Jane Slayre

"Reader, I buried him."

A TIMELESS TALE OF LOVE, DEVOTION… AND THE UNDEAD.

Jane Slayre, our plucky demon-slaying heroine, a courageous orphan who spurns the detestable vampyre kin who raised her, sets out on the advice of her ghostly uncle to hone her skills as the fearless slayer she's meant to be. When she takes a job as a governess at a country estate, she falls head-over-heels for her new master, Mr. Rochester, only to discover he's hiding a violent werewolf in the attic– in the form of...

And The Winner Is….

I'll tell you later in this post. :-) .  But first let me tell you a little about the book, The Year of Living Scandalously.  It's the first in a new series, The Secrets of Hadley Green.  I offer you some great eye candy (seriously, who IS this guy??):

Here is what the cover copy says:

In 1792, the village of Hadley Green executed a man for stealing the Countess of Ashwood's historic jewels. Fifteen years later, questions still linger. Was it a crime of greed—or of passion?

When Declan O'Connor, ...

IS IT JUST ME?

I used to love to fly.  The mere thought of taking a plane anywhere excited me.  I love the smell of jet fuel in the morning!  But lately, instead of anticipation, the thought of flying brings on a whole new feeling:  dread.  Followed by the question:  can't we just drive instead?

On the road again!

We live about a 16 hour drive from NY. Comparing that to my last flight to NY, taking in travel time to the airport (we live 1 1/2 hours from the airport), the fact that we need to arrive two ...

I've got some swampland in Florida….

[image error]"I am Mrs. Olga Patarkatsishvili, the widow of late Georgian business tycoon Mr. Badri Patarkatsishvili, I have a business proposal which will be of great benefit to you …"

So, over at my website email, I get like five or so of these a day.  Seriously, a day.  I could be a millionaire a million times over if only I'd respond in a timely manner.  And apparently I am well-loved in over twenty countries by people I've never heard of who out of the complete goodness of their hearts leave all...

Kathleen's State of the World: All Things Wednesday

I am currently writing THE END to my manuscript (that's book two of seven for those that I might have continually whined discussed this with), and as such, it's very hard to find a great topic to blog about, although I do love Jacquie's "Is it Just Me?" topic and almost picked that one, but then I decided to create my own cornucopia, potpourri, smorgasbord, all-you-can-eat-buffet, miscellanea, any other good nouns for odd assortments (other than my family)? So, today, I will present, the...

The Extraordinary Kathleen Givens

As most of you know, we lost our very dear friend and sister Kathleen Givens on January 1st this year. It was shocking, since she had been in apparent good health with no major concerns, and she'd been so looking forward to 2010. And of course it was very sad, because we love her. Everybody who met Kathleen loved her, it seemed, with very few exceptions. She was a remarkable woman. We all feel very fortunate to have had her in our lives, and wish we could have had her with us much longer.

Toda...

The Year of Living Scandalously

[image error] In 1792, the village of Hadley Green executed a man for stealing the Countess of Ashwood's historic jewels. Fifteen years later, questions still linger. Was it a crime of greed—or of passion?

When Declan O'Connor, Earl of Donnelly, arrives at Hadley Green to meet with Lily Boudine, the new countess of Ashwood, he immediately recognizes the lovely woman who welcomes him. Pretending to be her cousin Lily in an attempt to avoid an unwanted marriage, Keira Hannigan is staying at the estate while ...

Whine Sisters Shake Things Up

Hahaa! Fooled You! We'd never make it that easy!

It's been almost a year since we brought in some Champion Whiners and launched the New and Improved Whine Sisters. We really like our blog.  We like each other.  We like whining. Recently, we had a private online whine about our blog, because what's the point of blogging if you're happy with everything?  We said, "We need more whine-worthy topics!"  and "We have books!  We should give our books to people with the hope that they might...

Where Have All the Whiners Gone?

Once upon a time, there were only three Whine Sisters: Julia London, Kathleen Givens, and Sherri Browning Erwin. And we had some regulars who would pop in and add witty comments to our repartee. Dr. Love, VB, Leslie from KC, Colleen, Korean Celt, Parrotgirl/Carolyn, Mz Betty, and many more. Lady Celtia joined us. We added some new names (Dorthy, Karen, Freedom Writer). Guess who is posing with the reindeer?

Wait, how did he get here?

But the original core group of Whiners dropped off...

Fashion Forward: Spring Fashion Preview!

I know, I know, we haven't even bought our fall fashions yet and they're already rolling out the spring fashions in New York.  But I am very excited to bring this fashion news to you because it's a middle-aged gal kind of fashion season:  wrinkles and flow-y draping things are IN!

Vera Wang thinks if you're going wrinkly and bulgy, you ought to have Some Hair to go along with it.  I am feeling so pumped, because I can do this hair on my own, anytime, anywhere.   I am actually a master at this ...
