Just when she believes they are safe, she finds out the man she saved could possibly be more dangerous than the severe weather.
Donovan Goldwyn only wanted to hide from the police, but the hurricane shoved his car into a tree. Now he’s trapped with a beautiful woman while the evidence that can prove his innocence to a brutal crime is out there for anyone to find.
As Hurricane Sabrina wreaks havoc, Beth has no other choice but to trust Donovan to stay alive. But will she survive, or will she become another hurricane crime?

On the television set, which was fighting to stay alive, was breaking news. She caught bits and pieces of it as she emptied the bowl of blood-tainted water and threw out the cloth. It was about a high-speed chase that had occurred about a half-hour ago. Beth shook her head. Apparently, Donovan wasn’t the only idiot driving around during a hurricane.
She went back into the living room and began replacing all the medical supplies into the first-aid kit. Behind her, a reporter was explaining that the driver of the car was believed to be a murder suspect.
“The name of the—”
The lights flashed, prompting Beth to snatch up her flashlight.
“Donovan Goldwyn.”
Her fingers went cold around the plastic tube as ice frosted her veins. She straightened her spine and turned stiffly to the television, her heart wasn’t beating in her chest. On the screen was the picture of the man who was right now changing in her bedroom. Above it was a caption in bold letters that read—SUSPECT.
She gripped the flashlight in her frozen fingers. Her heart thudded fearfully. She stared into the immobilized violet eyes through the glass.
“Oh my god,” she gasped.
She had brought a murderer into her home!
Chrys Fey’s debut, Hurricane Crimes, was published by The Wild Rose Press. Mid 2014, she will be coming out with her second romantic-suspense eBook, 30 Seconds. She created the blog Write with Fey to offer aspiring writers advice and inspiration. She lives in Florida where she is ready to battle the next hurricane that comes her way.

Some vacation. Nothing but snow for miles. I might as well have been visiting the North Pole with all the layers of clothing I had on. And, somehow, the cold wind still managed to find the small amount of face I didn’t have covered, stinging the skin around my eyes.
“Are we almost there?” I could barely see five feet in front of me, only the mountain of a man directly ahead. If he slowed down for one second, I’d grab his coat with one hand and cover the rest of my face with my free arm. But if I didn’t keep up, I’d get lost in the blizzard. “Seriously, is the place I’m staying anywhere nearby?” Every other hotel I’d stayed at had the check-in desk within the building. Apparently not this one.
The man didn’t respond, kept walking, guiding me, hopefully, to the glass igloo where my grandmother held a timeshare.
“Get away for a few days, Heather,” she’d said, handing me the plane ticket to Finland and shoving me out the door. “You’ll have a lot of fun and forget about your scum of a cheating fiancé. It’s been a year since you kicked him out. Time to move on. Show off your new curves.”
Sure, curves that I’d gained from spending a week eating nothing but ice cream. Not only had I gained ten pounds, but I’d started crying Ben & Jerry’s. It still hadn’t helped my pain. I’d loved Todd and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Unfortunately, my love hadn’t been returned. But, a trip wouldn’t make me forget what I’d walked in on two days before Christmas.
I’d tried to return the tickets. “Snow and cold really aren’t my thing, Grandma.” Give me a tropical beach somewhere with tanned, muscled men, and I’d at least try to get over Todd.
Refusing to take them back, she’d only patted my hands. “You’ll be surprised how much fun it is in Lapland. I would go, but I’m getting too old to enjoy the…amenities. It’s your turn now.” She winked and shut the door behind her.
And there I was, trekking through the knee-deep snow north of the Arctic Circle, dreading the blanket of white and cold I expected to last my entire vacation.

Satin Sheets in Space
A 1Night Stand story
Erotic Sci-Fi MFM Ménage Romance
ISBN: 978-1613332962
Danyka’s unusual height and radiant red hair earn her the cold shoulder from any guy she approaches, unless he wants to experiment with a giant. So when her boss sets up on a one night stand, she hopes for a prince but expects the usual toad.
As a captivating stranger whisks her away from the ball and introduces her to his equally gorgeous brother, she fears her fantasies have become a nightmare. Has she finally given into impulse only to become a lab rat in an unknown world?
Chapter One
Danyka’s eyes flew open. The phone danced around on her nightstand. The numbers on her alarm clock blurred and came into focus. Seven o’clock. Shit! She’d meant to nap for an hour, but had slept for three. She fumbled for the device, but it stopped before she could reach it.
Eighties pop music jived from her Android again, sending it into another jig. Grabbing the phone, she pressed it against her head. “Hello?”
“Dany, where are you?” Her friend, Ellie, squealed on the other end.
Danyka yanked the phone from her ear and rubbed, before listening again.
“We’re waiting outside—in the limo.”
Double shit. She needed a shower and time to dress in her eighteenth-century inspired designer gown. Closing her eyes, she pinched the bridge of her nose and fell back on the bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to gain some control over her body. “Give me half an hour to get ready. Can you come back?”
Ellie sighed. “Fine, it’s your dollar. See you in a bit.”
No, it wasn’t her dollar, but her boss’s. Personal assistant to Josh Summers, film producer, she’d intended to enjoy her two weeks off—while he traveled across Europe on his honeymoon—and her sizable bonus. She’d picked up the envelope that had held the extra cash and three tickets to the Kartha Studio’s charity ball and pulled out a note.
Danyka,
Take two friends and have fun! Connie from Connie’s Couture, will take care of all of your gowns, and a limo will provide transportation there and home (if you need it then). Enjoy yourself while I’m gone, because we’ll be working crazy hours when Tamara and I get back.
Thanks for your dedication these last two years!
Josh
She’d fist-pumped the air before spinning in circles around her apartment when she’d read it. The ball would be A-list celebrities and industry giants from wall-to-wall. She’d phoned her friends, Ellie and Vanessa, right away, barely able to contain her excitement. But when they’d visited Connie’s to find dresses, she’d been filled with a sense of dread, reminded again of her freakish size. While she’d been granted womanly curves and a considerable bust, she towered over most men. She even had a couple of inches on Josh.
He’d never seemed to care, but when it came to finding a boyfriend, or even a date, her options were limited. Any guy she’d met taller than herself seemed to prefer women half her size. Those shorter than her gawked from a distance, but their eyes bulged out of their sockets when she approached them. On occasion, a short slimeball would come on to her, wondering what it would be like to do a giant. There would be civilized, respectable men at the ball. At least, she hoped so. In the end though, she expected to spend the night alone.
Her friends had found their dream gowns after trying on what seemed like hundreds of dresses, but she hadn’t had a single choice. There had been one she’d admired. Connie took her measurements and promised to search for a similar one in her size. Instead, on the day she went to pick it up, the woman had surprised her with a custom-made dress.
Sliding off the bed, she groaned. Her knees were already sore from the impending precipitation. Her joints were as good a gauge as any other high-tech gadget to measure the barometric pressure. Plus, she planned to wear heels the entire night, making it a double-whammy. There had better be someplace to sit down, because it’s not as if anyone is going to ask me to dance anyway.
After a quick shower, she pinned her hair up, sprinkled glitter all over, and slipped on a black thong. Then she carefully placed her pasties. Okay, time for the gown.
Unzipping the polyester bag, she gasped. The magnificence of the dress still shocked her every time she saw it. She brushed her hand across the pleated red silk of the skirt. But she didn’t have time to bask in its elegance. At least not until she had it on. She stepped into her red net petticoat, sliding it up to her waist, and spun in a circle. Oh, how she missed her childhood ballet classes. Even then, she’d towered over the rest of the students. Though classes hadn’t made her any less clumsy, as her parents had hoped, the friends she’d made there never let her believe she was anything less than a prima ballerina. As they pirouetted in front of the mirrors, in leotards and tutus, she’d forget her size.
With her stature and blazing auburn hair, she always attracted unfavorable attention. Tonight, though, she wanted people to stare, and maybe, just maybe, her knight in shining armor would arrive to sweep her off her feet.
She wiggled the skirt on and brushed her hands down the material to smooth it out. Almost ready.
Deciding to forgo the detachable straps, Danyka wrapped the red silk corset around her torso, buttoning it up in the front. With a squeal of delight, she raced to the mirror.
She couldn’t help but twirl like a little girl. Before this moment, nothing in her life had resembled a fairy tale, except landing the position as Josh’s assistant. At the age of sixteen, she’d been orphaned when her parents died in a horrific car accident. Her aunt had agreed to take her in, rather than sending her to a group home, but the woman had spent as little time with her as possible, always busy planning some important event.
With her back toward the mirror, Danyka caught sight of the ink on her right shoulder. The Milky Way—a tribute to her and her dad’s shared love for space and science fiction. The day she’d come home with her first tattoo, her aunt had decided she should find an apartment of her own. Lucky for her, Ellie and Vanessa, classmates from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, had needed a roommate. They’d since graduated and found their own places, but remained close as they made their way in the real world.
She suspected her interests made her a perfect fit for Josh, a former sci-fi television star, now producing his own space flick. The tattoo had never bothered him, but would it be inappropriate at a charity ball? Why hadn’t she thought of that earlier? She didn’t have time to have her mark covered up. No, the ink would be just another way for her to stand out in the crowd.
Once she’d applied her make-up, she fished in her closet and pulled out her brand new black slingbacks—matching the lacing on the back of her dress—still in their box. They’d probably be off again in a couple of hours. She and heels never got along. When she opened the box, a small brown paper package lay on top. Where did that come from?
The bag felt weightless in her palm. She removed a small piece of tape, letting a handkerchief and note fall to the floor. The red silk material could have been made from the same fabric as her dress, her initials DAR embroidered in the corner with black thread. Combined with the gown, shoes, and her awaiting carriage, the silk accessory completed her transformation into a princess. All she needed was a Prince Charming.
After a quick glance at the clock, she picked up the note. She had seconds to read it before fashionably late turned into rude. Although the paper came from Josh’s personalized notepad, the handwriting did not match that of her boss.
Danyka,
I hope you enjoy yourself at the Kartha Ball tonight! As we figured Ellie and Vanessa would be going with you, we have an extra special surprise for you and you alone. Although Josh and I don’t discuss this with anyone, we met through a dating service called 1Night Stand. The owner, Madame Evangeline, has matched up not only us, but many of my close friends. We have arranged for you to go on one of these dates tonight. We hope we have not overstepped our bounds, but we consider you part of our family and want to see you happy.
Your date, whoever he may be, will meet you at the ball.
Have a wonderful time, and enjoy the rest of your holidays!
Tamara
They had arranged a date for her? She restrained the urge to jump up and down and whoop in delight, blowing out a breath and remaining calm. Another part of her cringed. Was she so desperate she had to rely on a matchmaking service to find a man? A one-night stand at that?
Her gaze shifted to her nightstand, the drawer inside filled with vibrators, rubber dildos, and more. Oh yeah, that screamed desperation. All right, Eve, bring on a real man.
She set the note down on the bed. Grabbing her clutch on the way out the door, she couldn’t help but smile. She might not be off to meet the man she would marry, but she hoped to end the night completely satisfied.

A Favorite Read of 2014 ~ The Ophelia Prophecy by Sharon Lynn Fisher @SharonFisher

The Ophelia Prophecy
by Sharon Lynn Fisher
A thrilling new sci-fi romance from the author of 2013 RWA RITA finalist Ghost Planet…
Our world is no longer our own. We engineered a race of superior fighters — the Manti, mutant humans with insect-like abilities. Twenty-five years ago they all but destroyed us. In Sanctuary, some of us survive. Eking out our existence. Clinging to the past.
Some of us intend to do more than survive.
Asha and Pax — strangers and enemies — find themselves stranded together on the border of the last human city, neither with a memory of how they got there.
Asha is an archivist working to preserve humanity’s most valuable resource — information — viewed as the only means of resurrecting their society.
Pax is Manti, his Scarab ship a menacing presence in the skies over Sanctuary, keeping the last dregs of humanity in check.
Neither of them is really what they seem, and what humanity believes about the Manti is a lie.
With their hearts and fates on a collision course, they must unlock each other’s secrets and forge a bond of trust before a rekindled conflict pushes their two races into repeating the mistakes of the past.

An RWA RITA Award finalist and a three-time RWA Golden Heart Award finalist, Sharon Lynn Fisher lives in the Pacific Northwest. She writes books for the geeky at heart – sci-fi flavored stories full of adventure and romance - and battles writerly angst with baked goods, Irish tea, and champagne. Her works include Ghost Planet (2012), The Ophelia Prophecy (2014), and Echo 8 (2015).
Website | Facebook | Twitter | Goodreads

I have to admit, this is totally my kind of story. When Ms. Fisher mentioned how Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein helped to inspire The Ophelia Prophecy, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but thought the story might be more on the paranormal side. It’s not. The Ophelia Prophecy is in many ways an alien invasion story, only the aliens aren’t from space. They are insect-human hybrids, created by scientists for use in the military. Only the insect hybrids took over, and the human population has been greatly reduced. But a prophecy predicts change. Will the humans be strong enough to tople the Manti government?
The Ophelia Prophecy is also a story about forbidden love, a Romeo and Juliet type pairing, yet drastically different at the same time. Two enemies are thrown together under strange circumstances. But by each other’s side, they must deal with betrayal from everywhere (even each other), and fight for their lives. Through these circumstances, they learn to trust each other, and grow closer than they ever expected.
The world-building in this story is exquisite. While I wouldn’t want to live there, I’d definitely like to visit it again in another story, or for some of the characters to visit here, especially a sexy Manti named Pax.
I loved The Ophelia Prophecy just as much as Ms. Fisher’s debut release, Ghost Planet. I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys action, science fiction, and/or a great love story. It is one I’ll read again and again.
*I won an ARC of The Ophelia Prophecy from the author.

What Readers are saying:
“If you’re looking for a read that can balance titillation with a meditation on the double-edged sword of intimacy – fear of it, and desire for it – this is the story for you.” ~ Amazon.com review
“The sex is hot, the story and characters are believable. Can’t ask for much more!” ~ Amazon.com review
As wonderful as their time together had been, something nagged at him. He tried to brush off any apprehension as residual first-date jitters or the exhilaration of embarking on a new relationship. But the voice refused to be silenced, forcing him to discover its message.
Throughout their date, the air of familiarity had never disappeared from his companion. No one by the name of Samantha Coburn had ever crossed his path before, but that hadn’t lessened his curiosity. Brendan stared at the top of her head, at the tousled chestnut waves, the angled contour of her chin…he’d seen her before, was certain of it. But where? And when?
He closed his eyes, desperate to jar his subconscious into cooperating. The pieces lay before him, he simply needed to figure out how they fit together. The memory of her voice reverberated in his ears, telling tales about sprawling European capitals and quiet rural gardens. Where in the world had their lives intersected?
She stirred in his embrace, but didn’t wake. Her eyelashes fluttered across his chest, a wispy, ethereal touch. Like the butterflies she’d always loved….
Realization slammed into him, whisking the air from his lungs. He recognized her.

Countdown to HIS #ALIENVIRGIN ~ 1 day before release #NewAdult
Hello! Thank you for joining me for day five of my new release countdown!
Today, I’m sharing the playlist for HIS ALIEN VIRGIN over at Literary Lagniappe. Be sure to stop by for your chance to WIN a signed print edition of Intergalactic Heat, an anthology of my first five 1Night Stand stories.
Also, there is a Facebook Party happening tonight from 9PM EST to 11 PM EST. It is for all of the March new releases at Decadent Publishing. I will be there at the beginning. Hope to see you there!
Here’s excerpt five from His Alien Virgin:
“Skylar?”
The voice came like a gift from the gods. A petite female with long blonde hair glided toward her, resembling the dolls the Terrans called Barbie. The woman’s eyes were softer than those of the man who’d escorted her in. “Please tell me you are Skylar.”
Skylar ran her hands down her arms. “Um, yes.”
The Terran pressed a hand to her chest. “Oh, thank goodness.” She glanced past Skylar. “Thank you for finding her, Preston. I’ll take her from here.”
He bowed then strolled back outside.
She smiled at Skylar. “Hi, I’m Leah Castillo. I’ve been worried sick since I learned of your accident.” She wrapped her arms around her and squeezed.
Skylar hugged her back, remembering the personal welcome Danyka had also given her, contact she preferred over the grope of a space pirate. “I didn’t think I would make it, but somehow I did.”
Leah’s grin widened, and she linked her arms with Skylar’s. “Madame Eve said you were resourceful. She didn’t have any doubts you’d make it here.” Leah guided her across the grand entryway. “She’s been in contact with your brothers and she wishes you a magical evening.”
Skylar released a heavy breath, filled with a sudden lightness. “Thank you. To you, and Madame Evangeline. After the…accident, I expected all of my plans to go up in flames.”
“Well, we’re glad you arrived in one piece. Now, let’s get you cleaned up for your date.” Leah led her down a corridor, and into a small room.
Another woman waited for them, her hair a bright pink and lips painted green. And I thought I would stand out on this planet.
Leah led her to a black pedestal chair, gesturing toward it.
“Cherise, I’d like you to meet Skylar. She had a bit of a rough time getting here, and I’d appreciate if you can help her freshen up for her evening.”
Cherise nodded slowly and reached for a strand of Skylar’s hair, letting it run through her fingers. “I like her style already. This will be fun.”
Fun? What did the female have planned for her? Skylar needed only a change of clothes.
“Then I’ll leave her in your capable hands.” Leah touched her shoulder. “I’m sorry, Skylar, but I have a wedding to attend to. Cherise will ensure you meet Daran on time.”
“Daran?” Was that her date? She cringed at the familiar name. She’d once known a man named Daran, but it had been many star cycles since she’d seen him outside of her fantasies. Could he be one and the same? No, not on Earth. The Daran she’d known rarely flew anywhere due to his fear of heights. He’d never leave the atmosphere of their home planet, let alone travel to another galaxy.
But, who is the Daran I’m meeting? And what would he think when he finds out his love for the night is an alien?
Leah gasped. “Oh, I shouldn’t have told you. He may not even be your date. I just assumed….” She shook her head. “If he’s the man you’re meeting, you’re a lucky woman. He’s very sweet and kind.”
“Um-hmm,” Cherise said, her eyes brightening. “A big teddy bear. A hunky, sexy teddy bear that I would gladly lick chocolate off of if I didn’t already have my own Prince Charming.”
Leah chuckled. “I’ve really got to go. Enjoy your evening, Skylar.” She waved and left.
Skylar closed her eyes, taking a calming breath. This Daran, whoever he was, had received the approval of two women, so he couldn’t be too bad. She only hoped he approved of her.
Cherise tapped her hand on the back of a chair. “Come, sit down. First, I’ll work on your hair and makeup.” She poured a creamy white liquid on a cotton pad and brought it to Skylar’s lips.
With each scrub, Skylar winced. The color would not come off.
“Wow, this is really resistant makeup. I’m not able to remove any of it.”
“It’s, um, permanent.”
The woman dropped the pad. “Oh, I’m sorry. Did you really have your lips tattooed?”
Tattooed? She’d missed that term in her research of Earth. “Sure.” Hopefully that explanation worked. Thank the gods she didn’t have blue skin like her stepbrothers.
“Wow, you’re brave. I’m sure that hurt.” Cherise grabbed a brush. “Okay, let’s work on the hair then. I’m just going to give it a quick trim then pin it up. After that, we’ll pick out an outfit that will have Daran drooling the second he sees you.”
Drooling? She didn’t want a guy to drool when he saw her. That’s what the pirate had done when he’d come to Rebed looking for a wife. She just wanted to fit in on Earth and maybe, if she was lucky, find true love.

Countdown to HIS #ALIENVIRGIN ~ 2 days before release #NewAdult
Hello! Thank you for joining me for day four of my new release countdown!
I’m participating in Alicia Dean’s Want, Wed, Waste. The topic is Boy Band Members – Justin Timberlake, Mark Wahlburg & Ricky Martin. Stop by and make your choice!
Here’s excerpt four from His Alien Virgin:
Gobbling gas stars! People rushed to and fro, wearing much less than she did. Feathers swayed in headdresses of a multitude of colors, the plumes wrapping around their arms and legs as well. Many had blue hair like hers, or tresses in a variety of other bright hues. Maybe she wouldn’t stand out like a quasar in space.
Dashing into the crowd, Skylar kept her focus straight ahead, not daring to meet the gaze of anyone she passed. If she could avoid attracting attention from the locals, they wouldn’t know where she’d just arrived from. No one could know. Madame Eve had promised not to tell anyone her secret. She wanted one night of passion with a Terran, to understand why her brothers had traveled across the galaxy in the first place. To experience love, not the forced relationship she would have been part of if she’d remained on Rebed.
And then what? Danyka had agreed to travel through space with Galan and Volan, but Skylar didn’t have a way off the planet to take anyone with her. And what if her date didn’t like her?
This was such a stupid idea. Although she’d acted out of utter fear to escape, she hadn’t thought the scheme through.
Skylar glanced up at the flashing lights. Castillo shone brightly above her. She’d reached her destination, yet, struggled to fight the urge to spin on her heels and run. The evening had already turned to rubbish. Her only option was to press the tracking beacon on Galan’s wristband and wait for him to rescue her.
No! She would not retreat. She’d come there for the date, and she would have it. Afterward, she’d figure out where to go.
But right then, she needed to waltz into the hotel and find the man who would provide her first sexual experience.
“Excuse me, miss. Can I help you?”
She glanced to her right. A Terran dressed in black and gold stared at her. His raised, wiry gray eyebrows matched the hair on his head, and wrinkles lined the skin around his beady eyes. He represented yet another obstacle.
“I…I’m here for a….” Date. She refused to tell anyone about her one-night stand. Just one more thing to make people give her a closer inspection. “I’m here to meet someone.”
He eyed her raggedy clothing. “Surely not dressed like that.”
Oh, gods, this is the end. Someone is bound to find out about my date and my origins. “I had a little accident on my way here.” Little? More like catastrophic. But she wasn’t about to tell the man she’d crashed a spaceship.
He sized her up once more. “I’ll escort you to the front desk, and you can call up to the guest you are here to meet. But if I find out you haven’t told me the truth, you will be quickly returned to the street.”
She gulped. Did her date even know she was coming? She hadn’t been told anything about him. How could she call up to him when she didn’t know his name?
The man held the door open and waved her inside. When she slipped into the hotel, he fell in step beside her as if afraid she’d cause trouble if he strayed too far. “So, who are you here to meet?”
A sweat washed over her and her fingers numbed. Chewing her bottom lip, she shook her head. “I don’t know.” Tensing, she waited for him to throw her out, to send her back out into the street to fend for herself.
