Review for Sucker for a HotRod By Joselyn Vaughn
Joselyn Vaughn reminds us that sweet romances are just as intense as those laced with eroticism with Sucker for a Hot Rod. The tale she spun and the love developed took me back to the days of first love. As it shows us what it means to get to know someone, warts and all , and still give your heart. The quirky cast of characters made me laugh out loud, and the love story created a realness that kept me captivated.
From the moment my eyes meet the first page I knew the lead heroine Judi was a woman I'd have for a friend. Loyal, down to earth, and independent she is embarking on a new stage in life. After the death of her Father and the fulfillment of her Degree in Education Judi is low on funds, Low on funds and attached to the Datsun that serves as her last link to her Father. When the car takes a sudden turn for the worst and refuses on a regular basis she' s in a bind. finds her way to Bryce. After all other venues are exhausted Judi is sent to our hero Bryce.
Bryce Halloway is the small town bad boy. With his handsome façade and love em and leave em reputation he's an unconventional choice for a love. He morphs before our eyes as Julie awakens a fire inside him and pulls out the man who hides behind his image. Stuck as the next in line to inherit the family owned tractor business Bryce is destined to man the ship of a boat he doesn't want to steer. The unwanted responsibility coupled with an overwhelming , yet lovable Mother and a stern Father he barley knows has soured him on the concept of love. His relationships status seems to be the one thing he can control. So he follows a strict one date policy.
He fools himself into believing the time spent with Judi is about the car, and helping her prepare for an upcoming derby race she's volunteered for. But it's evident to everyone else he wants to be her white knight on a steed , as he comes to her rescue time and time again. In turn Judi pushes him to peruse his true passion, restoring Hot Rods. Love is in the air, and we're on the edge of our seats as we wait for the stars to finally align. Their love is tested and almost lost when Bryce refuses to stand up for what he really wants. But in the end we receive a happy ending that's worth waiting for.
If you're looking for a sweet romance, with depth, well developed characters and a ton of humor this one is for you.

Devon and Julius are best friends, and have been betrayed. When a beautiful pirate captain takes them aboard with intentions to sell them to the highest bidder, the men make her an offer—they'll cater to her most intimate desires every night of the trip if she'll take them home
Today we're lucky enough to have D.F. Kriger, author of Sail My Oceans Stop by for a chat.
D, Can you tell us a little about youself?
I'm a stay at home mom with two wonderful kids. I'm married to the military and write erotic romance to help keep my sanity. Well that and to keep the voices at bay.
2. What inspired you to write your first book?
Technically, my first book was wrote in middle school for a contest called Young Authors. After winning too many years in a row, I was banned from the contest. I've written other books throughout my life, but Sail My Oceans was the first I'd wrote with the passion to get published at any cost.
3. Is there a message in your novel that you wantreaders to grasp?
Even the strongest women can fall in love. It doesn't mean giving ourselves or everything we own up. Sometimes it means just letting someone into our life.
4. I really loved your lead Lucy, where did you getthe concept for her?
My friend Mike, actually. We were speaking once on our heritage (mine is primarily Scottish while his is Irish). He is descended from a famous Irish pirate who was celebrated because she was a woman. Later that night I listened to Abney Park's "Airship Pirates" and the story just all clicked in my head.
5. In 200 words or less can you sum up Sail MyOceans.
What do you get when a female pirate captain buys two sexy men from a jail? A woman who's going to have the time of her life, of course!
6. If we looked at your to be read pile what wouldwe find?
Karen Marie Moning – Shadow Fever
7. What are your favorite movies and t.v.shows?
I'm addicted to Animal Cops. I also like Face Off on the Scy-Fy channel. Other than that, I don't really watch TV. As for movies… Practical Magic, Mists of Avalon, and Avatar hold a special place in my heart.
8. During your childhood what was your favoritecomic character?
Conan the Barbarian!!!!
9. If you could pick one actor to portray your leadcharacters, from this book, on the big screen who would it be and why?
Uh, *shifts from foot to foot uncomfortably*… So have I ever mentioned one of my greatest faults is not knowing actors worth anything?
10. Other than writing, what do you like to do inyour spare time?
I collect journals, like a crazy person. The only thing that saves me is the fact I actually use them. I also volunteer for the SPCA as a foster parent, play video games, and drool over motorcycles.
I just wanted to say thank you to D.F. for stopping by and letting me pick her brain.
