off the market
As from 1st September both my books - '3am and Wide Awake' and 'Expected' will be off the market with the publishers. There will be a re-launch later in the year - 2015 - and hopefully I will also release my supernatural thriller. I've decided to self-publish all three and see what happens... back soon!

Final Part Spooky Serial
My 3 part spooky serial concludes this week in My Weekly. There is also a small ad for my thriller anthology '3am and Wide Awake'. Very happy about this.
Not so happy that I got a contract this week from a UK publisher for my new supernatural novel and found it to be less than acceptable. Disappointed and disillusioned.
I've just submitted another serial to another mag and am now working on another. I like working for magazines and will continue to do it - particularly like writing serials, which is something I was prompted to try originally and didn't think I could do! Now I love them best.
Meanwhile - my novel goes out to more agents and more publishers..........

My new 3 part serial - 'The Book of Shadows' starts today in My Weekly (UK) - this is a first for me to have a serial in this particular magazine so very excited. It's a thriller set in the Lake District, Cumbria and involves witchcraft and dirty tricks...hope you enjoy!

News
Well what a very long time since I wrote on my blog - when I see fellow writers doing them every day too!! Gulp... I suppose 4 house moves and a very traumatic year might let me off??
Well here's my bit of news anyway - I've got a serial starting in My Weekly dated 4th July, which means it will be out on the 1st or 2nd July I think. It's a spooky 3 part thriller set in the Lake District... hope you enjoy it!
Next, I have finished my supernatural thriller/horror and I've submitted it to a few agents and one published in the UK. I couldn't quite believe it but the publisher wrote to me and asked to see the whole book, so it's just gone... will know inside of 6 weeks... I'd love to be a novelist as well as writing serials....so have everything crossed!
Oh did I mention I did a proofreading course? So I'm a member of the proofreader's association and can take on work....it also helps hugely with my own copy editing and proofreading as I go through my work.
I think that brings me up to date... hope so badly to have good news soon!

It's ages since I've guested on anyone's blog - sound of sobs - probably because I haven't done any work...but anyway today I'm on James North's blog, pontificating on writing comedy and horror. Please come on over for a visit - you don't have to stay long - but it would be nice! James is an American thriller writer and his website is awesome as they say over there....
More news - well I've just submitted my third 3 part serial to a major UK woman's magazine, and am praying, yes praying it gets accepted. I now really have to earn my living from writing and can't prat about anymore. Not that I did... but ya know... I've got to be very serious about it from a financial point of view these days. Next up is getting my SNT licked into shape and I'm doing that now - finishing it off and submitting to agents... oh and then I move house for the 4th time this year next month so I've not been caught napping you understand! LOL See ya later! :)

Now out
A few bits to add this week. First, the My Weekly Annual 2015 is now out as a hardback edition on Amazon with DC Thomson. I have a short story in there - so that's a first for me to be in an Annual!
Next - I have a short story called 'The Perfect Plot' in this week's The Weekly News, now on sale, dated 30th August.
Next - I have an inclusion in a new anthology of adult fairy tales, called 'Thrice Upon a Time' with Alfie Dog Fiction, now on Amazon.
There will be another short story of mine in My Weekly, the magazine, next week.
Right now I'm just finishing off part one of a new serial for Woman's Weekly and hoping she will like it!

Short Story News
Just had great news - a short story I wrote just 2 weeks ago has been published and is out in The Weekly News very shortly - it's in the 30th August issue which I think is either out this weekend or next week.
Also have a fairytale in 'Thrice Upon a Time' - a darkly humorous version of Hansel and Gretel - available now on amazon in paperback or on kindle with Alfie Dog Fiction.
Also have a story in The My Weekly Annual 2015, which is out on amazon via the DC Thomson shop.
And then one in the My Weekly magazine issue date 6th Sept - so guessing the week after next!
Right now I'm working on a serial over the bank holiday weekend, sad obsessive writer person that I am... and after that I'll finish my supernatural thriller and submit it to agents! Oh and in between - lots more short stories..... This writer is back!!!!

Edinburgh Book Festival and more news
Bit of good news... First 'Expected' my comedy novel, is currently on the exhibition stand at the Edinburgh Book Festival with Crooked Cat Publishing... I've put the picture of this plus the video on my blog - http://www.sarahengland.yolasite.com Well it's a first for me so quite exciting!
Next, I had a short story accepted last week for My Weekly and that will be out in the 6th Sept issue. I've also got a short story in the My Weekly Annual which will be out very soon, and also one in a fairytale anthology with Alfie Dog - out next week... a fairy tale perhaps, but not as you know it! I'll post when these stories are out.
Meanwhile - as my life pieces back together again, I've started writing once more and penned two short stories last week, which were subsequently submitted to various magazines. Cross fingers because they are the first in a very very long time!
Now working on a serial for Woman's Weekly and also some short stories for them, before moving onto finishing my supernatural thriller and... gulp... sending that out to agents.... shriek!

All Change
A lot has happened since my last post on here. New start in life - moved home, swapped my life for a different one on every level!
It's been a while since I did any writing but today I picked up my pen and actually wrote a short story from start to finish, and was happy enough to sub it to a magazine... so cross fingers!
Now another short to do, followed by a serial, then my thriller to finish and then a sequel for 'Expected'.
'Expected' has sold quite a few copies recently so I hope those readers have enjoyed it and laughed. Meanwhile, there's a fairytale collection out on 20th August with Alfie Dog, in which I have a story. Then there is the My Weekly Annual out at the end of August - in which I also have a story. So here I am ...back on the wagon! Wagons roll/....
