A New Tag you're It

A new "Tag You're It" is making the rounds and I've been tagged by the wonderful  Margo Kelly.

So here's the game:

1.  list ten things about yourself.

2. Tag ten bloggers to tag.

Here are ten things you don't know about me:

1.  I married my wonderful husband when I was 17.  My beautiful, talented (she's a writer, too) daughter was born three years later.

2.  I have four kids.

3.  I collect Pens from anywhere that gives them out.  You never know when you'll need a good pen!

4.  I...

Oppression by Jessica Therrien

I just finished reading Jessica Therrien's debut novel, Oppression and - wow - loved it.

Elyse knows what it means to keep a secret. She's been keeping secrets her whole life. Two, actually. First, that she ages five times slower than the average person, so that while she looks eighteen years old, she's closer to eighty. Second, that her blood has

Six Sentence Sunday

Another installment from my upcoming debut novel Concilium scheduled to release in July.
Set-up:  Leslee, the main character, has just met Miller.  A man she finds incredibly attractive but maddening to the core.  She's just cut her foot and he's carrying her off to get it bandaged…

I was flung over his shoulder as he strode calmly through my house like he belonged there. It wasn't like the

Insecure Writer's Support Group

It's the first Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for

This month I'm so excited by all the publicity my debut YA novel PODs is getting.  Some awesome people have opened their blogs for my cover reveal and now it's making the "Waiting on Wednesday" rounds.

My insecurity is that it's too soon (releases June 2013) and everyone will have forgotten about it by then. But that isn't

Tag You're It…

I've been tagged by the incredibly nice Nick Wilford.  Here are his questions and my answers.

1. Who is your favourite character of all time and why?
Nancy Drew.  The books really engaged me as a young child and kept me interested in reading.  A close second would be the boy (can't remember his name) in Where The Red Fern Grows.  I loved the book.

2. When is your best time to write? Why?

Tell all Tuesday

Plotter or Pantster – we hear the question a lot. We also have an assortment of craft books telling us exactly how to do it and why it's the "best" way. But one method doesn't work for every writer, so we end up twisting and turning those methods until they fit our needs.  And that's okay.

For those you who are plotters, how do you do it?  What methods do you use?  If you use an outline, how

Six Sentence Sunday

In anticipation of the release of my debut novel, Concilium, I'm going to be sharing snippets from it each Sunday from now until July when it is scheduled to be published in e-book format.
This passage is from the first chapter.  The main character, Leslee, has just had and accident after nearly hitting a strange animal that darted across the road in front of her car.
I probed the welt forming on
