ad

Adonis Devereux is two people made one. He grew up in Michigan and in rural Indiana, a Midwestern boy with a passion for story. She was rootless, a Virginia native who lived in London, Paris, and Rome before her parents settled just outside Tokyo. Like him, stories burned in her.

They met in university at a poetry reading, and their love story continued into marriage, graduate school, and half a dozen children. Now he teaches at a Japanese national university, and she teaches children to invert fractions and decline Latin nouns, all while researching ancient Roman and medieval recipes for their novels.

Together, they are Adonis Devereux, and they’re proud to have published their entire line of Gilalion books with Evernight. They’re sad to say goodbye to the fantasy world that has cradled seven amazing couples, but they’re excited about moving on to a new line of books.

The Lotus Trilogy, 3

Konas Seranimesti was present eighteen years ago when the last Lotus in Arinport gave birth to twins, Soren and Sillara. Sillara was betrothed to Konas’s brother the day of her birth, and Konas has fallen in love with his brother’s promised wife.

But what can Konas do? Sillara is the daughter of a Lotus, and her life has been planned out in advance. She has never been allowed to choose anything for herself. But when her twin brother, Soren, who is himself feeling the pressures of his station, joins her on a desert hunting trip arranged by his best friend, everyone’s plans for Sillara are ruined.

Lost in the desert and assumed dead, Sillara is given choices for the first time in her life, but how can she choose a love she has never recognized? Will Sillara’s choice ruin Soren’s chance for love? And can Konas win a heart promised to another man?

Be Warned: public exhibition, anal sex, multiple partners, m/m sex, f/f sex, bondage, spanking, erotic asphyxiation

Excerpt

Soren had no more time to pursue his dark thoughts, for the shaking of the tambourines summoned everyone to the main tent. A male and female pleasure slave, clad in near-nothingness, stood at the entrance and greeted the revelers. Nathen gave Orien a light kick.

“Get up, sleepyhead. Delight calls.”

Orien groaned, squinted against the light, and rolled over. He rose, shook the sand from his massive, muscular frame, and stretched. His face broke into a wide grin. “Is it time to travel the marshes already?”

Soren nodded.

“Merieke brought plenty of herbs, so no one has to worry about bastards, so I am going to take one of the girls for myself. You all can fight it out over whoever’s left.”

Orien, Nathen, and Soren entered the tent and were carried along on waves of music, incense, and herbs. Soren watched as a slave crushed the petals of a purple flower in his hand and threw it into the brazier. Immediately he felt his mind slipping away to that thrilling realm of supreme carnal gratification. The slaves had some touch of their master, and though Konas was not here, his influence remained. Soren knew he was in for another unforgettable orgy.

Merieke came, too, and her natural beauty shamed the crafted appearances of the pleasure slaves. She wore nothing save her jewelry, and even her brothers turned and gasped at her arrival. Gold and malachite earrings dangled from her lovely earlobes, and a wide necklace of gold and silver fashioned in the likeness of two birds’ heads looking in opposite directions lay across the upper half of her breasts. Her lips were red as the ripest apples, and black wings of kohl rose from her eyes, giving her a cat-like look. Soren was almost convinced that she was purring. A belt of thin gold coins linked together hung on her hips, drawing his attention to her exposed and beautiful pussy. Clean. No hair. Just the way the Sunjaa liked it. But most magnificent of all was Merieke’s headpiece, an ornate black wig decorated with cold-worked glass of varying colors.

“Hello, boys,” she said.

No one responded, so stunned were the men by the sudden revelation of her charms.

Soren noticed that she held something in her hand, but whatever it was, it was small enough to be concealed in her closed fist. The only thing he could see was the long ribbon of silk that hung from her hand. It put him in mind of something fun, and with a grin, he walked over to a nearby casket and rummaged through its contents of toys in search of a blindfold.

Orien took one of the slave-girls and commandeered her. Due to Orien’s unpleasantly oversized cock, that was no more than Soren expected. That left two male pleasure slaves, one female, and Merieke.

Merieke walked over to Soren, reached up inside his skirt without breaking eye contact with him, and grabbed his cock. “It’s about time, don’t you think? We’ve known each other all our lives, and still we haven’t fucked?”

Soren untied his skirt and let it fall. “Well, I’ve been at sea.” He liked bantering with her.

Merieke’s eyes glowed. “From what I hear about what you sailors do to each other at sea, I’d say you’re more than ready to take what I’m offering.”

Soren grinned and ran his hands through his long hair, freeing any small tangles from his horns. “I’ll make your first time with an Ausir something to remember.”

Merieke went up on her tiptoes and kissed Soren’s mouth. “And I’ll make your first time with me unforgettable.”

Soren smiled back at Nathen, who nodded his approval. Merieke’s brother turned his attention toward a female pleasure slave, invited a male pleasure slave to join them, and moved off. Knowing that he was going to tell Sillara everything about this afterward, Soren resolved to thoroughly thank Merieke for her kindness in giving Sillara her first climax.

The part of Soren that was the attentive lover wished he had asked Nathen what kind of lover Merieke was, what she liked and disliked, and what she liked even if she did not know she liked it or just would not admit it to herself. But the other side of Soren, that adventurous side that liked a bit of a surprise, was glad to be sailing into uncharted waters. The sea had never looked more inviting.

Soren sensed that Merieke, in her excitement, wanted to lead, and he obliged her. He knew that some people dealt with their nervousness by overcompensating in matters of control. Soren could wait to assert himself; besides, he was happy to see what Merieke would do.

Merieke laid Soren down on a pile of soft pillows and leaned over him, arching her fingers in order to press her nails into his chest. Her hands played with Soren’s body, traveling over his shoulders, and down his muscular arms. She traced the wide wings of the proud falcon tattooed beautifully across his chest. She leaned in closer to play with the hair at the nape of his neck, and as she tousled his locks, she kissed his throat. Soren moaned and relaxed into the pillows. Merieke only used her left hand. Her right hand still held her secret.

The passion of Merieke’s kisses increased, and she, too, moaned as she rubbed her tits against Soren’s skin. Soren kneaded her breasts, ending each long caress in a pinch of her nipples. He breathed deep of the spices in the fibers of her wig, and his cock surged to life. In moments it was achingly hard. Merieke trailed her kisses across his collarbone and down his chest. She stopped at his nipple for a nibble, and Soren thrust his cock up into her stomach. The hard shaft slapped against her skin, and she looked up into his eyes and smiled.

Her kisses continued down to his navel, and there she paused to lick. With her left hand, she reached down and grasped Soren’s cock, working it in preparation for her tongue. She jacked him off against her throat, moving the head of his cock down her jawline and across her chin. Merieke’s tongue flicked out, almost touching it but not quite. Soren smiled at her game. Soon it would be his turn.

Without warning, Merieke devoured Soren’s cock, the pleasure of which caused him to suck in his breath and hold it. Her lips held his hard shaft against her ever-moving tongue. Her head bobbed up and down, and Soren groaned in pleasure to see his cock disappearing into the mouth he had wanted to fuck for so long. Merieke looked up into his eyes while she sucked. She knew exactly what to do.

But then something happened that surprised and impressed Soren, a man impressed by nothing where sex was concerned. Soren was so far more advanced than any of his lovers that no one had ever been able to catch him unawares in the bedroom.

Merieke did. As she sucked, she dropped both her hands below Soren’s legs so that her hands were out of sight. Soren knew she was up to something, but he could not guess what. Then he felt something cool against his asshole, and he looked down in surprise. Merieke managed to smile while still keeping his cock in her mouth.

Soren was open to anything, so he trusted Merieke to please him. So far she was doing an excellent job. He relaxed his asshole and let Merieke slip inside whatever she wanted to put there. Whatever it was, it was not very big. Not as big as a cock. And then a most pleasing vibrating sensation filled his back passage.

Friday Free For All: Evernight Teen Launches… Phoenix Rising

Phoe

Today I’m excited to talk about a new venture my publisher, Evernight is launching! Their shiny new Teen line! Their first release, Phoenix Rising is out today.

Summary

Every 300 years, the immortal Phoenix returns to Mono Lake to be reborn—but this time it didn’t return alone. The Nephilim are back in force, trying to keep it from being reborn so one of them can claim its immortality. But first they have to figure out who the Phoenix is—and any red-haired, green-eyed, seventeen-year-old in the area is fair game. And so, the killing begins…

Julie Mason doesn’t believe all this legend crap until she falls for Eli Sullivan, whose hallucination-inducing kiss not only saves her, but makes her the Nephilim’s prime target. But, it’s worth the risk. Her death is inevitable…not even Eli can prevent it. All she has to do is keep the Nephilim off Eli’s trail until The Rising. Once Eli is reborn and forgets his past life, Julie’s life is over, whether she’s dead or not. At least that’s what she thinks

Excerpt:

“That asshole flipped you the bird.”

Julie jerked her head up from the drinking fountain to find Kas Penemue towering over her.

“Wha-what?” She backed against the wall. The pounding of her heart amplified against the hard surface, shaking her body with each beat.

“Fredricks. He flipped you the bird. Want me to break his finger?”

“No!” The word gushed from her mouth, causing the heads of those nearby to swivel her way.

Kas chuckled and leaned his arm against the wall over her head.

“I’m just kidding, Julie. Chill.”

Julie inhaled slowly. The scent of peppermint wafted from his mouth, a pleasant smell that had a strange, calming effect on her.

“How did you know? That he did that, I mean.” Julie hadn’t noticed Kas in the classroom, and with his size, she would have had to be blind not to see him.

“I have my ways.”

Across and down the hall, Julie saw Eli Sullivan open his locker and grab a book. He turned his head in her direction and locked his eyes on hers. Why does he keep staring at me?

“Well, do you?”

Julie blinked and then looked up into Kas’s dark chocolate eyes.

“Do I what?”

Kas’s voice softened. “I asked if you wanted to go to a party with me tomorrow night after the game.”

Julie’s eyes shifted back to Eli. He had been joined at his locker by Charsey who was busy giggling and flipping her silky strawberry blonde locks over her shoulder. Charsey was a flirt, and she had the looks to get the job done. Eli Sullivan didn’t stand a chance. He would soon join Charsey’s long list of male conquests.

“Umm. Sure. I guess that would be okay.” Julie bit her tongue the moment the words came out of her mouth.

Kas took a step back and smiled.

“Great. Meet me by the gate after the game.” He jogged down the hallway.

Yeah, great. Julie could have kicked herself. How am I gonna get myself out of this one? Julie turned. Eli and Charsey were gone. In fact, the whole hallway was practically deserted. Julie glanced at the clock. She had less than a minute to get to her next class. She might make it if she ran.

The moment she turned the corner, she collided with someone, rebounding off a hard male chest and landing on her butt.

“Oh, man! I am so sorry!” A tanned, muscular hand was offered to her, the same hand that returned a discarded cigarette to her the day before. Julie looked up into the apologetic face of Eli Sullivan. At that moment, the second period tardy bell rang.

“Crap!” She slapped his hand away and hauled herself up. “Thanks a lot!”

Eli raised his hands in surrender. “I really am sorry, Julie. I—I just need to talk to you.”

Julie hesitated for a moment as his eyes met hers. They seemed to burn right into her, throwing her off-kilter, making her forget why she was so upset. She shook her head to realign her thoughts then pushed her way past him. “I’m late.”

Eli grabbed her arm, halting her retreat. “Please. This is important.”

Julie tensed her arm, ready to pull away, until she looked into his face. His sapphire eyes darkened with concern. Her heart thrummed as he pulled her closer, brushing his lips across her temple.

“What did he want?” Eli spoke barely above a whisper, his breath warm on her ear.

Julie tried to blink away the spots that suddenly clouded her vision. She could feel her heart beating in her throat and a red flag went up. This was not happening. She wouldn’t let it. This time she did pull away.

“What did who want?” Julie lifted her chin and exhaled, trying to calm her heart.

Eli’s eyes hardened. “Penemue. What did he want?”

Julie was totally confused. “What business is it of yours?” She backed away, and he grabbed her arm again. Gently, this time. Once again, his touch sent her heart into overdrive.

“I just think you should steer clear of him.”

Julie jerked her arm out of his hand. “Who do you think you are? My father?” She spun around and headed in the opposite direction.

“Julie!”

Julie stopped in her tracks.

“What?” she snapped.

“You’re gonna need a tardy pass.”

Crap!

Intrigued…. Head over here to purchase.

Mid-week Inspiration: Lighting Flashes

Inspiration is like lighting, it can strike at any moment, and I got thrown off my feet and onto my butt today. As a romance writer I find the questions about myself, and my work are sometimes the hardest to answer. It sounds silly, I suppose. I mean I write for a living. Still trying to condense your work into a few brief sentences can take ages. When people ask me to describe my style I go blank.

While working on a project with a very talented lady, I had an epiphany. I gave an explanation of my work I felt came from my soul.

I want my writing to read like a Baz Luhrmann film. Bright, Bold, engaging, with characters that burrow beneath your skin, into your heart, and rattle around in your brain for years. Sweeping, epic romances rooted in traditional story plots but made into something new and modern.

Just thinking about it feels me with excitement and renewal. I am so inspired! Have you ever felt that way? A moment when the stars seemed to align in the heavens and a realization hit you so profound you just sat there?

Friday Free For All : 2013 Kicks off with a Bang

Hey guys ,

Sorry this is coming in so late. I’ve been ripping and running all day. I know I said I wanted to make my life an adventure in 2013, but not quite like this. Went to Disney land with the family and my purse goes missing… Yeah you can imagine. It’s been a day of cancelling credit cards, getting id’s… ugh.

Today I wanted to do a bit of a survey, if you’ve a mine to oblige me. How many of you near the Southern California area, would be interested in attending an Author’s Meet and Greet over tea with your’s truly? I’m sure I’ve mentioned a million times I’m obsessed with British culture, shows, etc. Well I’m also a huge fan of tea.I frequent a pub that has a proper tea served with sandwiches, sweets, and your choice of tea brought to the table in a beautiful porcelain tea pot. It’s amazing. I’ve been thinking of hosting a tiny get together and thought I’d get your thoughts on it, because after all it is for you. :D

MidWeek Inspiration: Shiny, Bright, & New … year

Hey Colts!

I hope you all had wonderful holidays! I took a bit of a hiatus last week to celebrate them. It’s so rare I have my family all together for an extended period of time I had to. Mr. is a Marine and crazy hours have been a norm lately. :sniffs: I’ve was missing him something fierce last month. Now you guys may not know this but I am a theme a-holic. I admit it, no shame here. :raises: hands. I think everything has a season and usually there’s a reason why you gravitate toward one thing or another.

Which brings me to my topic today, New years. Things are shiny and new. It’s like a clean slate, and I mean, who doesn’t like a fresh start? My resolution was simple; make my life in 2013 a grand adventure. Having kids you realize how much of that magical awe you’ve lost over the years, my goal to get it back. There are many things I’ve longed to do and this year I aim to do many of them. The decision has filled me with excitement and is fueling me, pushing me forward into 2013.

Here’s a sneak peek of one of the many things I’m working on for you guys in 2013.When I was a teen I loved to belong to my favorite authors fan clubs. Do you remember that? You sent your name and address, and got back some swag, the latest updates, and opportunities to enter exclusive contests? Well yours truly is working on starting up her very own. I was inspired by so many things during my youth when it comes to writing. I’m ready to try to do them in my own way to sort of cement and celebrate being a writer. I truly do love what I do and I’m grateful I’ve been blessed and given the opportunity to live my dream. I want to make sure I do it to the fullest.

One more thing ! Do you like free books? I’ve started up Colt’s Review Crew. I’m looking for three wonderful people to read my books in exchange for honest reviews. Here’s the Link.

I’m curious to know, what resolution, if you any did you make? Have you all ready received exciting news about the new year?

Announcing the first release of the Napa Valley Naughtie...

ladies North Davis-20121220-00322 LadiesUncorked_MED

Announcing the first release of the Napa Valley Naughties by Sonia Hightower

Ladies Uncorked

There’s a reason the room on the ladies only wine tour is so cheap… There’s only one bed!

But it’s big enough for three…

Blurb:

Girls just wanna have fun and what better way to do that than a weekend wine tour? Rozella needs a break from caring for her mother and her friend Nicole is newly single and in need of a respite from her own troubles.

Their eagerness turns to mild dismay, however, when they discover they got a great deal on a fancy hotel room only because they’re apparently sharing a bed…a bed big enough for three. Will they make use of it? They may have a willing bedmate in the form of a sexy tour guide. But first, they must uncork their inhibitions.

Excerpt:

His gaze perused first Nicole, then Rozella, the glint in his eyes appreciative. Rozella busied herself pouring him a glass of wine. She willed her hands not to shake as she offered him the glass. “You’ve been left out of the festivities. I’m sure you’d like to make up for it now.”

He accepted the glass with a twitch at the corners of his mouth. “Yes, I assume I will.” He watched her as he took his first sip. Rozella saw the moisture of the wine on his lips and fought the urge to lick them. But then again, what was stopping her? Isn’t that what he was here for? Did they really want to waste time with their life stories?

As Nicole led him to the bed and sat down with him, her own wine glass in hand, Rozella decided not. They weren’t interested in life stories tonight. The sexual tension in the air was palpable.

She grabbed her own wine glass and gulped greedily, watching as Nicole set her own aside to place one hand on Blake’s thigh and one on his back, leaning in close. The whitish-gold liquid stung her throat and caused her eyes to tear. She wasn’t used to drinking so quickly, and the wine from Vespera’s was more potent than a store bought vintage.

Nicole and Blake were whispering to each other, smiles lighting their faces. Rozella set her glass down, grabbed the wine bottle, and approached them. She gestured to Blake’s empty glass as she held the bottle out. “More?”

“No.” He grinned, set his glass on the nightstand, and rose to stand before her. His chest was almost touching hers. Her nipples hardened beneath the material of her dress. “Maybe after,” he murmured right before he caught her mouth with his own.
