Rescue…

As almost by accident, Tabbruis picked up a shadow signature as he ran through the gate into the parking lot. A high-pitched scream pierced his ear, and he grimaced at the pain the human would have if he did not hurry. Almost as in slow motion, he saw the Elder, a fellow Blood-Hunter, standing over a woman. The woman had been knocked out and was lying face down on the ground.
The Blood-Hunter had a sinister grin on his face as he turned around to face Tabbruis. “I am taking her to the Elder Council. They are going to pay me a lot of money for a prize like her.”
Bending down over her, he growled, “But first, I want to taste the sweet nectar running through her veins. Then maybe take a turn with her too…if you know what I mean?” He winked at Tabbruis with an evil, perverted look on his face, as he ran his hand up and down her backside.
“Help me bind up her hands buddy?” He then took out of his jacket a length of rope.
Tabbruis’ stomach turned knowing the unspeakable, abominable acts this degenerate wanted to do to the woman. He thought, ‘But why? Why would he want to take a human to the Elder Council?’
With a thump on his heart, he steeled his courage. Even though this man was an Elder, a Blood-Hunter, a kin to his race, Tabbruis could not allow it.

In a blink of an eye, with no thought of the consequences, he grabbed the Blood-Hunter and pushed him into a car and yelled, “Leave now! Go from this place! She is to be unharmed by you or anyone else!”
The Blood-Hunter could see Tabbruis’ deadly stare, but he began to laugh and offered, “Hey, listen if you want, I will share her with you.”
Tabbruis had heard enough foulness. His fangs extended, his eyes became black and wide. “It is forbidden to hunt at public places like this! The Elder Council will have you brought up on charges of exposure to the humans!”
With a menacing look, the Blood-Hunter asked, “Do you have no idea how nice a piece of ass like this is? The Elder Council will be happy I caught her. But listen, if you want to share her for the night before I take her to Athens? We will party.”
Light-Bearer 6 - 1

Enraged, Tabbruis threw a punch at the Blood-Hunter and knocked him across two car lengths.
With superhuman speed he turned and bashed Tabbruis into another car denting the door.
Growling, he grabbed the Blood-Hunter’s arm spun him around and pinned his fist behind his back. The man bent down and kicked Tabbruis throwing him up into the air, and he landed on his back.
Tabbruis had underestimated the Blood-Hunter’s skills and was not going to do it again.
With a loud grunt-growl, he threw a punch intended for Tabbruis, but he rolled over quickly and the Blood-Hunter’s hand smashed into the concrete breaking it up in pieces leaving a big hole.
Tabbruis got up and threw a kick swiping the Blood-Hunter’s face. It made him spin as he went down on the pavement.
The Blood-Hunter growled swiping Tabbruis’ legs and threw him hard on the ground.
Charleen began to become more conscious, but still in great pain. She had heard growling and punches being thrown. Groggy from the blow to her head, she put her hand up and tried to stop the bleeding. Her instincts said she had to get out of there now. Trying to stand, she saw two figures battling in the parking lot.
The man who attacked and planned on raping her was fighting a tall man. She felt instant relief this stranger had come to her aid. Something was different was about him. Still in a daze, she started to fumble for her cell phone to call 911, but couldn’t make her fingers work.
Straddling Tabbruis, pinning his arms at the side, the Blood-Hunter rained a barrage of punches into Tabbruis’ face and jaw.
She heard a loud growl. The man who attacked her got the upper hand on her hero. She felt nauseous when she saw him being attacked. She reached her hand out to the stranger as he growled in pain from the blows he was receiving. A glow emerged from Charleen’s hands, and it became like a flow of electricity, and she pointed them at the attacker…
Tabbruis was growling in pain and losing consciousness when he saw light and heard thunder. His eyes rolled back in his head.
A bright white light hit the Blood-Hunter.
Tabbruis could hear him crashing into a car.
The Blood-Hunter made a moan. He melted like butter into the pavement, knocked unconscious from the shock from Charleen’s hands.

Charmeine 1

Tabbruis could not move his head. He was dizzy from the beating, and his body was not responding to any commands.
As he closed his eyes to let unconsciousness overtake him, he saw the face above him. This was the woman from the steam, his dreams, and the clouds. With his last moment of awareness he thought, ‘I have found you.’

Gaurdian…

In a misty white cloud, Charmeine was floating. Her heart was happy and peaceful. She was looking down on what seemed to be like a dreamy movie of Tabbruis, herself, and their baby, Shane.
She realized it was a dream of Heaven again.
Tabbruis was playing with Shane lifting him up in the air and then resting him on his chest.
Shane squealed with laughter.
The ‘Angel Charmeine’ was busy fixing her hair.
All of them were clad in long, white robes. However, Tabbruis looked stunning in a breastplate of gold armor and a sword at his side.
Her heart warmed as she saw Tabbruis and Shane because her family meant the world to her.

Later, Charmeine and Tabbruis were walking down a street. He had Shane in his arms and rocked him while making cooing noises. Eventually, they arrived at a big market square where everyone was murmuring and milling around.
Suddenly, the sky broke open and a perfect white light settled over the gathering. A voice came from the front of the square.

An Archangel clad in magnificent gold armor stood on a platform in front of the crowd. He proclaimed, “I, Archangel Gabriel, will read the Prophecy. All true Angels of God will rejoice.” He took out a scroll from his sheath, “There are many Angels who are rebellious and doubt the word of God.”
Everyone started to murmur as the Archangel Gabriel began to read from a scroll:
Listen, oh Angels of Heaven:
Those who are disobedient will be cast from Heaven into the Lake of Fire and Torment.
Their place will become devoid of God and God’s mercy!
The Earth will be abused by those from Hell while they walk the Earth.
To show how omnipotent and loving God is, God will send his only begotten Son, a Lamb, to be slaughtered for all in Heaven and in Hell.
The Lamb’s followers shall be only of the Meek, the Honest, and the Self-Sacrificing.
The Lamb will send his weakest Angel to bring peace to a troubled world before the Apocalypse.
They will call her, The Queen of Light and her Champion will be the King of Darkness.
They will bring order and continue the fight against those defiant and seditious of God’s word and battle to rid the Earth of Lucifer’s minions.
Their family will rule with justice, harmony and determination of spirit.
Suddenly, Charmeine’s movie became fuzzy and with no sound.
She was now looking over a scene of Angels running around the ‘Angel Charmeine’ with fear and panic. Not hearing anything, Charmeine floated over the scene. Fire was raining down on Heaven while she carried Shane. Some of the buildings of Heaven were burning. She ran up and down the great Gate of Heaven which was in a lattice pattern with spikes at the bottom.

Out of desperation, the ‘Angel Charmeine’ put Shane down and ran to the Gatekeeper pleading. She was fearful for Shane as he was crying and frightened. She was begging The Gatekeeper for something, but he was shaking his head no. The Gatekeeper was rolling down the Gate of Heaven. As it was lowering, in sheer desperation, the ‘Angel Charmeine’ threw herself under it.
In a sudden burst of agony, Charmeine felt it.
She experienced a shock of intense pain and the loud noises rang in her ears. Opening her eyes, she had become the ‘Angel Charmeine’ now. Extreme pain and red-hot fire ran through her body. The Gate of Heaven had ripped her almost in half.
Tabbruis was gripping her hand while pulled down into Hell.
Even though Charmeine was in great pain and misery, she held his hand tightly. She said in desperation, “Hold on Tabbruis. Do not let go!”
Nevertheless, she saw black hands trying to pull him down into the darkness.
Her body was in intense torment, but she willed herself to keep holding his hand.
“Semper tuus ero, Charmeine!”
“Semper tua ero, Tabbruis!” She pleaded, “Oh God, he is not here. Open the Gate of Heaven for him. I need my husband. Our son needs his father.”
He let go of her hand and was finally dragged into Hell.
“Tabbruis! God, help him. Bring him back to us. Shane and I need him.”

As she ran her hand down the spike which impaled her, she started to feel the life go out of her body. She reached for Shane who was by her leg crying out, ‘Ma, Ma, Ma!’
She felt his arm while he desperately grabbed her hand.
Totally helpless to protect her family, she wailed in final scream of agony and closed her eyes.

Helpless!
We all have felt it.
I hate feeling helpless…
But I believe Angels of a higher power guard me!
I envision “Gaurdian” being Charmeine’s theme song.
The words are here for you to read while you listen.
They speak to me… I hope they speak to you too!

You who has soldiered through the profane

They were distracted and shut down
So why, why would you talk to me at all

Such words were dishonorable and in vain

Tabbruis opened his eyes when he heard the door close and saw Charmeine was no longer there.
He could not comprehend how such a compassionate and loving creature existed. She was a marvel to him. Her capacity for kindness was infinite yet she was firm, truthful and most of all, devoted.
However, his desire for her was frightening to him. He was terrified of the thing he had never known in his long life on the Earth… Love! He thought, ‘Am I in love with her? Is this, what love was?’

He closed his eyes and leaned back trying to remember what Shakespeare wrote in ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ one of his favorite plays. He remembered a quote from Act II, Scene II, and said it out loud:
My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
my love as deep;
the more I give to thee,
the more I have,
for both are infinite.
Tabbruis leaned back and dreamt about Charmeine in the clouds. He closed his eyes and went over the image of himself in the clouds being free to hold and kiss her. He wanted to be that free, but he did not know how.

Tabbruis has to convince Charmeine to stay!

Tabbruis and Charmeine

He saw the ‘dream Charmeine.’ This time he looked down, it was the present day Tabbruis holding and kissing the ‘dream Charmeine.’ The scene was electric, and he enjoyed her body against his. He looked at another scene to find the present day Tabbruis with the present day Charmeine. He saw him take her face in his hands give her a deep and passionate kiss.
He opened his eyes in a start and sat up. He muttered, “God, it was just a dream.” He really wanted it to be real. He lowered himself back into the tub. Tabbruis was sure he would go to no end to protect her. But now, he thought he would never be able to live without her either; to see her face, touch her, talk with her, and be near her.
Tabbruis thought there was never a time before he saw Charmeine’s face. It seemed like all the centuries of being alone disappeared for him. He thought, ‘All I want to do is be with her for the rest of my life.’

Okay, I’m a Shakespheare nut…
only because his plays are so romantic, and I’m a sucker for romance!
When Tabbruis quotes Shakespheare that was really me talking.
My “Tabbruis” is wonderful in my eyes as Shakespheare said in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream,’ “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind.”
Today, I hope you remind yourself of the boundless love you have
which is ever present in your mind, heart and soul!

LOVE WEEK…Happy Valentine’s Day GIVEAWAY “The Light-Bearer Novelist” by Emily Guido

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY
This is ‘LOVE WEEK’

Tabbruis closed the door to the small bedroom and walked down the hall. He thought, ‘How can we be together? Such polar opposites, we are? How can she love me? How? She is a Light-Bearer? I wonder when she says my name if she feels the same for me as I do for her? Please God let it be the same? God, how do I do this?’
He hung his head while sitting down on the corner of the bed. He put his head in his hands with his elbows on his knees. He did not know what to do. For all the years Tabbruis lived on Earth, he lived in a shell, an iron enclosure he put around his heart. His hope had never been tapped into. He did not know what hopefulness felt like until he saw Charmeine’s face.
Tabbruis had to take a chance at being happy. It would be a chance to either fill his heart or crush it, but he needed to try.
For her love, he would do anything. He prayed, “Lord God, please allow me to love Charmeine.”

Feeling better and a bit hopeful, Charmeine finished showering. She dried her hair, brushing the golden waves into lazy curls. She rubbed the complementary rose lotion into her skin. It smelled like a field of roses, and she relished the aroma. She put on a long white silk camisole and a robe.
Charmeine took a big breath looking in the mirror. She wandered if Tabbruis was feeling the way she was. She didn’t think she could take it if he rejected her love. She said to herself, “Charmeine, this is the moment. You can’t run away from him now. You are past the point of going back to being a lonely woman. You can’t be without Tabbruis.”

She tentatively walked into the Master Suite, and no lights were on in the room. The New York Harbor Bay patio doors were open with the moon bathing the area in light and a fresh breeze was wafting across her nose. She saw his robe on the chair. She looked over to the bed, and he was lying in the bed under the covers but had no pajama top on. She had to keep from wondering if he had his pajama bottoms on underneath.
Bravely she went over to the patio doors and slowly placed her robe next to his robe. Her skin glistened in the moonlight. The wind was blowing through her hair and the camisole she wore rippled in the breeze.
“Charmeine, you are so beautiful. I cannot believe you exist. You are like the sun and I am the Earth rotating on my axis around you.”
He came to her, and she sighed with awkward relief to see he was wearing pajama bottoms as he walked to her.

Tabbruis and Charmeine stood in the moonlight with their defenses down watching each other. Both scared and shy, but also they burned with the fire of want underneath their skin.
He took her delicate hands into his. Vines of white currents began to dance between their hands.
“Tabbruis…” she breathed with content.
He swallowed hard, “Charmeine, I cannot deny it anymore. I am yours.”
“I…Tabbruis,” she declared, “I am yours also.” She wrapped her arms around him.
As he held her in his strong arms, slowly he bent to kiss her. He pulled away and vowed, “From this day forward, we never have to be alone again.”
With the wind at their backs, they turned and went to the bed. They laid on the bed facing each other on their sides.
He was not going to do anything she did not want to do. He noticed her heart beating very fast and asked, “What is wrong?”
“I’m…just nervous. Do you know what I mean?”
“Yes, I do,” he replied. Tabbruis let out a big breath like he had been holding it ever since she came in the door. “I think we need to talk.” He took a deep breath, “Charmeine, please believe me, you are the first woman…”
“Shh, no worries,” she interrupted him with a reassuring look.
Raising his eyebrows, Tabbruis inquired, “May I ask if you have ever…?”
“I have never felt like I wanted to give myself to anyone.”
“I have to confess, I felt the same,” he admitted with great relief.
She smiled sweeping the bangs from his face, “Tabbruis, I think devotion is about commitment, affection and passion, not the mechanics of the act.”
He looked into her eyes, “It calms me to know you feel that way, Charmeine.”
While they were facing each other, he took her hand and put it close to their faces. The tendrils and sparks lit up, and they both smiled. “I have been waiting for someone for thousands of years to make me feel alive and ignite a light inside of me. I know now that someone is you, Charmeine.”
“Tabbruis, since you have come into my life, I have had an inferno in me which I never had before. I don’t know why, but it’s there now burning and raging inside of me.”
He leaned over and started kissing her softly. Desire grew as they opened their mouths, and their tongues danced…passion was flying through their bodies.
She ran her fingers through his hair and reveled in the touch of his lips on hers more than anything.
They pulled away from each other and began to hold each other’s hand. This time, her hand did not give off sparks but white but lazy curls and tendrils of light. “I am content and happy, and I think the light knows.”

Tabbruis nervously exhaled a big breath. He looked at Charmeine like he was going to cry. “I am going to tell you some things which have been weighing on my mind. Please do not talk, just let me get everything out I want to say.” He sighed and held her sparking hand tightly.
“I have been in such turmoil ever since we met because I did not know a relationship between us would work; you being a Light-Bearer, and I, being a Blood-Hunter. However, that is just secondary to me now. The first and foremost thing on my mind is the fact I want you in my life always. I am totally committed to you. I never want to live another day without you in it.
You, Charmeine, are the breath that fills my lungs, my eyes that let me see eternity without being sad, and my heart which beats now only to make you happy. My flame for you is eternal, and it will never burn out. Time will never erase our feelings for one another.
And Charmeine, there will time when all be right, when all the fears we both have will dissipate about a physical relationship. We will then be able to free ourselves. The uncertainties will no longer exist. For now, please let me hold your body next to mine tonight? Just reflect on what I have said because I do not say these things lightly.”
Tabbruis held out his arm and patted his chest beckoning her head to rest there. She smiled and nestled her head on his chest while her body snuggled up against his. He felt her tears fall like droplets on his skin. Each tear was a baptism to him. He knew then she loved him. He was washed clean in her love. He stroked her head comforting her and with one final sob, she cried herself to sleep. Once she was asleep, he saw her smiling. Her blond hair lit up when the moonlight reached it. Her hair was across his arm and chest and the heat from her touch soothed him.
Nevertheless, he wondered how they were going to make this love work because they were opposites. More pressing was the fact the Blood-Hunter was still out there, a mortal threat to all of their safety.

Tabbruis worried about the morning and what would come. But when he looked at her face, and the soft expression of happiness on it, he made a low growl of contentment.
Hopefulness, for the first time in his 8000 year life, washed over him like a wave. He fell asleep with Charmeine…his love, breath, and life tightly woven in his arms.
Tabbruis and Charmeine found each other at last.

“LOVE WEEK” Dreams… “Charmeine” from “The Light-Bearer Series” by Emily Guido

Together they slept just holding each other with their pajamas and robes on.
It was light outside when Charleen awoke. She felt Tabbruis’ chest under her head which comforted her immediately.
He opened his eyes, and felt her stir on his chest. He held her tightly.
She smiled and said with a whisper, “You’re here. You didn’t leave me.”
“No, I did not leave you.” He smiled and tenderly stroked her hair, “Actually for some reason, I was so relaxed, I slept. I usually do not sleep, but I did.”
“I’m glad you did.” She smiled and yawned.
“I also had a good dream, which is unusual.” He closed his eyes recollecting the wonderful dream.
“You don’t ever dream good dreams?”
“Usually, no,” he furrowed his eyebrows. Then his face changed, and began to smile, “However, you were in my dream last night, and it was very good.”
Putting her chin on his chest, she said with wide eyes, “I had a dream, and you were in my dream too.”
“Well it is understandable. We have had some pretty intense hours since we met.” He closed his eyes remembered the dream and smiled.

“Yes, but in my dream you called me a different name.” She was trying to think, “Let me see, it wasn’t Charleen. It was Charm… something?” Then she furrowed her brow. “Charm… Charm…”
“Charmeine?” he cut her off and was shaking to his core.
“Yes Charmeine. That’s it.” Then she furrowed her brow and asked, “How did you know that?” Not waiting for him to answer, she inquired with a wondering look, “Is your real name…Tabbruis?”
Again taken aback, his eyes widened, and he nodded slowly.
Tabbruis and Charleen both bolted up and sat across from each other instantly knowing they had the same dream.
Tabbruis was stunned!
Charleen was reeling!
He could not believe what was happening. “Yes, it is my given name. When I awoke in the desert my name, Tabbruis, was the only thing I could remember.”

She smiled and whispered, “Tabbruis…Tab-bree-us…Yes, I like the name because it suits you much better.”
“When I was found wandering around Holbrook, all I could remember was Char.” Looking up at him, she asked, “Then my given name must be Charmeine?”
His face softened into a big smile and replied softly, “Yes, your given name must have been Charmeine.”
Tabbruis and Charleen both could not believe what had just happened.
With a voice almost inaudible she looked at him and asked, “What does ‘Semper tuus ero’ mean?”
Tabbruis could not answer. He had no voice, because he was scared. He took a big breath and shot out of bed. As he was pacing on the terrace, he tried to make sense of all this. He had never remembered anything before his waking up in the desert. Tabbruis was terrified and baffled.
Angrily, she got out of bed and stood in front of him. “Enough. Look, I’m really getting tired of the hot and cold treatment. You can’t just pull back and not explain anything to me. What does all this mean?”
Tabbruis turned and looked at her with a frustrated expression while he was pacing back and forth. “Do you think I understand? I do not know why you… I do not understand the clouds and white… I certainly do not understand why we said those things in our dream!”
She leaned back on the rail folding her arms over her chest and sarcastically quipped, “Well, this is just great. I’m sorry if my dream ruined your day, but I thought it was a great dream. I can’t help it if I dreamt the same dream as you. Where are the dream police? Arrest me, why don’t ya?”
Still pacing, Tabbruis just shook his head and muttered under his breath, “Hilarious.”
As he paced, she collected her thoughts looking at the harbor and asked, “There has to be a reason for our dream? I don’t know. Maybe it was Heaven?”
He was still pacing.
Turning around, she looked at him. She asked again with sweetness in her voice, “Maybe it was Heaven, Tabbruis?”
He stopped pacing and stood still. He was warmed hearing his given name coming out of her mouth with such kindness.
She asked again softly, “Tabbruis… maybe it was Heaven?”
He walked to her, touched her chin to bring it up and looked deep into her brown eyes. Ever so tenderly he explained, “Semper tuus ero, means in Latin, I am forever yours.”
She breathed a contented sigh and closed her eyes, because it felt like his words were like honey. “Tabbruis…those are the most beautiful words I have ever heard.”
Melting into an embrace and holding each other with longing, he rested his chin on her forehead and asked, “Do you want me to call you Charleen or Charmeine?”
She smiled wide, snuggled her head against his chest and whispered, “I would like you to call me by the name I was born with, Tabbruis.”
“Yes, Charmeine,” and he smiled.

For some reason, together they had a memory, and it was before they woke up on the Earth alone.
Tabbruis and Charmeine realized they had a past.
Together now, they were alone no more.

Tabbruis thought of their kiss in the clouds and the way she looked at him.
He put his hands on Charmeine’s cheeks and looked deep into her brown eyes. The sun was reflecting her golden hair around her face. He could not help it, it was more of a reflex, but he leaned down very slowly. He hesitated for what seemed like forever over her lips and kissed her ever so lightly.
The kiss lingered on their lips forever as they held each other.
