The Mas in Christmas…
Christ is truly central to Christmas. Without Him – where is our reason to celebrate? When I think of all of my blessings – each one comes as a result of Christ, his birth, his life, his example and his atoning sacrifice. It is my hope to live each day of my life in a way which would cause Christ to celebrate!

The Star…
I love what the star signified when it announced the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. What a truly wonderful and humbling gift came with that star.

A Christmas Reminder…
This year, I have had to make a special effort to make sure that my frame of mind is in the right place. So many things going on – good things, busy things but things that can easily make my life so “crazy” busy that I start losing the true spirit of Christmas. Every time I spend a little time in personal prayer I am reminded that I am meant to do much with my life but I am not meant to turn my life into a one woman circus. I am grateful for that gentle reminder I am provided with several times a day!

Here’s My Christmas Wish!
As we are all involved in preparations for the biggest Holiday of the year – Christmas, I tend to get a little (okay maybe a lot) reflective about the true meaning of Christmas. Somehow, when it is over and done, I never feel that I have filled Christmas with enough of the true spirit of Christmas. If I could have the wish of my heart – it would be that each and every day we would each pause and reflect on the true gift that our Savior is to us. His is a gift that has and will always triumph over any other gift that we might receive. For that, I want to be grateful – not only during the month of December but on each and every day that I draw breath with my mortal body.

Blessings…
At this time when our thoughts, minds, and hearts are full of the blessings that we enjoy – I am reminded over and over again of where all of my (our) blessings come from. Even in those dark, difficult moments in which I could not feel God’s presence or His love – He was there. He is always there blessing me, instructing me, helping me, and loving me. I know that He is always there for you too! May we always reach out to our Creator in love and Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Dear Child of Heaven…
I am often reminded of the contrast of values between heaven and earth. I observed in Heaven that our ability to love, developing our talents and gifts, and providing service to each other and our Creator were of greatest worth. We often see the world around us embrace status symbols, personal entitlements, wealth and power. This life is short and it is important. Embracing the world’s standards will never bring us the joy and satisfaction that we innately desire. (After all, our spirits have been around a lot longer than our mortal bodies.) I believe that in our hearts we all know what it most important. However,  placing the right things in the right perspective and then living accordingly is not as easy in mortality where temptation surrounds us. The atmosphere of God’s truth and love that prevails in heaven was a much easier environment for us to thrive in. Yet, as we lean on our Creator’s wisdom and love – it can be done here too!

Let Gratitude Enable Your Ability to Soar!
I am always saddened by others who habitually feel sorry for themselves…not because they usually don’t have good reasons for their “blues” but because my experience has taught me that their lives would significantly improve just by taking the time to recognize their blessings. No matter how difficult our lives are, I know that we each are blessed! I believe that searching for and recognizing our blessings enables us to feel the strength of God with us more abundantly… that in itself is a wonderful blessing!
