A to Z Challenge: E

E is for "Exercise."

I have the habit of staying at the computer desk all day. I used to write at night. I have twin daughters and I had them at home with me during the day – not much time to write when you're chasing two kids running in different directions.  I got to exercise during the day with my girls.

Now all four of my children are in school and I'm able to write during the day. And I've developed the bad habit of writing ALL day. What's wrong with that, right? Well, I forget...

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of ...

I can't believe it's the first Wednesday of April!  This year seems to be flying by.  Since it is the first Wednesday of the month that means it's time for:  Insecure Writer's Support Group.  :)

Writer's block.  We all have it at some point.  I have it now.  I'm just starting the third installment of what I "THOUGHT" would be a trilogy.  But I'm blocked; my brain just won't cooperate.  I know what the story is, but I can't get the words on paper (or computer...

A to Z Challenge: D

D is for "Digging In."

I have a bit of writer's block. I'm starting a new story. I know where I want it to start and where it will end, but I'm having trouble getting started. So what to do?

Dig in. Write and write and write and read. I just keep writing – keep digging in – until something clicks. Maybe it will be a totally different idea. Maybe it will be a break through on the story I'm working on. Who knows? But I keep digging in.

What's your opinion – do you dig in? Or do...

Leslee hit a strange animal with her car.  Now she's marked for death.  It was a simple car accident – the animal didn't even die – but it drew the attention of the Cruor Imbibo. Driven by their insatiable need to feed, the...

A to Z Challenge: B

Today's letter is: B for Book Reviews.

As the date for my debut novel approaches I find myself worrying more and more about book reviews.  They're a great way to get the word out about a book - every author needs them.  But how do we deal with so-so, or even worse, bad reviews? They are bound to happen.  Our work isn't going to please everyone.

So what are your thoughts on how to handle Bad (another B word) reviews?  Do you shrug them off, chalking it up to personal taste.  Or avoid...

Six Sentence Sunday

I'm sticking with my debut novel, Concilium, for my six sentences.  Concilium releases in July through MuseItUp Publishing.

SET UP:  Last Leslee was walking through the the safe house she was taken to when the lights went out.  She reached out her hand in the darkness looking for something to guide her in the unfamiliar house.  Many of you commented that she should keep her hands to herself…don't reach out!  Well you were right.  Fast forward a little this is an excerpt after she was...

This is the first year I've participated and I'm very excited to meet my fellow A to Z bloggers!  I'm also a little worried I won't be able to keep up with the daily posts.  But mainly I'm looking forward to having a great time.

If you'd like to read some of the other participants' posts...
