Wishing You All A Very Merry Christmas and Solstice
From all of us at bethovermyer.com — ahem, which means me and me alone — I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy Winter Solstice.
What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? For me, it has to be the newish-to-me Jolabokaflod, an Icelandic tradition that translated into “Christmas Book Flood.” On Christmas Eve, we gift books to our friends and loved ones. Happy Birthday Bash Giveaway the Beth-Way
It’s the time of year where I celebrate my X0th orbit around the sun! (Yes, the X was on purpose. I’m not giving away ALL of my secrets, lol. Suffice it to say, it’s a big birthday.)
I also share a birthday with my sister, so we celebrated by hanging out. (I’m actually writing this in November, so I’m assuming we will have done these things. I sure hope I can convince her to watch an episode or three of Only Murders in the Building with me!)
Another way I want to celebrate is with YOU!...

What I bet you DO want to hear is about the Thanksgiving I tried to do everything all by myself and ruined the holiday….amiright?
So, picture this: The year is 2011. My sister had married the previous year, and a few months after, my grandpa in Illino...

Hello, fellow readers and writers!
It’s almost the most “wonderful time of the year.” I’m sorry. Truly. But it is. And that means, for a lot of people around the world, it’s time to start Christmas/holiday shopping.
This year, I thought it would be fun to put together a list of gift ideas for your writer and reader friends/family/co-workers/whomever. Not that I’ve necessarily have all of these items myself (I will note which ones I do), but these all seem like fab gifts to me.
Ready?
1 – Fing...
