COVER REVEAL for Bryce: Galactic Defenders book one #scifi #romance #books
Hello everyone! I’m excited to reveal the cover for the first book in my Galactic Defenders series. I don’t have a set release date yet, but I’m revising as fast as I can to get it out to you soon. Starting this Sunday, I will be sharing excerpts from Bryce as part of Weekend Writing Warriors.
So, the cover is below, but first, the blurb…
A dedicated Defender…
Bryce fell in love once, but after Lalia was ripped away from him, he locked his heart from feeling anything for anyone else. Instead, he devotes his life to the Galactic Alliance, killing every bloodthirsty Erebus he comes across.
A shunned princess…
Lalia Comosova fell in love with the wrong man. When her parents learned of her transgressions, they sent her to Earth to hide her error in judgment from the rest of the kingdom.
A second chance?
When these lovers are reunited after many years apart, they have a chance to find happiness together. But fate steps in and threatens to rip them apart as it did years ago.
And now for the cover reveal…

Librarian by day, erotic romance author by night, Melinda Rose sets out for another exciting conference, this one in Canada’s capital city, Ottawa. But all her plans go up in smoke when the 1Night Stand she applies for is set to happen at the same time.
Cooper Tate heads to Ottawa to meet a friend. When he learns of her deception, he is ready to head back home and vows never to trust her again. That is, until he sees a picture of his stunning date.
With the help of Madame Eve, can these two former neighbors become lovers? Or will extraterrestrial secrets rip away the hero Melinda has always dreamed of?

5 shooting stars ~ “Sometimes true love can come from the most interesting places.” ~ Redz World Reviews
“This story is hot, funny, & out of this world. It’s a quick dose of romance in a way that makes you believe your wildest dreams are possible.” ~ Pure Jonel
“Deliciously naughty with sexy scenes.” ~ Amazon Customer Review
Here’s an excerpt from the first chapter:
“Hey, have you heard of 1Night Stand?” Lauren pointed to her laptop. “It’s a dating service run by someone named Madame Eve. I hear several authors attending the conference have dates using them this weekend.”
Melinda scoffed, tucking her luggage beside her bed. “Romance authors using a dating service? Seems weird, doesn’t it?”
Lauren shrugged. “Makes sense, though. Everyone here believes in soul mates and happily-ever-afters, right? Want to sign up?”
“Wait, what?” Lauren knew the type of guy she wanted and had been there to commiserate with Melinda through all her bad experiences with matchmaking sites in the past.
“C’mon. Sign up for a 1Night Stand. It’ll be fun.”
“No.” Melinda shook her head with vigor. “No way. I’ve had enough one-night stands in my life. You know that. I don’t need or want another. Ever.” She flopped back on the bed, trying to forget the sting of rejection at being kicked out of a warm bed at three o’clock in the morning and making the walk of shame to her car, or waking up alone. Worse yet, the guy who woke up beside her and didn’t even remember her name. She was done with it all. Done.
“But this is different.” Her friend tossed the paper at her. “It’s more like a blind date. The owner of the company chooses the guy you’ll go out with. No profiles to look at and no obscene messages from creeps.”
“Sounds too good to be true, if you ask me.” She’d been burned too many times trying new ways to meet men.
“Read the testimonials. From couples still together, many of them married shortly after their date.”
Melinda rolled her eyes. “Okay, so she got a few right, but how many mismatches did this woman make along the way? How many of her clients will tell you they ended up with an asshole? I don’t want to be an Oops, I got it wrong case.”
“C’mon, Mel, take a chance. I swear, if you don’t do this, I’ll do it for you. I’ve already started filling out my own application. I’m going to do yours next.”
With a sigh, Melinda read the testimonials on Lauren’s screen then reached down to grab her laptop case. Too good to be true, maybe, but Madame Eve did have a high success rate and had set up some very high-profile couples. “Fine, I’ll do it.” Besides, if she refused, Lauren would sign her up. She noted the cost of a 1Night Stand and didn’t want to be someone’s charity case, no matter how close they were.
Filling in the never-ending online form, she told almost truths, though she may have left a few pounds off her weight. And her height may have included her high heels. When asked to describe her ideal man, she paused. In every story she wrote, her hero came from outer space, as she didn’t believe any good single men still existed on Earth. Women who already knew what they wanted in life had snatched them up in their twenties without exception. If only she’d been ready to get hitched at that age.
A sexy, hard-working man from another planet.
There! Let Madame Eve find her a man who fit her bizarre description. She tabbed to the next question before she could delete her words.
Melinda rushed through the rest of the questions and submitted her application. She glanced over at Lauren. “You done yet?”
“Yep.” Her friend bounced on the bed, releasing a high-pitched squeal. “I can’t wait to meet the guy Madame Eve sets me up with.”
“Me, too,” she lied. Though she had no doubt extraterrestrials existed somewhere in the wide expanse of the universe, they didn’t live on Earth and, therefore, could not be found for a 1Night Stand. Especially at such short notice. Her application would be rejected, leaving her worry free about another blind date. No money out of her pocket, and Lauren wouldn’t be hounding her all weekend about applying.
Melinda’s email tab blinked to show a new message. Her stomach rolled when she read the sender. She clicked over and opened an email from the owner of the matchmaking service. “I got a confirmation of receipt. Did you?”
Lauren sighed. “Yes. I thought she had arranged a date for me already, but I guess I was hoping for a lot, eh?”
“Considering she probably has several applications come in each day with all of those high-profile testimonials, I doubt we’ll hear anything until after the weekend.” Hopefully never, in her case.
While logged in, Melinda checked the rest of her inbox, deleting row after row of unimportant emails, nothing to take her mind off the numerous possible creeps she might be set up with. If, in fact, the woman found her a date. Maybe Madame Eve would set her up with a man who believed he came from another planet, one obsessed with space, the kind of guy her parents thought she wanted. They’d sweetly bought her a ticket for Fan Expo in Toronto last August, encouraging her to meet one. Epic fail. Dressed as Agent Carter, she’d had a guy claiming to be Captain America, wearing a beer case around his chest, stalk her the entire day.
In her other social media, a fan had mentioned being excited to meet her, a big squee in front with plenty of exclamation points. Such messages brightened her mood. Reader excitement fed her own and kept her muse’s ego soothed. She sent a quick reply. @LindaReads Looking forward to meeting you. I’ll be a Mad Hatter tonight. Be sure to find me. About to log off, Melinda noticed another message appear in her inbox. From Madame Eve again.
“Hey, did you receive a second confirmation?”
Lauren turned toward her, the side of her face scrunched in confusion. “No, did you?”
“I…I think so. Maybe.” Though the subjects were different. Your 1Night Stand the subject of the second said rather than Confirmation of receipt of 1Night Stand application.
“Let me see.” Lauren leaped from her bed to Melinda’s, not touching the floor on the way over.
Melinda waved her fingers over the touch pad. “There’s no way she could have found me a match already, or even read through everything I wrote. Should I click on it? I mean, what if it’s spam or a virus—I would lose all my stories.”
“Open it!” Lauren perched behind her, peering over her shoulder. “You backed up all your work before you left home, remember? Maybe Madame Eve predicted your application would come in today and is a speed reader. Who knows? Please don’t keep me waiting any longer.”
Hand vibrating from nerves, Melinda brought the pointer to the message, clicked, and read.
Bonjour Melinda,
I’ve been waiting a great deal of time for your application. I’ve had the perfect man for you all along. You will meet him at seven tonight in room 316 for dinner and an evening filled with whatever activities you choose. I have attached his photograph so you will know who you are meeting.
Affectuesement,
Madame Eve
Melinda’s lunch threatened to make a reappearance. This is all wrong. Her date had to be someone who believed himself an alien. No one else would match the description of her ideal man. Thank goodness she had a reason to cancel. “It’s not going to work tonight. I am having dinner with all of you, with my readers. I spent a lot of money on my Mad Hatter costume.”
Gripping her shoulder, Lauren squeezed. “Yes, I know, but you are going to skip it. No way I’m letting you pass on this opportunity. Besides, I’m sure your fans would love to read about how you met your happily-ever-after guy at a conference.” She clicked on the attachment. “Let’s see what this guy looks like.”
As the picture popped up on screen, they gasped, Melinda in pure shock.
“He’s hot.” Lauren leaned closer to the computer. “Look at those muscles. And such a strong jaw…. Wow! I’m so jealous. Can I pretend I’m you tonight?”
Melinda squinted at the screen, a headache developing in her temples. He wasn’t at all the man she’d expected to be matched up with. Not even a guy she’d expected to see again. “I know him. He’s my…. Oh God, I know him.”

SABOTAGED DESIRES by @RebeccaAiries ~ They must fix their communication system & their relationship

SABOTAGED DESIRES
by Rebecca Airies
Suz Lore thought she had everything she wanted, a job as an engineer and a position on a colony ship headed to another planet. That was before her arranged ménage marriage with Robert Smith and David Bradford turned into a disaster. She’d thought they were building more than a sizzling sexual relationship, but all they do is argue now. She isn’t surprised when they’re sequestered in a room in order to reignite the passion between them and learn to trust again.
Robert believes she betrayed him while David is stuck in the middle of their conflict. Getting Robert to talk about what made him angry is difficult, but they discover there’s far more behind their problems than a message with misleading information. A virus has overtaken the ship’s computers, put them on a different heading and cut them off from all communication. They must work together to find a way to survive and rebuild their relationship
Susanne looked up at him and blinked. The light tone of voice and the glitter in his eyes caught her attention. It had been a while since they’d played. Before Robert had received the message in fact. She craved the feel of David’s arms around her again.
“With all the tension, it’s been too long since I’ve felt you holding me tight. I’m sorry you were stuck in the middle of this situation.” She combed her fingers through his blond hair.
“Suz, not your fault. If he’d simply sat down with you, showed you the message and asked a question in a civil manner, this wouldn’t have happened. You tried to explain. Now, stop thinking about that and help me give him something to watch.” He drew back. His hands gripped the bottom of his shirt. He gave her a wicked smile before he whipped the sleeveless garment over his head.
She took a deep breath, let herself relax and follow his lead. “Tell me one of your fantasies and let’s make it come as true as we can in this room.”
“This situation is already close to one of them.” He guided her around the bed. “I’ve got you and Robert and a possible audience.”
“Um, that sounds fun, but tell me more about it.” She stopped and turned at the edge of the bed. Her hands lifted and stroked over his shoulders.
“I plan to strip you naked and spread you out on this bed. There are cameras in this room. What do you think of someone watching as I tease this pretty pussy or suck at one of these gorgeous breasts.” His voice lowered a little below his normal tone, but sounded breathier.
As he eased closer, his lips brushed over her temple. His hand cupped her pussy through the thin lounge pants. Her tongue slicked over her lips. Slick juices eased from her pussy and dampened her pants. The dirty talk always made her so hot. He knew that. The man shamelessly took advantage of it.
“I say let them watch and if they’re smart, they’ll take notes.” She pulled her shirt over her head. The light blue fabric fluttered to the ground.
A smile curved his lips. He laughed and leaned in close. His tongue traced over her neck. She tilted her head, willing to let him play for a while before she called on him to follow through with his fantasy.
“Damn it! Intimate moment, give us some privacy. I don’t want anyone seeing either of you in a private moment.” Robert straightened and glanced up at the ceiling.
“Relax, Robert. You know as well as I do that at the first sign of any nudity between us, they’ll cut off the recording. We have to go over and contact them to get it started again. They don’t have any intention to intrude any more than you’d like them to watch.” David shook his head. “You do know how to kill a mood.”
“He hasn’t killed my mood. We still have an audience, even if it is only one person.” Suz cupped his cheek before she urged his head upward for a kiss.
He nibbled her lips. “Yes, and even if seeing us makes him burn, he has to sit there and watch. He doesn’t get to play until he comes up with the right questions.”
She let her hands drift over his shoulders and down his chest. The warmth of his skin drew her to explore even more. She leaned closer. Her cheek brushed against his chest as she nuzzled and teased. His scent filled her, the slightly woodsy trace exhilarating. She loved it and didn’t know if the fragrance came from some type of wash or light cologne, but he always smelled wonderful.
“Um, but you know he likes to watch. Do you remember the first time he watched? He sat naked in that chair, his hand slowly stroking his cock as you and I fucked on the bed.” She slowly drew her hands over his ribs down to his stomach. The muscles rippled and flexed as she continued her downward path.
She hooked her fingers beneath the waistband. Those pants had to come off. Although they were loose, they were in the way. She much preferred the tighter pants he wore normally. They molded to the tight ass she enjoyed watching, not to mention grabbing when they had sex.
“I remember, but I also remember how desperate he was afterward. I think it might give him a reason to adjust his thinking.” David’s hands cupped underneath the full curves of her breasts, lifting them.
“Um, then let’s give him something to watch.” She pushed the loose fitting bottoms down his thighs.
A voracious reader since childhood, Rebecca Airies has always enjoyed getting lost in the fantastic worlds of science fiction, horror, fantasy and romance. When she began to write her own stories, they always had a romantic edge.
Rebecca currently lives in Texas and writes with the help of a couple feline critics. #MidWeekTease: Face-to-face with HER ALIEN HERO #romance #books #99cents
Happy Wednesday! It’s time for Mid Week Tease. I’ve just returned from Romancing the Capital, and am sharing an excerpt from HER ALIEN HERO, an erotic romance that takes place in Ottawa during said convention. This story is on sale for 99¢ in May 2016.
Setup: Last time, Cooper found out the identity of his blind date. In this excerpt, Melinda and Cooper will reunite for the first time since they were in high school.
She shuffled the last few feet before knocking on the door. She cringed at the burning sensation in her chest. No meeting had ever mattered more. If this didn’t work out, she would swear off dating forever, conclude she was destined to be alone.
The lock clicked open. She held her breath, anxious about Cooper’s reaction to seeing her again.
The door opened, and she saw him, a wide smile on his face and his eyes sparkling. “Wow, Melinda, you’re even more beautiful than when I lived next to you.”
Heat rushed to her cheeks. She bounced on her toes, unable to think of a thing to say. Instead, she waved like a teenage girl with a crush. Not so long ago she had been that girl.
Cooper gestured her inside. “Come in. Our dinner will be here soon, but we have a few minutes to catch up.”
She nodded, her cheeks aching from her perma-grin. “Okay.” Gah! Why couldn’t she think of anything else to say? One would think she’d never been in the company of a good-looking guy before. No, not good-looking, Cooper was gorgeous. Hardly a geek anymore. He still had thick blond hair, and his blue eyes seemed to reach into her soul. His faded black T-shirt stretched across a muscular chest and arms. His jeans rode low on his hips, yet didn’t seem to sag over his ass. How she wished for him to turn around for a better view of his rear. As she passed him, he kept his gaze on her, the color in his cheeks growing deeper. She paused, unsure where to go. The dining table? The sofa? The bedroom? She released a soft groan at the thought. Had he heard it? By the end of the night, she might have slept with the man of her dreams. For real. But she didn’t want to come off easy, planned to stretch out their time together as much as possible before they had sex. Being asked to leave by Cooper after their time together would break her heart.
Cooper locked the door then headed her way. Instead of passing her, he lingered at her side. “Melinda, I have to tell you something.” He cleared his throat and rubbed at the middle of his forehead. “You see, my friend set this whole thing up. When I found out, I wasn’t very happy and planned to leave.”
A sudden coldness hit her core. His warm greeting, the compliments, all an act. Not the first time. He didn’t want to be there. With her. “Fine.” She peered around Cooper toward the door. “I understand. I’ll go.”
“No.” He moved closer and brushed his fingers across her hands, sending a jolt of electricity up her arms. “I changed my mind when I saw your picture.”
She swayed on her feet. Cooper had stayed for her?
He closed in, and she backed up a step. “You see, I always wanted you, even after you moved away.”
He held her tight to the wall with his muscular frame, restricting her movement. When he gripped the cheeks of her ass, she jumped at the bold move. She recovered in a split second, but didn’t miss his brief chuckle.
She reached across his shoulders, clasping her hands behind his head. So much like the beginning of all her fantasies, with Cooper taking her the moment he saw her. She pinched the back of her hand to ensure she remained in reality. Completely authentic.
He touched his forehead to hers, his breathing ragged. “What do you want, Melinda?”
She melted at the sexy rumble of his voice. She’d never stopped wondering what happened to him after she’d moved away or imagining him instead of many men she’d been intimate with. Everyone else had acted as an appetizer, leaving her craving him as her main course, her dessert, and every single meal thereafter. “You,” she whispered.
Cupping the back of his head, she touched her lips to his. The feather-light contact quickly became more urgent as Cooper enticed her lips open and fucked her mouth with his tongue. He grabbed her ass, lifting her closer to him. Her heart thundered. She molded into him, letting his dominating energy take control.
She melted at the sexy rumble of his voice. #Excerpt from HER ALIEN HERO by Jessica E. Subject

#8Sunday: “Where’s the alien?” Excerpt from Alien Attraction #books #romance
Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!
This will be the last excerpt I share from Alien Attraction, the third book in my Alien Next Door series. Next week, I won’t be participating, as I’ll be on my way home from Romancing the Capital. On May 15, I will start sharing excerpts from Bryce or Beyond Reach, whichever is closer to being ready for release.
All previous excerpts from Alien Attraction have focused on the orb, but this snippet reveals some of the danger the orb predicted, and gives a peek into the connection they share after the first time they made love…
The crazy bitch grabbed a scalpel from a nearby table and held it in front of Angela. “You know where the alien is, and you’re going to tell me. We followed you back to your apartment building last night. What happened after?”
“I had dinner with the guy, yes. We went back to my place, yes. But when I woke up in the morning, he was gone. Sent a text this afternoon saying he would meet me after work, but as you know, he didn’t show.” And the reason for his absence worried her more than the blade resting against her face. She’d felt his presence for a few minutes after she’d arrived in this hell, experienced his panic and concern before it all vanished, like someone had reached in and ripped him right from her soul.
ALIEN ATTRACTION
She wants to be more alien.
He wants to be more human.
Born a galaxy apart, will Angela and Chal have a chance at love, or will their extraterrestrial secrets leave them running to stay alive?

#MySexySaturday: Face-to-face with the man who saved her in ACCIDENTAL ROMANCE #NewAdult #books
Hello and welcome to the 139th week of My Sexy Saturday.
Here are the details: every Saturday, published and unpublished authors will be sharing 7 words, sentences, or paragraphs from a work-in-progress or an already published story.
Today’s theme is…
MY SEXY LOVE
For today’s post, I’m sharing an excerpt from ACCIDENTAL ROMANCE, one of my few stories that is not sci-fi. I will not be participating next week, as I will be at the Romancing the Capital conference in Ottawa. See you again May 14th!
Setup: After her boyfriend dumped her, and she lost her hand in a farming accident, Leanne is feeling pretty down. Then Jake arrives…
Tina gathered her in a hug, rubbing her back. “I’m sorry.”
She reveled in the fact her friend didn’t say I told you so or tell her she deserved better. Tina was simply there, everything she needed at the moment. Loosening her grip, Leanne took a deep breath and leaned back on the bed. “Thank you for being here. And thanks for not being put off by the fact I’m no longer whole.”
“Why would I be anywhere else?” Tina gripped her arm again. “You’re still the same person. So what if you’re one hand less.” A tear trickled down her cheek. “Anyone who can’t see you’re still the same beautiful Leanne is an ass.”
“I agree.”
Leanne turned her head toward the doorway at the sound of the familiar husky voice. But the sight was not what she was used to at all. Instead of his dirty and smelly farm coveralls, Jake had on a T-shirt that stretched across his ripped chest, and his blue jeans hugged all the right places. He’d left the ball cap somewhere else, revealing the wave in his dark brown hair. When had he grown up from the teen she remembered in high school? His blue eyes were fixed on her as if she’d disappear if he glanced away.
But she wasn’t going anywhere. He might have saved her life, but she’d never be the same. Her dream of taking over the farm was shattered. She’d never work by his side again.
Tina leaned down and hugged her. “Well, I think it’s time for me to leave. You have a hero to thank.”
Anyone who can't see you're the same person is an ass. #Excerpt from ACCIDENTAL ROMANCE by Jessica E. Subject

And brought him closer…
Jake, the farm hand who lives down the road, refuses to let Leanne give up on her goals. He remains by her side throughout her healing. But, when he confesses his true intentions, their friendship takes a drastic turn.

#MidWeekTease: Will Cooper stay for his blind date in HER ALIEN HERO #romance #books
Happy Wednesday! It’s time for Mid Week Tease. Since I’m getting ready to head to Ottawa for Romancing the Capital, I’ve decided to share an excerpt from HER ALIEN HERO, an erotic romance that takes place in Ottawa during said convention. Also, I won’t be participating next week, as I’ll be on my way to Ottawa.
Setup: Cooper (half extraterrestrial) just found out that his friend, Tabitha, has set him up on a blind date…
Cooper tensed, heat flushing through his body. How could Tabitha set him up with a stranger? Not even a simple date, but a one-night stand. She could have, at least, told him before he drove to the hotel. But then he would never have traveled to Ottawa, never gone through with the arrangement to begin with. He stood, tossing the note and envelope back onto the bed.
On his way out of the bedroom, he unclipped his phone. No way it’s going to happen. I’m heading back home. One hundred dollars in fuel wasted. So much for trusting his friend. Never again would he travel anywhere at her request without knowing the reason before he set out.
He grabbed his duffle bag from the floor and reached for the door handle. His phone vibrated.
Have you looked at the photo? Do not leave until you do.
Dammit. He hadn’t noticed a picture. What difference would seeing the woman make anyway? He refused to stick around for some blind date whether with a troll or a super model. He’d had enough blind dates in his lifetime, and they all ended the same way, with the woman departing when she noticed something “off” about him. He’d learned to never stick around long enough for them to think about it any further, often excusing himself to use the restaurant bathroom and leaving instead, paying the bill on the way out.
In order to placate Tabitha—she’d torment him if he didn’t look—Cooper picked up the envelope and fished inside.
Thick, filmy paper brushed along his fingertips. He pulled out the rectangular object to see the identity of the woman about to be stood up.
No, it couldn’t be. Wavy red hair framed the woman’s ivory face. A smattering of freckles highlighted her cheekbones, drawing his attention to her radiant clover-colored eyes. Long ago, he’d imagined kissing her full lips, slipping his hands under her tight shirt to stroke her warm skin. While his former neighbor had grown up in the best of ways over the years, she still resembled the girl he’d fantasized about for most of his early teen years.
She still resembled the girl from his past. #Excerpt from HER ALIEN HERO by Jessica E. Subject
