Give*Away! An ARC of Accidental Love (Hot Bods 3)

Picture I just glanced at my calendar and it's almost release day! I can't wait for Ben and Jane's story to be live. And in this book, if you like older men ... this is for you. Ben is in his mid-forties while Jane is in her late twenties.

In honor of my release on Monday, I'm having a giveaway! Today (6/15) - Sunday (6/17), you can leave a comment here for your change to win Accidental Love before it releases this Monday.  Blurb Has Jane accidentally fallen for the decoy?

Sometimes there is only one thing to do when you get dumped—make the ex jealous with someone new. Which is exactly what Jane plans to do with Ben, an older, handsome man who has agreed to act as her new love interest.

When Ben meets Toby, Jane's unruly dog, he offers to help her train him. But as Ben helps Jane gain control of her dog, he realizes he's lost control of his feelings, and he's beginning to fall for the much younger woman.

Suddenly, Jane can't seem to remember what she ever saw in her ex. All she can focus on is the way Ben makes her feel each time he kisses her. But now the ex has decided he wants her back, and he's willing to play dirty to make it happen.

Content Warning: Explicit sex

Excerpt Matt cleared his throat behind her. Jane's eyes widened in shock and she slowly slid her hands from Ben's neck, down his firm chest. She turned to face her ex-lover, and Ben's arm tightened around her waist, holding her close.

"Hi, I'm Ben." He extended his hand toward Matt.

Matt kept his arms crossed. He looked pissed, which was good, she hoped.

"Well, I'm off on my lunch break," she said.

"Don't be late, Jane. We have a staff meeting, so you'll need to be back to handle any gym members." Matt walked away, heavy footed.

Ben took her hand and led her outside to his car. As they reached the vehicle she expected him to drop the act, but instead he opened her door for her and then closed it once she was seated.

He climbed in and asked, "How long do you have?"

"An hour. Fast food is fine if you want to drop me off and then pick me up."

He chuckled. "I know a place where we can share a meal in under an hour."

"You don't have to eat with me."

"Jane, I want to."

The hour went much faster than Jane would have liked. Ben was a lot of fun and took his boyfriend duties seriously. He had opened her car door and held her hand. This was something she could easily get used to. She was going to tell him he didn't have to pretend when they were away from the gym but each time he touched her she was at peace. Was it wrong to have a crush on the decoy? Perhaps it was the George Clooney look he had going on. It was every girl's fantasy.

Ben parked in front of Hot Bods and quickly came around the side of the car and helped her out. Taking her hand in his again, he walked her back. She started to object and it was like he sensed it. Releasing her hand, he tugged her closer and wrapped his arm around her waist, cradling her to him.

They stopped in front of the door.

"I had a lovely lunch," he said.

"Thank you. Me too."

He stepped closer. She sensed what was coming next, and she was more than ready. He rubbed her cheek with the back of his fingers then tilted her face toward his. Leaning down, he gently brushed his lips across hers. She moaned and was almost embarrassed to be reacting this way. He kissed a small line to her neck and her mouth opened, still whimpering. She was lost in the sensation of his light kisses and forgot they were out in the open. She was so turned on that if they had been alone she would have let this man explore her entire body.

Ben released her face, and she was slightly disappointed it was over.

"Have a good day." He kissed her once more on the lips.

He'd kissed her speechless. She didn't say a word. Instead, she simply watched as the most amazing man she'd ever met headed across the parking lot toward his car.

He was good. Very good. Maybe that was why Francesca was always after older men. They really knew what they were doing.

Manic Monday

Picture This past weekend, I packed the kids up and we headed to visit my mother in law. And I decided to take advatage of it and use it as a writing vacation! I got a good bit done and I really thought I'd finally get Bare Necessities done, but its taken on a new life and going to be longer then I expected. But, that's okay. The way I see it, it means my writing is improving. And its always good to improve.

So what's on the agenda this week? Well, I'm taking another day for my vacation and writing today. Then, I have another round of edits on Bound By Pleasure, my BDSM novella that releases in August. And I also have to get guest posts and interviews done for two tours! Finding Home and Accidental Love.

Oh, and checking out the date. Accidental Love will release in 1 week! That's right, Jane's story is about to be available on your ereader. Which means once Bare Necessities is done, I must complete Opposites Attract, the very last book in the Hot Bods series.

Have a wonderful week!

Hope by and see Carrie Ann Ryan and Lia Davis.

Character Interview - Ryan from The Descendant by S.J. McMillian

Picture 1.       Tell us the name of the book you are in and a bit about it.

The book is called “The Descendant” and it tells the story of a young woman who is very dear to me, Katalina Deckard. In it, Katalina finds out that her ancestors had been some sort of protectors of humanity. Kat is a person. I’d do almost anything for her. We were together for a while, but sometimes thing don’t work out, and you just have to move on to the next girl.

2.       Where do you fit into the story?

I’m Kat’s ex. I know, the bad guy, right? No. I’m not the bad guy. I’m not even A bad guy. But I get more of a role in the story than I’m comfortable with, actually.

3.       Did you ever think your life would end up being in a book?

Yeah, actually I did. In high school I was voted “Most Likely to Appear in a Novel or a Series of Short Stories”. And yeah, I can see the draw of adding me to any tale. Every story needs a little clever testosterone.

4.       What do you like to do when you’re not being actively read?

I stay in shape, get a lot of mirror time, and meet more women by having the girls I’m dating introduce me to their friends.

5.       Are you currently in a relationship?

I am. I’m in at least one relationship…

6.       What is your least favorite characteristic the author has attributed to you?

I’m not really comfortable with how my life and storytelling have been characterized as boring. No, it’s quite exciting. In fact, I was just telling some of my closest friends how exciting my life is earlier today.

7.       And the most favorite?

She was spot on about how into myself I am.

8.       Do you have any secret aspirations that your author doesn’t know about?

Yes I do. I actually have some independent business dealings I haven’t told anyone about. They stand to be fairly lucrative. But, the market being what it is, I’m not going to go into all my wheelings and dealings. Information is capital, and I’m going to hold onto mine.

9.       How do you see your future?

I know that “up in the air” is cliché. But my future is. Really, I see myself as the guy who tries to convince everyone that he’s going to save the day, and then does in fact save the day.

10.   Do you know the authors plans? Can we expect to see you in future stories?

I don’t know the authors plans exactly. But I’m thinking, why would she want to have me interviewed if I’m not going to be in other stories? Am I right? Of course I’m right.

11.   If this book was made into a movie, who would you want to play you, and why?

Jude Law or the Robert Downey Jr. of ten years ago. Both of them come somewhat close to how much onscreen charm I would have if I got to play myself.

Menage or not? Three's A Crowd by Ella Jade #eroticromance

Picture Three's A Crowd is a highly erotic, short (a little over 3k) tale about a fun, sexy, contemporary couple. If Ella Jade is a "new to you author", this novella is a great way to get to know her. The book is an Amazon exclusive published through Ruby Lioness Press. It’s a quick, steamy read priced at $0.99 and free to Prime Members. It is a perfect pool or beach read.

***

Connor Hughes is a lucky man. Janine and Sierra, the two sexy women who live downstairs from him have invited him to watch their intimate time in the bedroom. Connor is a willing spectator, but can't believe it when Janine asks him to join in on the fun. Connor is drawn to Sierra in ways he'd never imagined. There is something very familiar about the dark-haired beauty that has him wondering why she calls to him.

When fantasy mixes with reality, Connor gives into temptation in more ways than one. Will he figure out who Sierra is to him? Can the feeling last all night?

Excerpt (Adult Content)
"Wake up, baby."
This has been one fucked up ride.He opened his eyes to find Sierra straddling him. He blinked a few times, trying to focus and get his bearings. They were in their bedroom. He must have missed the alarm. The sunlight streamed in through the blinds and he could smell the coffee brewing from the kitchen.
"Time to wake up, sleepyhead."
“Huh?”
She was naked and stroking his cock. His favorite way to wake up.
“Baby, you were having some dream.” She giggled. “I didn’t even do anything to you yet and you’re rock hard.”

Manic Monday Updates

Picture Its Monday! Though, with it being summer vacation and the kids are home, it feels like just another day. This being Monday doesn't have the same effect it does when the kids are on the bus and I have a quiet house to just write. Which, is only happening a few days a week right now, but its fine ... since I wasn't writing for so long.

Today, my month long tour for Finding Home kicks off! Its been awhile since I have done a tour, so I'm excited. I really love this story and I hope readers do also.

I am getting prepared for my release on the 18th, Accidental Love (Hot Bods 3). I wish I could say the 4th and final was written and in edits for my readers, but with the move, it only half-way done.  So, I don't have a release date yet, or really any news, other then its Francesca's story and she is going to have work hard to prove to the man that she loves him!

To start your Monday right, pop by my first tour spot. There is a giveaway!http://closeencounterswiththenightkind.blogspot.com/2012/06/giveaway-and-guest-post-by-lacey-wolfe.htmlAfter that, go see Carrie Ann Ryan and Lia Davis!

Please welcome, Nana Malone

Picture 1.       Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m a Ghanaian American romance author who currently resides in sunny San Diego with Hubster, Bratlette, and Wonder Dog.  I primarily write sexy superheroes paranormals and sexy interracial contemporaries.

2. What genre do you write?

I write in Paranormal Romance and Contemporary Romance.  I’ve got a YA or two brewing too.

3. Please tell us about your latest release Sexy in Stilettos and how you came up with the idea?

For me Sexy was so fun to write.  Jaya is probably the character that’s most like me.  She’d hyper-organized and loves her plans and has no idea what to do when life throws her a curveball.  My husband, though, an engineer, is far more spontaneous than I am.  So I started wondering what would happen if you paired someone like me with an extreme opposite fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants kind of guy.

4. Is it part of a series?

Sexy is the first of the In Stilettos series.  Sultry will be next and Sassy will be early next year.

5. A must have snack while you write.

Dairy Milk chocolate bars.  If I’m lucky and made it to the British shop, I prefer the one with Hazelnuts J

6. A fact that someone might not know about you.

I used to be a state track and field champion.  Many many many…well a long time ago.

7. If you had to choose a favorite book that you’ve written, which would it be?

Nooo.  You can’t make me pick just one.  They’re all special in their own way.  Wait now, I sound like that mom who says she loves all her children equally.  Lol.  We all know she has a favorite.  If you twisted my arm, I’d have to say Reluctant Protector simply because I’ve always wanted superpowers.  But Sexy in Stilettos is so dear to me because Jaya is the most similar to me.

8. Advice to writers who have yet to be published.

Don’t you dare give up and write your ass off like your future happiness depended on it.

9. Is there a genre you haven’t written yet that you want to?

YA.  I’ve got a couple of stories brewing, but they’re not ready to be written yet.  When they are, they’ll pop into my head and refuse to leave until I evict them.

10. Any quirky habits?

When I’m writing? The only really weird tick is I have to follow my plan.  If I know I’ve got edits on one book an outline for another and a spew draft of another, I have to follow the plan.  If I deviate, I get pretty overwhelmed then give up and watch Bravo for more hours than can possibly be healthy.

Other than writing, I have too many to recount, but my husband says I apparently sleep with my eyes partially open.

11. Have you written a character that most resembles you?

Jaya for sure.  God I hope I’m not that crazy, but she’s most similar to me.

12. What type of hero do you enjoy writing about?

Erm, sexy ones!  Lol. In all honesty someone I would want to have a conversation with.  So witty and sharp and quick.  Of course a pretty face and six pack abs don’t hurt. *shrug* You need something to picture when you write a love scene ;)

13. What are you currently reading?

Well I literally just finished The Hunger Games, I’m anxiously awaiting the next JR Ward novel

14. What are you currently working on?

Next in line is Forsaken Protector, the sequel to Reluctant Protector, then comes Sultry in Stiletttos, the sequel to Sexy.

15. Anything that you’d like to share.

Spotlight - LW Herndon - The Mark of Kane

Picture
My name is Thaddeus Kane. I exist in Los Angeles, the city known for the hustle of Hollywood, an average 266 days a year of sunshine, and smog.

That’s not my L.A. I operate under the mantle of the city as a troubleshooter for the demon clan who saved my life. Not a bad job if I can stay alive, but I have my limits. I refuse to risk innocents, which causes me problems. That one line I won’t cross for anyone. Loyalties—I have them. I’m pretty sure none of my associates would approve of my particular choices.

Human sorcerers are murdering my clan to harness superpowers and I’m the only one capable of finding the evil. A tough assignment, made harder by my secret alliance with a rival demoness to save prophetic teenagers from the same horrible fate. I’m all they’ve got.

LW Herndon is a pseudonym for the author of the Thaddeus Kane urban fantasy novels and the Declan
Other Realm young adult urban fantasy tales. More information on LW Herndon and future books can

Manic Monday

Picture Its Monday, yet again. This day always seems to come. And today, I have a full head of me. I have work to get done for Sizzling PR and a book to complete. Though, the book won't be complete today, my goal is by the second week in June. Up until last night, with the move and all things associated, my creativity was zapped. But finally, last night I re-read what I had and added 3,000 words to Bare Necessities. Yay!

Bare Necessites is under contract with Ruby Lioness Press and will also be part of the Clearwater series, like Finding Home. This is going to be a cleaner romance also. Though, from the story line, you'd never guess. Ava Miller (Julie's cousin) has moved to Clearwater to start over and open a lingerie shop. Only, the town sheriff, Ryan Ryder wants to run her out of town. If only it was that simple. Ava is a hot italian and Ryan is incredibly drawn to her.

I'm having a lot of fun writing this one. These two are always fighting, so once they finally just give in and admit their feelings, its going to be fireworks!

So, that's this week. Once I get Bare Necessities done, its Oppostites Attract (Hot Bods 4), and the sequel to Sarah's Chase. Busy summer ahead!

Be sure to stop by and see Carrie Ann Ryan and Lia Davis for their Manic Monday updates as well.

How much promo is too much?

The question on most authors mind is, am I promoting too much or too little? Will tweeps hate me if I tweet about my books to much? How many posts a week can I put on facebook about my work before people get annoyed?
I wish I had the answer to this. When it comes to twitter, I think as along are you aren't just a promo tweeter, you're good. Seriously, something you tweeted twenty minutes ago, most likely will not be seen by someone who logs in right now. Not unless they go to your profile. Twitter is fast paced. Most weeks, I get on tweet deck and schedule some book related tweets to go out twice a day. There are times I get carried away and do this for several books a day and get worried it is too much. I will become that tweeter we all have in our streams. And I like to think that my other clever tweets during the day will make up for it. Who knows? I'm sure I annoy someone. But, this isn't a weekly thing either. I forget...a lot to schedule tweets. Though, when I do remember, I see sales.
Which brings me to this point. My income currently is to sell my books. I don't have a day job. The only income I contribute to my family is from the sales of my books. So, why wouldn't I push it some? If I don't, the husband will be kicking me out soon to get a 'real' job as he calls it.
We just need to be conscious as to how much promoting we do. Let's be honest, tweeting every hour on the dot about your book is to much. Tweeting in the morning or evening to reach readers when they are home, not a problem. If you have say, ten books out, don't tweet each day about them. Now when it comes to facebook, its different. Honestly, I don't do to much promo on there, except when my books first release to let readers know. Facebook is a whole other world from twitter. No one likes their stream flooded with multiple posts from the same person. My opinion, keep it fresh on facebook. Got a giveaway going on, mention it in the beginning and a reminder before it ends.
I am no promo expert at all. I am leaning day by day. But, this was on my mind today. So, I just though I would share my two cents. Sell your books, just don't over sell yourself.

Finding Home (Clearwater Series) #romance #contemporary

Available Now! Picture
An unexpected pregnancy brings Julie Miller home to Clearwater, Wyoming to get guidance from her mother. But when she returns to the home she grew up in, her mother isn’t there. Instead Julie finds Mark Thomas, who is renting the house while her mom travels the country. If that isn’t bad enough, a blizzard hits the town, keeping her locked in with the hunk who happens to have a secret of his own, which Julie just has to know.

Excerpt:
The sun shined brightly through the windows. Julie wished now she had noticed the blinds were open last night. Pulling the sheets over her face, she closed her eyes for a few more minutes as she tried to wake up.

Finally, after battling with herself, she climbed out of the bed. She put her jeans back on and then pulled her hair up in a ponytail. A sudden urge to use the restroom took over, and she rushed toward the bathroom. This was something new—no bladder control. She didn’t expect to already have to pee so much.

She quickly brushed her teeth then made sure everything was tidy as though she hadn’t been there. Grabbing her suitcase, she left the room. She expected to find Chloe up front, but she was nowhere to be seen. So she stopped by the front desk and scribbled a note, thanking Chloe for the stay and saying they would talk soon. After all, she was going to need someone during this process. As young girls, she and Chloe had always gotten along.

Outside, the sun was bright. There was a chill to the air, however. The few clouds in the sky were thick and fluffy. She bet there would be a light snow shower before the day was over. In fact, she was surprised to not see any snow on the ground yet. It would be anytime now.

The drive to her mother’s house was short. She lived on the older side of town, and it was unchanged except that the trees had gotten taller.

Julie was excited to see her mom. It had been almost a year since she’d seen her. Julie had flown her out last Christmas to visit her in New York City. She’d taken her mother everywhere, showing her every tourist spot there was to see. Her mother had loved it and said it had always been a dream of hers to travel. Julie hoped one day her mother would get to. Her father had died about ten years ago, and her mother had never remarried. She had a few close friends, though, and maybe one day they would all get together and travel.

But for now, Julie needed her mom. She couldn’t wait to have her mother embrace her and hold her tight, telling her it would all work out.

She pulled up to the house. It looked the same. A small ranch-style home painted a light blue color. It was time for a fresh coat of paint, that was sure. Perhaps she could get someone out here in the spring to spruce the place up. Her mother’s car wasn’t in its usual spot but instead pulled over near the picket fence. A pick-up truck sat where the car was usually parked. Maybe something was wrong with the vehicle, and she was borrowing the truck.

Climbing out of the car, Julie could smell bacon. A smiled crossed her face. Her mom was cooking breakfast. Shutting the car door quickly, she went up the front steps two at a time. As she turned the doorknob, she found it locked. Groaning, she dug through her purse until she found the key to the house and let herself in.

Loud music blared through the house. It was set to a local country station. This was so unlike her mother. In fact, as Julie looked around the living room and saw how untidy it was, she wondered if she was in the right house.

Following the smell of food, she stepped into the kitchen. Julie froze. A half-naked man stood at the stove, flipping pancakes. It was as if he sensed he was no longer alone. He turned, and Julie thought she was going to faint.

“Hi,” the man said.

“Who the hell are you, and where is my mother?” Julie demanded.
