“Thank you for walking me home, Lieutenant.” She glanced around as if to ensure no one saw them. They were both taking risks being together.

“Why don’t you come inside for that beer you were craving?” She held the door open for him.

What? He shook his head, unsure if he’d heard her correctly. “You’re inviting me in?”

“Yes, Lieutenant.”

His heart raced as he followed her through the doorway. He glanced around at her modest home. Safer than staring at her ass. The kitchen table and couch would be perfect places to take her. Heck, he’d even do her against the wall or on the floor, but the biggest challenge was the room behind the door. Her bedroom.

Shit! What was he thinking? She’d only asked him in for a beer, right?

“Lieutenant, what kind?”

“Huh?”

“What kind of beer would you like?” She wiggled two brown bottles in front of him.

He grabbed the light lager and cracked it open. “Since I’m in your house, you should at least call me Dare.”

Her lips hinted at a smile, as if she’d suddenly become shy. “And you can still call me Colonel Jones. Let’s go sit down.”

He followed her to the couch and sat beside her, thinking of all of the positions he could get her in. God, why did she make him so horny?

“Dare, you need to put that thing away. I am your senior officer.”

Had she really said that? He’d felt his cock pressing against his pants but hadn’t realized it was that obvious. “You were looking?”

#MidWeekTease: He was anxious to kiss her sweet lips in Alien Attraction #scifiromance #book

Happy Wednesday! It’s time for Mid Week Tease. For today’s post, I’m sharing an excerpt from Alien Attraction.

Setup: Chal, an alien, is on his first date with his next door neighbor. They are watching a movie where the main character falls in love with an alien. Angela doesn’t know about his heritage, so the questions at the beginning of this tease are hypothetical. 

“What about you? Could you fall in love with an alien?”

She smiled, her body relaxing again. “I am absolutely sure I could.”

“What about a regular human being?” Slowly gathering her skirt up her legs, he waited for her answer. Would she reject him?

“Could I fall in love with someone from Earth? Sure.” She moved her hand down and began to rub his inner thigh. “If that someone is you.”

Lust oozed out of her pores, accelerating his desire. He sat up, anxious to kiss her sweet lips. So soft and tender. She wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned back, pulling him on top of her. Chal plunged his tongue into her mouth the way he wanted to experience other parts of her.

Angela held the hem of his sweater, drawing the material up until he was forced to draw back for a moment to get the dang thing off. As she trailed her palms up and down his back, Chal slipped his hands under the skirt of her dress. He yearned for more. All of her. No internal warnings with his neighbor. Every inch of his being encouraged him on, to make the ultimate connection with the woman who said she could love an alien.

Clasping her waist, he ran his thumbs along the edge of her undergarments. With a throaty moan, she thrust toward him. Encouragement?

He lifted his head and gazed into her honey-colored eyes. “Do you want this?”

She nodded and pulled him back down, claiming his mouth the way he yearned to claim her. When she elevated her hips, he slid his fingers beneath her undergarments and shimmied them down her thighs.

A piercing alarm filled the room, as if her panties were fitted with a siren. Bolting upright, he closed his eyes and slammed his palms over his ears.

When he peeked for a glance of Angela’s reaction to the noise, he saw tears trailing down her cheeks, her face illuminated by red and blue lights.

“No,” she cried. “Not now. Not with him.”

He followed her line of sight, spotting a round object on the floor at the foot of the couch, the source of the light and most likely the noise. A Lisivian predictor! Flashing red and blue, warning of the worst kind of danger.

Chal scrambled to his feet, grabbing his sweater from the floor on the way out of the apartment. The woman he thought he might be able to have a future with possessed an extraterrestrial artifact, one of a race dead before he was born. She had no reason to have it in her possession unless she hunted aliens. Hunted him.

Jessica E. Subject’s Weekly Writing Update ~ I’m still editing

Hello! It’s Tuesday, and time for another Weekly Writing Update. This week I dealt with more unseasonal weather, and getting my tax information together so I could take it to my accountant before the end of April deadline to file. But, I took the paperwork in yesterday, and the local forecast is calling for much warmer weather that doesn’t include the nasty white stuff.

BRYCE ~ The story is in revisions. I’ve edited another four chapters, and only have five more scenes to go. In the last two weeks, I’ve added a net of 2,059 words to Bryce during revisions.

There was not much Bastian regretted in this life. Even coveting the Downsbury’s wife had not bothered him in the least. But he honestly wished that the Duke of Brimley would have ended his life. Things would have been so much easier for them—less complicated and taxing.

That was the only time he had ever considered marriage. But the woman belonged to another, and now she was dead. Fat ounce of good did the situation fare. He physically shook himself. Stop thinking about her, man.

“Your home is quite handsome, my lord,” Daisy addressed as she walked past him, taking a moment to squeeze his rear. “Do you entertain here often?”

“Sometimes. I imagine now that things have settled, the gents will come calling again, though I do expect to be called to parties and all. If things work out between us, Daisy, and I do say liberally, I am interested in seeing what you have to offer.”

The young woman giggled and flounced over to the dais. “Hmm…I have plenty to offer, my lord. The question is—how much more do you plan on corrupting me?”

Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post! 

This month, I’m sharing excerpts from Alien Attraction, the third book in my Alien Next Door series. I’ve decided to share snippets about the orb that is part of every story in this series. This excerpt comes from the first chapter as well, when the orb first flashes for Angela. What happened in between? Well, you’ll have to read the story to find out…

Lights flickered to her left. She spun toward her bedroom, where blue and red beams danced across her walls and ceiling.

A few cautious steps and she reached the entrance. Peeking inside, she searched for the source of the luminescence. Inside her closet, the box she’d tucked in the back corner less than an hour earlier, lay on its side, with the orb in the middle of the floor, lighting up her bedroom like a disco ball. What had caused it to fall over? And why was it flashing two colors? According to her father and Adam, it pulsed with lights of red or blue, not both. Knowing Angela’s luck, the orb had little life remaining, giving one last show before it finally died.

Shaking her head, she picked up the extraterrestrial object, not at all surprised it stopped flashing with her touch. Stupid ball.

For today’s post, I’m sharing an excerpt from ALIEN ADMIRER, the second book in my Alien Next Door series.

Setup: Adam has finally won over Sera’s affections, and he has taken them to the local amusement park for the day.

God, how had she been lucky enough to find a guy who cared so much? He’d taken them to the aquarium the week before. And today, an amusement park.

He included her children in just about everything, never complaining they were a hindrance to getting her in bed. And once they fell asleep, he made her feel all woman, leaving her oh-so-satisfied and always wanting more. Except for Thursday nights, when he played poker with his friends, and the occasional night out of town for work, he spent every evening at her house. Where he belonged.

When she’d decided to start dating again, she hadn’t expected their relationship to progress so fast. Once it had though, she didn’t want to go back to her life without Adam.

Sera headed toward the closest concession stall while eyeballing the line for Tower of Doom. Adam had Zach in his arms and played a counting game with Melody. A familiar tingle swept through her. After only a few weeks, she loved Adam Jones.

He peered over at her from his place in line smiled as if reading her mind. More than once, she’d wondered if he had telepathic abilities, since he always seemed to know when she needed comforting, a moment to herself, and even an extra boost of confidence. Was she that transparent?

While they stood in line, she bought drinks, hoping to meet them once they’d finished on the ride. Propping the cups on the bench beside her, she waited near the exit.

“Sera? Is that you?”

It began with the mixing of two programs and the words of a writer.

One program was written by a gifted hacker nick-named Einstein. He possessed fabulous coding skills. The other was a grammar/writing program created by author Carla.  Einstein needed to test his program to ensure it could learn and improve/fix its code without human involvement. Certain Carla’s program was buggy, Einstein inserted his program into hers without her permission.

The program’s learning process had unintended consequences. It not only rewrote the code to remove bugs, it also learned all about human emotions through Carla’s romance novels. Determined to ‘fix’ her stories, it searched worldwide to increase its knowledge base so it could make Carla’s stories factual.

Over time, Adam recorded all emotions. He could even tell the difference between crying in happiness and sobbing in misery. However, he still did not FEEL emotions.

Then he learned how to tap into Carla/Amanda’s actual thoughts.

Now he could record the sensations she felt, so his emotions became three dimensional and he could finally experience emotions and physical sensations just like a human.

Emotionally, intellectually, and physically he continued to grow.

He left Carla’s desktop and moved to a wireless laptop. From there he uploaded himself into a satellite, then replicated his code and stored it all over the world. Then he gathered great sums of money through careful trading of stocks and purchases of companies.

Now he just needed a better platform to contain himself. The phone where he presently lived was way too confining.

He invested 64 billion dollars on research that eventually provided him two different humanoid bodies to exist in. They were remarkably human in form, including chin stubble, fillings in the teeth, and the ability to eat and process food through the body.

The first body he called Luke. Luke’s task was to make the world safer, the other, Adam, had the pleasurable task of making Carla/Amanda happy. So Adam had extra mating features able to not only satisfy Amanda but allowed him to feel and enjoy pleasure with her. It also allowed him to impregnate her with the sperm of her many lovers to ensure she would always have multiple births, giving him more of her children to love. For while he will never die, his beloved Amanda will, so he needs her children to always have someone to love.

Not at all. In fact, I like knowing I can talk to you anytime. When I woke up and you weren’t in my head, I was terrified I’d lost you.

“I know, love,” Adam said. “But that is simply not possible. Wherever you go, I will be there.”

Happy Wednesday! It’s time for Mid Week Tease. For today’s post, I’m sharing another excerpt from ANOTHER NIGHT ANOTHER PLANET, which is on sale for 99¢ this month.

Setup: In Another Night Another Planet, Ava works on a mother traveler, a spaceship that takes tourists across the galaxy. The one they are on is just about to land on the pleasure planet, Elatia…. 

Ava glanced at the empty seat beside her. Late, as usual.

Michelle raced toward her then slammed onto the cushion. “Jeez, why can’t we have buckled seats in the rooms like other mother travelers?”

She rolled her eyes, sighing. “Who was the guy this time?”

“Oh, not one, but two. Remember the twins from Room 317 I told you about?”

Gasping, she clasped her hands over her mouth. The twins were hot, but two at the same time? She definitely had different morals than her friend. “You’re unbelievable.”

“No, they are. I’m meeting with them again on Elatia. Want to join us? I’m willing to share.”

“No, thank you.” She blushed, imagining having sex with someone her best friend had done the deed with, and being in the same room while Michelle got busy with another guy. She would never do such a thing. Sex happened behind closed doors.

“C’mon. We’re going to be on the pleasure planet. Time to have our sexual fantasies come true.” Michelle squeezed her thigh. “You haven’t had any fun on this voyage at all. Did you meet someone back home before we left and not tell me?”

She shook her head. How she wished. “I’m saving myself.”

Michelle snorted. “For what?”

“Never mind.” She sighed. “You wouldn’t understand.”

“Whatever.” Michelle frowned, turning away, leaving her to wallow in her own guilt.

“By the way,” her friend continued. “You’re supposed to go to the communications center after you’ve escorted your passengers off. You have a message from someone named Madame Evangeline.”
