Reflections of a Bird in Flight
Reflections of a Bird in Flight

Here I am again, unsure of the avian species. I’ll narrow it down to two guesses: Pelican or Egret.
Be that as it may, I think you’ll enjoy seeing this bird in flight and its reflections on the surface of the river.

An Exciting Week!
This is turning out to be a red-letter week!
Today I discovered that Shelleyrae Cusbert, of the famous Book'd Out site, will be reading my Short Story Collection entitled 'Encore' this week!
I am both very excited and very nervous. What will she make of it?
Stay tuned. :)

Here I Come
Here I come!
I wonder what this Sulphur-crested Cockatoo has spied. I’m sure he has his eye on something…
Perhaps it’s a tasty treat. Or maybe, http://margaretlynettesharp.wordpress...

Keep whispering sweet nothings…
Is that what this gorgeous lady duck is telling her suitor?

A Welcome Visitor
Some months ago I spotted a welcome visitor.
A magnificent white bird had landed in our river baths. This seems to be a rare event, since I very seldom see one of

What's Wrong with Self-publishing?
What's wrong with self-publishing?
That's the question.
Aspiring, or well-versed, authors may choose this avenue for a variety of reasons. Control--of the work, the cover, the price and everything else- is fixed firmly in their hands.
All this is great. Trouble is, unless one is possessed of amazing stamina, wonderful marketing skills, and resounding personal strength, there are bound to be periods where one wonders, why??
Acclaim, sales and readership. That's what most, if not all, authors desire. But with self-publishing, the path to success is so arduous, so dispiriting, that it's small wonder some throw up their hands and even give up.
Overwhelmingly, newspaper reviewers shun the self-published work. There is so much out there, and unfortunately a significant proportion is below par, or so I hear...
The moral?
Who knows?
If nothing else, before you enter into this never-ending journey, please realize that there's a ton of work to be done, quite apart from the writing, to have any chance at all of commercial success.
