Tell all Tuesday
I was recently answering questions for an interview I was doing on another blog for Concilium's blog tour and one of the questions got me thinking. Not the cerebral, MENSA type thinking, but the kind that makes me stop and go…hmm.
Here's the question: What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
Until I answered that question I didn't think I had a quirk. Imagine my surprise when I realized how quirky I am (certifiable, if you ask my husband.).
My writing quirks are: I have...

Tell All Tuesday
As I've mentioned, many times over the
past three months or so, my dad has been ill. He's spent twenty-nine days
in the hospital of the last sixty. I had to take him back to the hospital
last night. The doctors are now afraid he's had a stroke. He just can't
catch a break.
During my dad's
twenty-nine day hospital stay, I've spent a lot of time in waiting rooms,
cafeterias and the like. I've done some major people watching. I love to
people watch. We (people...

A Funny Thing Happened Today...
Some of you know my dad has been very ill.
He's been in and out of the hospital (more in than out) the last two
months. We finally got a diagnosis to his "mysterious" illness.
Just when the doctors figure it out - they go and screw up his medication
and send him into Addison's Crisis. He's been in ICU for the last eight
days.
Well, while he's been there he's told
every nurse - EVERY nurse - that his daughter is an author. He even asked
me to leave some of m...

“What are you doing? Be careful with that!” I said, grabbing the last photo taken of my parents before they died.
Miller and Alex thoroughly searched my living room and kitchen and from the commotion in...

Once again I’m sharing from my debut novel, Concilium. I finally have a release date of July 27th and a cover! Concilium is a new adult/adult urban fantasy romance.
Set-up: This scene takes place early in the book. The main character, Leslee, is leaving work late. She is walking to her car in the parking garage when she stumbles upon the “Whisperers.”

Writing Buddies
Well, school is out for the summer and my kids are already roaming the house complaining they’re bored. Bored?! We live on 2.9 acres…go outside! Enjoy the Texas summer before it’s so hot you can’t go outside without suffering from heat exhaustion just walking to the car.
So I have writing buddies. My twins like to sit at my desk an
d pretend to write with their little pads of paper and crayons—its too cute. Unless I’m really trying to get a scene down before I forget it, because...
