Casting Well Played, Pinoy indie style
OK this is something just for fun. My friend Jao works in advertising and, soon as he finished Well Played, immediately began casting the "movie version." Here's his dream cast:
Jasmine Curtis as PatriceFelix Roco as PaulPaul Montecillo as Lars
What do you think?? I think Felix Roco is a great touch! Haven't seen Paul Montecillo in anything yet but he does have that bad boy charm. And Jasmine is just gorgeous. What about you, who would YOU cast? Let's play!

Buy Well Played any way you like it

Patrice Reyes is starting her junior year at the University and she's convinced it's going to be the best semester ever. For starters, it looks like this is the year her team will win the regional football (soccer, for you Yanks) championships. Her subjects are looking good, and there's even a chance she might finally get somewhere with her rock star crush. But a new classmate—arrogant, cold math nerd—is seriously throwing off her groove. Will she...

Love and football
As a writer, it's inevitable to get asked the question on your book: is this based on me? Or, quite more often, this is YOU right?
That's particularly troublesome when you and your heroine / protagonist share a hobby. For me and Patrice, the protagonist of Well Played, that hobby just happens to be football.
In action last February, playing for the company football team at a corporate tournamentThe question I get is since I play football and Patrice plays football and Patrice and I both to...

Getting by with a little help from my friends
I quipped that indie publishing is like that saying, "it takes a village to raise a child." Without the resources of traditional publishing, an author has to figure out all the components that make up a book. Yes, surprisingly, it's not just about writing (if you write it, they will read) -- there's art, editing and marketing to think about!
Thankfully there are a lot of resources for indie writers now, such as Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing and Smashwords, to help get works out. And f...
