A Wish for Christmas
Brand new and out today!!!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00GQI7ZEO
'A Wish for Christmas' is a collection of 20 short Christmas stories published by Alfie Dog Fiction and just released today. It includes one of my own - 'All That Glitters' - where someone is stealing Christmas, but who? A ghost or maybe the little girl of the house? One thing is for sure - they have to be caught before the big day!
Makes a perfect gift! On Amazon kindle download and also directly from the Alfie Dog bookstore, where you can send it as a gift! That sorts quite a few of my Christmas presents out anyway.
http://www.alfiedog.com
On the Alfie Dog site there are quite a few short story collections - including my own '3am and Wide Awake' and several authors I interviewed in Fiction Hotel, like Samantha Tonge and Patsy Collins, who also has a story in 'A Wish for Christmas'....so why not treat yourself? Or someone else this Christmas...coming up so soon...shriek!

Not Expected... plus more news
Well I have a big fat smile on my face because my comedy 'Expected' just had its 26th review and it's a 5* one! Here is a little of what the reviewer said on amazon..
'I have read many books in my time but this has got to be the most tumultuous journey I ever gone on that's not my own. She captures true to life drama with a hint of humour that runs through our own lives. Sometimes you sympathise, sometimes you want to slap sense into the woman. A lot of what takes place beggers belief and how she comes through it all you never know. All I know is you will be thoughly entertained or enraged all the way through. One NOT to be missed!'
Now that is nectar to a starving author! And what's more - once I have finished my supernatural (and written another serial) I will be writing up the sequel for Sam Sweet in Expected. She's demanding it because she thinks she's a star...typical actress! Anyway she won't be so pleased when she sees where I'm sending her... ha!
Oh - and I'm talking to the lovely Gina Dickerson today on http://www.ginadickerson.blogspot.com about writing, pooches and bad habits etc - please come on over and join us!
All for now - happy day today...

Stories in the basement bar and more!
Welcome to one of my favourite author friends today - Richard Harrington - ex-army - and boy with some stories to tell! He's my guest in Fiction Hotel this afternoon - http://www.fictionhotel.blogspot.com - find him in the Cat's Whiskers Basement Bar nursing a single malt and telling us some hair-raising tales. And his brand new political thriller 'Area 57' in the hotel library - all tabs along the top..... please come on over!
As for me I am exhausted, I tell you! Currently working on my supernatural thriller and so frustrated at not/never having enough time to get it down! I'm about a third of the way through and it's picking up pace... am very excited!
On Monday there is a little story of mine called 'All that Glitters' included in a Christmas anthology called 'A Wish for Christmas' that will be launched by Alfie Dog Fiction on 18th November.
My murder mystery serial will soon be in Woman's Weekly - a 3 part thriller inspired by Wuthering Heights! Will post when it's out!
I am also going to do another one of those....
Also I will be featured in a local paper 'Shaftesbury Matters' this month so will try to get that scanned and posted - as I had my photos done on Gold Hill in Shaftesbury (Hovis commercial???) a very steep cobbled street and I was in stiletto heels...
Not heard re Writers Forum - but hoping to be featured in there too before long. Photos gone off.
Oh and I'm tired, did I say? There's something wrong with me I just know it....

local news
I've had a brilliant time today - I met the editor of a local newspaper and we had a long chat followed by some shots of me holding both my books on the cobbles of Gold Hill in Shaftesbury - famous for the Hovis advert on tv!
We chatted about all the magazine stories and serials, then '3am and Wide Awake' - the thriller collection with Alfie Dog Ltd; and comedy novel 'Expected' with Crooked Cat. Also my ongoing project, which is a supernatural thriller - all under wraps, and the upcoming sequel for Sam Sweet in Expected. There will also be another anthology out soon - called 'A Wish for Christmas' with Alfie Dog Ltd, and in which I have one story called 'All that Glitters'....
There's more - this feature will be in 'Shaftesbury Matters' and possibly in the sister, larger, paper too - and she told me a new bookstore is soon to open in Shaftesbury and why don't we organise a signing?
I feel so much more uplifted and hopeful now... like finally, after 10 years of writing and getting better at it - that it may take off... perhaps next year when the thriller comes out... and then the sequel...
I'll post when the murder-mystery serial is running in Woman's Weekly - not too far away I hope.
All for now...

Halloween interview....
http://rebeccaraisin.wordpress.com/20...
For a bit of fun, whilst stirring the cauldron and cackling, I've been interviewed by Rebecca Raisin, about writing horror stories and how I sleep at night etc.... what's the scariest movie ever made..that kind of thing!
As my latest project is a supernatural horror novel, this is all the more alarming for me.... having to research possessions etc... the book covers are so scary I have to hide them. In the end I gave them to my best friend and she put them in her garage under a pile of boxes - the covers are that evil looking....
Apparently in medieval times, many people believed that if you even SAW an evil image then the evil would climb into your aura.....shriek! And if you recall the ending of 'The Woman in Black' - in the book not the film - that was the entire premise of the horror - once you'd SEEN her....gulp!
Happy Halloween everyone! However, if you'd rather have a really good laugh - please check out 'Expected'.....:)

Bound to the Highlander
http://www.fictionhotel.blogspot.com
Brand new and out now - is 'Bound to the Highlander' by Kate Robbins. This is historical Scottish fiction and is the first in a series. Kate (Debbie) talks to us today in Fiction Hotel about what the book is all about and how she came to write it - fascinating stuff! And if you comment on the main page you may win a clan crest brooch pin!!
Her interview is in The Grill - if you click on the tab at the top of the page you will find her. And her book is now in the library.
Fiction Hotel's library is now filling up with books across all genres from the authors interviewed - and there is lots more to come!
Mine are in there to, of course, but you can't really interview yourself, can you? Maybe I'll just stay in the spa with the (fictional) hot guys and have a coconut oil massage....

update
First of all I'm thrilled to bits to find a 5* review for Expected - my comedy - today. It's on amazon and goodreads and it's really picked me up after a difficult weekend. Thank you so very much Rebecca!
I'm currently working on a supernatural thriller and trying to organise my time so I spend less time on facebook and more writing, or I won't get it done. For that reason, along with recent malignment on there (!) I have opted out of all the groups and kind of drawn a line under things, closed a chapter if you like - while I start anew. Deep breath!
New things? Well I want to have the thriller drafted out in full before Christmas so I can submit it in the new year....and I've been asked to write another serial. Hopefully the latest one will appear soon in Woman's Weekly - but they are really hard to do and take many weeks -great challenge though, in terms of writing. Oh and I've been invited into Writers Forum magazine so have to get some photos done. I've now changed/updated my photos everywhere since they were about 5 years old! yes that is the last time I had my photo taken!!! I never like having my picture taken.
Reading wise - just finished Mortiswood by Gina Dickerson and am going to do her a review soon. Also started Amy and Zach by Sarah Louise Smith - my bedtime reading for a while....sorted!
