The wait is over. Here is the cover for book three in The Goblets Immortal trilogy:

Death’s Key Cover

Years after the Circle disbanded, Meraude builds an army to rid the land of mortals, wizards, and anyone she cannot control. The Goblets Immortal and the throne of Inohaim Tower soon will be hers! But there is a thorn in her side and a flaw in her plan.

Pre-Order Incentives for Death’s Key

From what I understand, Death’s Key (The Goblets Immortal 3) is slated to come out November 15, 2022! And, as usual, I am offering pre-order incentives (US mailing addresses only–sorry!) to the first 20 people (18 years or older) to send me proof of purchase (credit card/banking info blacked out) and their mailing address to bethovermyer@gmail.com.

What are these prizes of which I speak? Well, I think they’re pretty fantastic. They are:

1 cake of old-fashioned shaving soap (teakwood- and ...

9 Teas Worthy of a Fellowship…of the Ring

A picture of fantasy author Beth Overmyer sipping from a blue mug. Beth is the author of The Goblets Immortal Trilogy, among other works.

I stayed up late one night–WAY too late, to be honest–and so I got very silly, as I am wont to do when I am very sleep-deprived. So I came to thinking: what tea would each member of the Fellowship of the Ring of Power be most likely to drink? Thus, we now have this (extremely) silly/ridiculous/outlandish/wild/stupid post…if I post it. And if I do, and you hate it, maybe you are jsut sleep-deprived as well…or perhaps you merely DREAMED that I posted it at all…

Gandalf* – Earl Grey for star...

I’m Ecstatic to Announce…the Birth of a Totally New Series!

Don’t panic!

This is it. The moment I have been waiting for: I finally get to announce (on my blog, that is) that the first book in my duology has been accepted for publication by Flame Tree Press!

The title of the book is Brittle and the duology–is not a duology any more. Oops. Instead of two, it is now four books…a tetralogy. So, the tetralogy is called A Duet in Blade and Bone. Book one will available sometime in 2023.

Meanwhile, I’m still waiting on a release date for the third boo...

This book is the second in a duology, all post-Shadow and Bone and post-Six of Crows, set in the Grishaverse. Stolen by the Shadow King by Alisha Klapheke
Here’s part of the blurb:

A Fun Peek at a Favorite 2021 Christmas Present

Picture of a Corona typewriter

As you may have seen on Twitter, I got my grandpa’s typewriter for Christmas. Grandpa Overmyer would write letters to friends and family on it every Sunday and Wednesday evening. And every Christmas, he made certain to write a letter to Grandma. ❤

The machine is manual, portable (? it comes in a case with a handle), and from the small amount of research I did, it looks like it was made in the late 1930s. I’m not selling. This is something so special, and I...

2022 and a Lack of Scheduling

Well, I did it. I managed to post a blog post every Friday of 2021–go, me. This year, however, might be a tad different. Just a heads up: I might only be posting occasionally. Or I might post every week. Or a few times a week. 2022 is the year of no blogging schedule.

I hope you all have a wonderful year. Keep reading and let’s stay in touch!

Keep your nose in a book,
Beth

7 Wintry Books

Seeing as it’s winter and the solstice is merely several days away, I thought it might be fun to compile a list, albeit a short one, of books set in the winter months. And so, without further ado…

WINTRY READS!

The Long Winter (Little House, #6) by Laura Ingalls Wilder
LIW tells the story of her very cold, very snowy winter as a young woman.

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
This one needs no introduction, but…A cantankerous old miser sees the errors of his ways when he is visited by t...
