Turbulent times in THE HOTTER THE LOVE by @LeaBronsen #romance #newrelease
After sexy cover model Yushka proposed, life is more turbulent than ever for erotic romance author Andrea. He is expecting a baby with his ex-girlfriend, who says she doesn’t want to keep it. How will Andrea’s sons take upcoming life changes? To make things more complicated, her ex goes to great lengths to coax her back, and one of her sons’ girlfriend is a tad too interested in Andrea’s young and very handsome fiancé…
On the writing front, Andrea anxiously awaits news on her latest manuscript submission, and she has to decide whether to accept her publisher’s offer to model in a sexy photo shoot—the same kind she and Yushka did in Cannes—in the hopes of making a new “Cover Photo of the Year”. Considering the erotic poses the previous photographer demanded, can Andrea model with another guy other than Yushka?

BOOK TRAILER
We enter a hall so big the tiniest sound echoes. It’s quite humbling. I shrink in my clothes and barely dare to breathe. Dark wood furniture towers over us, with a mix of contradictory smells—orchid-scented sanitizer and old dust—filling the space.
Shoes clamping on a hardwood floor, we follow the tall, silver-haired man into a living room with exquisite furniture, gold-framed mirrors, and classic paintings on the walls. Heavy velvet curtains adorn the windows, and an impressive floor-to-ceiling library on one side has to contain literary curiosities from every part of the world. Marveling, I study each magnificent object.
The man stops and glares across the room, his facial expression clearly one of annoyance. What an oppressive atmosphere.
Yushka stands beside him and stares in the same direction.
I follow their gaze. A young and strikingly beautiful woman is half-seated on a green velvet couch with her legs folded underneath her. Dark doe eyes and pink lips stand out in a pale, oval face. A waterfall of rich, glowing auburn-colored hair contrasts with her white dress. She looks cast in a scene from the Russian classic Doctor Zhivago. Beneath full breasts, a pregnant belly protrudes, far too round and big for her frail frame. Jekaterina?
My chest tightens. The more I look at her, the more her beauty takes my breath away. She’s the woman Yushka was in love with last year. The one he slept with and impregnated.
Her gaze is riveted on him, the recognition and warmth fiery.
I shoot him a glance. His features are tight, as if he’s trying to hide his reaction, but he doesn’t take his gaze off her. This is exactly what I feared. They’ve had feelings for each other. Maybe meeting now will revive them. He has fallen for her once, so why would he not fall for her again?
I feel bad, nauseous, want to get out of here. But she’s carrying the baby girl I’m going to call mine very soon. I need to overcome my unease. Hopefully, once the formalities are done, this is the only time we’ll have to meet.
She tells him a few words in Russian, her voice the cooing of a turtledove.
Yushka replies calmly, but his throat sounds choked. He grabs my hand, palm sweaty, and leads me to a sofa opposite hers. His discomfort is more than clear in his features. He tears his gaze from her and searches me, his expression vibrating with an intensity I seldom see. It hits me—he’s afraid.
I squeeze his hand. “Is everything okay?”
“Yes,” he replies instantly, but his tension is palpable.
My chest tightens to a painful level. What is he so nervous about? From his interaction with Jekaterina, this has nothing to do with the baby. It’s about them, their relationship, and me. Is he afraid he’ll have to choose between us?
Goodness, I’m delirious. I sit very still, take small, shallow breaths, and pray for everything to be all right. Then bolt out of this house after the arrangements are resolved.
Jekaterina addresses me, her dark pupils glimmering. “You’re very beautiful. Are you a model, too?”
I’m as taken aback by her speaking a fluent English as I am by her compliment, and need a few seconds to shake myself. “Um, no, I’m not.”
She raises a brow. “That’s funny. I would’ve sworn you were a model. So how did you two meet?”
“At an author conference.”
Yushka clears his throat. “Andrea writes books, and I’m featured on the cover of her last one.”
“Oh, how exciting.” Her lips curve upward. I can’t decide whether it’s a genuine smile or she’s faking it.
“Yes,” he continues. “That’s why we … uh … were bound to meet. They had organized a Meet-and-Greet for authors and cover models of their books.” Why does he sound like he’s trying to make an excuse?
She flutters her long lashes at me. “What kind of books do you write?”
Before I can answer, her father walks over to a cabinet and picks up a bunch of papers. “All right, enough chit-chat.” His voice booms like thunder.
About the other books in the series
The Perfect Shoot (book #1)
When Andrea Johnson, writing as author Cindy Vega, signed up for a Meet & Greet with the cover model of her latest book, she didn’t expect sparks to fly. Yushka is dangerously good-looking and too young for her. But their connection is instantaneous, and during a photo shoot with the two, the photographer picks up on their growing attraction. Seeing the potential for THE cover photo of the century, he decides to push their comfort limits…

Mine to Love (book #2)
The writing conference in sunny Cannes was fantastical, a dream. Back at home, reality catches up with author Andrea Johnson and the sexy cover model of her book, Yushka. With tough working schedules, challenging family relations, and seductive temptation from all sides, the couple’s explosive romance is put to the test. Will their love be strong enough to have a future?

Kitty glanced toward her friend Lucy and the smile wreathing the bride’s face made Kitty understand the full meaning of the word envy. “You’ve seen the scandal sheets? How someone found my fan in the pantry?”
Justin nodded, looked horrid. “The gossip du jour.”
She clutched her stomach. “Do not make light of this.”
“Sorry, darling. I should have seen it there before I left, but I was in such a rush, I didn’t.”
She reached out and squeezed his hand. “I’m sorry, too. I should have had my wits about me. But I—”
“I was the same.” His gaze was consoling and incredibly sympathetic. “Undone. Wanting you.”
She inhaled, sat back. He was so kind, so sweet, so unlike Henry. “Tell me what happened after I left the pantry.”
“I cleaned up the glass. Found a kitchen maid who hailed the butler. Then I apologized and offered to purchase new glassware.”
“But how did you explain why we—you were there?”
Justin shrugged. “I lost my way in the house.”
“He believed you?”
“I thought so.”
They stared at each other for a long moment in which she expressed more gratitude with her eyes than with her words. “As soon as someone connects the broken glassware to my fan, we will be done for.”
“Not if you marry me, we won’t.”
“Do not begin that again.” She warned beneath her breath.
“I must.”
“Why?” she asked him, stood and said, “I must find the ladies’ retiring room. Excuse me.”
She made her way out of the dining room, but Justin was hard on her heels.
In the hall, she spun on him and stamped her foot. “Following me is so obvious. Go away.”
“No. You must listen to me. About the roses.”
She put her hands to her ears and strode down the hall.
In two steps, he pulled her from her chosen path and swung her into the family library. Pressing her against a stack of books, he braced his hands on either side of her head.
Blocked, she fumed and fussed. “Say what you will and let me go.”
He arched his brows. “I want to tell you about your roses.”
“What?”
“Your roses.”
“Not mine. Yours.”
“They have sprung their first blooms now,” he said, undeterred by her testiness. “Rich reds and creamy whites. They have grown, changed. They need more space to mature. Some must be transplanted soon.”
His declaration melted a cold, hard part of her resistance. She wanted to sob, run, be done here. “They must be lovely.”
“They won’t be for long.” He caught a teardrop from her cheekbone.
“No?”
“They need someone to tend them properly.”
“You have a gardener.” She sniffed.
“I have no wife. And I need one, my darling. I need you.” He wrapped his hand around her nape and sank his fingers up against her scalp. His lips brushed hers.
“I’m not a good bet, you know I’m not.” And there is your uncle’s demand for a rich heiress.
“You married an old man and endured him. Marry a young man and enjoy him.” He kissed her then, his tongue darting inside to tantalize her with the promise of a different life.
“I want you. I do,” she told him. “But I cannot take the chance.”
“That I’d berate you. Badger you. Insult you? That’s what he did, isn’t it?”
Daily. Hourly.
Justin kissed her again, sweetly, desperately, lovingly. “Am I like him?”
“No. Never.” She put her palm to his flies and beneath the superfine wool, she felt one piece of hard evidence that he resembled Henry Varney in no way.
He crushed her hand to his firm body. “I mean to have you.”
She fought to undo his buttons. “Do it then.”
He glanced around the dim wood lined walls. “Here.”
Following his line of sight, she saw the map table. “You wouldn’t.”
“I will,” he told her and tugged her to the center of the room where a large table held maps. He lifted her and put her on it, her knees bent over the edge. “Let me raise your skirt, madam. I need to kiss you there.”
Someone gasped.
Kitty halted. Her gaze met Justin’s.
Something plunked to the floor. A book? A shoe?
She gulped.
He seized her hand. As he pulled open the door, he whispered, “Wait. Have you left anything?”

#8Sunday: Will they make it to Earth? ~ Excerpt from THE STAR PRINCESS #sfr #romance
Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!
Okay, so I’ve left BRYCE behind. Many of you tried to contemplate whether or not he was dead. Well, I will tell you all of my books are romance first, and romance stories must have an HEA.
I was going to share from BEYOND REACH, but I like to have links for more information before I start sharing. Hopefully in a week or two. Anyway, I’ve decided to give THE STAR PRINCESS some love this weekend, especially since it’s on sale for 99¢ this month.
Set-up: Deion has traveled to Minjet to meet the parents of his betrothed, and to bring her back to Earth with him. There was a case of mistaken identity, and now, as they are about to leave, they have another issue to deal with…
Glancing into the other cavern, Deion spied his aide racing their direction, a man by his side.
“Move!” The other man, the king’s aide, shoved him forward as he sped past. “You’ve got to be out of the atmosphere before we can set off the device.”
With a renewed sense of urgency, Deion burst through the opening into the battle zone. The zing of plazer guns filled the air. Red light sped toward him, but he managed to dodge their rays, diving for cover behind a large crate. He spotted his ship about two hundred feet away, beyond the outdoor storage area and across a field. If not under fire, he could easily run there, start it up, and wait for the princess to arrive. But with the shots blasting all around him, he didn’t dare attempt the crossing.

A Sexy Dilemma in The Star Princess #MySexySaturday #scifirom #99cents @DecadentPub
Hello and welcome to the 158th week of My Sexy Saturday.
Here are the details: every Saturday, published and unpublished authors will be sharing 7 words, sentences, or paragraphs from a work-in-progress or an already published story.
Today’s theme is…
A SEXY DILEMMA
Here’s seven from THE STAR PRINCESS,
on sale for 99¢ through September 30, 2016. Enjoy!
Set-up: Princess Ro’sa is betrothed to the prince from Earth. But, she ends up lusting for someone else. She’s just arrived at her friend’s house to tell her what happened the night before.
“So, how was your first kiss with the prince?”
“I didn’t kiss the prince.” And she wouldn’t ever, if she could get away with it. She’d probably catch something from him with how willing he was to kiss anyone.
Ka’lyn poured two tumblers of molem juice then joined her in the lounging room. “What do you mean? Who did you kiss?”
“His aide.” Ro’sa covered her mouth. Why had she believed that a good idea? Kissing the aide wouldn’t stop her marriage to the prince, only get her in trouble with her father, and if he learned what else she’d let Cyrus to do her, she’d be locked up forever.
“Whoa, the guy with the sultry lips?” Ka’lyn leaned toward her. “What was it like? No, wait. What about the prince? Tell me the whole story, every last juicy bit.”
“There’s not much to say about the prince.” Ro’sa sipped at her drink. “He’s a puckhead. After we were formally introduced, he sat at the opposite end of the table and didn’t speak another word to me. But he had plenty to whisper to the servers he coerced to sit on his lap. Kay, he was feeling them up in front of me. Wouldn’t surprise me if he had several of them in his quarters last night, too.”
“What a canine! What did your parents say?”

#8Sunday: Is Katrina too late to save him? ~ Excerpt from BRYCE #sfr #romance
Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!
This might be the last post for Bryce, as I’m almost ready to start sharing from Beyond Reach. It’s finished, and I should have a clean copy to start sharing from by next weekend. Last time I shared an excerpt from Bryce where Lalia had a sprained ankle and was running from the Erebus with Katrina and another girl named Gwenodyn. Did Lalia survive? Yes, but no one knows how she survived the Erebus attack. And she’s not exactly back on her feet. Gwenodyn made it safely to the bunker, and so did Katrina. Why? Because Katrina is the heroine in the next book. You met the hero as well. He’s the young Defender Bryce saved. Their story, Jager, is the one I’m writing next.
In this weekend’s excerpt, Bryce has been sent on another mission, but it didn’t go well, and the Alliance believes all the Defenders sent there to be dead. Katrina doesn’t agree, and commits to join the Defenders if she is allowed to travel with another Defender to Niesgoo to find out.
Jace finished with his last rescue at the same time as her, and they scrambled to the third tent together. He unzipped the tent and as soon as he opened the flap, the putrid stench of dead bodies hit her like a brick wall. She turned away and bent over, gagging. Fuck! She wiped her eyes. If they’d arrived earlier, if Kimba had sent a team sooner, these Defenders wouldn’t be dead.
“Bryce is inside.”
Katrina felt Jace’s hand on her back before she fell to her knees, tears blurring her vision. She’d come all this way, and he’d died because Kimba hadn’t believed.
“Katrina, get up.”
Is Bryce really dead?
BRYCE: Galactic Defenders Book One
A dedicated Defender…
Bryce fell in love once, but after Lalia was ripped away from him, he locked his heart from feeling anything for anyone else. Instead, he devotes his life to the Galactic Alliance, killing every bloodthirsty Erebus he comes across.
A shunned princess…
Lalia Comosova fell in love with the wrong man. When her parents learned of her transgressions, they sent her to Earth to hide her error in judgment from the rest of the kingdom.
A second chance?
When these lovers are reunited after many years apart, they have a chance to find happiness together. But fate steps in and threatens to rip them apart as it did years ago.

Cooper Tate heads to Ottawa to meet a friend. When he learns of her deception, he is ready to head back home and vows never to trust her again. That is, until he sees a picture of his stunning date.
With the help of Madame Eve, can these two former neighbors become lovers? Or will extraterrestrial secrets rip away the hero Melinda has always dreamed of?

5 shooting stars ~ “Sometimes true love can come from the most interesting places.” ~ Redz World Reviews
“This story is hot, funny, & out of this world. It’s a quick dose of romance in a way that makes you believe your wildest dreams are possible.” ~ Pure Jonel

Here’s an excerpt from the first chapter:
“Hey, have you heard of 1Night Stand?” Lauren pointed to her laptop. “It’s a dating service run by someone named Madame Eve. I hear several authors attending the conference have dates using them this weekend.”
Melinda scoffed, tucking her luggage beside her bed. “Romance authors using a dating service? Seems weird, doesn’t it?”
Lauren shrugged. “Makes sense, though. Everyone here believes in soul mates and happily-ever-afters, right? Want to sign up?”
“Wait, what?” Lauren knew the type of guy she wanted and had been there to commiserate with Melinda through all her bad experiences with matchmaking sites in the past.
“C’mon. Sign up for a 1Night Stand. It’ll be fun.”
“No.” Melinda shook her head with vigor. “No way. I’ve had enough one-night stands in my life. You know that. I don’t need or want another. Ever.” She flopped back on the bed, trying to forget the sting of rejection at being kicked out of a warm bed at three o’clock in the morning and making the walk of shame to her car, or waking up alone. Worse yet, the guy who woke up beside her and didn’t even remember her name. She was done with it all. Done.
“But this is different.” Her friend tossed the paper at her. “It’s more like a blind date. The owner of the company chooses the guy you’ll go out with. No profiles to look at and no obscene messages from creeps.”
“Sounds too good to be true, if you ask me.” She’d been burned too many times trying new ways to meet men.
“Read the testimonials. From couples still together, many of them married shortly after their date.”
Melinda rolled her eyes. “Okay, so she got a few right, but how many mismatches did this woman make along the way? How many of her clients will tell you they ended up with an asshole? I don’t want to be an Oops, I got it wrong case.”
“C’mon, Mel, take a chance. I swear, if you don’t do this, I’ll do it for you. I’ve already started filling out my own application. I’m going to do yours next.”
With a sigh, Melinda read the testimonials on Lauren’s screen then reached down to grab her laptop case. Too good to be true, maybe, but Madame Eve did have a high success rate and had set up some very high-profile couples. “Fine, I’ll do it.” Besides, if she refused, Lauren would sign her up. She noted the cost of a 1Night Stand and didn’t want to be someone’s charity case, no matter how close they were.
Filling in the never-ending online form, she told almost truths, though she may have left a few pounds off her weight. And her height may have included her high heels. When asked to describe her ideal man, she paused. In every story she wrote, her hero came from outer space, as she didn’t believe any good single men still existed on Earth. Women who already knew what they wanted in life had snatched them up in their twenties without exception. If only she’d been ready to get hitched at that age.
A sexy, hard-working man from another planet.
There! Let Madame Eve find her a man who fit her bizarre description. She tabbed to the next question before she could delete her words.
Melinda rushed through the rest of the questions and submitted her application. She glanced over at Lauren. “You done yet?”
“Yep.” Her friend bounced on the bed, releasing a high-pitched squeal. “I can’t wait to meet the guy Madame Eve sets me up with.”
“Me, too,” she lied. Though she had no doubt extraterrestrials existed somewhere in the wide expanse of the universe, they didn’t live on Earth and, therefore, could not be found for a 1Night Stand. Especially at such short notice. Her application would be rejected, leaving her worry free about another blind date. No money out of her pocket, and Lauren wouldn’t be hounding her all weekend about applying.
Melinda’s email tab blinked to show a new message. Her stomach rolled when she read the sender. She clicked over and opened an email from the owner of the matchmaking service. “I got a confirmation of receipt. Did you?”
Lauren sighed. “Yes. I thought she had arranged a date for me already, but I guess I was hoping for a lot, eh?”
“Considering she probably has several applications come in each day with all of those high-profile testimonials, I doubt we’ll hear anything until after the weekend.” Hopefully never, in her case.
While logged in, Melinda checked the rest of her inbox, deleting row after row of unimportant emails, nothing to take her mind off the numerous possible creeps she might be set up with. If, in fact, the woman found her a date. Maybe Madame Eve would set her up with a man who believed he came from another planet, one obsessed with space, the kind of guy her parents thought she wanted. They’d sweetly bought her a ticket for Fan Expo in Toronto last August, encouraging her to meet one. Epic fail. Dressed as Agent Carter, she’d had a guy claiming to be Captain America, wearing a beer case around his chest, stalk her the entire day.
In her other social media, a fan had mentioned being excited to meet her, a big squee in front with plenty of exclamation points. Such messages brightened her mood. Reader excitement fed her own and kept her muse’s ego soothed. She sent a quick reply. @LindaReads Looking forward to meeting you. I’ll be a Mad Hatter tonight. Be sure to find me. About to log off, Melinda noticed another message appear in her inbox. From Madame Eve again.
“Hey, did you receive a second confirmation?”
Lauren turned toward her, the side of her face scrunched in confusion. “No, did you?”
“I…I think so. Maybe.” Though the subjects were different. Your 1Night Stand the subject of the second said rather than Confirmation of receipt of 1Night Stand application.
“Let me see.” Lauren leaped from her bed to Melinda’s, not touching the floor on the way over.
Melinda waved her fingers over the touch pad. “There’s no way she could have found me a match already, or even read through everything I wrote. Should I click on it? I mean, what if it’s spam or a virus—I would lose all my stories.”
“Open it!” Lauren perched behind her, peering over her shoulder. “You backed up all your work before you left home, remember? Maybe Madame Eve predicted your application would come in today and is a speed reader. Who knows? Please don’t keep me waiting any longer.”
Hand vibrating from nerves, Melinda brought the pointer to the message, clicked, and read.
Bonjour Melinda,
I’ve been waiting a great deal of time for your application. I’ve had the perfect man for you all along. You will meet him at seven tonight in room 316 for dinner and an evening filled with whatever activities you choose. I have attached his photograph so you will know who you are meeting.
Affectuesement,
Madame Eve
Melinda’s lunch threatened to make a reappearance. This is all wrong. Her date had to be someone who believed himself an alien. No one else would match the description of her ideal man. Thank goodness she had a reason to cancel. “It’s not going to work tonight. I am having dinner with all of you, with my readers. I spent a lot of money on my Mad Hatter costume.”
Gripping her shoulder, Lauren squeezed. “Yes, I know, but you are going to skip it. No way I’m letting you pass on this opportunity. Besides, I’m sure your fans would love to read about how you met your happily-ever-after guy at a conference.” She clicked on the attachment. “Let’s see what this guy looks like.”
As the picture popped up on screen, they gasped, Melinda in pure shock.
“He’s hot.” Lauren leaned closer to the computer. “Look at those muscles. And such a strong jaw…. Wow! I’m so jealous. Can I pretend I’m you tonight?”
Melinda squinted at the screen, a headache developing in her temples. He wasn’t at all the man she’d expected to be matched up with. Not even a guy she’d expected to see again. “I know him. He’s my…. Oh God, I know him.”

Jessica E. Subject’s Writing Update ~ The LAST one!
Hello! It’s Tuesday, and time for this week’s Weekly Writing Update. I started doing these updates last September after a rough summer of little writing, and trying to get back on track and actually keep a record of what I’ve been writing. It was motivation for me to have some progress to share each week, and I hope it was exciting for you to see what I’ve been up to. In that time, I’ve released Cosmic Desires, Alien Attraction, Alien Next Door: The Complete Series, and Bryce. I’ve also revised and rereleased Accidental Romance and Made For Her. I also had stories release in the First Ladylove anthology and in the Portals Volume 6 sampler. And Beyond Reach is SO close to being finished.
But, this will be the last weekly update. I will do these monthly from now on, at the end of each month. For any events, sales, and new releases, I will post those on my blog immediately. They will not wait for the next update. They will also be shared in my newsletter. So, if you want to stay updated with what is going on, be sure to “Subscribe to my blog via email” in the sidebar, and/or subscribe to my newsletter.
BEYOND REACH
I am working on the last chapter. Yay! Then it will be edited, formatted, and released sometime in September. I should have another release in October. (More on that another time.)
READING
I’m still reading Invaded by Melissa Landers and listening to American Gods by Neil Gaiman when my son is not within listening distance.
GOALS FOR THE WEEK
More reading and more writing. And getting back on schedule. I hope.
Please share what you have been up to this week. Are you reading or writing anything new? Please share in the comments.

#8Sunday: Can Lalia escape the Erebus? ~ Excerpt from BRYCE #scifi #romance
Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!
I’m sticking with BRYCE for a couple more weeks. Last week I shared with you what Lalia was up to when Bryce was away with the Defenders, fighting the Erebus. I’m sharing another excerpt from that scene. Since last week, Lalia and Katrina have headed for the woods and found a little girl hiding there. Plus, Princess Lalia has twisted her ankle. The Erebus are still after them, and Lalia tells Katrina to take Gwenodyn (the other girl) to a bunker in the woods…
“Mom.” Katrina glanced back. “I can’t. I don’t know where I’m going.”
The call of their enemy rang out, shaking the trees. Too close.
“Run!” Lalia ignored the pain in her ankle as she sped up, grabbing Gwenodyn’s hand on her way past. She had to get the girls to safety. If she didn’t, she’d die trying.
