Watching THE WITCHER
[image error]
I’ve been watching a show based on a series of books. Perhaps you’ve heard of…THE WITCHER? Magic and medieval-ish costumes and monsters and a brooding hero equals fun, albeit some nudity, sex, adult language, and a very confusing timeline. Really confusing. Like, it took me three episodes to figure out that we’re moving back and forth through time as the story’s being told. By then it’s charming and cool (imo), but still somewhat unnecessarily tangled. I liked it, and I still do, but as...

What I’m Listening to: January 2020
Right now, I’m working on the first draft of book three of The Goblets Immortal series. While I write, I’ve been listening to some pretty awesome music that I thought I should give a mention. Here, in no particular order, are the artists and the songs that I’ve been playing:
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da (cover) by Gabriela Bee
Hero by Chad Kroeger
I’m So Sorry by Imagine Dragons
Toss a Coin to Your Witcher (cover) by Samuel Kim
Bring Me to Life by Evanescence
HandClap by Fitz and the Tantrums
Only...

What I’m Reading: January 2020
My TBR (to be read) pile keeps growing, but I need to finish what I’ve started reading, which has proven difficult lately. Don’t get me wrong. It’s nothing to do with the books I’m reading—per se. I think I just have a small case of reader’s burnout. Ugh. Here’s what I’m reading:
PRAY BIG by Alistair Begg
STOKER’S WILDE by Steven Hopstaken and Melissa Prusi
OPHELIA by Lisa M. Klein
REVISION AND SELF-EDITING FOR PUBLICATION by James Scott Bell
SORCERY OF THORNS by Margaret Rogerson
THE BOOK OF...

Drawing and Fun
Hi everyone!
I hope your holidays treated you well. Back to the old grind, eh? Wait, wait, WAIT. Let’s not put it like that. Let’s not let it BE that. I want to have fun. I want work to be fun and experimental. I want to take risks.

On and off throughout my life, I’ve dabbled in drawing and painting. I’ve never had any lessons–and it shows. Remember when I talked about needing a hobby? Something that wasn’t work but ALL fun? Well, I’ve decided to...

New Year, Non-negotiable Goals
[image error]
We’ve said farewell to a decade, guys! It’s the ’20s again, and that is cause for celebration.
I considered attending a Roaring ’20s NYE party, but I’m not big on crowds. Or booze. Or being out late, for that matter. Did you y’all do anything fun to ring in the New Year? Kiss someone special?
Since it’s the beginning a new year, I’ve set a few goals for myself. I have other people depending on me now, so most of these goals are pretty much non-negotiable:
Send in polished (final) draft of...December 27, 2019

Mental Illness and the Holidays
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza, the New Year, Festivus (my spell check recognizes that word, huzzah.) I celebrate Christmas, Jolabokaflod*, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. I also have several disorders that I’m coping with. And I’m an introvert…or maybe just very shy.
OCD + clinical depression + social anxiety disorder + more = a tangled ball of Yuletide Fear.
At a party, OCD’s all like, “Hey, I wouldn’t drink anything. You might have to use someone’...

Christmas Movie Bingo
Hey, everyone! I’ve been thinking about all of the Christmas movies I have watched throughout the years, and was wondering: who else has seen what I’ve seen? Soooo…I’ve decided to do a game of Christmas movie bingo. Whoever gets five in row going up and down, side to side, or diagonally, gets bragging rights and can pick up a free copy of LADY CATHERINE SAYS, if they want. Just email me. Ready? (If you have trouble viewing this, please let me know and I will try to work something out.)

Book Lover’s Christmas List
If you have an avid reader on your Christmas shopping list, here are some ideas that will hopefully spark your imagination.
*
Shopping for a Jane Austen fan? These advent calendar gift bags look awesome! Each day up until Christmas has a numbered bag with a print of an Austen character on it, along with their name and what book they appear in. You could put all sorts of cool little gifts in each bag and make it a yearly tradition.
Know a Harry Potter fan (skip this if you’re squeamish about...
