Faster We Burn photo teaser numero uno!

So I've decided to do something fun to celebrate the last week before Faster We Burn releases... I wanted to do teasers, but those don't really grab me usually. So what am I doing? PHOTO-TEASERS!!! I'm going to be posting one new teaser each day, starting today. If you want to share them, that would be fab, and I'll announce my release day contest on Monday and sharing these will count as entries toward that. FUN STUFF. Okay, so you probably want the teaser right? Well, I give you... Stryker Grant...

Are you getting ready for Faster We Burn?

We're only a few weeks away from April 20! I'm at the point where my eye is twitching and I keep waking up in the middle of the night blindly panicking. I should have it back from my editor today or tomorrow, and then I have to get it to the formatter. I decided this time around to get it formatted well before the release date so I can send out some ARCs, and also get them to the bloggers for my blog tour. I'm super stoked, because Giselle, from Xpresso Reads is doing a tour for BOTH books! It's going to be freaking awesome, including a MASSIVE giveaway for something you're gonna want ;)

I also got my act together and finished the synopsis, so there that is:

Katie Hallman is done with douchebags. Done with guys who treat her like crap and leave her broken. But then Stryker Grant is there anyway. With his numerous piercings and bleached hair, he’s the polar opposite of all of her past relationships, which makes him the perfect candidate.
At first, Katie just sees him as a physical escape from her previous rocky relationship, and Stryker doesn’t seem to mind just being a distraction from Katie’s problems. But soon he’s getting under her skin, peeling back layers she’d rather keep covered. She tries to make it clear that she doesn’t want a relationship, but keeps breaking her own rules.
Then a tragedy sends Katie into the only arms who are there to catch her, and she’ll realize that she needs him more than she ever thought possible. But is she ready to let herself trust another guy with her already-battered heart? Or will she push him away to protect herself from getting hurt again?
If you are so inclined, you can add FWB to your Goodreads shelf here. If you are a blogger, and you would like to have an ARC, please email me: chel.c.cam@gmail.com and let me know. I'm actually going to make a physical list of bloggers who get ARCs. I KNOW, I'm like, getting organized. We'll see how long it lasts...

In which I talk about hunky vampires....

Confession time: When I read Twilight in 2008, I had never read a vampire book before. I'd only seen parts of Interview with a Vampire, but no other vampire movie. I'd never watched Buffy. I'd never seen Lost Boys.
Vampires grossed me out. Probably because of the blood thing. I was much more into wizards and magic and things of that nature. Creatures of the night, no thank you.
Well, then this guy entered my life....
Oh hai, Edward Cullen. Nice to see you and your hair.

Yeah, I was a goner. The BROODING... the INTENSITY OF HIS LOVE. I was totally hooked. So once I decided that vampires were sexy and not creepy they were EVERYWHERE. Which is kind of awesome, yes?
If you follow me on Twitter at all, you know that I am obsessed with Vampire Diaries. I have all the seasons on DVD and I've watched them all several times. Back in the day, I was totally Team Stefan because, well, why wouldn't you be? The HAIR! The FOREHEAD! The melt-your-heart-and-other-places STARE!But then something happened. Something named DAMON SALVATORE. *stares* *falls over*I mean, have you SEEN him? He's just... the bees freaking knees. He's the bad boy. He's the guy that you KNOW you should avoid, but he just... makes you tingly in all the right places. And somehow, he's always there when you need him. I could go on, and on and ooooonnnnnnnnn *has a Don't Stop Believing Moment*
So, what was I talking about? RIGHT. Moving on?
Okay, so I know I'm a traitor to my generation because I'd never seen Buffy. There are a list of reasons why I didn't get to watch it when it originally aired, most of which being we didn't get that channel, and I didn't have cable to watch it in syndication.
But lately I've been seeing a lot of people talking about Buffy, so I figured, why the heck not? I have Amazon Prime, so I can watch the entire series online for free, so I went for it.
I'm only on episode 10 of season 2, but I'm hooked. Um, why did I not know how SMOKING hot David Boreanaz was?  Could someone call the Fire Department? We have a blazing hottie on our hands. And then there's Spike. I don't know him that well yet, but I'm already digging him. *drops to the floor*There's something I noticed about Buffy, after having watched The Vampire Diaries. Spike=Damon and Angel=Stefan. Spike is the bad boy who always has an agenda, he's snarky, he's sexy and dark, but he definitely has a sweet side to him that he tries to repress. Angel and Stefan have got the hair and the brooding forehead and the "I have to stay away from you and keep secrets because I'm trying to protect you!" thing going on.
The other thing about Buffy is that it's like taking a lovely trip down memory lane. Giant cell phones! Overalls! Pagers! ENORMOUS computers! No Facebook!
In one of the episodes a demon was unleashed online and Willow got into a weird relationship with him and all I could think of was that it was the original Catfish.
The other thing I love about Buffy is that I feel that the humor was written specifically for me. Like somehow Joss Whedon has infiltrated my mind, found out exactly what makes me laugh and then went and wrote it into a show. It's AWESOME.
I will probably be doing more vampire-related posts, along with zombie-related posts. What can I say? I have a thing for the undead.
If you've watched Buffy or TVD, what's your favorite episode? My fave TVDs are when Damon and Elena go to Georgia, the first Miss Mystic episode and the rescuing Jeremy from Colorado episode (see a pattern? I'm a bit of a Damon Salvatore fangirl). So far for Buffy, I'm waiting for some more steam to happen, but I gotta say when Angel gave her his leather jacket, I melted into a puddle on the floor. Damn those vampires.

INDIE-Kissing!!!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone and welcome to the INDIE-Kissing Blogfest! Bet you can't guess what I'm going to post about. No, I am not posting about Damon Salvatore, although I could do post after post about Damon Salvatore, his lips, and how awesome it would be to kiss them. SO, in lieu of that, I am posting a scene from Deeper We Fall, which is out now on AmazonBarnes and Noble and Kobo. Also, don't forget to hop back to The Indelibles Blog to see everyone else's post! Without further ado, I give you the first kissing scene between Zan Parker and Lottie Anders (Warning, contains adult-type language)...
“What? You just said, ‘When guys see a pretty girl alone,’ so am I the pretty girl? Or were you talking about girls in general and not just specifically –”It was stopped by a pair of lips on mine.I froze for a moment, my brain trying to understand what was happening. There were lips on mine. Zan lips. Warm, soft Zan lips. Kissing, that was what this was called.Only, I’d been kissed before. By Clark and… what was the other guy’s name? The lips pulled away from mine, and he rested his forehead against mine. He was so tall, he had to bend quite a bit.“Has anyone ever told you that you talk too much?” he said, moving his thumb across my bottom lip.“All the time,” I whispered. “What was that for?”“It was the only way to get you to stop talking.”“So you wanted to shut me up and you thought that was the best way to do it? What is wrong with–”There it was again. The lips. On my lips.I froze again, and he pulled away.“Stop thinking,” he said, before trying again. Persistent, he was.My brain wanted to think about the fact that I was kissing the boy who was responsible for not only ruining my life, but the life of my best friend, but for once, I told it to shut the fuck up.My hands placed themselves hesitantly around his neck and shoved themselves into his hair. My lips started working with his and he responded, pushing me farther, closer, hotter, more, more, more.It was so easy to open my mouth and let him in. For the first time, he hesitated before sliding his tongue into my mouth. I’d tried that with Clark, but it was always awkward and weird and I felt like I was drowning in spit. This was…He tasted like crisp leaves and rain and cinnamon gum.I never wanted it to stop as my body sang. His hands caressed the sides of my face and stroked my hair and finally came around my neck, pulling me closer until I was pressed against the scratchy wool of his coat.We broke apart and breathed in unison for a moment.“Wow,” he said, wiping my hair away from my face. The wind had blown it all around. I hadn’t noticed the wind at all. I was on fire from my fingertips to the ends of my hair to my toenails.“Uh huh.”I held onto him and we stared at each other. This close, I realized his eyes weren’t just dark. No, they were blue and green and gold and brown and black and every color an eye can be. They were like a Monet painting that looked like one color from far away, but when you got close you could pick out all the little pieces.“I’ve wanted to do that for so long,” he said.“I haven’t.”“God, I love how honest you are.”Wait, love? Did he just say love? Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold the phone.I pulled back from him and reality crashed down. I clamped my hand over my mouth.“Oh, shit.”“What is it?”“I kissed you.”“Technically I kissed you and you let me.” Oh, it was more than that. If I’d just let him kiss me, my face would have been still. Not moving against his like I’d been practicing my whole life and this was my one shot at kissing him.“This never happened.”He took a step back too, and let go of my face. I started shivering the moment his skin left mine.“If you want it that way.”I nodded.“This didn’t happen. It can’t happen. Please, I just…”“It’s okay, Charlotte. You don’t have to explain it to me. I shouldn’t have done it. But I’m not going to take it back.” He licked his lips, as if he was trying to taste me on them.“Then why did you do it?”“I stopped thinking and just ran with it.”So did I.
