A million needles pierced her wrist. She had to get away from the fire. Leanne flicked open her eyes, screaming, longing for the agony to stop.

White walls surrounded her. Machines beeped. Taking in the new scenery, she closed her mouth, the pain forgotten. Bags filled with clear liquids as well as blood hung from a metal pole. She followed the tubes from the bags into her left hand. Was that where the burn came from? She glanced at the other arm, the end of which was wrapped in thick bandages. The image of spinning blades and her mangled flesh flashed before her eyes. She screamed again, tears falling down her cheeks. This can’t be happening.

Bodies rushed into the room, many in scrubs. With her vision blurred, she didn’t recognize anyone. All strangers. She was in the foreign place by herself. A nightmare. Has to be.

“Shh, calm down, sweetie. You’ll be okay.”

A familiar voice. She glanced to her other side to see her mom standing beside her, her eyes glassy. She held her hand, but Leanne couldn’t feel it, only the throbbing which had returned to her other one, the one that was…gone? She groaned, turning on her side, and pulled her knees up to her chest.

“Mom, is it really…?”

She brushed her fingers over her forehead. “Don’t worry about it right now. You need to rest.”

“It hurts so bad.”

“I know.” Her mother stroked her face again. “But the nurses will help it go away.”

“Leanne,” one of the nurses hovering around her said. “I want you to take deep breaths and count backward from ten.”

“Ten.” She sucked in air and cried out in agony.

Between clenched teeth, she continued. Anything to stop the pain. “Nine.”

Ice traveled through her veins. “Eight.”

The throbbing slowly ebbed away. Seven.

Darkness swept over her and pulled her down with it.

After her accident, he still finds her sexy ~ ACCIDENTAL ROMANCE #NewAdult #MySexySaturday

My Sexy Saturday

Hello everyone! Thank you for joining me for the 44th week of My Sexy Saturday.

Have you ever created or read about a character who for some reason has lost that sexy feeling? Then suddenly, something happens and they are sexy once again? I’m sure many of you have heard about it. After all, there have been many popular movies about it.  Those stories are all about the characters. Something has happened in their lives that they don’t think they will ever come back from it.

This week, we’re sharing those characters who are coming back and sexy once again. They may not even realize they are back as it may be surprising. These are the characters that appeal to all and each are different in lots of ways. Show us the characters that make our hearts sing, make us cry, make us wish for a better tomorrow…for them.

This week, I’m sharing seven from ACCIDENTAL ROMANCE.

Accidental Romance - a New Adult Romance by Jessica E. Subject

Set-up: In this New Adult Romance, Leanne has lost her hand in a grain auger accident. Though, she thought her dreams of taking over the dairy farm for her father are over, the farmhand, Jake, won’t let her give up.

She grabbed the jug of teat cleaner. Wrapping her bandaged arm around the jug, she used her hand to loosen the lid. But it wouldn’t budge. Someone had tightened it too much. She twisted again, grunting as she wrenched on the lid. Nothing. “Fuck!”

A tear trickled down her cheek. She couldn’t help it. Even the most basic things proved difficult for her now. If she couldn’t even get the jug open, how was she supposed to do anything else? She dropped it on the counter, tempted to pitch it across the room. It’s too soon for me to be in here.

She turned to leave and slammed right into Jake. He wrapped his arms around her. “Where are you going so fast, LA?”

“I can’t do this. I shouldn’t be here.” She began to shake against him. “I can’t do anything anymore.”

“Yes, you can.” He stepped back and stroked her cheeks, using his thumbs to brush away her tears. “This is exactly why you need to be out here. Sure, you can’t do everything, but you just fed the girls.”

She focused on his chin, unable to meet his gaze, afraid what would happen if she did. “I couldn’t open the jug.”

“Then ask for help.” He kissed her forehead then let go, squeezing past her into the room.“That’s what we’re here for.” He pulled her over to the counter. “But don’t ever give up.”

An Unexpected Return

Erotic Sci-Fi Romance

Looking to experience all the universe has to offer, Prince Aristides escapes from the kingdom of Tyto and travels through space to the Emerald Planet, Elatia. He yearns to partake in the activities the planet is famous for, and fulfill all his sexual desires, but loses his heart and soul to an Adamos apprentice. Unfortunately, she is Terran, and her people are sworn enemies of those from Tyto. If he can convince Xia to give up her dreams of becoming an Adamos, and travel back to Tyto with him, will his parents accept her, or condemn them both?

Abandoned as a toddler on Elatia, and raised by Kalara, an Adamos specializing in erotic massage, Xia decides to follow in her footsteps. But she remains conflicted as to whether she wants to service clients for the rest of her life, or settle down and raise a family. When she meets Aris, he turns the tables on her, and brings her as much pleasure as she gives him.

Will they have their chance to be together, or will their families tear them away from any chance of young love?

Chapter One

Benignus eyed him, as if confident he would change his mind. “Aristides, are you certain you want to go through with this?”

Grinning at his fair-haired friend, Aristides had no doubt. He’d made his decision long ago. “Yes, go in there and enjoy the woman you have craved for more than two star cycles. I have no use for her.”

“And when the king comes in?” Benignus scanned the tapestry-rich corridors of the castle’s west wing. “I know he’s going to send me to Claustrum.”

“He’s not going to send you to the prison colony.” No one had been sent there from Tyto, ever. The planet was simply used as an idle threat to misbehaving children. Aristides placed his hands on his friend’s shoulders. “I give you permission to deflower my betrothed. She will be yours, as it should have always been. Just be sure she is on top when we come into the room.”

He slid open the door to his grand suite, a place he would not return to any time soon, not before experiencing what the universe had to offer. “She waits for you. Now, go in there and take her.”

His friend and gentleman of the bedchamber patted him on the back. “Thank you, Aris, and star’s speed.”

After shoving Benignus through the door, Aristides waited in the hollow silence—usual for this part of the castle—for some indication his plan had worked before leaving to search for his father. Through the darkness engulfing his room, he couldn’t see a thing, but the sounds of wet lips in action caught his attention.

His cock stirred. Almost there.

Rubbing his hands down his arms, he tried to escape the chill common to the kingdom. The sun didn’t shine underground and fires only burned in the kitchen and the north wing, where his parents slept.

“Oh, Aristides, I’m so glad you decided to deflower me before our wedding night. Take me this instant.”

Don’t fail me now, Ben.

“No, Madelia. It’s me, Ben. Don’t worry. No one will know.”

“Oh, even better. Will Aris be joining us?”

A threesome? Oh, gods. Could he get any harder? He and Ben often discussed sex, what their first time would be like, and whom they wanted to lose their virginity to. Sure, they’d had their rods sucked by the mouths of many fair maidens, touched the girls in their most intimate places, everything but the final penetration. They’d each been told to save themselves for their one true love, the woman they wanted to marry. Oh, he’d had plenty of offers, but sure as Terrans hated Otarians, the woman would babble about having her cherry popped by the prince, and he’d find himself chained to a female he’d only used to get off.

Ben, though, had always been fond of Madelia. Yet she had never shown any interest in him before tonight. And once she’d been betrothed to Aris, she’d become a constant thorn in his side. He refused to betray his best friend.

He’d plotted this night ever since his wedding date had been set, for no matter how hard he tried, he could never care for Madelia. Watching his parents pretending to love each other over the years had been enough for him. No way in Claustrum did he want the same thing for himself. And then, he’d heard rumors of how they spent their holidays on the planet Elatia, in the Belverian system, receiving sexual pleasure from the revered Adamos. That was where he planned to travel. He wanted to experience every sensation before he settled down with anyone, if, of course, he found someone he could love.

No one on Tyto appealed to him. They were all too needy, not willing to get their hands dirty with work until forced to upon their twentieth birthdays. Then they became bitter with him because of his father’s decree, and invariably left him to search for an older man wanting to make a family. He could care less what they did with their lives. Once his marriage was called off, he planned to sneak away from Tyto and get busy living.

A whimper broke the silence. “Oh, Benignus, how you fill me so.”

His cock jumped, demanding attention. He’d love no more than to watch them fuck, stroking himself, but then he’d never get a chance to leave. Time for the next phase.

Rushing down the corridor, he ignored the lavish silks of purple and gold hanging on the walls, for the extravagance did not suit him. He wanted to rule his father’s kingdom on Tyto, the moon of Otaria, no more than he wanted Madelia as his queen. Not until he was ready to settle down. The excessiveness of this lifestyle had never held any appeal to him anyway. Even as a child, he’d preferred to explore the caves of Tyto with the common children, or stow away on a supply ship to visit other planets, only to be dragged back home by his guard.

Reaching his father’s study, he burst through the door. The warmth hit him like a brick wall. He drew in a quick breath. “Father, I need your help. Benignus is very ill. He’s been in the lavatory with the sickness. I believe he ate some tainted food.”

The king peered up, examining him. “No one else has shown any signs of the sickness. Seriously, at twenty-one star cycles, I would expect the two of you to have outgrown your antics. What kind of trouble have you gotten into this time?”

“No trouble at all, sir. Please help him. I have him resting in my bed now, but he is too ill to move to his own quarters.”

“Thornton!”

The stout man—and the only Terran friendly with his father—entered the room as soon as the king beckoned. “Yes, Your Majesty?”

“Fetch the doctor and bring him up to the prince’s quarters.” The king stood up, his purple robe billowing behind him. “Let’s go.”

Aristides hurried to follow his father, hoping Benignus had stuck to the plan and would last long enough to get caught.

“Were you in those caves again? You know the black magic there causes the sickness.”

He sighed. The humid caves were filled with bacteria, occasionally causing visitors to become sick if they didn’t wash after returning from them. His father, though, preferred to live in his fantasy world. “No, Father, we went directly to my quarters after dinner.”

“Honestly, you two cause more trouble than any common child.”

His father reached his suite first. The lights flashed on and in an instant, they were treated to a view of Madelia, who sat on top of Benignus, speared by his cock.

“What is the meaning of this?” The king’s face turned from its usual shade of blue to bright red, heat radiating from his body even in the cooler part of the castle.

Benignus scrambled out from under Madelia. He held his stomach. “I was there lying on the bed and she climbed on top of me. I was too weak to push her off.”

Smirking behind his father, Aristides winked at his friend.

Madelia chose that moment to turn around and glare at him.

“And you, woman?” the king asked.

She cowered under his father’s glare. “I thought he was…. Oh, fuck. I was set up.”

“No one talks like that to me or anyone while on my land.”

Everyone cringed. His father hadn’t been born into a kingdom, but had given himself the title after settling on Tyto. He’d been the president of Otaria, and when he and his followers left for the moon, he’d changed his title to king, and declared the state a monarchy. Though Aris had never understood why his father left in the first place. Every picture he’d seen of his birth planet, the luscious forests and open sky, had left him with an ache to flee from Tyto.

But oh gods, his childhood had been hell, growing up in the cold-climate underworld. He’d been a toddler when his father moved him there. He grew up speaking in the “proper manner,” yet his schoolmates spoke in the old world way. He’d learned the rough dialect and every curse word, yet he took care to revert back to the royal tongue when at home in the castle. He couldn’t wait to leave.

“Aristides.” His father pulled him forward. “Since she is your betrothed, you must decide her fate.”

Just as he’d hoped.

He stuck out his chest, attempting to appear noble while his insides jumped for joy. “Since Madelia deflowered herself with my gentleman of the bedchamber, she shall be bound to him for the rest of her life.”

“Then let it be so,” the king proclaimed.

Benignus grinned. He finally had the woman he’d always wanted. Aris yearned to find an ounce of his friend’s happiness.

“Gentleman of the bedchamber, my ass. More like jack-off partner,” Madelia muttered. “At least he knows how to fuck,” she said, tossing her comment in Aristides’ direction.

Thornton and the doctor appeared at the door, panting like Terran dogs. “Is everything all right, Your Majesty?”

Time to go. He refused to stick around for Ben’s betrothal ceremony, for surely they would have another woman for him by then, too.

“Prince Aristides, where are you going?”

Shit! He refused to turn around and acknowledge his father’s question, for the man would never chase after him. And the two men who would still had to catch their breath.

Aristides rushed to the south wing and down a flight of stairs, toward his waiting Personal Space Transport Vehicle. He’d already packed clothing appropriate for Elatia’s warmer climate and enough nourishment to last his entire journey inside the PSTV.

He climbed in. After starting the engines, Aristides steered the ship up the narrow rock tunnel and out into space. The fold that would take him to the Belverian system lay straight ahead.

So long, Tyto. I’m off to the Emerald planet.

SATIN SHEETS IN SPACE is TWO! Read the first chapter… #FREEread #bookbirthday

Satin Sheets in Space by Jessica E. Subject, an erotic sci-fi romance menageHello! Today I’m celebrating the two year book birthday of my fourth 1Night Stand story, Satin Sheets in Space. For those who don’t know, the characters in this story play a role in my new release, His Alien Virgin.

I’ve shared excerpts here and there from Satin Sheets in Space over the past two years, but today, I’m going to share the entire first chapter. But, before I do, here’s a little about the story:

Satin Sheets in Space

a 1Night Stand story

Danyka’s unusual height and radiant red hair earn her the cold shoulder from any guy she approaches, unless he wants to experiment with a giant. So when her boss sets up on a one night stand, she hopes for a prince but expects the usual toad.

As a captivating stranger whisks her away from the ball and introduces her to his equally gorgeous brother, she fears her fantasies have become a nightmare. Has she finally given into impulse only to become a lab rat in an unknown world?

Chapter One

Danyka’s eyes flew open. The phone danced around on her nightstand. The numbers on her alarm clock blurred and came into focus. Seven o’clock. Shit! She’d meant to nap for an hour, but had slept for three. She fumbled for the device, but it stopped before she could reach it.

Eighties pop music jived from her Android again, sending it into another jig. Grabbing the phone, she pressed it against her head. “Hello?”

“Dany, where are you?” Her friend, Ellie, squealed on the other end.

Danyka yanked the phone from her ear and rubbed, before listening again.

“We’re waiting outside—in the limo.”

Double shit. She needed a shower and time to dress in her eighteenth-century inspired designer gown. Closing her eyes, she pinched the bridge of her nose and fell back on the bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to gain some control over her body. “Give me half an hour to get ready. Can you come back?”

Ellie sighed. “Fine, it’s your dollar. See you in a bit.”

No, it wasn’t her dollar, but her boss’s. Personal assistant to Josh Summers, film producer, she’d intended to enjoy her two weeks off—while he traveled across Europe on his honeymoon—and her sizable bonus. She’d picked up the envelope that had held the extra cash and three tickets to the Kartha Studio’s charity ball and pulled out a note.

Danyka,

Take two friends and have fun! Connie from Connie’s Couture, will take care of all of your gowns, and a limo will provide transportation there and home (if you need it then). Enjoy yourself while I’m gone, because we’ll be working crazy hours when Tamara and I get back.

Thanks for your dedication these last two years!

Josh

She’d fist-pumped the air before spinning in circles around her apartment when she’d read it. The ball would be A-list celebrities and industry giants from wall-to-wall. She’d phoned her friends, Ellie and Vanessa, right away, barely able to contain her excitement. But when they’d visited Connie’s to find dresses, she’d been filled with a sense of dread, reminded again of her freakish size. While she’d been granted womanly curves and a considerable bust, she towered over most men. She even had a couple of inches on Josh.

He’d never seemed to care, but when it came to finding a boyfriend, or even a date, her options were limited. Any guy she’d met taller than herself seemed to prefer women half her size. Those shorter than her gawked from a distance, but their eyes bulged out of their sockets when she approached them. On occasion, a short slimeball would come on to her, wondering what it would be like to do a giant. There would be civilized, respectable men at the ball. At least, she hoped so. In the end though, she expected to spend the night alone.

Her friends had found their dream gowns after trying on what seemed like hundreds of dresses, but she hadn’t had a single choice. There had been one she’d admired. Connie took her measurements and promised to search for a similar one in her size. Instead, on the day she went to pick it up, the woman had surprised her with a custom-made dress.

Sliding off the bed, she groaned. Her knees were already sore from the impending precipitation. Her joints were as good a gauge as any other high-tech gadget to measure the barometric pressure. Plus, she planned to wear heels the entire night, making it a double-whammy. There had better be someplace to sit down, because it’s not as if anyone is going to ask me to dance anyway.

After a quick shower, she pinned her hair up, sprinkled glitter all over, and slipped on a black thong. Then she carefully placed her pasties. Okay, time for the gown.

Unzipping the polyester bag, she gasped. The magnificence of the dress still shocked her every time she saw it. She brushed her hand across the pleated red silk of the skirt. But she didn’t have time to bask in its elegance. At least not until she had it on. She stepped into her red net petticoat, sliding it up to her waist, and spun in a circle. Oh, how she missed her childhood ballet classes. Even then, she’d towered over the rest of the students. Though classes hadn’t made her any less clumsy, as her parents had hoped, the friends she’d made there never let her believe she was anything less than a prima ballerina. As they pirouetted in front of the mirrors, in leotards and tutus, she’d forget her size.

With her stature and blazing auburn hair, she always attracted unfavorable attention. Tonight, though, she wanted people to stare, and maybe, just maybe, her knight in shining armor would arrive to sweep her off her feet.

She wiggled the skirt on and brushed her hands down the material to smooth it out. Almost ready.

Deciding to forgo the detachable straps, Danyka wrapped the red silk corset around her torso, buttoning it up in the front. With a squeal of delight, she raced to the mirror.

She couldn’t help but twirl like a little girl. Before this moment, nothing in her life had resembled a fairy tale, except landing the position as Josh’s assistant. At the age of sixteen, she’d been orphaned when her parents died in a horrific car accident. Her aunt had agreed to take her in, rather than sending her to a group home, but the woman had spent as little time with her as possible, always busy planning some important event.

With her back toward the mirror, Danyka caught sight of the ink on her right shoulder. The Milky Way—a tribute to her and her dad’s shared love for space and science fiction. The day she’d come home with her first tattoo, her aunt had decided she should find an apartment of her own. Lucky for her, Ellie and Vanessa, classmates from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, had needed a roommate. They’d since graduated and found their own places, but remained close as they made their way in the real world.

She suspected her interests made her a perfect fit for Josh, a former sci-fi television star, now producing his own space flick. The tattoo had never bothered him, but would it be inappropriate at a charity ball? Why hadn’t she thought of that earlier? She didn’t have time to have her mark covered up. No, the ink would be just another way for her to stand out in the crowd.

Once she’d applied her make-up, she fished in her closet and pulled out her brand new black slingbacks—matching the lacing on the back of her dress—still in their box. They’d probably be off again in a couple of hours. She and heels never got along. When she opened the box, a small brown paper package lay on top. Where did that come from?

The bag felt weightless in her palm. She removed a small piece of tape, letting a handkerchief and note fall to the floor. The red silk material could have been made from the same fabric as her dress, her initials DAR embroidered in the corner with black thread. Combined with the gown, shoes, and her awaiting carriage, the silk accessory completed her transformation into a princess. All she needed was a Prince Charming.

After a quick glance at the clock, she picked up the note. She had seconds to read it before fashionably late turned into rude. Although the paper came from Josh’s personalized notepad, the handwriting did not match that of her boss.

Danyka,

I hope you enjoy yourself at the Kartha Ball tonight! As we figured Ellie and Vanessa would be going with you, we have an extra special surprise for you and you alone. Although Josh and I don’t discuss this with anyone, we met through a dating service called 1Night Stand. The owner, Madame Evangeline, has matched up not only us, but many of my close friends. We have arranged for you to go on one of these dates tonight. We hope we have not overstepped our bounds, but we consider you part of our family and want to see you happy.

Your date, whoever he may be, will meet you at the ball.

Have a wonderful time, and enjoy the rest of your holidays!

Tamara

They had arranged a date for her? She restrained the urge to jump up and down and whoop in delight, blowing out a breath and remaining calm. Another part of her cringed. Was she so desperate she had to rely on a matchmaking service to find a man? A one-night stand at that?

Her gaze shifted to her nightstand, the drawer inside filled with vibrators, rubber dildos, and more. Oh yeah, that screamed desperation. All right, Eve, bring on a real man.

She set the note down on the bed. Grabbing her clutch on the way out the door, she couldn’t help but smile. She might not be off to meet the man she would marry, but she hoped to end the night completely satisfied.

***

Galan drummed his fingers against the counter. He hadn’t expected to have such a hard time finding eighteenth century dress, specifically a knee-length justacorps-style coat and breeches. It wasn’t that he couldn’t find any, but none of the costume shops he’d visited had anything in his size. His thighs prevented him from wearing most pants, and the width of his back caused coat after coat to rip in the seams. Did they grow them that small here?

At last, he’d found the perfect costume for the ball at a quaint boutique named Connie’s Couture. The elegant black outfit, with red silk shirt and stockings, seemed to have been tailored for him, although he’d never been to this area during his travels.

Connie remained in the back, completing some last minute adjustments to his clothing, while he ran through his mental list of everything he needed to purchase before he met his date. Flowers, breath mints…what else?

A hotel room waited for them at the Castillo Hotel, where the ball would take place, but he planned to take his date elsewhere, if she agreed. Traveling as much as he did, he grew lonely and wanted someone to share the wondrous places he often visited. His brother as his companion wasn’t enough. No, he wanted a woman to settle down with rather than finding a new source of temporary satisfaction at every port.

During his last stopover, he’d avoided all his and Volan’s usual haunts, instead spending his evenings on the beaches of Somnium, contemplating his life. And his next voyage. A friend of a friend had recommended the 1Night Stand dating service he’d heard about on Earth. Still, he’d had reservations. He wasn’t like any of the men he’d met around the Terran city of Las Vegas. But he’d filled out the forms, and learned yesterday about his date.

His life had been a scramble since, with no time to inform his brother of his plans. What would Volan think of the arrangement? He’d been quite happy with a variety of women, and never hinted at the need to settle down. Would his brother be respectful of his change in lifestyle? Didn’t matter. He’d already made his decision, so long as his date went well. He needed something different. Maybe his conversion would influence Volan to commit to one woman.

“All set, Mr. Galan.” Connie rushed from the back room, a black polyester bag across her arm. “I hope you have a wonderful time at the ball tonight and charm the lucky woman you’re going to meet.”

He smiled, setting additional currency on the counter to compensate the woman for her extra time and attention. Clasping her by the shoulders, he air-kissed her cheeks in the same way she’d greeted him when he arrived. “Thank you, Ms. Connie. I appreciate all your time. Now, I must get going, as I am already very late.”

She handed him the bag. “Why don’t you change here? The Castillo is a block away, and this way I can see my hard work.”

He hoped his date would be as sweet as the woman before him. “That would be great. Thank you, again.”

She ushered him toward a closet-sized room, closing the curtain behind him. She’d already demonstrated how to dress in the period costume, so he donned the outfit in minimal time. The breeches cupped him with precision, as he decided to forgo traditional undergarments. He stared at his reflection. Perhaps he could fit in at the ball, dressed as an eighteenth century Terran, long enough to woo the woman who waited for him.

Exiting the changing room, Galan stood in the middle of the store, waiting for Connie’s approval. “Well?”

“If I didn’t have a charming man of my own, I’d hope I was your date for the ball.” She handed him a small plastic container, holding a delicate red rose.

“What’s this?” He’d expected to buy a bouquet of flowers rather than just one. What would he do with one tiny flower?

“It’s for her wrist. I know it’s not fitting to the time period, but I’m sure she’ll love it.”

He took the container from her, kissing her on the cheek this time. “I appreciate all you’ve done for me. I’m glad to have met you.”

She nodded. “Now go, before she thinks you’ve stood her up.”

Rushing out the door, he set his sights on the Castillo Hotel, lights shining brighter than any other on the strip. Long, black cars still arrived with men and woman dressed for the ball. Good. I’m not late.

He hurried into the hotel and to the ball room, flashing his invitation at the door. He’d made sure to grab it before leaving Connie’s Couture but left his regular clothing there. He wouldn’t need any of the local fashions anyway, for he planned on leaving in the morning. He only hoped his date would come along for the trip.

Searching the room, worry gnawed at his gut. None of the women inside suited his preferences. Had Madame Evangeline made a mistake? He ducked his head under the ivy-laced trellis to step in farther. He’d been told his date would come up past his stomach. There had to be a woman on Earth fitting that description, and he trusted she waited for him in the room.

May 15, 1816 -  London, England

“Edwina Mosley, you are out of your ever-loving mind! We look like…You are dressed as a strumpet and well…I am in breeches. I look far too feminine to be a man!” Mariah Harris scowled and clenched her fists at her sides. This whole plot was idiotic, and if they were not thrown in Newgate, they would certainly end up in Bedlam.

“Yes, of course, dear. I thought you understood our plan from the beginning. It is a sound one, cousin. Once I stop the messenger and beg his assistance, you will sneak out of those bushes and snatch his bag,” Edwina retorted with a drawl. “My sources have informed me that he passes through here every night at the same time. So, we shall not be waiting long.”

How can she be so sure? Mariah gritted her teeth and curled her toes in irritation. “If there was ever a moment I regret, it was telling you about this mess with Crispin. I only meant to find out where he is staying in London and who with. My poor father is convinced he will come back, but if he does, it will only be for food and shelter.” Nothing more. He had successfully made Mariah the largest fool in all of Kent. That blasted scoundrel!

“Mariah, I am positive this plan will work. Once the satchel is in our possession, we will rifle through for anything addressed to Crispin. From there, you will be free to humiliate the stupid sod and carry on with your life. Now, stop being a ninny and go hide. Hurry! I think I hear a horse.”

Mariah wandered into the shrubbery, hoping she did not step on an adder, or even worse, walk through a spider’s web. Good heavens, if papa ever found out I dressed in a man’s riding outfit, he would send me away to a nunnery for certain.

A few moments passed before the sound of a galloping horse approached. The beast slowed his gait by trotting as he grew closer, coming to a halt where Edwina stood next to a wagon.

She pleaded in a tone befitting a damsel in distress, “Please, sir. I am in need of assistance. I implore you. I should have been home hours ago, but the cart…”

“Say no more, miss. I will see what I can do.” the messenger stated plainly. “Should I dare ask how long you have been stranded for?”

“Only for an hour, sir. I am on my way to London and thought to stop in Maidstone for the night.”

When Mariah popped her head out, she spotted the young man climbing down from his mount. Off in the distance, a rickety cart approached, the driver swaying in his seat. Now, we are were done for. Before they had left her shop, Edwina had managed to convince her that this road was not much travelled on after dark. Only the gent delivering messages from the militia in the north would be expected. What were the odds—on this particular night—that another traveler would pass through?

Sliding the sack off his shoulder, the messenger crouched down by the rear wheel of the pony wagon she and her cousin had sabotaged.

Not long after, Mariah heard the trundling of the other cart squeal until it came to a stop. A middle-aged man stumbled out, falling flat on his face. Too foxed to drive successfully, he clearly would not pose a problem to the scenario.

Now is my chance. Mariah leapt out of the bushes and, while everyone was too distracted in aiding the sotted fool, she grabbed the bag before running back to her hiding spot. Only this time, she did not stop. She ran like the devil until she found the meadow in which she had left her own clothing and horse.

Heart racing, she dropped the cap her long hair had been tucked into, kicked off her shoes, and quickly stripped out of the breeches and loose-fitting shirt she wore. Then, she slipped on her cream-colored riding gown and strapped the satchel to the mare, covering it with the blanket she had used to conceal her dress while in disguise.

She wasted no time taking her place in the saddle. Wrapping her cape around her shoulders, she shifted the side so that it hid the blanket as well before riding back to the inn where she planned on meeting with Edwina. It would be a miracle if they were not caught after this ludicrous theft.

The only visual she retained during the trip was the gallows, and it was that image which kept her from slowing her pace. She had never committed a crime before, and this would take the bucket as far as mischief went. Never in all her twenty-one years had she stooped so low. It was unprecedented, outlandish, and completely unforgivable.

Leave it to the man she had foolishly thought she was in love with. No one could drive her to the brink of madness like Crispen. His words meant nothing. In hindsight, his pledge of love and fidelity was meaningless. His ploy to get under her skirts had worked, and now she was ruined.

In return, Mariah would ruin him. And I cannot wait to see his face when he is discovered.

He ran his tongue across her stomach, from her navel, all the way up to one of her rosy peaks, the taste of tropical fruits and her femininity overwhelming his senses. ~About ANOTHER NIGHT, ANOTHER PLANET~

Prince Aris can’t get her out of his mind ~ AN UNEXPECTED RETURN #MySexySaturday #99cents

My Sexy Saturday

Hello everyone! Thank you for joining me for the 43rd week of My Sexy Saturday.

Have you ever read about a character that exudes sexy? You know the ones. The ones who think they’re plain or can’t understand what the hero or heroine sees in them. The ones that make our hearts flutter and gives us a reason to keep reading. Sure, there are tons of characters who are okay with their sexuality but there are just as many who don’t get what others see in them.

This week we’re sharing those characters who are doing sexy and don’t realize it. Every character has to appeal to readers and each are different in oh so many ways. We’re showing us the characters that make our hearts sing as they go on their journey of discovery about themselves and those they love.

This week, I’m sharing seven from AN UNEXPECTED RETURN which is TWO this month and ON SALE for only $0.99.

An Unexpected Return by Jessica E. Subject

Set-up: In this erotic sci-fi romance, Prince Aris meets his Adamos (person trained in the pleasure arts). She is the same woman he met earlier in the day and couldn’t get out of his head.

She gazed down at her feet. “This is my first appointment. I…I’m not used to kissing and all that.”

A beautiful woman like her had never been kissed before, and on Elatia of all places? How was that possible? “You can take the lead then. But join me on the bed.”

She stiffened, as if becoming distant. “We’ll start on the massage table for the standard rubdown, sir. We’ll move to the bed later in the night.”

Oh yes they would, and there he’d turn the tides, take control of the night and escort her into the land of oblivion. He need only wait for her to let her guard down.

At the table, he dropped his robe to the ground, ensuring Xia had a full-frontal view.

What would she think of him? Was she disgusted by his Otarian form?

His abnormal self-consciousness helped to calm his raging hard-on, but his mind kept returning to Xia. He needed to touch her again, taste her, be in her. Finally, he’d found a woman he hungered for, rather than one he’d simply use as a means to an end. But was the feeling simply a by-product of the eletin added to the water of this planet and infused into the hotel’s ventilation system? He lay down, cringing in the process. This was going to be a long night.

~ About AN UNEXPECTED RETURN ~
