Six Sentence Sunday

Check out other great writers here!

It's Sunday so it's time for another six sentence teaser.  This week I'm continuing in my debut novel Concilium that releases July 1st.

Set-up: Leslee is starting to learn a little about the creature she's angered:

"But the dark brings out the Blood Drinkers and those are
the ones to be scared of, because they’re hunting you.”

“Blood Drinkers–wait, wait a minute,”
I said with a laugh, “are you talking about vampires? Like Dracula?...

Gwen Gardner, YA Fiction Author

I'm helping a good online friend spread the word about her new author's blog!  Everyone show her some bloggy love and pop over and tell her how freakishly awesome she is (cuz, trust me, she is).

Some of you may know her as Lady Gwen from Run Gwen Run! Write Gwen Write!  She's a YA author with her debut novel Givin' Up The Ghost almost ready to release. So all the YA authors, YA readers, YAs, those who wish they were YAs, those who aren't YA but still read the genre anyway and eve...

It’s Sunday so it’s time for another Six Sentence Sunday!

You can read all the participant entries here:

Once again I’m sharing six sentences from my debut novel Concilium scheduled to be released in July.

Set-Up:  This is Brooks warning Leslee (Les) that Miller, the man she’s falling in love with, is only going to break her heart…

“Be careful, Les. There’s more than one way to die.” He stood from the table, turning to go outside.

“Wait, what do you mean?”

“I mean...

Lucky 7 meme

I bet you thought these had ended, right?  Wrong!  Annalisa passed on the Lucky Seven meme to the followers of her blog and I'm one of them.  Since I've never done this meme before (yes, I was always picked last for sports, too.) I'm going to participate. :)

If you haven't heard about this before, here are The Rules:

Go to page 77 of your current MS/WIP.
Go to line 7.
Copy down the next 7 lines – sentences or paragraphs – and post them as they’re written. No cheatin...

Insecure Writer’s Support Group

It’s the first Wednesday of the month and that means it’s time for the Insecure Writer’s Support Group.

Check out other participants here:
InsecureWritersSupportGroup

There’s always something to write when it comes to insecurities, especially for writers, I think.  We pour our heart and soul into our work and then put it out there for everyone to see.  It’s a very intimate thing to do, sharing our writing with the world.

This month I’m waiting to hear on the second round of edits from my editor. ...

A to Z Challenge: The End

Z is for: The End

Well, not really.  But Z is the end of the alphabet and the end of the challenge.  I have to admit this month has Z oomed by (there’s the required z word!).  This was my first A to Z Challenge and it was fun.  I’ve met a lot of great new online friends that I hope keep popping in from time-to-time and I’ll do the same around their side of the web.

But the challenge was just that – a challenge.  Keeping up with daily blog posts is challenging enoug...

A to Z Challenge X

I just realized my "X" post didn't auto post like it was scheduled to.  So I am going to bore you with it now. :)

X is for Xanax

I laughed when I saw this on the list of "difficult letters" that was posted some time ago before the challenge began.  I didn't plan to use it.  I had a really cool post using the word xylophone.  It was about how writers make music out of words - sappy, yes.  But, whatever.  :)

Anyway, back to Xanax.  If there has...

A to Z Challenge: Y

Y is for You

I can't believe the A to Z Challenge is coming to an end.  I have met so many great writer (and other) friends through this challenge and I hope we keep in touch after it has ended. :)

So in honor of all my new friends this post is for YOU.  I want to know about you.  Tell me something...anything you want to share.  Tell about your current WIP, your current Submission, Upcoming Releases, ask for advice about queries, or your synopsis, or it doesn't have to...

Lisa is a fellow Spencer Hill Press family member and I'm so proud to reveal her cover for Breaking Glass.  Isn't it beautiful?!
