Romance Plus

I’ve been reading a lot of romance recently, as a means to support my fellow indie writers, check out what everyone’s reading and get my fill of feels. And something that I realized recently? I ‘m a big fan of what I’d like to call Romance Plus. As in, Romance Plus something else — romance + crime, romance + mystery, even romance + feminism (which absolutely works fantabulously — more on this later). I’ve found that I need something more than a boy meets girl story to hook me in, although the fe...

Things are afoot

So let me just leave this little sneaker of a teaser tweet here.

A lightning round:

Yes, I’m still writing.

Yes, I’m writing under a different name.

Yes, the use of a pseudonym is related to my work vis-a-vis Googleability.

No, my work isn’t that strict but this is really more of a “just in case, if they do come across this other side of me that’s fine, but I’d rather not make it so public for now….” for reasons that probably only make sense to me, so yeah, there.

Yes, books are coming out under...

Checking in

Here we are, right on schedule with my mysterious monthly blog post that tells you almost nothing.

Almost! ALMOST.

Because as you all know, most of my fiction-writing these days is under a different name, and I finally got official with that name, so it’d be good somehow to keep y’all updated with what Other Me is up to. And so I present this link.

So let me just leave that there and walk away slowly, and you can follow me down that rabbit hole if you want. :) See you on the other side!

Happy new book year!

It’s 2015 and what better way to greet the new year than to look back on the year that was…reading matter-wise!

2014 books

I’m kind of obsessive about tracking what I read on Goodreads, just so I can look back at the end of the year and seemy progres. In 2014, I read 26 books – more or less two a month (which is a little pitiful huhuhu). This is what my reading year looked like:

Sandman-tastic: I blazed through three Sandman volumes as I came closer to completing my collection. Incidentally Brief Lives and...

2014!

White sparkles abstract background 2014 was a crazy, crazy year. I branched out into a totally different genre, got a new name and wrote a couple of books under that name…and now here I am, still not sure what to do with all this, still in experimental mode!

I’ve enjoyed this entire year and all the wonderful things that have come along with it. My day job / career growth has thrown a spanner into my authoring ‘hobby’ (as you may have noticed with the lack of updates), but I still pushed to create and write when I could. I had...

Fangirling Outlander and the power of memorable lines

If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you’ll know I’ve fallen down this pleasant rabbit hole called Outlander. I just finished book one in the series (here’s my review) and starting on book two, Dragonfly in Amber, which has, so far, thwarted all my fears for Sookie Stackhouse-itis: page one hooked me in with a complete surprise. I’ve also binge-watched all seven episodes of the excellent Starz TV series, which if you haven’t seen yet GO GO NOW YOU’LL THANK ME WHEN YOU GET TO THE WEDDING LA...

Round up: Ghost Month edition

Ooh, Ghost Month! I love how August sounds so menacing, instead of being the rainy prelude to my birth month and pre-Christmas madness (in the Philippines at least.) This is what’s been going on in my neck of the woods:

1.) Well Played is among the books eligible for nomination in the 2014 Filipino Reader’s Choice Awards! So if you read it and you liked it maybe you’d like to nominate it? :)

2.) As part of the second New Adult Quick Reads anthology, All This Wanting, here’s a guest post on Mina’...
