Coincidence…
I no longer believe in coincidence. After witnessing our Creator’s perfection and seeing the extensive preparations that were made in heaven to plan each and every life that would come to earth – I simply believe in God’s micromanagement.

Investing In the Lord…
Investing our time in coming to know our Lord is the most fruitful free investment that I am aware of. Nothing is better for creating a life of joy, fulfillment, and meaning. The best part about it is that our investment provides dividends not just for ourselves but for our families and everyone around us!

Father’s
Any male can “Father” a child but being a Father is different. Being a real Father is a lifelong, loving commitment that a man makes. Real father’s are a blessing to their families and to the world. If you have a “Real” dad, make sure you tell him thank you and express your love and appreciation!

The Lesson that Near Death Experiences Teach…
I believed in God before my near death experience but though my belief in God had already been a constant in my life – I returned from heaven understanding that there is nothing more important than my relationship with God. Additionally, I walked away from my experience with a profound understanding of the preciousness of life and the importance of accomplishing my personal mission – that unique mission that I (like all God’s children) committed to prior to my birth.

Our Choices Matter…
One thing a trip to heaven can educate you about very quickly is the importance of our choices. Every choice builds who we are and what we become. Prior to this life, we all wanted to be like God and to choose goodness. This life is our opportunity to follow through with those choices!

Life is a Perfecting Experience
My near-death experience taught me many things but one of the things that has affected me most profoundly was seeing the true devotion and desire we had, prior to mortality, to become like our Father in Heaven. Words cannot adequately express how intently we wanted to become like Him. We dedicated ourselves to creating lives that would best assist us in that endeavor. I believe that we all innately know that our experiences are meant to teach us. What I think we all too often forget is that knowledge, intelligence and wisdom do not come in one profound experience but become layers of our being as we progress through the experiences of life. As we allow it, life truly becomes a perfecting event – step by step.

Experiences…
I have friends and family members who have chosen to be the victims of their lives. I have thought a lot about adversity and its potential to influence our lives. No one will escape from adversity in their lives. Yet, I believe that the tragedy does not lay in the difficult experiences we will encounter but in the soul choosing to be a victim rather than choosing to find the lesson contained in that experience and then allowing the Atonement to enable our victory.

Always Remember Your Blessings!
It is always more difficult to remember my blessings when I am in the thick of those things that wear me thin. However, I have found that as I work to recognize my blessings – both in good times and in bad, that I can more easily feel God’s strength and assistance with me. There are always blessings to be found. There are always things to be thankful for!

Becoming As a Little Child…
Small children are such an example to us! I can never watch a small child and not relearn what the Savior taught us about becoming as a small child. Their moments of anger are over quickly, their willingness to love is contagious and though they may become frustrated, they are always willing to push on and keep learning! What a world we would create if we did the same!
