Christmas Approaches
As Christmas approaches, I am reminded of the foreknowledge that prophets of old had of our Savior. His divine destiny was known – his mission foretold. Having visited the Heavenly realm since I took my first mortal breath, I am ever grateful that, because of my Savior, I have a chance to return. Never have I experienced such glory, awe and inspiration as i did during my brief visit there. The birth of Jesus Christ was the first step in that series of events in which He voluntarily made possible our reunion with our God, the Eternal Father. His gift of the Atonement is truly the most precious of all gifts that we have or ever will be given.

Challenges
Life has its difficult moments (years??) no matter who we are or where we come from. Some of us will be challenged by health, relationships, family, friends, work and some of us will be challenged by something else – the constant is that we will all be challenged. Without those experiences, we lose that precious commodity called growth. We all love growth once we have it and few of it appreciate it while it is occurring. If life has taught me anything (and it has taught me some incredible things), it has taught me that when I make God a part of those difficult moments, the difficult moments become more bearable and even easier. I am grateful for my Creator – He truly knows just what I need and how to succor me in those very most difficult of moments of my life.

World
It doesn’t matter who we are or where we live, what our occupation is or the balance of our checkbook. Our lives and we are made better when we trust in the Lord and not only know of Him but Know Him. We are truly like seeds that, when planted in the rich fertile soil provided by our Savior’s Atonement, can’t help but produce abundance, love, and incredibly joyful personal growth!

Bruised and Broken
It seems like my “bruised and broken” days come in avalanches. I am an incredibly blessed woman. I have a wonderful husband who reciprocates my adoration for him. I have a wonderful family that I am in touch with daily. I have a warm roof over my head and food so plentiful that I have to “worry” about eating too much rather than wonder where my next meal is going to come from. Yet, in all of my humanness, I have those days when I feel overwhelmed – when I wonder how I am going to find the energy and the wherewithal to face my “to do” list let alone accomplish it. It is in those moments that I am frequently reminded in the quiet recesses of my heart of how incredibly blessed I am. He who knows me and who knows my multiple weaknesses stands ready to assist me. Although I may be feeling feeble, inept and spent – I have a perfect personal coach cheering me on. Knowing just what I need to get to the next step because He already took it for me long ago. In this season of adoration for our Savior, may we each remember the priceless gift He provided by sacrificing His life for us and may we utilize the gift of personal guidance that He offers to us each day as a small token of our love and appreciation.

Prophecy
The more life (the Lord) teaches me, the more I come to know how critical my thoughts and my intentions are. Thoughts can be a difficult thing to corral at times but, with consistent practice, I find it gets easier. That consistency thing taught me a lesson this week. I make it a consistent part of my daily schedule to fit in some exercise. For a few weeks it just kind of seemed like I was going through the motions but not getting much in the way of positive results. (I was kind of hoping for a few pounds to disappear) Then my husband paid me a compliment and although I still hadn’t gotten the result I had hoped for, I realized that I was getting a positive result – even if all that resulted was that my body was benefiting through better health. Where we place our priorities is where we get our results. Making positive thoughts a priority opens the heart and the mind to a life of positivity and abundance!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends and family! You all are such a blessing in my life! On the very most difficult of days I am so richly blessed! It is my hope and my prayer that you are able to look at your life and your surroundings and feel likewise. For every smile I get to cherish, every hug I receive, every convenience I enjoy, each bite of food that feeds me, and more, I need to recognize the source of that joy and happiness. I am so very thankful for the Lord who shows me each day in so many ways that I am loved and that I am completely surrounded with blessings. I am grateful that the Lord has shown me the positive effect on my happiness that recognizing my blessings brings! May we all recognize and give thanks for the many many blessings that are ours!

Alone
We are entering a time, which on our calendars, is traditionally a time for gathering – the Holiday Season. I love the gathering and the time spent with family and friends. Yet, in this wonderful world of ours, there is an increasing tendency to let the voices of media drown out the true voice of the people individually and collectively. There are truths that never change regardless of what other voices may say. Those truths are of God. When we know and understand those truths, it is our duty and obligation to stand for and to do our best to preserve knowledge and understanding of those truths so that others may share in being blessed by those truths. No matter what the season, I hope that we will all stand firm for those principles and precepts that are eternal and of God.
