More of Christmas Knight on Weekend Writing Warriors #8Sunday

Link back to Weekend Writing Warriors - www.wewriwa.com
Christmas Knight is a short piece I wrote for a box set. It takes place on a Christmas cruise. Tamara is upset on the day before Christmas.
She stuffed her tissue into her pocket and glanced at her cell phone. Her parents' text still filled the screen. Sorry we missed the boarding. Horrible snow storms. Hundreds of flights cancelled. We arrived in time to watch you sail over the edge of the earth. Our first Christmas not being together. Tears are forming. Must go. Love, Mom and Dad.

CALLIE’S CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN
BY JULIE RYAN

Callie is an event planner, organising weddings and corporate parties. What she'd really love however, is to organise the perfect Christmas. How difficult can it be after all? She simply needs to get her divorced parents talking to each other, sort out a Christmas Eve wedding for the daughter of a millionaire and wait for her hunky, rich boyfriend to propose. What could possibly go wrong?

From the Christmas anthology - Exquisite Christmas - Gingerbread Dreams on Friday Snippets #FriSnippets

From the Christmas anthology - Exquisite Christmas - a snippet from the short story - Gingerbread Dreams.

Reese loosened her grip on the teacup handle and pasted a smile on her lips. The well-dressed, blonde reporter seated across from her droned on about how she'd always wanted to be a chef. The Foodie life looked so glamourous. And sexy.Glamourous? Sexy? Reese held back a snort. Burn marks on your inner forearms. Cuts on fingers. Splotches of icing decorating your face and white hair, not because of age, but because of flour. And the proverbial icing on the cake was stress. She cast a glance at a half-iced wedding cake that was due to be delivered in twenty-four hours. Reese cringed, remembering the unfinished order for sixteen dozen Christmas cookies. Not a good time to be interviewed. Maybe if she locked the reporter in the freezer… Mentally slapping herself, Reese took a sip of her chocolate tea. A curious emotion crossed the reporter's face. Reese stifled a teenage eye roll. Here it comes. The dreaded question. So, what made you want to become a pastry chef?

That gooey yummy eat by the spoonful out of the jar..... Thursday Thoughts #ThursThoughts

That gooey yummy eat by the spoonful out of the jar - Nutella.

Last week I rambled on about a new food love of mine - Cookie Butter. This week, I'll chat about a long time love affair food - Nutella.

It is a hazelnut/chocolate spread - like peanut butter - but this one is divine.
Nutella originated in Italy in the mid 1960s and it has been putting inches on people's hips ever since :-)

I once read that the Nutella company suspects a majority of their product is eaten directly out of the jar by the spoonful.  In my house it is.

The company hints at it's nutritional value in their commercials - that's a debateable point. Yes, it has a lot of sugar. But I snack on it when I'm stressed or depressed. I have a spoonful and life suddenly seems a little nicer.

I could go munch an entire chocolate bar or tub of ice cream - so a spoonful of Nutella is ok in my world.

Besides - some food is good for the body and some food is good for the soul.  Nutella is "soul" food.

And if you need a reason to celebrate - Feb 5 is Nutella Day!

On this week's Book Hooks - A Snippet from the newly release Exquisite Christmas #MFRWhooks #MFRWAuthor

From the newly released anthology of Christmas stories -a snippet from the short story - Christmas Knight

Tears trickled down Tamara’s cheeks as she leaned over the railing to peer at the Caribbean water. One paused at the edge of her chin, wobbled then dropped, mixing into the briny sea. She dug a crumpled tissue out of her pocket, blew her nose, and sighed.A toe-tingling whiff of aftershave wafted past her nose. She recognized the fragrance: wood smoke with a hint of evergreen. The intoxicating aroma belonged to the tall, dark haired, blue-eyed man she'd passed when the passengers boarded the Northern Lights cruise ship. She'd also caught a glimpse of him in the audience when she'd performed her evening's solo dance.

Hannah Meadows doesn’t believe in fate or destiny, or any of the other things people reach for when they lose control of their lives. That is, until a man arrives on her doorstep on Christmas Day begging for help. Hannah’s not the sort of woman to turn her back on someone in need, but this isn’t what compels her to aid the handsome stranger, nor is it his intense dark eyes, or the inexplicable feelings she quickly develops for him.

Something magical is coming her way, something that will turn her life completely upside down. Hannah Meadows may not believe in fate or destiny, but they seem to have other ideas… BUY LINKS AMAZON UK AMAZON.COM ABOUT TILLY TENNANT
Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset, the oldest of four children, but now lives in Staffordshire with a family of her own. After years of dismal and disastrous jobs, including paper plate stacking, shop girl, newspaper promotions and waitressing (she never could carry a bowl of soup without spilling a bit), she decided to indulge her passion for the written word by embarking on a degree in English and creative writing, graduating in 2009 with first class honours. She wrote her first novel in 2007 during her first summer break at university and has not stopped writing since. Getting into the holiday mood on Weekend Writing Warriors #8Sunday

Link back to Weekend Writing Warriors - www.wewriwa.com
For the month of December I am posting from a short Christmas story that is about to appear in a Christmas box set.  Christmas Knight takes place on a Christmas Cruise.
Tears trickled down Tamara’s cheeks as she leaned over the railing to peer at the Caribbean water. One paused at the edge of her chin, wobbled then dropped, mixing into the briny sea. She dug a crumpled tissue out of her pocket, blew her nose, and sighed.
A toe-tingling whiff of aftershave wafted past her nose. His brilliant eyes appeared to have glowed. Though, that could’ve been a trick created by the bright lights.

I currently don't have a cover or a buy link - so here is a Christmas picture to gaze upon. I think it's hilarious and my husband wants to decorate the house this way.  Le sigh!

What the hell else am I supposed to say? My Sexy Saturday #MySexySaturday #MSS120

Welcome to the 120thweek of My Sexy Saturday.
This week’s theme: A Sexy Galaxy
I can't match that theme. I'm a contemporary author. So instead here are 7 paragraphs from my NA contemporary romance- Circles Divided. The book is out of this world - lmao

Scene set - Julie has just failed at her first professional dance audition. She's kept it together until now.

Robert settled next to her, wrapped an arm around her shoulders and waited for the other shoe to drop. Silence filled the room. He bit back asking what the problem was. He'd let her explain it.Her shoulders shook as she sniffed. With teary eyes, she glanced at him. "Why didn't they accept me at the dance audition? You said, the others said I was good. Well I'm not. I suck." She turned, threw her arm over his shoulder and buried her face in his chest.Yes! It's not something I did.He squeezed her tighter. "I think ya dance great."She knocked her forehead on his sweatshirt. "You don't know anything about dance. You made me do it. I hate you for it.""I'm sorry.""It's all your fault.""I'm sorry." What the hell else am I supposed to say?

Is the love of a girl from wealthy Westland and a street punk from the slums of the Shore strong enough to surpass all that life will throw at them and forge a life together? Is Julie willing to sacrifice her childhood dream of becoming a professional dancer for the man she loves? Is Robert willing to lay down his ties to the gang in order to hold onto his new found love?
Sacrifices must be made, but will they be enough?

Sacrifices must be made, but will they be enough? Friday Snippets #FridaySnippets

From book 2 of Circles Trilogy - Circles Divided - NA contemporary.
Scene set - Julie talks to Robert about a deep pain in her life.

In the warmth and light of the kitchen, Julie removed her raincoat, hung it up and tossed the keys on the counter. "I unpacked your stuff from my suitcase. It's on your bed. There's some pizza in the fridge. Come to my room when you're ready." She turned and scooted upstairs.Robert followed, passing her closed door and entering his room. Knocking the pile of clothes off the bed, he changed in to a dry sweatshirt and jeans and left everything else in a lump in the centre of the floor. Back in the kitchen, while the pizza heated, he scoured the fridge for a cold beer, but had to settle for a Coke. When he'd eaten, he sat staring at the table. He didn't want to go upstairs and confront Julie. He couldn't figure out what he could have possibly done wrong. He rubbed his face. Man up, dude, and get this over with. With a big sigh, he headed to Julie's room.Julie sat on her window ledge watching the rain stream down the glass. "Come hold me, please."Robert settled next to her, wrapped an arm around her shoulders and waited for the other shoe to drop. I hate you for it.""I'm sorry.""It's all your fault.""I'm sorry." What the hell else am I supposed to say?Between sniffles, Julie said, "I feel so alive when I'm lost in my dancing. Why didn't they take me? You said they would." Her sobs quieted while Robert held her. Her breathing slowed. She'd fallen asleep in his arms.

Is the love of a girl from wealthy Westland and a street punk from the slums of the Shore strong enough to surpass all that life will throw at them and forge a life together?
