you follow me on social media, you know that I haven’t fallen off of the face of the earth. From a writing perspective, I’ve taken a significant amount of time away from indie publishing as I journeyed into the traditional publishing sphere. Over the course of the last few years, I focused on the craft of writing and learning more about the traditional publishing path. That included being honest about the areas of my writing that needed improvement as well as gaining confidence in my voice. Trust me when I say the confidence part was the hardest part and something I still (and will probably always) struggle with. But you never change positions if you don’t attempt to take even the smallest of steps. The last few years have consisted of a lot of steps. Sometimes tiny sometimes … Continue reading

Sherlock Meets #Steampunk with Shannon Wendtland’s Heliodor!

As a avid reader I tend to read many genres of fiction. Although romance is my go to genre, steampunk fiction is one of my favorite indulgences  That being said I’m super excited to check out the latest steampunk offering from Mocha Memoirs Press, HELIODOR by Shannon Wendtland. HELIODOR by Shannon Wendtland Malfric sees through the eyes of the dead – literally reliving their last moments as if they were his own. This ability is highly sought and highly priced, which is why the unscrupulous Captain Finch hires him to find the murderer of a nobleman and the whereabouts of a valuable artifact. Quantex, the able-bodied first mate of Captain Finch, quickly becomes Malfric’s foil as he demonstrates uncommon intelligence during the investigation. Together the two uncover several clues that lead them to the killer, the artifact, and the frayed end of a mysterious plot that begins to unravel the … Continue reading

#MistletoeHop! : What’s on your Winter Reading List?

Hello All, Welcome to the Mistletoe Hop! This blog hop is hosted by the lovely Paloma Beck of Romance Beckons. I couldn’t resist joining this hop, because the winter season is when I get most of my reading in. Something about the short amount of daylight and cool weather, always makes me want to snuggle up with a good book. This year I have a lot of books waiting in my TBR pile that I can’t wait to get to. I have some favorite tropes and sub-genres, but during this season, I find myself drawn to a lot of contemporary and fantasy reads. There is something comforting about a girl next door finding love with the bad boy prince; or unassuming heroine stumbling into a world of magic and intrigue. Are there specific tropes you like reading this time of year? Do you like holiday stories? I tend to find … Continue reading

#NewRelease: Winter’s Guard

Good Morning All, The last few weeks have been so amazing and exhausting all at once. I’ve released several stories, baked up a storm, updated my website, and managed to complete the first drafts on two new books! Like I said…exhausting. But it has all been worth it. After months of fatigue and a reluctant muse, I’m finding my stride again. All of that being said, today I’m excited to announce that MISTLETOE DREAMS is officially available for purchase and your reading pleasure. Mistletoe Dreams is a holiday anthology published via Mocha Memoirs Press. My story, Winter’s Guard, is featured in the anthology and is an erotic contemporary romance. For those of you looking for a sexy read with a bold heroine, and naughty talking hero, you’ll enjoy this story. I had fun indulging in some angst while writing this story. The idea of a second chance romance appealed to me and was … Continue reading

It is about second chances and overcoming tragic events in life. And of course I couldn’t resist including a bold heroine and a dirty talking hero ;). I hope you all find the time to add Mistletoe Dreams to your holiday reading list! You can pre-order the anthology here. As usual I love to hear/see your feedback, so don’t be shy about emailing me. Color of Love Blog Hop 2015 #giveaways #prizes

Welcome to the 2015 Color of Love Blog Hop! this is my third year participating in this event and I look forward to it every time. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate all the flavors of love represented in fiction. As an author who writes a lot of interracial romances, I appreciate the chance to not only showcase my work but promote other authors who do the same. Please stick around and join in of the fun for the next few days and explore new authors and genres. For those of you new to me and my writing, I write both contemporary and paranormal romance. And yes they tend to be pretty steamy. My latest series features a cast of diverse characters, all within the paranormal/fantasy world of the Underworld. The world is very heavily influenced by Greek, Egyptian and Norse mythology and was a lot of fun to write. … Continue reading
