The Experiment
Author groups can be life-changing. Just recently, I made a new friend, Sarah Johnson, who is a well-known writer of Jane Austen fan fiction. Not only is she an awesome writer, she is a fantastic cover designer.
About a month ago, Sarah took it upon herself to read one of my most recent novellas, Charlotte's Lance and the Round Fable. Well, she loved it, and told me she was stumped as to why it wasn't selling.
But Sarah didn't just pay lip service to my advancement: she came up with an idea. She suggested that I follow in her footsteps, writing fan fiction of the iconic Jane Austen.
At first I thought it impossible. But from impossible to maybe is just a step, and from maybe to actually starting such a project is just another.
The upshot is that Longbourn Revisited has come into being, and so far has been downloaded and read by a number of people. Who knows what the outcome will be... and all thanks to Sarah's kind suggestion.

Another Novella is on the Way
Another novella is on the way...
I'm hoping to release it within a few weeks.
For those of you who like sweet romance set in the 1950's, this promises to be another, potentially enjoyable, read.
Set in Sydney, Australia, this is the story of a young lady, Charlotte, and the obstacles that she must overcome to find both love and inner peace.

Coming Soon: A New Novella
Lovers of short, clean romance, please take note! Very soon, such a book will be released on Amazon Kindle. Entitled 'Love Denied', it's the story of Elizabeth - a Australian teacher of pianoforte, whose life is destined to be upended once she receives a letter from a former admirer living in Scotland.
This will be my eighteenth title.

More Good News
I guess everyone knows that life isn't easy for most self-published authors. High points can be few. The upside of this is, of course, that sweet moments are relished to the utmost.
So I'm thrilled to report I've just been notified by Hurstville City Library that they will be ordering my new release, ,Love, Now and Then. What's more, they congratulated me on its publication.
This follows a week of small but consistent downloads of my titles.
Perhaps now, after five and a half years, things are starting to happen.

Sharing Good News...
Sharing good news…
On Saturday 7th September 2015, Ron and I attended the awards ceremony at Hurstville City Library (a major centre in suburban Sydney, Australia).
As one who had been short-listed, I admit to being a trifle nervous as the results were about to be announced.
So it was with much delight that I learned that my entry entitled ‘More Than a Mere Bagatelle’- a short story about a child, her family, and a piano – had been awarded a Second Prize in its section.

Ups and Downs...
I've found it often happens that, when one thing goes well, something else goes badly.
I would have been rejoicing at the performance of 'Love, Desire and Betrayal' on the Amazon.com paid Kindle site - it peaked at #4,340. But my joy at that was tempered by a most debilitating bout of influenza...
Oh, well, whatever will be will be, as the song says...

Even More Good News!
About an hour ago I received an email, telling me that my work has been short-listed for an award in the 2015 Hurstville Discovery Writers Group Literary Award presentation on November 7.
In addition, 'More Than a Mere Bagatelle' (one of my two entries) will be included in the group's anthology, 'The Art of Writing'.
I'm delighted!

At Last: Some Good News
The world of Indie publishing is not for those who give up easily.
It's taken five years to get to where I am: the author of fourteen titles. In truth, fourteen *unknown* titles...
But take heart, for things might be about to change...
Firstly, a well-known news site, for and about Baby Boomers, has notified us that they plan to feature an article about me and my writing in this week's edition: on the 11th September.
Next, two days ago an email arrived, so exciting that I ran to my husband Ron to fill him in the details. And what do you think it was? The Midlist had just posted their acceptance of my title Love, Desire and Betrayal and in late October would promote it via email, Facebook and Twitter! When I'd applied to the site a few days before, I gave myself all but no chance. Their acceptance rate for a standard promotion (at no cost to the author) is a mere five percent.
So, at last, some progress. Just what it achieves remains to be seen...

Chicki's Post
Hello to all my fans! I’m so happy to report that Mummy has finally yielded to my urgent demands and once again given me access to her blog. And about time, too! I’m sure all of you must have been out of sorts, so long have you been waiting and hoping for my triumphant return…
Doubtless you’ll be relieved to know that life has been treating me pretty well. I’ve made some new doggy friends on my daily walks to the park, as well as keeping up my acquaintance with old comrades such as Sasha, the frisbee-catching canine. Sasha thinks she’s a star performer: just quietly, she told me she loves an audience.
And well she might, for I also admit https://margaretlynettesharp.wordpres...
