New Release Party

The launch party for Occult Horror Novel, 'Tanners Dell' - sequel to 'Father of Lies' - is on facebook 29th May 6pm-8pm TOMORROW! There will be 2 books - one of each - offered as prizes in easy peasy competitions; lots of horror snippets and scary bits, and some excerpts from the books... hope you can drop in - would be great to see you!

So far Tanners Dell is being very well received with most reviewers saying it is even scarier than Father of Lies... tried it yet? Not for those of a nervous disposition... no, definitely not... cackles...

New Release! Tanners Dell - new occult horror
The sequel to bestseller occult horror 'Father of Lies' has just been released on kindle and in paperback. 'Tanners Dell' now tells the story of what really happened in the creepy ex-mining village of Woodsend. The more I delved into this the more terrifying it got, and as a consequence I think Tanners Dell is much more frightening. All the more because it COULD be true...oh it could.. think about it.. cackle...

But no one asking questions in the desolate mining village Ruby descends from ever comes to a good end. And as the diabolical history of the area is gradually revealed, it seems the evil invoked is now both real and contagious.'

Launch party for Occult Horror Sequel, 'Tanners Dell'

This is just a shout out to let you know that the sequel to Father of Lies is about to be released. Tanners Dell is also a stand alone novel, but ideally follows on from the first. Personally I think this one is a lot more scary and the feedback I've had so far is that it knocks spots off the first one... well I guess the idea is that we improve not deteriorate so I am happy with that - it's been 6 months of solitary confinement and hard work so all I would like is for the reader to enjoy....
The launch party is for just a couple of hours on Sunday 29th May 6-8pm to let everyone know it's out... there will be a couple of paperbacks given away, a few excerpts from the book and some scary surprises.... so wear black, have a stiff drink to hand and it might be best to make sure the bulb in the landing light's working...

6 month update, posters and reviews...
If you'd like to visit my blog today you would be very welcome! It's been 6 months since the release of my first supernatural horror novel, 'Father of Lies' and I thought I'd post the latest covers and reviews. Next stop will be the release of the sequel, 'Tanners Dell', and I'll post as soon as it's out - hopefully 4-6 weeks! Thank you to anyone and everyone who left a good review for FOL on here and on amazon.... the knowledge that readers enjoyed the book really keeps me going!

Revealed! The cover for Tanners Dell - sequel to Father of Lies
I just wanted to show you the new kindle cover for 'Tanners Dell' - the sequel to Supernatural Horror, 'Father of Lies'.
'Tanners Dell' is due for release in mid-May and I will post as soon as it's out. I have the paperback cover ready too but that will be published nearer the time...not long.. lots of hard work between now and then but I hope you like the cover! It's done by Gina Dickerson of RoseWolf and I am thrilled with it - she's a mind reader!

Authors Reach Event plus sequel news...
March 20th 2015:
The first bit of news I have is that as part of Authors Reach I will be going down to Lee-on-the-Solent for a World Book Night Extravaganza at 'The Bookshop' on the High Street. Four of us - Richard Hardie, Shani Struthers, Gina Dickerson and myself - will form the Authors Reach evening part of this book signing event, chatting to readers. I'll take lots of paperbacks of 'Father of Lies' - which are published specifically for bookshops - and some flyers for the upcoming sequel - 'Tanners Dell'. So if you live anywhere near the south coast and fancy coming over on the evening of April 23rd, it's going to be a fab night with drinks courtesy of the owner!
Bit more news... 'Tanners Dell' is written! Believe me, this has taken all sorts of twists and turns I did not expect. The more I explored about what happened in ex-mining village, Woodsend, the more questions arose. The research was quite an undertaking and there is still quite a bit more to do. However, it will now take about 6-8 weeks for editing, beta-reading, proofing and formatting before I can release it. I am aiming for mid-end of May, possibly before. Currently Gina is working on the cover and it's very exciting! As soon as I have some images and a launch party date I will post on here!
In the meantime, there are lots of new reviews appearing on amazon for 'Father of Lies' - 72 in total now I think... and I do take heed of what readers think, although people telling me they downloaded the wrong book or the pages curled... hmm..what can you do?

Radio!
I have some very exciting news this week with Authors Reach! One of our group of 5 is Catriona King, a prolific and successful Belfast crime writer, who also has a radio show on Wednesday mornings. All of our group have now been interviewed and this week it's my turn. Yes I am nervous...I'm going to be talking about my past work as a magazine writer, and my current occult horror novels set in the north of England. Next - Father of Lies is currently being updated on amazon in line with the bookstore edition and in conjunction with Authors Reach. The new version has the new cover and is further edited and formatted - it should be ready by mid week. I can see that older copies are still being sold on amazon - all I can say is that they won't be as tightly scripted or have the lovely new cover... lovely?.. well, okay, horrific... but in the nicest possible way!
There is a bit more news! On Thursday, for 5 days, my collection of dark thrillers - '3am and Wide Awake' - will be free on Amazon to download. I will post again over the weekend about that...lots more on my blog today! ***
