Lesson from Heaven #9

Crooked PathsToday I offer a simple prayer. Prayer is a powerful tool that enables us to draw upon the Lord’s power. In heaven, I don’t remember seeing anyone pray but ever since my Near Death experience I have understood, in ways that defy description with words, the incredible power and lifeline that prayer can be in our lives. I know that God hears and answers every sincere prayer. And, although those prayers are not always answered with the answer we want or in the time frame we desire – they ARE ALWAYS answered in a way that is best for our personal growth. God’s throne may be billions of light years away but His love and awareness of us is with us every breath that we take. Every heart felt prayer opens our Creator’s door and makes possible His assistance.

What I Learned In Heaven #8

LightintheWorldSaying that God is your Father is not the same as knowing deep in your heart of hearts that you truly are a child of God – that He created you and that, as a result, you are a part of Divinity yourself. I believe that most of God’s children would be awed and amazed by the depth of Love and Reverence that our Creator has for us. He truly cherishes and adores us and His efforts and desire to assist us is beyond mortal comprehension. We have, within each of us, a connection to God’s light and love. Our willingness (or unwillingness) to know God and to know who we truly are is like a dimmer switch. The more we seek for God and His truth, the brighter the light and love within us becomes. As we come to know who we truly are and who our Creator truly is, our internal light shines brighter and brighter – bringing peace and joy into our lives and providing greater light and love in the world around us.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

LoveI love Valentine’s Day! Not because it is the only day that I get gifts and attention from my sweetheart but because it has become a day in which I always find myself reflecting on how incredibly blessed I am to have a man in my life who treats me with love and respect everyday. I know that is not a blessing everyone enjoys and I do not take it for granted. Whatever your life circumstance – I hope that you too receive much love daily. If that is not circumstance you find yourself in, remember that God loves you and desires for you to be happy! Happy Valentine’s Day…maybe we should make that Valentine’s Year!

What I learned in Heaven #7

Burned or RefinedAs I was shown my life as it would transpire, it was made clear to me that my choices would be what dictated the final outcome – the life that I ultimately would have. The life I was shown was the life I would have if I chose to depend on God and use my Savior’s assistance. It was not a life free of sickness, pain or difficulties. It was, however, the life that ultimately would assist me in becoming the best me possible. Many times as I met with the Father of my Soul – I was reminded that I would need to “Remember Him”. I was promised that as long as I “Remembered Him”, I would succeed. Remembering Him does not remove all of the pain or challenges in my life – but it clearly makes the difference as to whether I bloom and grow or wither with resentment and bitterness. Life was never meant to be easy – it is meant to teach and improve us. So when you are faced with a difficult challenge in life, remember the choice is yours whether you get burned or whether you become refined by the experience – the key is in “Remembering Him”.

What I Learned in Heaven #6

Perfect RecipeBefore my Near Death experience, I never even imagined how perfectly planned our lives were. When you see the difficulties that are a natural part of life, it is easy to see how we might think life is less than perfect. The world in which we live is not perfect but the plan that was made for each of us in heaven is perfect. Each of us are an important and known piece of that plan. A plan was made for each of us and that plan’s purpose was to create in us the best possible us that we could possibly be. God prepared us and has given us all that we need to be a successful part of that plan – now our part is to participate in that plan by making God a part of our lives, trusting in Him and exercising our faith!

What I Learned in Heaven #5

Measure Up

Besides the incredible feelings of love and joy I felt in heaven – what I miss the most is the climate of support and acceptance that presides there. There were NO comparisons. Though everyone did not share the very same talents and aptitudes – we were filled with a glorious sense of self-worth and we were blissfully supportive of each other. As I became aware of my talents and aptitudes (which were immense for all of us), I did not feel any sense of superiority or conceit. Instead, I was thrilled that I had been so richly blessed and that those abilities which were mine could be used to assist the Father of my being whom I loved and adored with such fervency. I was equally thrilled to recognize the strengths and abilities that others had been blessed with. Regardless of what capacities and gifts each of us had been given, we truly honored and revered each other. I came to know that believing in ourselves is a positive quality – it is only when we believe ourselves to be superior or that we fail to recognize God’s part in our accomplishments and abilities that that belief becomes a negative.

What I Learned in Heaven #4

Life is Eternal#4 I learned that we are Eternal Beings. We existed long before we took our first mortal breath. We had experiences and were amazing beings in that realm we call Heaven. I also saw our efforts to prepare for mortality. Yet, though mortality would be vitally important, it would be just a piece of our existence. Just as we had existed prior to mortality – we would continue to exist when we took our last mortal breath. In heaven, we saw birth as the event which would begin our sojourn into mortality and death as the event which would enable our return to our beloved Father. Neither event was viewed as difficult – the important thing was to make wise use of our time on earth and to live our lives in love and service.

#1 Truth: God is Real

The very most important thing I learned from my near death experience is that God is real. That may seem trite but I know that not everyone knows that fact let alone believes that fact. I saw Him. I conversed with Him. He held my hands as He sat with me and He taught me. He knew  knew my weaknesses and He knew my strengths and despite it all, He had confidence in me. His love was perfect and He was perfect. As I gazed into His face – I knew it so well that I wondered how I could have ever forgotten that face that I loved and knew so well. God is real and His love for us is real as well!
